Rate this book
Charlie, the owner of 'Charlie's Antiques', has a past that makes her wary of giving her heart away.

Logan, a former military mountain of a man with his own share of scars, has a golden retriever personality and a heart as big as the mountains he loves. Their lives keep intertwining unexpectedly, and the connection between them is undeniable. Despite Charlie's best efforts to resist, the tension and chemistry between them grow stronger. As Logan slowly chisels away the walls Charlie has built to protect herself from the world, she struggles with the weight of her tragic past and the grief that keeps her closed off. Can she overcome the guilt of moving on and allow herself to embrace the love Logan offers? Or will her fears and doubts cause her to lose this powerful connection forever?

The Things That Hold Us does contain some topics that may be hard for some readers, such as cancer, death of a loved one, and grief.
Please take care of yourself, and do not read if any of these things are triggering to your mental health.

I cried. A lot. As someone who does mostly dark romance or fantasy this one hit me in all the best ways. Charlie is a gem. The heartbreak she is going through is so relatable if you are familiar with grief. Logan was EVERYTHING. That man took anything she would give him. Oh and Pudding! Such a beautiful story. I cried easily 6 times through out. If you love watching a strong woman find herself in a new love and walk through some of the hardest things you can go through this is the book for you!! Can’t wait for the next!

This was sweet. I think I expected a little more from this but it was cute for what it was. Charlie’s trauma was definitely a big factor in her story and Logan was so patient with her.

This book was absolutely beautiful. The writing was amazingly picturesque- it was so easy to get lost in. I was quickly engulfed in Charlie’s world and loved her little town! All of the characters were so easy to fall in love with. This book broke my heart and glued it back together. I loved how it normalized how unpredictable grief is and how hard it can be to deal with.

I cried, I laughed, the spice spiced (🥵). I devoured this book in less than 24 hours and cannot wait for the sequel!!

This was a sweet second chance romance that was truly about healing for Charlie. She put so much guilt on moving on that it was a true struggle to let it go and feel. Seeing those emotions and how she felt about it makes you really see how people might also struggle for those same reasons and really hits it home. Charlie and Logan are absolutely adorable and the sweetness factor is all over this.

Small town romance that will leave you feeling all the feels!

I hardly ever read small town romances- they just aren't my typical read, but I know the author personally so of course I needed to read her book! What I didn't expect was for this book to wreck me the way it did!

I have only read a couple books that have made me cry and this one had me crying several times! Its a real tear jerker in my opinion. The trauma bond from both the FMC and MMC is absolutely to die for. Most of the time when both parties have the same type of trauma that they do those parties tend to be toxic to one another because they don't know how to manage that trauma. Not this couple. They both have several green flags on both sides.

Now I will admit the FMC she definitely had more trauma that she hadn't worked through like the MMC had. So we see her constantly push away the MMC because she hasn't healed enough for his love. He could have easily stayed away when she first pushed him away instead of trying and just taking what she was willing to give. The way he is so patient and gentle with her is exactly what she needs in order to heal and move on.

I absolutely cannot wait for book 2!!!! Tori congrats on your book!!! I absolutely loved it!

Heartwrenching, engaging plot. Did not want to put it down, so I read for hours straight! This read has dialogue that is not only realistic but poignant and sticks with you. The characters truly leap from the page and you're invested in their lives. Logan is such a breath of fresh air and falling for him is inevitable! Looking forward to more from this author.

I absolutely loved this book! The vibes & the aesthetic all intertwined perfectly. I loved the little details such as the flower field, the teapots, etc. There were so many cute touches to this book.

The relationships in this book were all close and I loved how much love each character had for each other. Let’s not forget the adorable adoption scene where Charlie adopts Pudding. That part made my heart melt. 🥺

I absolutely loved the chemistry between Logan & Charlie. Logan always went out of the way to make sure Charlie was happy and comfortable. Their relationship is top tier and couldn’t have gotten any better.

Also, let’s not forget that the spice… spiced. 👀🔥

I highly recommend this book to anyone’s TBR who wants cozy vibes and a second chance at love story.
