I love this series so much, everything is so expertly woven together. Dazai and Chuuya, Rimbaud and Verlaine...such complex relationships. The story is so good too, I like how Storm Bringer follows after this (currently, the manga adaptation is great). So amazing!!
This was such a fantastic conclusion to this mini arc! I of course really enjoyed the light novel, but seeing it drawn out like this was just on a completely different level.
I LOVED the parallels shown with the whole idea of "partners" with Verlaine and Rimbaud + Chuuya and Dazai as well.
[I think they changed the ending/plan with Rimbaud the slightest bit from the light novel and it made a lot more sense this way!]
The art was stunning as usual and they did SUCH a good job showing Dazai's cruel ingenuity. I will always love the "we could always trust one of our own" scene and it was adapted so well!
Of course I liked the little silly scenes of Chuuya and Dazai at the end too ("you're supposed to be my dog!!"). ...also Dazai taking any moment to get invade Chuuya's personal space 😭 they are so canon idc argue with the wall!
ALSO the panels of Chuuya being discovered by the sheep?! So. Painful.
PS: Storm Bringer manga reference at the end?!?! 🤭
What else is there to say? Other than the art is beautiful, the story is great, and Chuuya and Dazai's dynamic remains as funny, twisted, and complex as ever.
The story of how they met and joined forces will forever be a favorite of mine to read. It was fun to see it all again in a manga format this time.
