It is a great story where the hero of the story is someone, who is experiencing a lot of internal and external struggles. This story is surrounded by the elements of adventure, self-realization, and the occult, comprising a wide range of opportunities and problems. Besides, the tempo was adjusted appropriately, and it is similar to how the ocean surges, thereby affecting the brisk tone of the story. Readers can easily relate to the characters even to a point that you can look into the protagonist's state of mind at every chapter. The author has a great descriptive and immersive writing style. In the book, I have learned the importance of grappling with one’s demons and the value of reflection, consequently expanding our understanding of the effects of being abandoned and how important relationships are.

About the writing:
Of all the books I've read in the last month, this one has the best writing. With simple writing, but at the same time that it captivates and "traps" us in this other world, the writer's words make us imagine every part of the spaces he is characterizing, without us getting lost looking for the meanings of overly complex words.
About structure:
The structure of the book couldn't be improved, I think it's one of the areas in which the book achieved perfection. The chapters are divided to reach an appropriate length for easy and fluid reading. Not so small that they cannot be developed, nor so long that they become exhaustive and indeterminable.
About the plot and and characters:
As with all readings, I believe this is the area where personal preference carries the most weight. For me, that I'm a big fan of adventures, I went into this reading with great expectations and the book did not disappoint.
I felt that it was easy for me to define and distinguish all the characters. In several moments of reading, without noticing, I seemed to feel the same way the characters felt because the writing was so good and this made it even easier to identify with them.
In general:
It's a book that I would have no doubts about recommending to other people. It's an easy read, but it "grabs" you from the first chapter.
The only reason I don't give it 5 stars ⭐ is because even though it has been one of my favorite reads lately, it wouldn't be a book I would read again.

Nightmares plagued twenty-two-year-old chronicler/storyteller Enidor,; he saw evil beings and was on the edge of insanity and is on the brink of taking his own life. All is not lost when the King of Light, Elnarin, comes to his rescue. Will the sailors be able to stave off the darkness, the evil, that permeates every inch of their ship, Nefelgar?
WOW! If this is the first book in this series, I can hardly wait to read the following books. The genre is a mixture of horror, fantasy and thriller. I love the folklore in this intriguing tale. The atmosphere is dark and ominous. I was so caught up in this tale I couldn’t stop listening out of terror, unease, fright and intrigue. There are biblical themes running throughout this tale. The ending offers readers a sense of hope, forgiveness and redemption. Author Adam Wodyk is a genius when it comes to world building. The characters are well fleshed out. Don’t miss this tale.

I don't normally write full-on reviews, but I feel like I should write something for this work.
I think this story is a great example of how vital 'show, don't tell' is in literature, mainly because it's nearly non-existent in this book. I was astounded that by the end, I didn't understand any more about the plot than I did when I had first picked it up. Despite the multi-page monologues from characters that were barely introduced, and not described in the slightest, and despite the near-constant repetition of what was occurring within that chapter.
I was also super thrown off by how much this book WANTED to be like LotR. It's high-fantasy style names and creatures that weren't explored at all.
Not only was the plot strangely paced and jumbled between random character POVs and chapters, but there just... wasn't much of a plot at all. This work could have benefited massively from an editor and beta-readers to help make the writing style less contrived and repetitive.

A book of fantasy full of adventure
To future readers, let me tell you that this novel left me fascinated from the first chapter. If you are one of those who like fantasy full of adventure, magic, mystery and legends, I am sure you will be hooked as I was. It is truly a great book! The main plot is about a sailor explorer who begins to discover important secrets of an ancient legend that could change the fate of his town and community. What I liked most is that the book deals with important themes such as moral conflict, coming to terms with our fears, finding purpose and loyalty among friends.
I highly recommend this book, and I already want to start reading the second copy of this wonderful saga full of magic and mystery.

"A Legend of the Sailors" is an adventure fiction written by author Wodyk. In this story, the sailors encounter an evil entity from the other world. These sailors ventured into the distant West Sea and found the most precious mineral on earth: the legendary, long-sought nurit. Along with this discovery, they became involved in a centuries-old war, which they never saw coming.
What I liked most about this reading was the plot, I think it is extremely captivating, and this author knew how to create a spectacular worldbuilding. The characters are fresh and very well described. It is also very interesting to see the metamorphosis of each character and how each of them acts when a conflict arises. Certainly, a recommended read.

If you like stories that contain mythological beings, hard-to-imagine creatures, magic, fantasy and a bit of action and adventure, this is definitely a book you must read.
Usually, this kind of books are big, long and difficult to read, however, I love this text that is super easy to read. It is suitable for young people to read and it is short which makes you enjoy every second of the text and you get hooked enough to not stop reading until the end.
I must add that it is not just any book, but also in a few pages, it brings themes such as forgiveness and reflections on life which makes the book very rich in content. I am ready to know more books by this author!

Since I started reading the book “A Legend of the Sailors”, I knew I was looking at a unique book. The story captivated me from the first pages, and it is one of those stories that you don't want to stop reading to know what will happen next. I really like the mix of fantasy, suspense and horror elements because they create an atmosphere full of mystery that makes the reader want to know what is going to happen in the next chapter. Another thing I liked most about the story is that it also explores themes of faith, redemption and sacrifice, which gives great intensity to the reading. I definitely recommend this book because you can immerse yourself in a world full of fantasy.

Fun plot
I loved the story and the setting of this book, the creepy dark mysterious sea and the sailors who are trying to survive. The story is about a group of sailors who discover a precious ore, which ends up bringing battles and conflicts with mysterious fantasy creatures, something they hadn't bargained for. The writing could use some cleaning up, both with the phrasing and the story telling; an editor may be of some use here. However, if that's not something that interferes with your enjoyment of reading, this is a really good book. If you like dark mysterious gods and other fantastical creatures and otherworldly stories, I would recommend this book.

I really liked this book, I found the author's narrative interesting, it made me connect with each chapter and I couldn't stop reading. Usually, I don't love action and science fiction books, because I don't manage to connect and immerse myself in the atmosphere of the reading, but this genre is totally the opposite and I loved it. It is a story that has a degree of mystery, intrigue and even a bit of fear, which will make you not stop reading and want to know what will be the end of this incredible story. I highlight a lot of the narrative and the development of the characters that exist in the reading, all contribute a lot to the plot and are quite interesting. Highly recommended.

In this book by Adam Wodyk, I was driven into a world of ancient fantasy. From the very beginning, I was immersed into adventures of the sea, myths and wonderful magical events. The plot tells the story of Enidor and the crew of the Nefelgar, as curses and dark forces haunt them. I really loved the blend of suspense and detailed descriptions that the author used. Thanks to the vocabulary chosen and the wonderful pace of the narrative, I was able to follow the storyline perfectly. The writing aspect, as well as the content of the plot itself, is a 10 for me. I had a wonderful time reading this novel. 5 stars for sure.

This was a very strange book that I almost did not finish. I struggled to finish and really just skimmed the last two chapters. Too much of the story came across as a horror story (which I greatly dislike). I know he was try to use metaphors and that Elnarin was supposed to be Christ or God. It did not make the story any better for me.

The book was easy to read, but at times it confused me as it did not follow one story/character. It often would jump to a different part of the story and would take a bit of reading to figure out what was going on. The book was interesting and kept me intrigued to find out what was going to happen with the different characters. I look forward to reading Flame, Light and Song, #2.

When I started the book, I found it a little slow, but then something clicked, and I couldn't put it down. You hang on every word of the characters and get lost in the beautifully built word that engulfs the characters.

I enjoyed this seaworthy tale of legends and creatures encountered upon the Oceans. It's creepy with feelings of aloneness and paranoia. I would recommend this book.
