Trope Alert: Work rivals, enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity
This book was a quick, cozy, and effortlessly enjoyable read. I flew through it in one sitting, completely caught up in the banter, tension, and undeniable chemistry between our two protagonists.
⭐ Rating: 3.5/5 Stars ⭐
What Worked for Me
💼 The setup was fantastic. A stranded together situation caused by their eccentric boss? Loved it! It made for the perfect storm of forced proximity, witty banter, and growing tension.
📖 The writing was smooth and easy to devour. The story unfolded at a great pace, making it the ideal weekend binge-read. Even though the final plot twist was fairly predictable (I saw it coming around the 50% mark), it didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment.
❤️ The romance was well-crafted. I really liked how the author played with the thin line between hate and love. The tension was there, and the transition from rivalry to romance felt natural and satisfying.
What I Wish Was Different
👀 James' POV! While I understand that including it earlier would have made the twist too obvious, I really wish we had at least an epilogue from his perspective—it would have added so much depth!
Final Thoughts
If you’re in the mood for a light, swoony, and fast-paced office romance, Work Trip is a great pick! It’s fun, flirty, and delivers exactly what you’d expect from the trope.
