Saviours
A good story of two people set on saving the world, alone. She’s a nurse, and he’s in security. Sammy grew up feeling like she’s never enough for people to stay, her parents left when she was young, her sister left, and now her brother, who is a SEAL, is always leaving.
After an earthquake, Sammy finds herself helping with relief efforts where she meets James. James is head of security and is helping out because of his military background. After a chance meeting in a cafeteria line, the two are rarely apart, until he gets a phone call one night about a security case he’s working on at home. It’s time for him to go. Which means leaving Sammy.
Sammy finishes off her time with the relief effort and goes home, trying to get back to her normal. Both her and James not knowing that they almost run into each other in their regular lives.
With his boss rushed to hospital, he manages to reconnect with Sammy, and it’s a whirlwind of catching up, trying to save his boss, and figure out how he can stay in Sammy’s life and keep her safe. He wants to stay, but he knows that staying will put her in danger, and the last thing he wants is for her to be in danger.
This was a good story, well written, until the end. It felt like a few parts were jumbled around a bit, like some details were added or changed, but not consistently. Overall, still a very good story, easy to read and the flow was good. Not rushed or drawn out.

Wonderful and unique, unexpected Holiday romance. Sammy is the head ER nurse at one of Chicago’s busiest hospitals. James is a tough Marine that works for a security company. They meet while helping those impacted by an earthquake. This book has excellent characters and storyline. There’s action, mystery, excitement, romance and suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by Ms Rivers.

Good book!
I really enjoyed this story, and the characters were very entertaining. I liked the chemistry between Sammy and James it was smoking hot 🔥 and very intense. There was drama and romance. Read for yourself to find the romance.

Great Story
Misleading title. I kept looking for a grumpy hero but found a hero of many dimensions instead! Love the characters and their interactions! Couldn't put it down!
