There’s no good. No evil. No angels and demons. There’s love and there’s hate… and somewhere between the two, lust finds a way to thrive. It tips the scale. It burns everything to ash.

Wren — Cupid
We’re created from birth to unite soulmates and stop the monsters that would tear them apart. We’re trained to fight, to kill… and born without the ability to feel the thing we give. A cupid can’t feel love. A cupid can’t have a soulmate. And a cupid can’t fall in love with their sworn enemy, with the monster they’re destined to destroy. Until… Theo.

Theo — Enmity
When the world breaks a human, the Enmity can find a place in their heart and turn them into creatures of pure rage. The world has broken me over and over again until I’m not sure there’s anything left but anger. Hatred. Fear. I don’t believe in love, or soulmates… I don’t believe there’s anything out there that could stitch together the wounds that left me vulnerable to the monster I’m becoming. Until… Wren.

~~~
Love’s Ace is a dual POV enemies to soulmates MM Romance with a jaded cupid, a broken man turning into a monster, and the red string that connects them both. Expect high heat, high emotions, and an HEA that defies all odds.
//And just like the rain
So touch me again
I feel my shadow dissolving
Will you cleanse me with pleasure?//
TROPES:
⁀➴ Enemies to lovers
⁀➴ Soulmates
⁀➴ Cupid vs Enmity (angel vs demon?)
⁀➴ ‘Touch him, you die’
I wondered… if his fingers around my throat made the fire that had been trying to build turn to nothing more than ash, what would his lips do?
Didn’t know I needed a dark Cupid romance this Valentine’s Day, but thank you Lee McCormick and your brilliant mind. Holy shit, this was amazing. I’m still crying over here, give me a sec.
We were tethered together, heart to heart, palm to palm. Pain to pain.
An angsty, high heat & high feels, urban fantasy, with a twist on angels vs demons. Wren and Theo’s story is the perfect example of enemies to lovers done to perfection — they fight viciously, they’re meant to hate each other, but they can’t resist the pull of their connection, the threads tied to their souls.
Not only was the romance heartfelt and romantic, but the plot was interesting and unique. And, of course, they were scorching hot together.
An Enmity touching a cupid’s wings was tantamount to suicide. It was dangerous. Deadly. It was… “Fuck you, Theo. Just… fuck.” The most erotic thing I’d ever felt.
Wing kink, anyone?
Hotness aside, you could feel their bond, the underlying love they felt for each other right from the start, the raw passion, the craving. And that just makes the smut 100 times better, doesn’t it?
And I absolutely love the pleasure/pain echo trope, where the MCs are so tied together they feel everything the other person is feeling. And I mean everything.
“Can I take care of you?”
Theo’s story was heart shattering, so much hurt and pain that he doesn’t know what love is, doesn’t know how to let himself be loved. Wren might’ve not known love either, but once the arrow struck it was undeniable — Theo was his. And he showed it to him, that he felt it, that he meant it. And we feel all of it in these pages, all of that love and care and need they have for each other.
It felt like I’d somehow been in a room with Theo for my entire life, and I was only just seeing him.
Love’s Ace was a beautiful love story, two people finding each other through fate, finding the other half of themselves. I would read a thousand more pages of these two, and I’m so happy they found their HEA.
“It was worth all the pain. My whole life, every bit of it… I understand now.
It was worth it to have one day with you.”
Bonus quote, because it was the one that broke my heart into tiny little pieces [I’m still sobbing Lee, how could you do this to me?]:
“One second, Wren. Fuck, I just wish we could have one more. It’s never enough, is it?”
"He leaned in, so close I could see the rain catching in his lashes, so close the violet of his eyes were like gravity, like universes. Like the end of forever, pulling me in."
I haven't really enjoyed an MM PNR for a long time, but Lee McCormick absolutely nailed it in Love's Ace, which is a literal good vs evil power struggle between a Cupid and an Enmity (think angel and demon).
Love's Ace is the first book in the author's Twisted Fate series and this is Wren and Theo's story.
What To Expect:
🖤MM PNR
🖤Enemies to lust to soul mates
🖤Dark themes
🖤Forced proximity
🖤Opposites attract
🖤Touch him and ☠️
🖤All the angst
🖤All the steam
🖤HEA
I absolutely inhaled this one and it comes highly recommended in this genre!
YEAHHH unfortunately this is just not working out for me. i am struggling to connect to these characters, their motivation and their purpose. there's a lot of pushing and shoving but there's no substance to this behaviour. i'm about half through and i'm just not getting it. happy others loved this but from what i've read so far, this just isn't meant for me.
“Cupids weren’t allowed to feel the gifts they were born to give.”
In this mesmerizing tale of fate and forbidden love, Theo and Wren find themselves bound by an unyielding tether—one that neither of them asked for nor fully understands. Their connection defies the rules, igniting a reluctant yet undeniable bond that challenges everything they know.
Theo, burdened by the ghosts of his past, carries wounds invisible to the eye but sharp enough to cut deep. His memories are haunted by darkness, making love feel more like a risk than a refuge. For Wren, this tether is a revelation, a force of nature unlike anything he’s ever known—a love so raw and consuming that it transcends logic itself.
As they navigate the struggles that threaten to tear them apart, their relationship evolves beyond mere romance. It becomes something elemental, a cosmic entanglement of souls that grows stronger with every hardship. Through heartbreak and healing, Theo and Wren prove that love is not just a choice but an inevitability—an unstoppable force capable of transforming even the deepest pain into profound intimacy.
A poignant exploration of love’s power to heal, defy, and endure, this novel is a beautifully woven tapestry of passion, fate, and the unbreakable bonds that tether us to our truest selves.
“We were tethered together, heart to heart, palm to palm. Pain to pain.”
💘 What to expect 💘
~High heat
~Touch him and die
~Reluctant soulmates
~Wing kink
~Sexy Cupid
~Slight blood play
~Touch starved/touch averse
~Hurt/healing
~Hard earned HEA
ARC review
I just adored this book. My God, it was fantastic.
Wren was a cupid but not very with it. He didn't feel love or lust and he was tired of giving it to other people but never to himself.
And then everything changed when he met Theo. He's an Enmity, or almost, and they are mortal enemies. These two species are meant to kill the other. But somehow, they end up with a soulmate bond. They try to deny it so hard but it's impossible, they just can't stay away from each other, literally, and their bond just deepens more and more.
Theo was so broken, that poor boy. The way he kill himself if that made Wren's life easier and full. That kind of love, my God.
Wren was there for Theo and Theo was his protector too. I loved their bond and how it grew in a matter of days. Their love was just theirs and they weren't willing to give it up.
Netflix are you listening? I'd watch this show! 🏹💘‼️
This is pretty inventive, a seemingly impossible situation locking these opposing entities together.
It's been a while since I've read PNR and enjoyed it. It's reminiscent of Gena Showalter books with all the wing play.
So darkly romantic and emotional.
The drama is deep and painful.
A beautiful story
Notes as reading:
-place holder note: Until I read the whole story I'm not 💯% sold on this otherwise beautiful story because of the insta arrow soulmates thing. It feels technically forced. I need proof they were always meant to be together.
*After finishing the story I see that they were always meant to be, but still, there was a thin thread of disconnect for the longest time which made the 'love' a little unconvincing. That said, the HEA drama was sublime and made the book perfect for me.
Wren and Theo would make exquisite real life characters, they are absolutely gorgeous.
Enemies to lovers, Soulmates, Hurt/Comfort, Cupid v Enmity (Angel v Demon), Accidental bonding, Oops my wings are ~sensitive~, I’ll fight God to keep you
😍😍😍
Back to back, a wall between us. A red line stretching even though we’d tried and failed to make space, distance.  A thread keeping him alive. A thread keeping me here.
This is THE Valentine’s Day book.
Basically a Cupid who’s never felt emotion before and a broken man slowly becoming a monster fall in love and decide to fight god for the right to stay together.
My heart broke over and over for Theo (and Wren and Sephtis and Gethin but omg precious human bean Theo 🥺) and I was so mad on his behalf because he didn’t ask for any of the shit he went through that led to him becoming a monster. It’s not fair but thankfully once Wren gets past his prejudice he acknowledges that Theo deserves better. He’s so good and patient with Theo and gives him space to learn how to trust. It’s soooooo swoony and romantic. I just loved how every time Theo expected a negative reaction or got defensive, Wren was there to show him love and compassion.
Angsty, spicy, and action-packed - esp the scene in Erin’s house where Wren becomes vengeance personified. I was just hooked from start to finish. The ending was satisfying with enough left open for future books (hopefully at least Sephtis and Gethin) because I need more answers!
Maybe we’d die, but we would die holding hands, we’d die trying. We’d die together.
DNF @34%
In the interest of dnf'ing more when I'm truly struggling with a book, I finally gave in and called this quits at 34% into this.
I'm just *struggling* with this and idk why, exactly. But It's been 4 days and I've only reached a third of the way through this...It's like I start and hit a stop point pretty soon, every time, where I just want to be doing anything else.
I just haven't connected with this. I know I can enjoy this author and their work, I've 4 and 5 starred almost all their work before (except for a 3.5 or so), so I still very much like this author.
But there have been times their work has been a bit slow and not as engaging as others, and this was just...an extreme example, I think.
I really hate to do this, but I'm just inching forward at this point and it'll take me forever to finish this at this point.
Theo and Wren are fine, okay characters. There's nothing exactly egregious about them or this story...there's just nothing exciting either. Something about just isn't working for me.
Which is stranger, because I see how many other 5 star reviews and ratings there are, so many others did not have this problem. It was pretty much just me, then.
I just...something about the story didn't grab me like I hoped it would, and Theo and Wren's lack of chemistry didn't help matters for me. The lack of plot also doesn't help matters. Where the relationship is 'eh' the plot could pick this up, the plot is almost nothing aside from the thread of fate stringing them together.
Which could have been fun and interesting and entertaining, but I'm just...not feeling it between them, sorry to say.
I hate to give up on this, I truly do. I hate DNF'ing, it's still something I so rarely do. But I can't keep stopping and starting here, taking 4+ days to finish a pretty simple, regular sized book when I have nothing else going on and all the free time to do it. It's not real life here, just...the story.
So yeah, I'm DNF'ing here and I think it's the best decision for me. It would have taken me forever to finish this if I continued forcing myself to push through. I still enjoy this author and still read other stories by them in the future, this one just didn't work out for me.
Hopefully it works out much better for you guys - as I've seen with many positive reviews, that it went well for many others.
It just wasn't to be for me today.
Ah well, better luck next time.
***ARC Review***
This is my honest and voluntary review for the ARC I received.
Wren and Theo have my heart! McCormick provides an interesting twist on the idea of Cupids and soulmates. Theo is broken and turning into some kind of master. Wren is a killing machine that can’t feel. Wren and Theo are enemies that suddenly find themselves connected by a red string. Fate intervenes and everything both MCs thought they knew changes.
There is a lot of pain and angst in this book. Theo doesn’t know how to be touched without being hurt. Wren is jaded, so he is skeptical when things first take a turn for Theo and himself. Both MCs try to fight the bond thrust upon them. Eventually they grow to trust one another and form a bond so strong that the laws of their reality cannot tear them apart. McCormick packs a big punch full of turbulent emotions in this story. It’s one that will make you want to cheer on this pairing as they fight hard to defy the odds stacked against them.
There’s a ton of feelings in this book. It is simultaneously heartbreaking and heartwarming. While Theo and Wren have a strong emotional bond, there is also a lot of heat and physical connection between them as well. Their chemistry is fiery and impactful and will make you develop a wing kink that you didn’t know you had! Wren and Theo’s dedication to and protectiveness over one another is totally swoon worthy. You will feel a gamut of emotions reading their story, right up until their very hard fought and well deserved HEA.
Check out Love’s Ace today and dive into a world full of intriguing and interesting characters.
A MM Forbidden Romance of Cupid x Enmity, Enemies to Lovers with Soulmates, a red thread that joins them, insults to care, Hurt/Comfort, emotional & bloody action!
These 2 had me tear-up for them so much throughout the story. Devoured my #ARC in 8hrs, Loved Wren & Theo. The cover is gorgeous too!
Wren is a cupid, a being who joins soulmates with arrows, kills their sworn enemy (Enmity) to protect, but can't feel love themself. W's good at his jobs, apathetic, chasing the high of kills, lil angry & lil cool...but becomes so gentle, tender & passionate 🥺.
Theo is a human hurt by his circumstances (TW), giving way to becoming Enmity, a being of pure hatred. T's untrusting, feels broken, kills to be safe, so alone...he made my heart hurt 😭. T's a snarky asshole yet cares, feels deeply & with a strength despite all.
“Every broken part of him made him perfect, not less. More. More…mine. He’d always been mine.”
From explosive meet, accidental connections, a ticking time bomb, prejudices & insults to a love that defied the odds. Their hate to care, protectiveness of eachother is beautiful to see. Touch starved affection 😭❤️. Why love if can't keep? Is it worth it?
“For Theo, I was ready to burn."
It's a fast-paced story with mostly situational angst, bloody action, & a climax that gripped me, a favorite 😉! I've read multiple "winged" books this month, yet this is the 1st with wing play heh 🥵. Their chemistry build-up is good & I love me vers couple! Ending's sweet, would've loved an epilogue. I hope we get G-man's & Aiden's books.
P.s. We didn't actually get to see much of "Love's Ace" (IYKYK) lol.
“I love you, okay? Maybe it doesn’t make sense, but I fucking love you so much it hurts, so much I can’t think around it, can’t breathe around it. I love you so much that the thought of someone who hurt you existing for another second drove me crazy.”
“Wren…”
“You wanted to know? Then listen to me. I love you enough that I’ll break all the rules. I’ll kill anyone who tries to hurt you. I will kill anyone who tries to take you away from me. I love you. I love you, Theo.”
╰•★★ Wren «cupid» & Theo «Enmity» ★★•╯
I really liked these two. At first, I thought that what they were feeling was just because of the bond, but then I realized that they actually loved each other. Deeply. I could feel their love and they could feel what the other felt, it wasn’t just the bond keeping them together.
“No one is killing you. No one is hurting you. No one is taking you away from me, Theo. Do you understand?”
One of the reasons my rating dropped was the endless internal monologues and descriptions without dialogue, or worse, interrupting a conversation. I needed them to TALK more because these two had so much potential, the lack of dialogue left me wanting more, and it got to the point where I started skipping unnecessary descriptions. But that backfired so fast because their thoughts were where you really saw them developing their feelings.
If I had to lose myself to something…“Wren?”
If I had to lose myself, it was going to be to Wren.
Honestly? If I had read this book at a different time, my rating would probably be higher and i would be more tolerant? Idk, I’ll give it a few days, maybe reread it, and see if I change my mind because their relationship and bond deserve more.
”You’re paying the price for us. Why?”
“Look at you. Look at your connection… A cupid and an Enmity with a bond stronger than anything I’ve ever seen. That’s worth saving.”
╰•★★ Gethin and Liam ★★•╯
”Gethin is different than the rest of us. When they first tried to make him, they thought it didn’t take. He was raised as a human and he fell in love with one of the boys he grew up with. And when he turned eighteen, he sprouted his wings.”
“They took them because of that?”
“No, they took his wings because he kept killing anyone who got close to Liam.”
I need a book about these two. The little I got from their story and especially how much I saw of Gethin left me craving more. He deserves his own book, his own story. The moment he showed up, he had my full attention, so yeah, I need his book.
“And I thought I was an asshole.”
“Why don’t you try having wings ripped from your spine, then we can talk.”
Anyways, it was a good book, and the biggest highlight for me was their connection and relationship.
P.S. Chapter 31 still hurts.
ARC
Man these two truly could not stand to see each other! But that arrow of Fate🫠 it sure had other plans and wow. I’m in love with those plans🥹
Wren, our stunning violet-eyed absolutely perfect Cupid was NOT going to fall in love without a fight, that’s for sure😂 which was quite the sight, definitely laugh worthy at times.. but daaaamn, where we ready to face the fact that cupids are just. So. Hot?🥵 not sure actually.. I got ready though, don’t worry lol
And Theo, baby🥹❤️‍🔥 full of love to give, full of rage and completely shattered, like your favorite antique vase. This precious bean fought so hard to survive, even when everything was trying to make him fail and succumb to the Enmity. But apparently that’s nothing a little certain Cupid’s wings can’t cure🤤😈
But really… who doesn’t love two sworn enemies stuck together? Who doesn’t love Fate meddling with soulmates? Everybody, that’s who. Every last one of us loves it, and if you don’t, you’re lying and you’re also wrong. So that’s it. I’ve said it. Deal with it.
SO! Where is my personal murdery jealous and also very sexy Cupid at? Lee? I’m waiting.
Also… why did this book end? Where’s the rest of it? I need more. Thank you. Bye.
Love’s Ace is an enemies to lovers MM romance story about Wren and Theo.
Wren is a jaded Cupid that can’t feel love. He is immortal unless killed by his only enemy, the Enmity. Theo is a broken man that was turning into a monster, and on his way to becoming an Enmity. When fate steps in, Wren and Theo find themselves bonded, and everything changes.
Wren and Theo start off by wanting to kill each other. They quickly learn that they could feel each other, so they would end up hurting themselves if they tried to harm one another. They just had to figure out how to safely sever their connection.
The more time Wren and Theo spent together, the harder it was for them to resist each other. It was beautiful to see their connection deepen and for them to accept the inevitable. My heart broke for Theo and everything he had gone through, and I wanted nothing more than to give him all the hugs. I loved how Wren and Theo became so protective of each other. I got nervous because I wasn’t sure how things were going to work out for them. But in the end, the sacrifices Wren and Theo were willing to make for each other were everything. They definitely deserved their HEA.
I received an advanced copy of this book, and this is my honest review.
A Joyfully Jay review.
4 stars
Love’s Ace features a fantasy world set inside the human world. Wren has never known anything other than his life as a cupid. He has spent nearly a century creating the love that he cannot feel. He is prepared to kill Theo until circumstance or fate steps in and bonds them. Wren and Theo fight the bond so hard, it was difficult at first to fall into that place where I could see them as soulmates. Their need for each other felt manufactured at first, rather than truly special, and it took most of the book for me to see truly see them as a couple—and still I’m not so sure of that.
There are several other characters introduced here and they all have interesting stories to tell. This book is not listed with a series name, but it does appear to be the start of one, and I would be interested in checking out the glimpses of other stories that were introduced here.
Loved the premise and both Wren and Theo. The push and pull was so good. Theo trying to battle his wants and needs with the addition of something uncontrollable.
Lee always comes up with the most out of pocket premises for books and I’m never disappointed. 😭
I hope Aiden gets a book because I’m so confused about what’s happening with him 😂
Their love story was so sweet and quick and fun to read.
The ending was kind of confusing but didn’t take away from the overall vibes.
This book took me a while to read because of the internal monologuing. First person POV internal monologuing that goes on for pages and pages isn't my favorite, not even close. I'd much rather prefer more worldbuilding, lore, active dialogue and actions, etc. to further the character building (and growth), as well as the plot.
I adore insta-love, soulmates plots done right and the foundation was there with the interesting "red thread connecting soulmates" concept I've only seen in indie fiction and fanfiction. I wish Theo's trauma and past was elaborated on more earlier while the trust built between him and Wren. It later made sense why Theo was touch averse, but I'm surprised there weren't any flashbacks or the like. His character has really been through a lot even though he's much younger than the immortal Wren.
The final third of the book is where the action and overarching plot (to be expanded on in the sequel, I'm guessing) really started to gain momentum, but I'm still iffy because of the sparse worldbuilding. So, there are humans, cupids, Enmity, and gods in this universe. But then, Theo and Wren go to another universe entirely(?) due to the summoning ceremony. I really wanted more lore and worldbuilding to be fully immersed in more than the love between the main characters.
Additionally, Lee McCormick can write intimate scenes that make you feel like a melted marshmallow. Or on fire because of the sensuality at times. Stories with winged characters don't always delve into what I refer to as "wingplay" and this had a lot of it. Big fan of how those scenes were written.
Finally, I did appreciate Wren and Theo flying together. Very cute and got me a lil in my feels.
Liam Dicosimo!! I could listen to him just reading the paper, and I'd love it. He was so good!! I loved the emotion and depth he gave Theo and Wren.
Michael Gallagher was equally good,I loved his voice 😍 His Theo was amazing 👏🏽 I had a great time listening. I already loved Wren and Theo, and listening to them come alive was even better!!
Theo! 😭
This book had me in a chokehold. Theo had my heart from the start. He was so angry and lost 😔
I loved how vulnerable he was, even if he didn't want to be.
Wren 😍 He was angry and jealous of the humans who got to feel everything.
Together, these two opposites were just perfect. I loved their dynamic. And the sacrifices they were willing to make for one another....💔😭
Those last few chapters had me sobbing. I loved their story so much.
The side characters were very well written, I enjoyed Aiden and Gethin... i wanted to know so much more about Gethin's story. And the twist with Aiden 👀
The first time I read Love’s Ace, I was already obsessed with Wren and Theo.
Their enemies to lovers tension wrapped in that unbreakable red thread of fate had me absolutely hooked.
But then I listened to the audiobook, and holy fuck — it was like stepping into an entirely new dimension of their story.
Liam DiCosimo and Michael Gallagher were perfection as narrators.
They brought Wren’s sharp, aching edges and Theo’s raw, desperate need to life in a way that felt like I was living inside their bond. Every emotion, every clash, every surrender hit harder.
The soulmate magic I loved on the page became almost unbearable in my ears...in the absolute best way.
I cannot stress enough how beautiful this story is. The coming together of souls that were created to hate and kill each other. The creation of a bond so strong that even the vow 'Til death do us part' doesn't suffice. This is the story of a cupid and a human turning into a Enmity in just a week.
Theo is our human who is caught in the process of turning into the one entity that Wren, a cupid, had been programmed to kill.
What started as a near death meeting that had the two having MAJOR trust issues around each other turned into a love so sweet and deep that felt well nurtured, tender and honestly longer than the book itself.
I thoroughly enjoyed the hate-to-love troupe that was well written in this book. You could actually taste the hate, the anger and the agony these two MCs had as well as the trust, love, and purity in their love despite it being tainted with the corruption that's eating up at Theo.
I had the most fun with these MCs and I actually came to the point of being teary-eyed towards the end of the book because man, I was definitely not ready for THAT.
I loved seeing the growth Theo went through and how supportive and attentive Wren was to Theo and how he noticed the nitty gritty signs that most people would have overlooked when it came to Theo and his... issues.
Gosh, I'm kinda sad that their story ended now. I will miss these to wholeheartedly and I learned a lot from these two.
Ohhh Theo.
I’ve known about Theo for... gosh, months now? I’ve been using the hashtag of #savetheo because I KNEW. I KNEW what kind of pain Lee would put these two through, once they’re together and what they’ve both been through on their own. I have been yelling at Lee to save Theo and here we finally are, getting his story.
Honestly, these two were precious and I loved seeing them start off their rocky relationship with bitterness and hatred and how that slowly, slowly turned into something more. I loved how Wren kept commenting on how strange it was for Theo to fight the Enmity for as long as he had (ALMOST LIKE HE WAS WAITING FOR SOMEONE WREN), and how Wren’s wings kept wanting to come out around Theo, and how the Ardor should have definitely worn off by now.
Then there’s my precious baby Theo. I knew I’d love Theo but I didn’t know I’d love him *THIS* much. He’s so damn broken and afraid of being touched but craves Wrens hands on him. Calming him. Eventually, finally, someone bursting into his life and loving him like he deserved. Loving him like they only had one night left together.
These two were absolutely perfect together and I’m so glad Wren’s wings were absolutely horny for Theo.
Thank you Lee for bringing these two to life and giving us their beautiful story!
⭐ Enemies to Lovers
🖤 Wing Kink
⭐ Touch him and 🩸
🖤 Fates soulmates
This book was everything I didn't know I needed!
This is not a sweet little Cupid’s story for Valentine’s day! This is more of a Dexter kind of Valentine's Day 😅 and I’m so here for it!!
Wren is a Cupid and his purpose is to unite soulmates, without being able to feel love himself.
Theo is becoming an Enmity, having been broken by humanity, the Enmity has fed on his rage and blackened his soul. He’s the very monster that Wren was taught to kill, to protect the soulmates.
Until they meet, and something goes wrong… fate has other plans for them apparently.
Theo broke my heart, bur Wren was there to piece it back together 🖤
I felt everything that they felt, the way it’s written made me live and breath and feel their story through their eyes.
It was a beautiful tale of intricate love, resilience, survival, fighting against all odds and hard earned HEA…
I really hope this is the beginning of a new series because I won't mind having the story of a few characters that we meet….
I received a free copy of this book via GRR and am voluntarily leaving a review.
If you have read any of Lee’s work before you know the MC’s can be quite stabby. While there is stabbing and arrows and gratuitous gore, all that stabby energy they bring to a book was put INSIDE the MC’s.
Inside people. All the battling and fight they put into the men and then let us see it. The war between love and fear, love and trust, self hate and belief, was amazing and the healing beautiful.
Wow that was so good! At one point it literally ripped my heart out of my chest and shattered it before piecing it back together. And let tell you, lots of twists I didn’t see coming and I loved every moment of it. Wren and Theo are enemies, fighting a war of good va evil. And while Theo might be on the monster side, he tries so hard to fight it, to fight what is taking root in his soul. Fate has intervened and created a bond where it shouldn’t be possible between a Cupid, who can’t have a soulmate, who can’t feel love and lust and a human that is half enmity, a monster rooted in darkness that feeds on the broken. And Theo is broken. Wren is a jaded Cupid, Theo a strong human fighting the change that has experienced nothing but pain in his life. These two enemies now are stuck together and must fight together and fight for each other. Their connection and bond strengthens with every touch, every brush of skin, and soft kiss, of every confession of love and physical connection of love. Their bond is beautiful and deadly. They’ll have to fight with everything they have to keep one another. The characters are so well written, so endearing and snarky and feisty and wonderful. The plot is unique and kept me on my toes, sucked me in and didn’t let me go. There are sexy, steamy scenes and scenes that are sweet and tender. This book has everything you could want. And I couldn’t put it down.
