This book deserves its own category in the dark romance genre. Anna is a unique female lead who has sadly been abused her whole life. There was so much hype around this book I had to give it a chance. I have very few triggers but had to stop at some points due to the intensity of the scenes.

Devin is the ultimate villain and Alex is the perfect hero. I definitely went through all the emotions and that cliffhanger …… like why just why.

For better or worse this story is addictive and will be one of those books that will haunt me.

One word……. OUTSTANDING ‼️

Marissa Honeycutt describes her writing as “if Stephen King got together with Tom Clancy and wrote an Erotic Book.” But I would disagree! Marissa writes Dark, Twisted and Erotic like no others. If you love Deep Dark Romance stories that have you emotionally on the edge of your seat like I do, you will Love, Love, LOVE The Life of Anna ACT 1.

Marissa’s ability to write about Love, Cruelty and Depraved Darkness with a Paranormal twist will have you so engrossed, leaving your soul aching, and in insuppressible tears. The Anniversary addition of The Life of Anna ACT 1 tells the story of Anna, a unique young girl who was taken suddenly from her loving parents only to be controlled and tormented by Delvin a family acquaintance. He is more than just evil, he is a man you can only describe as a psychopathic devil. She can only be saved by one person, Alex. He is the perfect hero, flaws and all.

The torment Anna endures for four plus years is filled with dark, twisted, unimaginable devious evil within the bad side of the Brotherhood World led by Devlin. However, Anna was bonded by her father to Alex a German within the good side of the Brotherhood World in hopes to keep her safe. Unfortunately, Devlin hid her away for those four years torturing and controlling her to be a sex slave. But remember there is that mystical bond between Anna and Alex. So, Can Anna survive the depraved cruelty Devlin thrust upon her? Is Alex strong enough to battle Devlin? Will the bond between Anna and Alex be strong enough to save Anna from the darkness Devlin has created?

Well, I won’t spoil it for you…….You will just have to read “The Life of Anna ACT 1 ” yourself. This is a book you won’t be able to put down! Be forewarned though, this book will send you on a rollercoaster of emotions! And unfortunately a slight cliffhanger, but don’t despair ACT 2 is already available.

I first read “The Life of Anna” when it was broken into 5 books back in 2016. This is my second time reading “ The Life of Anna “ as a rewrite as ACT1 ( and ACT 2 ) and I must admit this time it was even better! Marissa has this wonderful ability to not only create darkness like you’ve never seen, but also a story that is incredibly imaginative, intriguing, and captivating!

I first read this story in 2015 The Life of Anna:The Complete Dark Story.
So when I found out Ms. Honeycutt was coming out with a tenth anniversary edition, I jumped at the chance to read the new version. And she absolutely did not disappoint!
This book is the measure for dark romances. The author is the queen of dark.
The writing is outstanding, the plot and storyline phenomenal and the characters unforgettable.
Anna is such a strong and resilient young lady. She has been through horrific horrors.
Delvin is the most depraved, evil and vile villain I’ve come across.
Alex the imperfect perfect hero. All three of these characters are remarkable in their own rights.
Once I started I could not put it down. But this beauty is 800+ pages so unfortunately I had to stop for sleep.
The story is gripping and utterly captivating. It’s terrifying and consuming.
It had my emotions and feelings all over the place. A roller coaster of a ride filled with ups and downs and twists and turns.
It still haunts me and lingers in my mind. And for me that is a mark of an outstanding book.
I am excited and looking forward to reading Act 2.

The second time round was just as good. My heart broke for Anna all over again. This story of love, hate and punishment is a roller coaster of emotions.
