Book two in the serial doesn't get any less confusing! It gets even more convoluted and I was totally lost. More lost than Nancy!

I do not know what to say about the plot. It is a mixed narrative, so you finally get into Jaxon's head. It is just as twisted as you would expect. Not sure why I keep reading, other than I am invested and just want to know how it ends.

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Marami Hung, who is fantastic. She has a great energy and sucks you further into the book. She is a big part of why I kept listening and needed to finish the serial. Her tone is pleasing and the energy she puts into it is engaging. It is a nice pace, but I like it a little quicker, so I punched up the speed.

*** I hope this review was useful to you and helped your decision to read or not read this book. I love reading and sharing my opinions with other readers. I listen at double speed; all my impressions of the narration are from that setting. Thanks for taking the time to read my review! 5 Stars!

The Love Trials 2 by J. S. Cooper picks up right were the Love Trials 1 left off. Nancy confronts Jaxon about the disturbing conversation she has overheard. His explanations leave her reeling with all kinds of confusion. Despite her inner instincts to cut her losses and run far away from the Love Academy she choses to stick it out. After all there is a mystery to solve, facts to be found, feelings to be explored, choices over which man to chose, and a profound need for self preservation.

The longer she remains at the Lovers Academy, more questions begin to build a fragile reason to hang on to her original motivations for attending the Lovers Academy in the first place. She has learned that Jaxon and his father have a vendetta against her newly found father, Brandon. The more she learns, the more she questions her newfound relationship with her father and her place in the family unit. She also begins to question her feelings about Hunter. The more she learns, the more twisted it becomes. Hunter is not all she thought he was. He also has an agenda.

Jaxon, on the other hand is not playing his hand completely. On one hand he seems to care about her as a person and as a student. On the hand, he also has a vendetta that could very well destroy her and her family. The only thing that makes him different from Hunter and his father is his honesty about his involvement. She knows he is involved but not the whole story. She has to make a choice on whether to trust him or cut her losses.

Just as things start surfacing, new questions lead the story down another path. It ends with a startling cliffhanger that has your jaw on the floor! I cannot wait for The Love Trials 3.

J. S. Cooper has mastered the art of writing a serial romance. She creates intrigue, mystery, and hair raising scenes. She adds red hot sexual tension loaded with passion. She creates a line up of dynamic characters and brings characters from the former Ex Games & Private Club into play. It is like reading an ongoing saga that features different characters in each serial but blends the former serial with a perfect balance in their world.

I must say the editing and flow of the story was perfection.

"I had a feeling that sex was going to be the undoing of Nancy, but what scared me most was that she was going to be the undoing of me."

Part Two of the Love Trials begins where part one ends. Nancy is determined to find out the truth and she goes in search of Jaxson. However, she happens to run to Hunter and he confesses that he has been dreaming of her and has has a secret crush on her. Although this pleases Nancy, there is something off about Hunter and lets not mention the fact that her dreams center around Jaxon!

Once she finally catches up with Jaxon, he confess part of the truth. They are using her for revenge against her father! But for whatever reason, Nancy feels that she can trust Jaxon and she really want to try and get to know him better.

Jaxon is getting close to Nancy and he doesn't know what to do just that he wants her. Nancy is slowly becoming more confident. Could these two become more then possible lovers? Only time can tell.

Oh the twists and turns of this serial is spellbinding! I cannot wait for part three... this is getting really really good!!

let me ask, why Brandon Hasting has so much enemy?

i really enjoy the former two of this series, The Ex Games and Private Club.
but this is something totally different. i dont feel connected to the character.
the hero is too distant. i dont feel the chemistry between the two main character.
i see some recuring theme here. a mysterious place where an illegal things might be take place, then an eavesdropping that gaveaway some info, then confrontation that leaves the two main character together, then another higher character that puppeting whole show, then another suspicious hero appear. the different is this getting old because it is not about the Private Club anymore. also the element of surprise only comes out in last chapter, make me want to read the next out of curiosity, sans the enjoyment. like i am forced to read the next.

the one star different i give to the second book is from the surprise apperance of Brandon Hasting and Greyson Twinning in this book.

Short and enticing

Nancy is underestimated and more complex than viewed by other characters. Leaves off with another cliffhanger, as almost all these author's creations. I enjoy the long complicated characters that are linked between series, it creates more complex characters.

The full review can be found here.

My bad with the previous review... I forgot all about the plot, and tiny things... LOL. Sorry.

So, from the beginning. You remember Nancy, right? The naive, sweet girl, Brandon's daughter? Well, she is about to hit a journey to a teenager dream. Reconnect with an old teacher of hers. But this Lover's Academy she sees herself in, is not what she was expecting. Hunter, the teacher in question, slipped her mind thousand times to settled on Jaxon, the guy she seems to fear, and investigate at the same time.

So, The Love Trials, volume one, ended with that creepy cliffhanger, that made you think, "well, she's dead next, or when she truly falls in love with Jaxon". I'm still not sure what's next, because, JS will make you sweat before you reach the end.

Here's what truly happened on this book: Jaxon is indeed falling for Nancy, Nancy is this close falling for him…
And maybe her former teacher might be into the scheme she's now trying to piece together. But as like any other woman in these type of books, their brains kinda go puff just because there’s a man in the picture, which I hate reading about. My opinion on this character is about to change, drastically! Brandon and Greyson showing up will put more wood to this weird fire. And someone's murder will leave you hanging.

Audiobook review
This book is part 2 of 3. This book picks up right where part 1 leaves off. Nancy overhears a conversation between Jaxon, her "instructor", and his father, the owner of the school. Boy is Nancy pissed after she hears what they were talking about! She marches off towards her room and runs into Hunter, the school teacher she has had a thing for since High School, and the reason she is there in the first place! They finally get a chance to talk since she has arrived, and it isn't a good thing.
Nancy is conflicted now, with her feelings for Hunter, and now some that she has developed for Jaxon. Jaxon gets on her last nerve sometimes, but she is also extremely attracted to him, it's annoying! For Nancy, not for me, lol..The foreplay between them is HOT and hard to deny for either of them that they do have chemistry.
The narrator Marami Hung's performance is great! I love how she performs, and not just reads the book. She gives the characters life, attitude, and sensuality!
I will be jumping on the third part ASAP, and I highly recommend this book!

First off I'll mention that I feel I can't fairly review this book. The main character is 18 years old and I think this would be a much better read for someone 18 - 20 something age range. The story-line is for a much younger based than myself and that was my only issue with this book.
Otherwise, Although this is a short story, you really get a lot of background info that helps you really get to know the characters and really helps build the plot. However, I did continue on and read the novellas in the order given on Goodreads. The Ex Games novellas 1-3, then The Private Club novellas 1-3 and then The Ex Games #4 (After the Ex Games) and then The Love Trials novellas 1-3.
I did enjoy some of the novellas more then the others but I think anyone in the 18 - 20 something age range who likes this genre would enjoy these novellas.

Well part 2 was even better than the first part. Nancy is conflicted, she's not sure if she should stay or go home. I believe Jaxon is falling for her and he's not sure about his feelings. Hunter finally speaks to her, says he does remember her, but he says something that doesn't sit well with Nancy. Of course we are left with a cliffhanger, who done it, that's all I'm saying. J.S., you have done it again, I read this in about 2 hours. Once I started reading this book I couldn't make myself put it down, and that's because it keeps me wanting and needing to know what is coming next. Thank you, for knowing what we want and giving us more. If you want to know what else is going on, then please go 1-click it.

The mystery of the Lovers Academy continues in The Love Trials 2. Nancy is confused about what she heard Jaxon and his father discussing. She is finally approached by Hunter, but she is not sure how she feels about him now. Nancy confronts Jaxon and he tells her bits of the truth about his fathers vendetta against her father, Brandon Hastings. Jaxon experiences feelings for Nancy that he doesn't want to admit. He goes all alpha male on her and "punishes" her in an oh so good way. And in true JS Cooper style, we are given some hot, hot, sexual tension and one heck of a cliffhanger! Omg I can't wait for The Love Trials 3 to come out!!

GOOD BUT SHORT

I'm not sure I like the very short stories of a series. It's like being given a few chapters of a good book and having to wait for the end. At least I waited to read them after the last released story.

This one didn't have much story to it. Still don't know why or what Jaxson is doing to her and what his and his father's intended outcome. I do know his father is a treacherous and very wicked man who I hope gets his. Brandon and Grayson probably took his father down for the way he treated women and just people in general. Good for them!!!

Wow!

...Say it isn't so! My mind is completely blown right now, I don't even know how to feel about this!

I never intended to read this series.. The synopsis just didn't catch my attention. It wasn't until I read a review from a book blog that made me decided to read another one of these short, steamy series that I apparently can't get enough of.

I am so glad I 1-clicked part 1 and 2... this story just keeps getting better, hopefully part 3 will be out soon!

Nancy is finding out that there are things she's not supposed to know and she's trying to figure out what is the truth now. Hunter is around, but Nancy finds herself more drawn to Jaxon and vice versa. Jaxon's POV shows up in this installment. Although Nancy's acceptance to the Academy was purposeful and part of a bigger plot, it's still unclear what her role would be in that plot. There's a cliffhanger on this one and I can't wait to read the final portion when it comes out.

Wow, on pins and needles. Nancy and Jaxon are one hot and sexy couple. Their sexual feelings for each other are off the charts. Again with the mystery JS Cooper. I absolutely love trying to think what's going to happen next. Plus always with all the secrets. Her books really get you thinking. I love all her books and am adding this one to the list. Can't wait for the next and final book in the series.

Ech, jakie to dziewczę naiwne. Jaxon karmi ją półprawdami i kłamstwami, a ona mu ufa...

This is a serial. I read other serials that have shared characters. You learn that the story is about revenge. The storyline is sometimes difficult to follow and well rather unbelievable but that is fiction. You are not missing much if you decide not to read it.
