Our magic crystals are growing.

People arrive in the village faster than we can make room for them, but at least they find plenty to do here—from building the village to guarding the border against attacks by bandits and monsters. And not just any monsters, but monsters that haven’t been seen in this neighborhood before.

Is that a coincidence? Or are rumors of something going on outside the borders of the Empire not just rumors?

Whatever’s behind them, I'll deal with it!

Good story! Overpriced!

I really enjoyed this book. The MC was well envisioned and realistic for a fantasy novel. I really appreciated the balance of action and storyline. Too many books of fantasy spend several chapters on one fight scene and one paragraph on storyline. This book is a fast paced tale I read in one sitting.
The reason I only give it 3 stars is the price. As much as I enjoyed this book, I don't think I'll buy the next in the series. I've noticed that the Russian authors are asking a lot more for their novels and the price is going up.
I am not criticizing the story. Just the price. I won't be starting any new series by Russian authors who use this pricing model, even though they provide quality work. You don't get more milk by beating the cow! If I have to choose between buying an overpriced book or carton of eggs. The eggs win!

Good story but short…

The story continues without many surprises. Many similar plots out there with fewer grammar issues, but it’s a fun genre. The rating is 2 1/2 a stars for being half a 5-star book. I was hesitant to pay 8.99 for the Ebook and I recommend saving your money since the plot fails to move very much.

Series is good, but expensive

The series is good and entertaining, but the books are pretty short for something you have to pay like $9 for.

Not sure I’ll buy the next one.

I received a review copy of this book.
Second installment of the world in which this story takes place, and while it's nothing earthshattering, it does setup a lot of scenes for future books. The ending is especially interesting, setting the hook for the next book. Should be interesting all around. This one might move slower than some readers would like, but I think it's moving along at a decent enough pace. There's not as much action in this one as some might hope, but we still have many clashes with wild beasts, (not all of them natural), many crystal clearing missions, though the details on most of them were more glossed over than anything else, but that's ok, because the concentration in this one was for development purposes, so I think the next book will be way more interesting. Looking forward to it.

very engaging story, more of a base building saga than progression

Well written story of an isakied noble who ends up in the body of another minor noble brat. He decided to use the better mystic knowledge of his world to advance by building his own kingdom.

He values people over possessions, unlike most nobles. He makes waves, gaining enemies that attack directly, send assassins and spies. He also gains quality retainers and cohorts.

The storyline advances well as he faces protection racketeers, monster waves, bandits and of course other nobles with hidden agendas. There are also two women, maybe three that he has an interest in, but he’s moving slowly and carefully in that direction.

The book ends with two neighbors conspiring and bringing forth an army to oppose his rapidly growing settlement.

Narrator is a like a stake through the heart and all the nails in the coffin for the audiobook version of this book.

Hannibal Hills voices nearly every character as if they were caricatured of Giants shouting at each other from one Hilltop to another at all times. It is headache inducing and just plain awful.
There are also volume dips so lowering the overall volume to try mitigating the overall shouty'ness of the narration just results in one missing out on what's read during said volume dips.

Entertaining Read

Baron Sharky has many obstacles to building his town. Predators, both human and monster, try to destroy or steal what he has built. Battle, economic progress, strategy, and construction ensue. I like the action, humor, and intrigue. I look forward to the next book.

Good, but the price?

Story is very enjoyable, but lots of Russian LitRPG is getting priced recently at $8.99, so I’m having to consider is it worth it since I’m already paying for ku. I already stopped reading one series after the price increase.

Outstanding

I like the story even more than comparable works by Oleg Sapphire as the removal of minor antagonists is not dragged out forever for drama reasons without making the antagonists seem trivial either. Kudos!

I will be looking forward to reading the next installment of the series!

Lost 2 stars for NOT writing a Recap.

I think every reader needs to start doing this to force authors to write a quick Recap chapter, which readers can skip if they remember, and those who don't won't stop reading the series.

A lot of action

Good read. I enjoyed it. Why:
Characters!
Storyline! I should say storylines!
Battles!
Great dialogue.

I am very vested in this series. It moves fast and holds my attention. I am in to the next.

Highly recommended.

Good

Well organized and thought out! Even better I see that the author Konstantin Zubov has written more books! I do not usually buy portal progression books! I was hooked reading book 1!

Too expensive for the book length

Well written, good storyline but costs too much for the size of the book. I will look for better value elsewhere.

I like this kind of world building. Especially the progression of construction. Magic and people
