This holiday novella was a real joy to read. Brandy and Max's story offers up a spot-on blend of fun and cuteness that has been combined skillfully with heart, emotions and feels. Sometimes the best things come in little packages and that is absolutely the case with this wonderfully swoony romance.

A short festive frolic

This festive nugget is a short novella in Carly Phillips’ Sterling Family series. It features Brandy - the best friend and colleague of Samantha Dare from the previous book in the series, Just One More Dare. Our hero is someone I don’t think we’ve met before in Ms Phillips’ books, Max Corbin - although he does have links to The Back Door pub which has featured in previous books. But with all that said - this book stands alone and you don’t need to have read anything other book to enjoy this one.
It’s the office Christmas party and Brandy is packing up her office. She’s got one more stint as a Christmas elf and then that’ll be her finished in this office - moving to another in the new year. As her final act in this office, she plans to make a daring move and seduce the man that’s taking over her job. But that’s before she meets the man’s twin brother.
Despite the problems of such, I admit to being slightly disappointed that Brandy immediately identified that the man she’d kissed was not the man she had intended. But despite that, Brandy and Max had delicious chemistry from the first and that didn’t wane throughout the story.
Brandy was a really likeable character. She was feisty but that hid a shy and slightly anxious heart. A child of the foster care system, she’s used to keeping a distance with people - but something about Max made her instantly comfortable. But she only wanted a one night stand so when Max looks for more - of course she’s going to panic. It’s a short book so we don’t get as much detail about Brandy’s life as you might in a longer book - but Max and Brandy definitely got to know each other so that’s all that matters!
Max is a private investigator but his job is barely important in this story other than as a way for Max to disappoint his father. He’s the non-corporate one in the family, very different from his twin brother. He’s not been a player per se, but he’s never settled on one woman. Until he sees Brandy. Then he’s all in. It’s believable, even in such as short time frame and Max comes across as a decent, kind and sexy guy.
At just 71 pages, you can rattle through this story in about an hour. But it’s a hot and fun hour where you’re treated to a short and sweet sampling of everything Carly Phillips is known for - great characters, good sex and delicious connections. This is perfect for fans and newbies alike and a story I would recommend.

Just One More Mistletoe is book 3 in The Sterling Family series and follows Brandy, who we met in Just One More Dare, and Max, twin brother to Brandy's co-worker Stephan.
After the events that happened at the end of Just One More Dare with Samantha, plus receiving a promotion and, now moving to the new office, Brandy has decided she deserves one night with the man of her dreams. Little does she know he has a twin brother.
In a case of mistaken identity, Brandy kisses Max under the mistletoe, instead of Stephan. And wow, what a kiss.
Max is pleasantly surprised with the kiss Brandy lays on him at the company Christmas party. But her comment after the kiss is what strikes him.
He catches up with his brother and asks him about her. Since he knows nothing about her, but wants more from her, he needs to at least know her name. He also learns a little about her passions.
After the party, he takes her for an easy dinner of burgers and fries at The Back Door. He wants to know her, in more ways than one. While talking over their burgers, he learns about her history and why she is so passionate about her endeavors.
Brandy is nervous. For all of her bravado, she does not normally do one night stands. But she gives herself permission this one night. But the experience shakes her to her core. And she bolts.
Although Max has never been close to his brother (can we say family dynamics at work here), he shows up on Stephan's doorstep needing to know where he can find Brandy. This is a major bonding moment for these twins.
Will Brandy be the one to bring this family back together? Will Stephan give Max the information he is seeking? Will Max find Brandy in time? Will he be able to convince her to give him a chance? Will Brandy run again?

This saucy, festive novella was the perfect holiday read, especially coming right after reading Just One More Dare, where we first meet Brandy as Samantha's best friend and PA.
I was pleasantly surprised by how the story didn't rely on a long, draw-out case of mistaken identity, allowing the instant connection between Brandy and Max to take center stage.
With minimal drama, it was a joy to watch their relationship unfold, as Max patiently shows Brandy that she can rely on others and build a family of her own.
This novella offers more depth than I expected, blending heartwarming moments with holiday cheer--a delightful way to get into the festive spirit!

Although a novella the writing is strong and the storyline kept me invested. It was romantic and ticked numerous boxes for me.

A quick read with all the Christmas vibes, I love it.

But before she moves on, she is determined to finally put the moves on her sexy coworker at their office Christmas party—but little does she know that his gorgeous twin is going to be even more enticing. When Max Corbin’s twin brother Stephen invited him to his office party, he isn’t sure why he agreed to show up, but Max’s life changes forever when he sees the beautiful and alluring elf under the tree, and he is determined to make her his own. Brandy and Max soon discover that their attraction is so much more than just chemistry and the pull between them is going to mean more for their futures than they could have ever imagined—if they can let go of their fears and embrace the Christmas gift that has fallen into their laps. I absolutely loved this story of instant attraction, sweet lust, and a love that neither of these two ever wanted or expected that we can see is going to develop into something beautiful. While the story might seem familiar due to familiar tropes, Carly as always makes her characters unique and gives them such life that you can’t help but fall in love with them. Brandy has so many issues and fears that you feel for her immediately and are rooting for Max to get a chance to heal her heart even as you want her to open her mind. Max is a great character, one of those guys that has taken far to long to see the light and is finally finding his way in the world, but that you know if going to be a great partner for Brandy. I am looking forward to seeing more of them in future Sterling Family stories and hope their holiday passion leads to a lifelong love. Thanks for the holiday loving, Carly.

Brandy and Max had fiery chemistry but while she's thinking this is one night only, Max immediately knows that he wants more. So, he has one night to convince her to stick around. But Brandy hasn't been able to really rely on anyone in her life, and she's not sure she can start now.
This was a fun, short holiday story, and I really enjoyed seeing Brandy, who we met in a prior book, get her HEA!

What do you get when you have one mistaken identity, accompanied with a sizzling kiss? You get a insta-love romance with a capital I.
Brandy has been a good girl and keeping her head down and working hard toward her goals of never having to depend on someone. And with New Year approaching and her moving, she decided to break out the good girl role and try and see if the attraction with a certain co-worker is there or is it all in her head. At the Christmas party she indulges and kisses him only to discover that the best kiss of her life belongs to this twin brother.
Max cannot believe his luck. He came to the party because his twin brother invited him and when a gorgeous woman kisses the lights out of him, he knows something special just happened.
As the night progresses and they exchange small pieces of themselves, he knows she might be the one. But her past has left deep scars and when she bolts, he knows nothing will stop him from going after her and proving to her, she can trust and rely on him no matter what.
I've been reading Carly Philips a few years now and I’ve yet to read a book i didn't like by her. I'm not a huge fan of insta-love romances but this one didn't disappoint and for a short story it felt a lot bigger if that makes sense. If you love a holiday themed stories this one is for you.

As the year is coming to an end, Brandy Bloom is ready to start the next chapter of her life away from the bustling city and onto the suburbs of Long Island. Her life has come in a long way and Brady is at a point in her life where she is truly happy. Yet, it’s time to move on and she can’t leave the office until she seduces the man she’s desired for a while now. But her plans to spend the night with Stephan Corbin do not end up working out like she planned. Instead, Brandy finds herself kissing the wrong twin. If it weren’t for his brother that invited him to the office Christmas party, Max Corbin, would never had the chance to meet the gorgeous woman dressed as an elf. The minute their eyes connected, Max knew that she was different from other women. Their electrifying chemistry is what ultimately gives Max the more reasons to make Brandy his for good.
Though the story was short and sweet, Brady’s story packs a punch as she gets to know Max. It’s clear that they have a lot in common and they’re able to relate to each other right away. Brandy’s walls enables her to give people the chance to get to know her. Which makes Max that much more adamant to let her see who he really is and give her the chance to see if they can have their happily-ever-after. Just One More Mistletoe is an interconnected standalone novella in the Sterling Family series by Carly Phillips. I loved the setting and the characters for this novella and loved how the FMC, Brandy Bloom, found a HEA for someone unexpected when she thought she was kissing her boss instead of his twin, Max Corbin.
Brandy ended up with the better twin, who understood her hesitation about being in a relationship and had a lot of patience to win her over, even though he hardly knew her. Max had his own vulnerabilities that he had to work through, and he was thankful to have met someone like Brandy who helped him through them. Although both characters were strangers, once they got to know one another after their one-night stand, they found they had a lot in common, and their chemistry was instant. They were perfect for one another.
Just One More Mistletoe is the perfect spicy novella for a quick and entertaining holiday read. It will get you in the holiday spirit and have you wanting to find your own Max Corbin to kiss under the mistletoe. I give this novella four stars and look forward to reading more from this series and other books that Carly Phillips has written. She’s one of those authors whose books I can finish in a day because they are hard to put down.

It made a cute & spicy Christmas themed novella that works for a quick read to commemorate the seasonal greetings season. I liked the mmc,Max more than the fmc,Brandy. He was a good dude.
The fact that he still went after her and was naturally aware of things regarding her without her actually mentioning it,was insightful and sweet of him.
However I felt the story lacking something though and I wanted more as well as more from their relationship. Coz they had the potential. I understand it was a novella so I can let it slide a bit but regardless. Also the fmc just upping and leaving abruptly felt unnecessary imo 🙈
That aside it was still a decent enough read especially if you wanna squeeze in a quick seasonal book. It has a good mmc as well that makes the story shine.

Just One More Mistletoe is part of The Sterling Family series, however you don't have to have read any of the other books to fully enjoy this one.
Brandy Bloom is the best friend and co-worker of Samantha Dare, who we have met in a previous book. Brandy is heading to the office Christmas party with one goal; to seduce the man she's had her eye on for as long as she can remember! And, she's able to do it because she will be moving to a new office at the beginning of the year and they will no longer be in the same office.
You know what they say about best laid plans, right? When Brandy lays a kiss on the man she thinks she's after, it turns out not to be him at all, but his twin brother, Max Corbin! Max and Brandy have chemistry from the jump and it doesn't take long for them to heat up the pages!
This is a really quick read, but it certainly has a lot of heat and great characters. It was very enjoyable!

This was a short and sweet holiday novella. I loved stepping back into the Sterling family world. Brandy Bloom wants to spend the holidays and new year stepping out of her comfort zone and going after what she wants. At the office Christmas party, she’s going to make her move. However, she ends up kissing the wrong twin.
Max Corbin was attending his brother’s office Christmas party when a beautiful woman catches his eye and kisses him. Her vulnerability reaches a place inside him that he didn’t know was there. Can he really convince her this is for more than one night?
This was a fast paced story but still had all the wonderful elements you’d expect from this author. Max was really sweet to Brandy. She had a rough childhood that made her hesitant to be in a relationship but I loved how patient he was with her. Max knew he needed to show his own vulnerability in order to gain her trust. I loved everything about this story!

If you love the holiday season look no further than this magical little read. Just One More Mistletoe is a novella but it still packs a mighty punch with its wonderful characters and its magical story line, its book 3 in The Sterling Family and it’s a great addition to the series.

This story is fast moving and thorough, leaving nothing out. It’s hot and intense and steamy to boot. Max Corbin is the twin of Stephan Corbin, and Stephan invited him to the office party. Max is a private investigator. Brandy Bloom works for Samantha Sterling, a former Dare at her PR firm. She is moving with Samantha to the new offices on Long Island, so she is free tonight at their Christmas party to seduce Stephan Corbin her crush at the firm who is an associate partner and is staying in Manhattan. At the party, she mistakes Max for Stephan and grabs him behind the tree and kisses him. She realizes it’s not Stephan after the kiss, and so much better. Is it love at first sight for both of them? As far as Brandy Bloom was concerned, what happens at a Christmas party should stay there so she felt secure when she set out to spread a little Christmas cheer under the mistletoe with her colleague, Stephen. Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.
