It’s been ten years since Lexie Lewis left her snow globe home in Peace to become the managing editor of The King Report, a weekly DC publication. While the town has continued to thrive under the watchful leadership of the Lincoln Institute for Social Studies, racial unrest across the country threatens to destroy the social model, and the very existence of the town. Car bombings, an attack on the city administration building, and threats of violence have made the entire community uneasy. The once busy and engaged citizens have withdrawn. Some have even moved. Lexie can't bear to see her hometown torn apart and returns to investigate–despite the risks it entails.
