Bad writing, unnecessary mistakes that could’ve easily been corrected with a Google search (roman noodles instead of ramen noodles and the victim went to the hospital for smoke ventilation instead of smoke inhalation), and a predictable storyline. The two stars was me being generous. I want my time back. 😒
I really enjoyed this story! From the beginning to the end, I was invested in Brylee & Tripp’s story. Single father, Tripp will capture your heart from the beginning & you will soon be emotionally vested in him. He is a firefighter with such a demanding job & single parenthood is literally draining him. When his firehouse is called to a fire at a daycare, he crosses paths with Brylee one of the daycare workers. Soon their paths cross again, and work obligations soon blossoms into a beautiful friendship and more. My first book by Tay Monae but it will not be my last!
Tripp is a fireman who needs a nanny. Brylee is a daycare teacher whose school burned down in a fire so she needs a job. But what happens when it turns into more?
This was such a sweet story. I love a fireman romance, and a nanny romance, lol. Tripp was written really well--he was a man with a lot on his plate and he balanced well. He was dependable and giving, even when it could cost him. He dealt with a lot but he handled it like an adult and took responsibility for his choices. I love when he stopped holding back with Brylee and reached for his own happiness. His relationship with his daughter was super cute and gave all the feels, and I loved his funny and supportive family. Brylee was made for mothering and I love how that showed. She was soft and sweet, but still willing to stand up for herself and her feelings. I like how she lived her life on her terms. Her past with her parents was a tough once, but she was able to wade through and I loved how she never apologized for feeling her feelings.
Brylee and Tripp together were great and the chemistry was there. I love the way they connected and the passion was written fully and well.
I did have some issues with the way addiction was spoken of and treated in the book--some of the language made me a tad uncomfortable. Addiction is so much more complex than what we can write sometimes. I would have loved to see more nuance in those conversations. And I really would have loved to see Tripp get some help or support for his codependency; it's not just addicts who need to quit. Overall, a good read.
2.5 🌟 this book was soooo slow, I had to force myself to sit and read to finish it. It was interesting enough for me to finish but there were so many things that pissed me off and made me wanna throw my kindle. Brylee had major pick me energy, skye is insufferable, and Tripp is dumb asf. He dragged his dealings with Skye way too long and gave her way more energy than she deserved. And the way he described her in her absence, he KNEW but continued to deal with her anyway....... confusion. They honestly shouldn't have even made it to page 1 of this book 😭
Also there were soooo many typos and made up words... rumbustious? Distain? Wrong tenses. Wrong your and you're ... the list goes on. Red lines under words don't mean anything I guess.
Umm hot take but Tripp really played in the bm face. Now yes she needed to get sober for herself but he gave her hope which is still one hell of a drug. Idk I wasn't feeling this one.
I ain’t never want somebody to die so bad útil I met skye she was just a piece of shit tbh iykyk. Overall I like how things came together, I feel as though Tripp should’ve told sky as soon as things happened. He portrayed as a stand up guy but when it was time for actual action of him being that he folded and I didn’t like how Brylee fell for it. I don’t feel as though that was true to her character but I loved the book regardless. Tripp chose Leelee and that’s what it was. I really loved leelee and scottlyns relationship

This is a Romance. I found it overall just to be ok, and I did not find anything special about this book. There was a word used a handful of times in this book that I really hate and it made me mad to have it used in this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
The story was alright but I didn’t like the direction it was headed. No matter how the cookie crumbles the MMC was in a relationship and the FMC was aware. So many grammatical errors. It was very distracting.
I loved this book so much, it was so freaking cute.
I loved Tripp and Brylee relationship so much. I loved how Tripp finally let go of his trifling ass baby mama and moved on. But Tripp was lowkey annoying when it came to his baby mama because the relationship should’ve been over the moment he came home from work and found her strung out while the baby was in a pissy diaper crying her head off.
I’m a sucker for a nanny and single dad romance and this definitely lived up to my expectations.

I loved Inflamed in His Love! I love Tripp and Brylee! Tripp is a new father and works as a Firefighter! His job is demanding so he is need of finding help for he and his daughter. Insert Brylee, she is a daycare worker that is "laid off" due to a fire at the school she works at. Fate has Brylee and Tripps paths crossing and once Tripp realizes he needs full time help as a father to a newborn with a demanding job, he seeks out Brylee to become his in house Nanny.
Now without giving too much away, this book has lots of twists and turns! And I feel like Tripp looses his mind at one point with the arrangment of the child's mother and Brylee...but we got back on the same page eventually, because I was ready to fight him for a minute of reading!
Brylee becomes a nanny to Tripp a single dad with a baby mom who’s struggling with drugs. If you don’t like cheating then you won’t like this one because Tripp was definitely in a relationship with Skye yet smiling all up in Brylee face and vice versa. I listened to the audio and enjoyed the story. I was rooting for Skye to get herself together.
It bothered me that Brylee was described as this sweet, empathetic person, but to who? Only to her grandparents and siblings. She treated her parents terribly, and even worse, Skye! How she come into this woman’s home and snatch her man and her baby? And the way she treated Skye at the end, calling her trash and pushing her down to the ground? So unlike the person she was described to be. Forget her innocent act, she moved into that home with an agenda.
And don’t get me started on Tripp. In what world is it ok to wait for your girlfriend/baby momma to come home to find out she’s been dumped and replaced? The best time to tell her would’ve been in rehab. But she comes home to find out not only have you ended things with her, but there’s a new woman in her house, in her bed, caring for her child. Now you telling her she has to move out when you’re the only person she knows and has? That’s a lot for a sober person to take, let alone a recovering addict FRESH out of rehab! Then getting mad at her for relapsing? I understand her crash out.

Audiobook Review: Both narrators did a fantastic job! They brought the story to life. Miles Washington is slowly becoming a favorite male narrator, and I always liked Trei.
Book Review: Trip and B were perfect together from the beginning. They both were good people that deserved good people! Now that ex... I was hoping she got it together but once a cr@ckhead always a cr@ckhead!
♡ Audiobook Review ♡ 5 ☆ First, this cover art is beautiful! He's a newly single father with a demanding job as a firefighter. The situation with his daughter's mom is sticky. She's a newly unemployed daycare worker in need of a new job. It becomes harder to manage being a full-time father to a newborn and the hours his job demands, so when he sees an opportunity to hire Brylee as an in-house nanny, he doesn't hesitate.
From the very beginning, I was hooked and couldn't let go! I devoured this audiobook in one day! The storyline, the relationship between Tripp, his daughter, and Brylee was beautifully done. I love Tripp's character and the fact that he is a Black firefighter! But his character was mentally strong; raising an infant and dealing with a baby mama who is a junkie couldn't be easy. Brylee was like a breath of fresh air. Simply put, the audiobook was good; I enjoyed it. The narrator did a good job; their voices were easy to listen to and also easy to follow along with the storyline. •Black Male Firefighter 🧑🏾🚒 •Babysitter - to - lover
Thank you, Netgellay, and Dreamscape Media for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.
This is a slow burn, forced proximity romance. Daycare worker (FMC) becomes live-in nanny for Firefighter (MMC) when daycare catches fire and she loses her job. Firefighter has a little girl and a "girlfriend" who's in rehab for a drug addiction. Firefighter works crazy hours that keep him from home. He hires Daycare workers to live-in because his shifts keeps him overnight frequently.
As you can predict, these two begin falling for each other but refuse to act on their feelings bc of "girlfriend." However, a near fatal event forces them to acknowledge their feelings. "Girlfriend" is the last to know. She's in quotes because it's obvious Firefighter got one foot out the door but his loyalty to GF keeps him from acting on his feelings. All hell breaks loose once GF leaves rehab.
I felt bad for Firefighter most of the book. I do think he should've told GF where they stood before she left rehab. Also, he shouldn't have asked Daycare worker for such a heavy lift once GF left rehab. Ain't no way! GTFOHWTBS! 🤣
Great story but the lack of editing errors totally jammed the flow!
Fire Fighter, Tripp is totally caught between two women! Skye is Tripp's childhood friend and the mother of his infant daughter. She is in Rehab for her third time and super, super selfish. She totally ignores her baby daughter.
Brylee is the nanny, but Tripp is really feeling her. She loves and cares for his daughter, whereas Baby Mama, Skye could care less. Tripp's crazy brothers and friends are hysterical and the life of all the parties!!!!
4.5⭐️I had such a great time with this story!! I love a loving father who is not afraid of asking for help. Tripp was doing everything but the way Brylee came in and helped him to let his cape down - was mesmerizing! This was such a beautiful story! I felt for Skye, a little.
A single dad firefighter Tripp falls for his new live-in nanny, Brylee in this dual POV, slow burn romance featuring two Black MCs. This book touches on some tough topics (addiction, rehab, parental abandonment) and some parts weren't for me (Tripp isn't officially separated from the mother of his child and there's an unplanned pregnancy) but overall it was an emotional, spicy read that was good on audio. Recommended for fans of authors like Tony Shiloh or Charity Shane. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review!
Steam level: open door
TW: unplanned pregnancy (not my fav trope and this was totally preventable if the MCs had actually bothered to use protection)

𝙢𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨: first, this cover art is beautiful! Tay Mo’Nae did what needed to be done with Inflamed in His Love! 😍 from page one, i was locked in and not putting this book down for nobody. from the very beginning, i was hooked and couldn't let go! Tripp and Brylee? whew, the chemistry, the vibes, the connection they understood the assignment! i was rooting for them the entire time like they were my cousins frfr. i love Tripp's character and the fact that he is a Black firefighter! but his character was mentally strong; raising an infant and dealing with a baby mama who is a junkie couldn't be easy. each character brought a level of complexity and depth to the story because of their backstory which dictated their actions. truth be told, there was a lot of tiptoeing around and definitely could be categorized as cheating but the only person who clocked it was Rose. (Tripp's mom was the real MVP) Brylee was like a breath of fresh air. now let’s talk about Sky. chile. she stayed trying to play in Tripp’s face and had me rolling my eyes so hard I almost got dizzy. 😂 every time she popped up, i was like, “girl, go sit down!” but that drama? just the right amount of spice to keep things heated! this book gave romance, gave tension, gave “i know you see this love blossoming so don’t ruin it!” energy, and i was here for every minute of it. if you love a couple with real chemistry, characters you’ll root for (and side-eye), and a story that flows effortlessly, you need to read this one. Tay Mo’Nae never misses. i highly recommend the audiobook with Trei Taylor and Myles Washington! they brought both characters to life.

Inflamed In His Love is a Super Sweet & Sentimental Story.
I’m normally not built for a slow burn type of situation. They often frustrate me. (I need the couple to meet chapter one & be in love by chapter three. Lol) However, Tripp & Brylee’s timeline flowed very well. I swear I could feel their attraction & chemistry; it made me giddy. I don’t think I ever stopped swooning & blushing at these two interacting. & the Spice.. baby, call the fire department!
Separately, they were loving, caring, selfless people in relationships with loser-faces who didn’t value them. When they come together it is so satisfying to see them finally give each other the love they crave & deserve. I appreciate how they were both so thoughtful & prioritized each other.
Spoilers Below..
And Did somebody say Step Mommy season?!?!? Scottlynn had me ready to become a live in nanny for a single father. She was such a sweetie pie. I felt like a proud TT whenever she hit a milestone. Now. As for the surrogate, Miss Skye. I love to hate a character! & baby, I was done with her the moment we met her. She had me, my Man, & our baby f’d up! I wasn’t even tryna judge her for her addiction, cuz it’s a sickness & you really never know people’s struggles. But I HOLLERED when Leia called her a crackhead. Lol. Her neglect & lack of effort towards my pretty girl is what I just couldn’t get past. It was giving deadbeat from the beginning. Tripp offered her way more grace than she ever deserved, tbh. Sorrows & prayers to her though. I was so proud of Tripp for finally putting himself first. & I was happy for Brylee when she decided to face her parental/childhood trauma head on. Her parents were a bit annoying. I was ready to not F with them forever if that’s what she wanted to do. Lol. I will support my girl through whatever! I love, love, love the relationship between the entire Clarke Family.. Gran + Grandpa were dope too.
My only issue, is that I NEED MORE! I legit did not want the story to end. I want to know more about Harlem & Leia & Terrance & Captain Omiras. I miss everybody already. 😩😩😩
I’m keeping my singers crossed, 🤞🏾 that this isn’t the last we see of Tripp & Brylee. I love them, Real Bad.
