Makai Makai Makai , Glacier , Mommas , G & Kiwi.♥️ (IYKYK)
Everything stops with him. Makai squared I took my precious time with this version of the story. One because he is my Favorite !!! 🥰2 because they are my favorite🥰 . 3 because I know how grey coming every-time that’s why she is my Top 3 / in a lane of her own cause whet??🤧 Idc if I read the original version , everything stop with him again, I am so in love with him , with them just everything and all the feelings I felt round 1 . I felt immensely round 2 & I was excited to jump in head first.

Let’s break this down y’all don’t understand the amount of love they had for one another . I cannot even put in words and if you don’t love them literally WTF. I always like how grey take you on a journey with characters and how she have a way of pulling all the emotions out of you like no other . Beautiful . 🥹
MAKAI SIMPLY that nigga. From the first encounter he had with Glacier I knew their love and moments leading up was going to be something serious . He’s a boss and extremely Smart and Real you can’t help but fall and kiwi had him at hello , Well they both did . For him to never have been in relationship he loved mommas perfect . & the way he would do anything for her that told you the type of person he was true testament of who he was hell who the Domino MEN are cause they all one the same. & how they love each other powerful!! ( that’s other part i love about Grey writing ) the black love that shows within the families that she create in every book that have graced my fingertips . 🫶🏽

This really was needed and I appreciate it so much cause makai left me heartbroken and unfinished cause I really wasn’t ready to let Mommas & Kai go and if I’m being honest I’m still not ! That’s how good the story is . & how this is the true definition of loving someone and supporting their decision why it leaves you in pieces and shambles but also having hope that it will be all okay. Those letters still broke me down like it did the first time , I was going through the pain with them but the ending result of it all was all worth it ! & I will never not understand why he did what he did . “If he couldn’t take care of the women he loved then who would?? SELFLESS . I say read it again again and again. Cause this just one of those book that just suck you all the way in and I am probably bias a little but this was such a treat! & grey you really are the best!!!!!

The Squared version was good too
Makai like his brothers is a dangerous and profoundly fascinating man. Each of the Berkley men were something to behold. Makai's mindset is intricate and detailed. It was nice to see how calculated he was about everything in his life. I did not expect the resolution to the problem concerning Glacier would take two years. The drop in characters from previous books made my day. The author always take readers on a well crafted adverture with each visit.

This series isn’t for me. So far I haven’t been a fan of none of the Dominos. I will admit the beginning of Makai and Glacier’s story was nice and enjoyable. But quickly it went off the rails and worsen.
The biggest sticking point was his decision that forced her into a messed up situation. All because he had to flex on Nelson. Those 20+ months of crying, begging, and grieving the relationship was not for me. Only because I was curious on how he would repair, I continued reading. Otherwise I couldn’t with them as a couple.
I understood his why, but I disagreed and I couldn’t stand how pitiful Glacier was portrayed. Especially considering she was done dirty by almost everyone she cared about prior to this. So it didn’t make sense to me to add to it and then call it love. But whatevs.
I’m going to read book 4, because I need to know how Mercer will disappoint me. He’s the only brother I was rooting for. But at this point my expectations have been lowered.

Makai, Makai, Makai! My man, my man, my man! I absolutely LOVED this book. I have already read the original Makai and Glacier, so it was no surprise that I loved this one as well. This novel delves into themes of love, trust, redemption and growth.
Makai is rough around the edges, brash, domineering, loving, generous, patient and so much more. He is a very complex character with a tormented past. His trauma has kept him from desiring and developing connections with anyone other than his family. Outside of his family and his money, he doesn’t care about anything or anyone. That is, until he meets Glacier. The beautiful, sweet, strong and resilient Glacier. Meeting Glacier turns Makai’s world upside down in the best way. From the very first encounter, she touched his soul. Sensing her needs and their shared trauma, he’s drawn to her. Their relationship develops organically and beautifully. She was everything Makai needs. She was the calm and peace he needed to finally quiet his mind and help heal his wounds. Their love is strong, intense and irrevocable. Of all the men of Berkely, Makai is and will always be my favorite.

Back at it Again
I loved revisiting the world or Makai and Glacier!! The added new parts were perfect. I had wanted to know what had become of them after the original one ended and was sure glad Grey came back and gave us more. Knowing how Glacier felt after Makai’s return, I was eager to see how they would navigate their new normal. I’m still mad at his choice to be away from our girl, but I do understand the reasoning. As unhinged as he is, Makai is still one of my favorites and it was a pleasure to delve back into his story.
*sidenote* why Makai can’t ever get those girls names right 😂. Cloud, Mountain, Wind, and Nutri-Grain, I cackled. And Lawe IS INSANE😂😂😂

Makai can’t do no wrong in my eyes and that’s on period.
Everything I was looking for in the original is exactly what Grey gave me in squared and I love that for me. Out of all the Domino brothers Makai and Mercer were my favs but Makai stands on big business. The man was a different breed. The true definition of an oxymoron. Stone cold but melted for Glacier.
If you want to know the definition of a menace, a fckg real one then look no further than this man. This man went door to door to find Nel’s ass, just to get that get back. Combed the streets day in and day out and waited 2 years to settle the score. Then went got his family back after he did his bid 😎
When Makai told Nelson “she fucking the boss now, dog” then gave him a extra key and some champagne to celebrate that fumble, I knew he was the man for me. 😂😂
Chile then at the end Grey said there will be a part 3 coming soon. Whatever I did to deserve this I hope I keep that shit up cuz I’ll never tire of this man 🤪

May 26, 2025uhmmmm none of the characters are likeable, which suprised me because I couldn't believe that this is the same author who wrote 'The Therapist'. The dialogue, I found, to be very lacking and shallow. To me, Makai doesn't have a scintilla of emotional intelligence and wasn't able to facilitate or even have those difficult conversations that could have helped improve the plot.
I really struggled to finish this one - was a tough read fsssss.

G. never fails us just when you thought it couldn't get any better here comes Makai squared. When I tell you I laughed, I cried tears of joy and pain, I really mean it. G. writes in a way where you feel the emotions as if you're reading your own story about you.
Keep up the good work, G. I'm waiting patiently in the wings for my next installment of whatever masterpiece you send our way!!!

My favorite Berkeley boy
Makai is definitely my favorite of the Berkley boys, and I loved getting the extension after reading the original edition of his story. His care, attention, devotion and protection are all you want and love about book boyfriends.
From the beginning when he immediately called Chem after deciding to pursue Glacier for advice on how to make sure he got it right the first time, I knew without him having to say it that he learned from all the mistakes his brothers and cousins made with their women and had no intentions of making them himself. Prior to his book he’s the wildcard goof that keeps everybody laughing and simultaneously rolling their eyes, and in this he’s still that but so much more. He has the same trauma over his parents as the others, probably worse since he’s the one that found them, and yet he doesn’t let it make him lash out or fight his feelings or avoid commitment. He lets it fuel his drive to do right by Glacier and protect her. He’s the true lover boy of the group and shows it in how he loves Glacier, and how far he went to protect her, even though it broke all our hearts to see him do it. For once, the heartbreak wasn’t over an avoidable fight, secret, other woman or stupid mistake, and wasn’t something he could fully regret because of the necessity for peace and safety for the woman he loves.
Glacier was the calm to his storm and peace to his chaos. She made it clear from day one that she didn’t have a toxic bone in her body and wouldn’t act up, fight or be petty when communication is right there, which made me respect and identify with her. Her background is heartbreaking but her strength and capacity to still love is admirable, and seeing her gain her new family and receive support for her grandmother from Makai was healing. I do wish we would’ve gotten a couple more dates with them but their time on the island and their emotional support of each other, both spoken and actioned were enough to believe their connection. And we got more of the sisterhood between the girls which is always appreciated to make their lives feel more well-rounded.
The conflict and its resolution had the pages turning and the explanation on the “why” was shocking enough to catch me off guard but not enough where it was wildly out there and just craziness happening for the sake of it. Overall my favorite of the series.

Daddy's Home!
Makai, was in for several surprises. The first was joy and pain of his presence brought back to the LOHL, Glacier. Yes, she was happy he was back but that come with alot of baggage, questions and reassurance (trust building). Second, he was a DADDY to twins, that knew him thanks to Glacier and his family. He knew it would be tough but not his tough. Not in hard/unbreakable way but in the fact that his decisions of not calling, writing or reading her letters had him at a deficit.
The love was still there... but he recognized the change in Glacier immediately from her physical as well as emotionally. She now had to think about more than herself. It was his duty to help her realize that he was back, he was there to help EASE any undue stress. He was not only daddy but her man.
He received great council from his brothers... but that Malachi in this book. I love him.. that's it that's all... Worry Me?!
Makai has changed but he's still a fool... calling Nature Pasture and Aier, WIND. I was cracking up.

This is the ending in needed!
I’m not going to lie I was disappointed in the original ending of Makai’s story. I felt like it wasn’t a HEA and left me with unanswered questions.
However, Grey gave me exactly what I was looking for in Makai squared. The hurt, healing and love prevailing is exactly what was needed and made their love feel real. The raw emotions both characters shared at the end was so realistic. It pulls you further into their love story and makes root for their HEA. Makai Squared is officially my favorite book from Berkeley Bred series.

OMG!!!’
Makai is my absolute favorite!!!! He's completely unpredictable and I'm obsessed! I knew he'd be perfect for Glacier. This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster - I devoured it in no time! The Domino family dynamics are everything!!! Their banter is hilarious and I love how they welcomed Glacier with open arms. The strong women from the other series fit right in. The family's closeness is truly special. The banter is everything!

I loved Makai the first go around and it was nice to get back to Berkeley and relive his story in an extended version. He is my favorite Domino. It made me so happy to see life for Makai and Glacier after everything that went down with Nelson. I almost didn't want it to end. I love this family. It was great to experience this again.

I enjoyed this book. Couples must have one big blow up we are not sure they will recover from to keep things real. Makai had me in the first half boy. He shot up to top 3 book hubbies but then I was sorrily disappointed. Chalk it up to in experience but I didn't like how he moved. More selfish than selfless. Also, Glacier was too easy for me - he couldn't come back.

This story gave me all the feels. I love how both Makai and Glacier do openly communicated their thoughts with one another. How they both were their unapologetic selves. I love how in tuned they were with one another. Just beautiful. This was just so good. My favorite of the series.

This series just keeps getting better and better. I love everything about Makai and Glacier's union. It's new love, fresh without restrictions. At first, I feared they could be trauma bonding, but they were just each other's person. The sacrifices they both are willing to make on each other's account is just gut-wrenching. Makai is pure comedy... Everyone gets a nickname with him.

The additional words added more depth to the story! Glacier and Makai’s story isn’t pretty (or perfect) and I just enjoyed reading them over again and seeing Glacier grow up. Makai….just pray for him.

Amazing
The life updates made my heart happy. "Seeing" Makai with the girls, Glacier evolving into a woman and not just kiwi. The family, the kids... especially Mercer and Vallei!! Can't wait to read the additional books.

This was exactly what I needed! I loved Makai’s story so much so when I learned we would be getting an extended version I jumped on it. This version was everything I neeed and more! Now I want everyone’s story to be extended 😂

I read Makai when it was released and wanted more. TODAY I got more and then some. Makai and Glacier have always been my favorite couple, even after reading all the others. GH you did your big one with this one!

I read the first Makai and loved it. This book only intensified the love I have for Makai. His book is my favorite and I loved all the extras she added. The ending is just what I needed to end such a beautiful story.

It's crazy how much I ate this book up like I didn't just read Makai a couple months ago. Reading Makai Squared made me understand his character more, and I enjoyed getting a proper ending to their story!
