Amara’s Story Book Three: To Dance in Darkness and Fire is a really strong third book in the Amara’s Story series and the fourth book I’ve read from Dalton Acosta, and honestly, he just keeps getting better.
It was awesome stepping back into Amara’s world and seeing how everything connected with what happened in Pillar of Faith. If you’ve read that one, you’ll love how characters from that story and characters from Amara’s main storyline all come together and face the dangers of the underground city as one group. Seeing those different paths finally collide felt really satisfying.
Dalton also absolutely nails the action again. The battle scenes are vivid and exciting, and they read like they were crafted by a top-tier D&D Dungeon Master, full of drama, tension, and unforgettable moments.
There’s a great mix of emotional moments, big fights, and character growth, and it never feels dull. If you’ve been following this series, this book is a must-read. And if you’re new, definitely start from the beginning and don’t skip Pillar of Faith. You’ll get so much more out of this one if you know what came before. I’m excited to see where Dalton takes these characters next and how any loose threads get tied up.
