She reluctantly agrees only to find the loan shark has a sweet side. The chemistry was hot, and the ending was happy.
2. Knocked Up by the Tycoon is an opposites attract, secret pregnancy, age-gap, girl gets her billionaire second-chance erotic short. Alexa is a pregnant 23 year old. Dallas is a hunky, 42 year old tech billionaire and her ex-boyfriend. She left when she was pregnant, thinking he didn't want kids. He finds her and shows her that he is all in. 3.5 ☆s.

At first (last year 2024), I just couldn’t get in the “mood” for these stories, and I gave up after about 3 tries. Then a couple of weeks ago, I somehow ran across this boxset on my kindle while searching for something else and thought ”why not …”, and so I did. LOL And they really hit the spot! I’m super glad I didn’t delete them completely from my kindle!
My thoughts in a few sentences, because a few sentences is all you really need to review short OTT stories such as these. I found this collection to only be mildly titillating and overly focused on MMC dominance over the FMC. There’s nothing wrong with stories such as these, I’m just stating facts. But if you’re not in the “mood”, they’re not gonna “hit” right, so maybe do what I did and walk away and come back later. *shrug* They were all insta, very short and lacking in romance development or any development, if I’m being honest. However, If you’re looking for “development & growth” as part of your reading, and you picked this collection after reading the synopsis, then you did not understand the assignment. LOL Feel me?

If you’re in the mood for steamy, possessive men who refuse to take no for an answer, this collection will definitely deliver. In both the first and last story, the men exploit the FMC’s financial situation to force them into bed, leaving little room for choice or resistance. In fact, that seems to be the goal of all the MMCs in this collection. While I’ve read this author’s work before, I think I’ve pinpointed what doesn't click for me with these stories. I understand the challenge of creating deep connections in shorter works, but here, I found it hard to engage with the characters beyond the surface with the focus entirely on the smut. While I don’t mind a healthy dose of that, this collection didn’t quite strike the balance between romance and erotica I enjoy, lingering somewhere in between, leaving me craving a bit more substance in both departments.

I couldn’t get enough of each story in this collection, I found that each story is entertaining, enjoyable to read, interesting, and intriguing to see different couples. Author Isla Chiu does a phenomenal job of capturing the essence of each couple in their story and showcasing their unique personalities and their love for each other. I’m not going to give any details about any of these stories because I don’t want to ruin the book for future readers. However, I would most certainly recommend this collection for anyone to pick up and give it a read. I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next from this amazing author.

These are short story format so you expect there to be less character development and fewer details. However these felt more like story excerpts than complete stories even for short format. While they are all alpha male claiming stories as described they are also all Asian female stories which was not disclosed. If they were not all this way I wouldn't feel the need to mention it, but it seemed odd that it was not acknowledged. You will find morally gray and dub/con tropes throughout.

If you’re looking for quick reads this is it and it shows a LIST of other stand alones and a couple series by Isla Chiu. I did like the representation in these stories,and stories 3 thru 5 also had some good laugh-out-loud moments. Love the insta-love,wish they were breed reads,and had epilogues,because they were kind of short,but a sweet,fluffy way to while away an hour! If you read anything g else from this is author, this is same but different. Isla Chiu has a stile that she sticks to. You either enjoy her books or don't.
