The Sparrow and the Wolf #2

The Bloodstained God

Rate this book
A year of blood and fire.

The West has fallen, but winter and the great wall at Fal Verdan protect the East. Cain, the innkeeper general, is once again entrusted with the defence of a wall, but this one he must first build, and he has only weeks to do it.

Narak finds a way to stop the Seth Yarra army, but at great personal cost. He seeks help from the sixth kingdom which will come at a price he cannot accept. When he sleeps his dreams are filled with visions.

The metal headed assassin stalks the gods themselves. They have sought sanctuary in Wolfguard, all but Pascha, who discovers that she is, perhaps, the greatest monster of all.

And Wolfguard is not as safe as it seems.

I am a fantasy author who lives in New Zealand within sight of the magnificent Southern Alps and surrounded by sheep, mountains and badly behaved rivers.

I was born in the UK, but have lived in Hong Kong, the UK and now New Zealand. I am very familiar with the Richter Scale.

"Victory comes at the end of the war, not a battle."

There is no words to describe this book. This book is like a reincarnation of perfection itself. I could not put this down. Every chapter was a treat.
I have read many books but two books of this quality in succession, never. I feel elated. Every chapter is in POV of a character and it was magnificent. The book gives much to speculate on every chapter, still manages to surprise every now and then.
The best thing about the book is definitely the protagonist NARAK, The Wolf God. He is by far the best character in the series. Cain also brilliant in this book. Even though I disliked Pascha in the previous book, she was amazing in this book. Much plot holes of the first books are filled.

Amazing sequel to the story of the Wolf God Narak now facing a bigger problem than just Seth Yarra... Dragons! They couldn't be left out of a fantasy story. And the unexpected plot twist was the Sparrow Godess Pascha... Simply amazing!

This is one of the more positive fantasy, world-at-war stories I've read. There is moments of loss, death of minor characters but the heroes always seem to prevail. If your looking for a story that won't make you want to give up on the world this has an upbeat flavor but still a lot of action and well describe fights.

Another Great adventure

Terrific action adventure. Characters continue to be well developed and engrossing. Excellent second book in the series. I wasn't going to get the next one, but had to get to the end.
