After walking away from her career as a business banker to pursue writing full-time, Erica Lucke Dean moved from the hustle and bustle of the big city to a small tourist town in the North Georgia Mountains where she lived in a 90-year-old haunted farmhouse.

Tired of being woken up in the middle of the night by a pesky poltergeist, the author of contemporary young adult, romantic comedy, and paranormal romance moved into a cute little cabin in the woods, where she lives with her husband, her dogs, and the occasional bear. Much like the characters in her books, Ms. Dean is a magnet for disaster, and has been known to trip on air while walking across flat surfaces.

How she’s managed to survive this long is one of life’s great mysteries.

You can find out more about Erica, in addition to her humorous blog posts and disasters, on her website.

Oh, The Allure of NetGalley....
The blurb was intriguing enough to request.
The good news- it was short.

ARC received for review

Very quick read. It was short but didn't not lack any heat. I loved it. Max and Lucy were great. And the rest of Max's crew were pretty amazing to. It just needed more to be five stars. I can't wait to read about Rabbit, Keegan and Red.

Lots of people have warned me about the appeal NetGalley puts on certain books. You think you got yourself a winner, and you end up banging your head on the wall with the hopes of forgetting you ever read said books.

This is totally one of those cases. I witnessed a completely air-headed and irresponsible heroine, with no qualms to what was safe or reasonable whatsoever, all for the sake of going on an adventure. Also, may I add that many of the things she didn't appreaciate on her date at the beginning of the book were present on supposedly hot Max? What, just because he wore leather, looked every bit the bad guy our mothers warn us about, and remembered her name, that made things different or something?
(btw, I find that guy far from hot, just.... argh!)

The whole book was a continuous excuse for Lucy to get off, or Max to get off, or both of them at the same time - honestly, even erotica has some standards, you know! The only reason I forced myself to finish it was Rabbit -and if anyone has read my reviews so far knows what that means, caring about secondary characters more than if the couple would actually get it on or not. (which wasn't hard to guess, I mean, they were not exactly subtle about it - speaking of subtle, if a guy tried to bone me in the backseat of a car, with his buddies at the front seat, more than once, I would NOT sit through it all quietly!!)

Ughhh, did I read the same thing as everyone else? This just did NOT do it for me. By the blurb I was expecting more, more story, more character more everything. What I got instead was an excuse to have sex, sex and more sex with a complete stranger who after 1 night you claim to know is the 1. I just can't. There was hope for it to be more but the plot took the background to sex and sadly it didn't sell me on either lead. I am sad to say I didn't find this near as enjoyable as everyone else did. I feel like I am dysfunctional or something, and perhaps its because I enjoy actual story and I wasn't aware going in that this was a wham bam book.

What the hell did I just start to read? I hadn't realised that this was a novella and well I don't do novellas. They are annoying and irritating to say the least.

Women do not giggle at the age of 20 when we have just met the Heroine. It makes her out to be a bimbo. Adventure my arse. No self preservation whatsoever.

I am really sorry Ms. Dean, good luck.

Let me start by saying I absolutely dread giving this one star - it's something I rarely do and it's really bothering me to do this. On the other hand, this book did not work for me from the first page until the last. It is a quick novella and a standalone. I received a copy through NetGalley from the publisher for an honest review. The blurb immediately drew me to the story. I liked the idea of a jewel heist and a protective alpha male.

The heroine's behavior so confused me I re-read the first few pages several times to make sure I understood. Her date (not the hero) repeatedly calls her by the wrong name and although she doesn't like it, she twirls in her dress and giggles and tells him he looks like Heath Ledger. (I couldn't stop thinking about comparing him to someone who died a few years ago felt really off.) Lucy is incredibly naive and not the brightest bulb. She does seem sweet, but all of the characters are written in such a way that nothing felt natural. I was left feeling confused by what they said and how they behaved.

A lot of readers aren't fans of instalove, but it's not something that bothers me. This might be the most extreme case of instalove I've ever read. Maybe 2 minutes after meeting they kiss. Within the hour they are getting each other off in the back seat of the getaway car - along with his crew and her original date up front and fully aware. This was the point the young adult book (she's almost 21) went into the erotica direction, but the wording felt off. He "jizzed" in his jeans and later she couldn't wear her dress because he got his "stuff" all over it. From here on out they have sex or heavy duty making out every five pages. In between all of this is the jewel heist, almost rape from her date (in between the jizz and her dress getting stuff on it - so maybe 30 minutes), a shootout, then a quick stop at the drugstore to get some condoms since they forgot to use them the first time, he introduced her to his family, and then she got kidnapped.

I liked the idea of Max. I liked his alpha tendencies. There's an almost twist towards the end involving a kidnapping where she's told some things that made me perk up, but it didn't really go there after all. Again, this is a novella and I believe it happens over a one night period of time.

I noticed there's another book in the series that was already released. Both seem to be standalone stories with a common theme (jewels) and were previously published in 2014. It looks like this one is being republished for June 2015, so keep that in mind if you think you've already read this.

Diamond Duplicity sounded like an interesting read. I did read some reviews before requesting it so I went in knowing it was short. I'd also seen some comments about the believability, but I decided to take a gamble on it. However, what I didn't expect was for it to be so unbelievable. With this book you really have to suspend reality and roll with it. If you questions everything you'll never get to the end.

The plot basically revolves around Lucy who's in the wrong place at the wrong time. She gets caught up in a gang's operation and falls for the leader Max. The whole story covers one night and that's where my problem lay. Everything was rushed.

There's no character development because really, how could there be? The sex is instant, leading me to dislike Lucy for being too easy. There a whole load of insta-love, and for a guy high up in some kind of mafia to admit to wanting a girl forever after one night seemed unrealistic--even if he wasn't in the mafia it would have been unbelievable. I don't mind insta-love but the books have to be longer so there's development and growth. I just couldn't buy into this. From the amount of sex it was more lust than anything.

Overall, this is a quick read. If you don't mind suspending reality and all beliefs then you may enjoy it, but for me there were too many unrealistic qualities and it was too short to dispel them.

ARC provided by Netgalley in exchange for a honest review.

Lucy is on a rather boring and date with a jerk. After her date finds out that she isn't yet 21 he tries to sneak her in the back entrance but ends up making them witness a jewelry heist.

What starts off as a great thrill ride soon turns in to your average niave girl sees hot guy and can't stop drooling or listen to reason even though said guy is an obvious bad guy.

The book went from one thrill to the next with no real storyline or character development. They pretty much get caught up in each other and start having sex right away. Though we do get a little glimpse of the mysterious Max it wasn't ever really explained. I really would have loved to see the background behind Max and his friends.

I would definitely be interested in reading about his friends if they were full length books and with a heck of a lot more character development. To me this book felt more like an outline rather than a full book.

3.75 diamond hard stars for Diamond Duplicity. I really liked the overview so I wanted to read it. It should be said that this is not by any means a lengthy romance novel. This is pretty short and is basically just a giant smutty mcsmut smut read. Having that it, it wasn't bad.

I tend to like lengthy books where there's an actual story outside of and including the two main characters. This does not give that to me but the sex was pretty fun and hot. There's touches of an actual story here and there but that is it, just touches . There heroine and hero go at it like rabbits and somehow know it is for the long haul.

Diamond Duplicity isn't a bad read but if you're looking for something like The Hook Up or Say My Name, you will be disappointed. This is just a rolling smutty sex happy time read. I did find myself smiling several times during the novel.

Just a quick sexy fairytale, perfect for a lazy morning. Max interrupts Lucy''s date with a diamond heist. Sexy Max is the perfect antidote to her lousy evening anyway - so what's a girl to do but flip sides and join the dark side. In the end the bad guy gets what he deserves and the knight gets the princess.

I was provided an ARC via Netgalley for an honest review.

Let me just put it out there right now that this is not at all what I expected it to be. I expected smut, hello the name is Jewels of Desire, but I did not expect a novella of pure smut.

expected this:
Lucy Matthews can’t believe her crazy luck. While she’s on a date with Mr. Wrong, her evening tilts from merely unfortunate to downright surreal when his attempt to sneak them into a club lands them in the middle of a diamond heist.

When gorgeous Max Callaghan discovers a hot and disheveled Lucy clutching his bag of diamonds at the crime scene, he brands her with a fiery kiss. His gang wants her dead, so Max rescues her by claiming her as his girlfriend. Lucy soon realizes with sudden, pulse-pounding clarity that she needs Max for another reason entirely, but their passionate ruse might not survive the intense pressure of a high-stakes mob war.

got this:
Lucy's date is fun, but not treating her like the princess she is. Enter hot man who she thinks is a cop, but really isn't. When she find out he's not a cop, but really involved in a diamond heist, she still has no problem letting him touch her and bang her in front of all his friends multiple times in one night.

What? I was totally cool with having smut mixed in with a diamond heist, in fact I loved all the minor characters and the plot. The commentary was hilarious and there really could be a full length novel in there, somewhere. It just could have been done differently or you know, branded differently so I knew what I was getting into. Instead, mid-read, I made some terrible noise and screamed, "what am I reading?!" I wanted more from this for sure and I feel a bit duped that it wasn't clear this was a novella. Now if Erica Lucke Dean decides to make this a full length novel, absolutely keep the smutty scenes, just give me some context. I've never met a girl who witnesses something illegal and then is 100% cool with sex in a car, hotel, club, outside, elevetor, etc. The writing itself is done very well and I didn't find any errors. I'll let you know how I fare with book two.

Sexy, erotic, mysterious and fast paced. What more can you ask for?

Every once in a while I like to step out of my comfort zone. Alright... more then once in a while. Reading this book is just that. definitely out of my regular genre. Erica and Elise's latest Diamond Duplicity book took me out of the normal reads and gave me a smiling, hot read. I escaped into a read of a girl who is finding herself in the most no holds bar method EVER.

Why I loved it
This is my first read by Elise Delacroix and it seems she found a perfect fit with Erica Lucke Dean.

Who kept me reading
Lucy Mathews - Young and naive and quite ready to jump in a situation head first even with all the warning signals blaring away inside her. You just want to find out how far she will go and when she will finally stop long enough to ask herself 'What the hell?"

Max Callaghan - Well hell, if he existed in our lives at barely 21 many young woman would be in trouble and loving it. Even though this is a fast read, you find yourself anxious to find out whether he is as bad as he seems or is there something else?

A few other characters helped to make this funny and page turning worthy.
Sex, sex and more sex

Not for the shy at heart. I did say no holds bar at the start of this review. Let's just say if someone along your commute is reading over your shoulder you won't be the only one blushing.

The Authors intrigue
They did a fantastic job in making a fast read very interesting, mysterious, sexy and erotic. You are hating and loving a character, swooning and cheering for another. Way too short, I can't wait to read their next book which I already purchased, Craving Caine.

I hope to see many more books with these two Authors. Their combination of wit and intrigue has me as a fan.

I love it, loved it and loved writing a review of it. I love it when a book pulls me from the norm.

Lucy Matthews is on a date with a guy who can't even get her name straight. His idea of a hot date is taking her to a club, but then he finds out that she's not even of legal drinking age. His new plan is to have them sneak in the back door of the club. As they're moving around on the loading dock, they witness a crime; guys are grabbing other guys and a bag of diamonds. Lucy is immediately smitten with the guy who appears to be the leader, Max. Lucy and her date are caught sneaking around by Max, and the Lucy/Max situation begins. Max takes Lucy on a wild ride filled with shooting, sex in various places, and then more sex.
What I liked about this book: the guys were very intriguing and likable; that what moved me forward in this book. Other than that piece, the story really didn't have much. Were the guys apart of some gang/mafia? Max and Lucy met one another, and literally started making out within the 2nd sentence. Then..whammo, they're having sex EVERYWHERE and ALL THE TIME. The whole story seemed to revolve around the fact that they were having sex every time you turned around. Then to cap that off, they know one another for roughly 24 hours, and they're in love.
Storyline pretty unbelievable, but the personalities were strong enough to make it tolerable.

Lucy has always been a good girl but when she decides to let loose she goes all out. One night brings her on the adventure of her life and changes it forever. The thrill is intense and Mr. Wrong turns out to be all right. When the night ends will the adventure be over or will they have something that lasts.

Max is sent by his uncle to personally supervise the deal that is going down and what he finds turns out to be more precious than any stones. Lucy seems to have just stumbled into his dealings but to keep her safe he pretends she is his girlfriend. While acting he can't help but want a taste of her.

This was a fun book to read. From the very beginning I feel like I can relate to Lucys character. She always does what she is suppose to do and she wants to come out of her shell. The guy Lucy was on a date with was a dick so when Max is introduced you instantly like him because he treats her like a princess. He also helps her get out of her shell and lets her tag along on the mission he was on. They both discover a lot about what they want in life in their time together. I just loved how fun and sweet the story was, I also really enjoyed the secondary characters and how they interacted with Lucy.

*Book source ~ Won in a giveaway

Lucy Matthews ignores her instincts and goes out on a date with Zack. She should really know by now that Zack’s type is all wrong for her not to mention he can’t get her name right, but she’s determined to have an adventure. Until he tries to sneak her into a club and they come across a diamond heist in progress. Max Callaghan pushes all of Lucy’s buttons and all she can think about is his hot bod taking down the bad guys. When she’s caught red-handed with the sack (of diamonds) Max brings her along against the better judgment of his crew. Lucy is in for an adventure alright. One that may end badly, as in dead.

Suspension of belief is key to enjoying this hot tidbit. A crew of guys taking down another crew during a diamond robbery with no police in sight and then all that hot sex. *fans self* Seriously. Who does it that much in a few short hours and in public, too? Woo doggie! And cowgirl, reverse cowgirl, missionary and everything in-between. *winks* The plot is thin, but the sex is hot. I really like the characters, too. All-in-all a yummy quick read that will make you want a Max for yourself.

Lucy Matthews is not quite twenty-one, a bit naïve, and totally swept off her feet by Max Callaghan. She is not normally an adventurous or outgoing person but once she looks into Max's gorgeous green eyes she loses all of her inhibitions. It was fun to go along with her on her adventure, even though we are not sure what side of the law Max and his crew are on. He seems genuine and forthright, he says all the right things but is he too good to be true?

The supportive cast's dialogue is entertaining, I love Rabbit, Keagan, and even Mario. The characters are well developed and I hope to see more of them in future stories. I also want to know more about Uncle Mick and Big Al, we didn't get the full story between these two characters! The plot is fast moving, all happening in a single event filled night. The biggest problem is I want more!

If you are looking for fun, fast, sexy read, that actually has a plot this may be a book you would enjoy.

FYI: Adult language, situations, and explicit sex scenes.

I hate rating books low, but it has to be done sometimes. I really thought that this would be a good book and if it wasn't from looking at other reviews I wouldn't have known it was so short.

This book had such a great blurb that I had to request it on Netgalley. Aside from the first kiss this book just went downhill for me. Instantly these two acted like they had been together months instead just meeting hours before. I think that had things been thought out properly then this could have been a great story with a promising plot line. However, it was all pushed to be within a few hours. This book contained more sex then anything. I do love a good erotica. but I need more of a story line if I am supposed to believe these two have fell in love all of a sudden.

Had the book been better developed I think it might have been good. The characters had potential but unfortunately it was never seen.

Thanks to netgalley and Cinnabar silk for ARC and in exchange for honest review.

This story happened in a one night.
First dates goes wrong for Lucy in so many different ways.
Lucy was two nights away from 21 but she wasn't allowed to be in to the club. So her date decided to sneak in through back that's when Lucy witness the diamond heist.
When she was caught, she is immediately drawn to Max from the start. (that was quick) Lucy knew she shouldn't be drawn to him but she couldn't help herself.
Max pretends Lucy as his girlfriend to his crew and she was along for the ride.
It was difficult to relate to Lucy and she does seem like she is desperate and she can't get enough of Max so they are getting on as much as they could. It was confusing until the end and it really flopped at the end.. I just wished there were little more suspense or more of their back story.
It was short read but was disappointing.

This book is a short read and though I don’t believe that in real life anything like this story would take place. I do think that the beginning of the story when Lucy Matthews who is on a date and then the whole chase scene and her boyfriend is not the type of guy she was expecting. That part I could see and was funny and was the beginning of the story that lead her to be holding a bag of diamonds. Turns out the men that she thought were the police were not and she is caught up into a night of unexpected events that even I cannot imagine happening all in one night and then after everything she be happy with the guy that started it all Max Callaghan. But as I said it is a story and a fast read and it was fun. Overall not bad. I got this book from net galley.

Lucy was on a date with Zach they had been set up by mutual friends. Lucy hopes for a prince ends up with a toad. When he takes her to a club she can’t get into he talks her into sneaking in. They go through the basement and find two groups of men. Lucy realizes they are in trouble. As a man takes the diamonds from the other men. She thought the man was a cop but realizes she was wrong when she ends up with the bag of diamonds. The man’s name was Max and he claims Lucy is his girlfriend to protect her.
I just couldn’t get into this story was to far fetched as far as I am concerned. Didn’t Lucy or Zach for that matter have any idea of safety? I just didn’t enjoy this story.

I loved this book, it was short, to the point and it had Max who was seriously sexy, "Max threw his head back and laughed. “You’re so effing adorable.” He pressed his lips to mine again." He's really caring and knows how to soothe his woman, "he rubbed soothing circles on my back. “Of course you do. And any guy would be lucky to have you pick him." Max has high stamina and Lucy is just so cute:
"Damn it. That’s not how I imagined it. Next time I’ll remember the condom.”
I buried my fingers in his damp hair. “How long before the next time?”
He lifted his head to smirk at me. “I need at least ten minutes."
I really loved this book.

It was a very quick fast paced read which I didn't realize till I started reading it. There was too much of the rushed insta-love thing that it didn't feel real it or connect with the characters or plot. I enjoyed it to a degree and would read more by this author but it wasn't worth more then 2 stars for me.
It was very steamy (I mean sex sex sex) and a lot of suspense to it but it just felt rushed throughout and I couldn't enjoy it as much as like I say I didn't realize it was going to be that quick of a book, I prefer more of a story so you can connect with the characters more. Sorry but wasn't for me.

Sometimes I'm just in the mood for a hot, smutty read, with maybe a little story to it, and Diamond Duplicity is just the ticket, not to long, very sleazy, and has a little intrigue. Great to fill one of those dreary afternoons.
The plot line has Lucy on a date, she gets caught up in a diamond heist and ends up falling for Max who is one of the gang. The story from there has them trying every sexual position possible. I have to say, Max sure had some stamina.
This was a fun quick read. The story and it's dialogue did make me giggle several times, and the secondary characters were great additions to the plot.

I really loved this book! Though it's fast paced, you never feel like you're missing anything from the plot. I also liked how when the characters had their sexy time, it didn't last for pages. It was quick, hot and perfect.

The dynamic between Lucy and Max is a mixture of hot and sweet. Their physical connection to each other burns up the pages, but the emotions is what draws you to the characters.

If you're looking for a quick read that's full of spice and some adventure, then this book is for you! From page one, you're sucked into the life of Lucy and Max, and boy is it one hell of a ride!

This was a fun and sexy short story. Lucy meets Max while being in the wrong place at the wrong time. To protect her Max claims that she is his girlfriend. Lucy is suddenly thrown into what is a jewel heist. There was a lot packed into the story. I wouldn't mind seeing this as a full length novel, including some info on Max's family and what exactly they are into.

Lucy thinks she may have found her guy when she goes out on a date with Zack, but after a rough start, prince charming turns into a toad, and the real prince charming ends up being a diamond thief.

Max is instantly attracted to Lucy and doesn't want her out of his sight. To keep her safe he brings her and her date with, however things turn when they can't keep their hands off each other.

From bad guys, to hot sex, to sassy attitude it was a quick fun read and i enjoyed reading it.

Shew, is it just me or is it getting hot in here!!! This book was sexy, funny, mysterious, and a whole lot more sexy all wrapped up in a short read. Lucy is naive but willing to take chances and Max is all kind of hot wrapped up in a sexy and dangerous package. Rabbit and Keegan bring on the comedy in the novel and I can't wait to read the next installment in the series.

Cute story. It was short but full of steam and action. Lucy was a shy girl who was out on a date with a guy she quickly realizes is a jerk. She stumbles across Max and his crew in what she assumes is a police takedown. She is quickly proven wrong. This is the start a action filled night of sex, gun fire and a life saving rescue. They length of the book makes it hard to really get into the characters. The story still was fun to read because of the little mystery.

Diamond Duplicity was an exciting read because the authors did a fabulous job at creating a fast paced story, chalked full of mystery, humor, realistic characters, and enough hot sex to make you weak in the knees. Max is swoon worthy! However, I am quite intrigued by Rabbit and Keagan. Well done, ladies!
