Controlling his griffin just got a whole lot harder…
Landscape gardener Kieran’s unruly shifter side is getting out of hand. Mowing lawns? Griffin time. Grocery shopping? Griffin in the cart. This is definitely not a good time to finally meet his fated mate… especially when she’s only in town for a mandatory vacation.
Workaholic Natasha never intended to return to her small hometown. And she’s definitely not planning to stay. But between the delicious pies and the even more tempting Kieran, it’s hard to remember why she ever left. Still, it would be foolish to fall for a guy who keeps disappearing… right?
But Kieran’s not the only mystery in town. Between the possibly haunted house and a definitely charming hunk, Natasha becomes torn between the life she knows or embracing the unexpected – whatever that turns out to be.
In a town of treats, legends, and unexpected flights of fancy, can Natasha find love that truly lifts her off her feet? Unwrap the mysteries of Girdwood Springs and find your slice of romance!

Zoe Chant loves writing paranormal romance. Over a cup of tea (or something stronger) she whips up sexy tales of hunky heroes and adventurous heroines to tantalize and satisfy her readers. Sizzling hot romance, no cliffhangers!
While series should ideally be read in order, all of Zoe’s books are standalones and can be read in any order. This includes books within series.
Sweet shifter romance with a little twist. Natasha is a high powered type A personality who works killer hours and her climb towards the top is the result. So is her constant state of fatigue. When her boss receives a few email messages from her that make no sense he decides to check up on her and finds her asleep with her face on her keyboard. He sends her off on a month's leave to get some much needed R&R. So she decides to go back home to her old stomping grounds and finds the town has dramatically changed in positive ways.
Kieran is a griffin shifter with a big problem. His griffin form takes over at random times forcing Kieran to take a leave of absence from his job. He to decides to go back to a place where he has fond childhood memories. He decides to stay at his deceased uncle's home which is high in the mountains and fortunately isolated enough so his problem won't be a problem. While shopping for groceries in town he meets Natasha and realizes she's his fated mate.
Features: 🦅 A griffin shifter that shifts at random throughout the day in public.
🥧 A high level marketing executive that's sent on forced leave back to her hometown.
🦅A very awkward meet/cute & love at first sight. Closed door, no spice.
🥧 Takes place in a haunted house in a small mountain town.
Overall, this one was good but not my favorite. While each one is written by different authors, the first two felt like the same person. This one has a completely different writing style, and she writes both characters as extremely uncomfortably awkward. It's cute in some places but cringy in others.
Also, I didn't care for the cussing throughout the book. It just distracted from the coziness of the scene.
The ending felt rushed. It might have been better to extend it out a bit instead of cramming it all in a few chapters. I'll read the next book, but this one definitely wasn't my favorite.
I really enjoyed this sweet and heartwarming novella about Natasha and Kieran. Natasha is a human on a month long forced hiatus from her high stresses marketing job returns to her small home town, Girdwood Springs. Kieran is a griffin shifter who is struggling with his griffin who keeps forcing him to shift. He’s come to Girdwood Springs to his great uncle’s house to see if he can solve his issue. When he happens upon Natasha he knows instantly she’s his mate but telling her might be complicated. Despite being short, the story was well written and the characters were well developed. This book has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, real life issues, imperfect characters, laughter, and so much love. Another great Zoe Chant book.
Kieran is a Griffin shifter who's beast has been having temper issues lately. Like what happened to Gale's unicorn in book #1, he's been looking for their mate. So Kieran left the city to reside in his late Uncle Henry's estate.
But he never expected to meet his mate at the grocery store!
Natasha grew up in that small town and left 15 years ago with no intention on returning. When she burns out in the city, her boss demands a months vacation. She never expected the town to change or charm her so much. But meeting the hot man in the grocery store was what really made the biggest impression.
But when his Griffin cancels a date with her, she refuses to accept his excuses. But when she falls and his animal saves her; her eyes have no choice but to believe his story.
Natasha has been put on a mandatory month-long vacation. Kieran is in town to try and figure out what is going on with his griffin. When they meet, Kieran senses that she is his mate. But his griffin is bursting out at complicated times, and things are not going well when he stands Natasha up for their first date. Will he be able to apologize and get her to see him again, or will he be out of luck?
The pace is fast and the tone is uncertain with a character oriented storyline that has no real steamy scenes, but some interesting action. The characters are vivid and engaging. This is a stand-alone story, but you will get more out of it if you read these in order! Enjoy!
This is the third book in the Shifters and Sweets series and once again I was completely drawn into this super sweet story. This time we get Natasha and Kieran's story. I thought they were such a sweet couple. He's having trouble with his shifter side and she's discovering that what she wanted for herself may be different than what she had previously thought. Add in the mystery of a haunted house and you have a fun story. I can't wait for more from this series
This is a pretty innocent little romance. No violence. No described sex. Just a high powered marketing manager going back to her home town for vacation and meeting the man of her dreams, also on vacation. They fall in love with the place in addition to each other.
Just to make sure it's not too boring, there's something going bump in the night at Kieran's uncle's house, and of course, Kieran is sometimes a griffin.
Kieran decides to go to his Uncle Henry's home for a rest. He's having trouble controlling his griffin. He runs into Natasha at the grocery store where they both reach for a can of beans. Kieran knows instantly that Natasha is his mate. After he misses their date, he tells her he's a griffin only his griffin refuses to talk to him or change shapes. His house is haunted. Good story and characters.
Delightful read. I very much enjoyed Natasha and Kieran came together. Poor Kieran's Griffin became uncontrolled bursting out whenever it wanted . Natasha forced to take vacation from her grueling job. Both returning to their home town. After a chance meeting over a can of beans and fingers touched. Kieran knew his fated mate was Natasha. Great storyline.
Natasha’s and Keirans story was so fun though I should have said and the Griffins story as was so fun! Griffin had quite the personality and so far this is my favorite though I enjoyed the first two as well. I like that while “Zoe Chant” writes multiple shifter story’s in multiple series some series have different “rules” or customs makes things more interesting. I also enjoy the more romantic vs sex, nice clean read.
I love how both Natasha and Kieran both had history with where they ended up and that they had to come back when life was being difficult. I also love how Kieran wasn't the typical tough and rough shifter but had times when his Griffin threw tantrums. Made both characters so relatably human. It was also nice to see previous characters too.
I liked the story. I did find it odd that the griffin acted more human than animal. Most of the times the animals are all about their mates. The fact that he stood up the mate and ignored the mate was just strange in that it was more of a human trait than an animal trait. I liked the added spookiness of a ghost. Fun times!
It was a fun and interesting story. Kieran and Natasha both learning that fate has plans and your along for the ride. Both learning that your mind body and soul and your Griffin needs rest and to be heard before they become cranky. Kieran needed to hear his Griffin and forgive each other. Sprite learned to trust humans and being let free to go home.
This final instalment in the Shifters & Sweets book was... sweet, but nothing particularly memorable. The malfunctioning shift form element felt like it was a repeat of Book 1, and the whole communication breakdown issue just went on too long for me.
That said, it was still an entertaining read, and I'm glad to cross another series off my list.
Loved the Griffans human side and the dynamics of their disagreement and coming together to have there mate fall for them. Author also did something unique that I enjoyed. A glimpse into there future not just week or so ahead. Skipped over some parts of relationship but I was okay with that.
About a griffin and a human. This was a cute and quick read. It flowed well and the characters were real. The Griffin had a mind of its own and wanted to be heard. She was easy going and immediately drawn to him. I’ve read all three books so far and enjoyed them all
Thought it was a good book, she always crafts well rounded characters, with humor. The only thing was somehow, sometimes it seems Ms. Chant is rushing to just get the books done with. And it seems like some characters are just put into the book just to fill pages and could become more involved in the story.
This book, there is no "extra magic" for a griffin like in the first two books, and the griffin seems to run things more than the man. The female main character doesn't seem to feel the mating bond like the others. It was good, just didn't seem like it fit. Also, his line of work seems too close to the main character in the first book.
Closed-door romances are not common in the shifter genre. I'm so glad to have found this series. An advertising executive and a Griffin shifter lay the groundwork for a sweet story about a disgruntled griffin and a tired human. With a little mystery, this novella is a fun, quick trip into a special location and some special characters. 5 happy little stars -ncv
Cute griffin, with a sweet story and a happy ending. Overworked and stressed marketing person, meets a shifter with a misbehaving griffin, after a rocky start they connect, not exciting or adventurous, just a nice happy story
This book was a great way to spend an afternoon. A heroine who is rethinking her life and a cute guy who’s gotten out of sync with his mythical shifter self. A community that is finding new life. Newly rediscovered old friends. Nice!
I have really enjoyed this series of books. I just wish there was more books. The series has a dragon, a unicorn, a griffin, a sprite, and three fated mates!
So cute! Kieran and Natasha are adorable! They took the long way around getting to know each other but it worked out. I was not expecting that ending. I was thinking it was some homeless guy in the attic but clearly I was wrong. Oh well it was interesting and mysterious all the same. Loved it!
Zoe Chant continues her series about mythical shifters who find their fated mates in Girdwood. The small town atmosphere and characters are welcoming and entertaining. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
This series was a joy to read. From all the ladies and shifters to the amazing imagination of adding Sprites too. Thank you allowing us to be a part of the Shifters and Sweets.
Zoe Chants books are always a fun read. The characters aren't always believable but you wish they were. Have fun reading about his shifter side acting up and finding his true mate.
I love these short stories! They always grab your attention and you just have to read it from cover to cover! The characters are wonderful and the storyline flows beautifully. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Read all three in order just because the stories do overlap just a bit. If you like gentle, shifter mate stories that will calm your heart and make you smile…these are short and very sweet. Too bad humans have lost their ability to find soul mates.
This is the last of the three ,i would never believe this lol but I guess it can happen no I'm not going to say, take some time off go to the mountain you might find what ya looking for have fun with this book I did
It's just a short flight through this cozy mystery, landing readers in a mildly spicy, sweet romance. I enjoyed the twist of that spirited surprise ingredient, giving Griffins and Apple Pies a tallon-ted spin, making it a lovely treat.
