"It's the perfect mix of mystery, thriller, and romance, all wrapped up in one addictive series!" -Reviewer

***
When Beth Young, a 33-year-old lawyer, is forced to return home to the family ranch after the death of her father, she's greeted by a town full of people she never intended to see again. The familiar faces remind her of the past, one that she has no interest in revisiting. However, the longer she stays, the more she’s drawn to the one person she could never quite move on from—or forgive.

But as she begins to confront her painful decade’s old secret, the murder of a beloved figure in the community leaves everyone reeling. Conflicting opinions, gossip, conspiracy, and wrong-time, wrong-place talk put Beth front and center in the investigation.

Now, Beth's goals of staying out of the limelight and leaving town are ruined. Also, as potentially the last person to see her friend alive, she begins to grow desperate for answers herself. But with every uncovered secret, the stakes seem to rise. There’s a murderer lurking in the shadows of Rustdale, Texas…

And they’re closer than she ever imagined.

Suddenly, Beth isn’t sure who she can trust, and as she fights to find the truth, she’s forced to rely on the one person who hurt her the most. But sometimes, even in the worst of tragedies, the ties that bind are stronger than the dark forces determined to destroy them.

Will Beth have the chance to find healing amidst it all? Or will an insidious killer find her first?

ARC REVIEW 💥💥

Rating: 4/5 ⭐️

Thank you to the author & her team for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book! Definitely more thriller, whodunnit vibes with a sprinkle of long lost love! The plot was great, the twist was great, I enjoyed the characters. My negative is that the main character is supposed to be a criminal defense lawyer and she didn’t not act like one at all, really missing the knowledge and background! I was happy to note there is a second book coming out in 2025 that will *hopefully* answers so more questions about the past of the other characters! 🤩

You should definitely pick this one up next week if you enjoy small town thrillers! 📚

Oh man did I expect that as the murderer? Oh no no no, but man this book keeps you on your TOES!!! I honestly thought it was someone else and I got it 100% wrong. This book just the perfect murder mystery book. There suspense, mystery, and so much more! I read this book in one day. You do get 3 POV, Beth, Garrett, and Blaze. So you get to see from their POV but mainly Beths. I loved having the two men's because you got to learn more and more about them.

And she casually added the other book in there with Blaze!!!! When I was reading about him and his background, there isn't much in it, I was like what's up with his story! Then I see another book from his POV, I was like I need to read!!! Oh my oh my! If it's anything like this one. I'll die from knowing what happened!!

Oh my this book had me hooked since the beginning, so many twists and turns leaving you to figure out who done it, at times I would always change my guess to every person I read about but that ending though I did not expect that until it was getting closer to the ending but very well done in keeping the readers guessing who the perpetrator could be throughout the story. 👏

I enjoyed the multiple POV’s even though I thought I wouldn’t enjoy the 3rd person perspective of Garett and Blaze but as I kept reading on, I found that I actually don’t mind it as it makes the mystery that much more interesting. I’m a huge romance reader and although it had very little romance in it, I still loved reading about Garrett and Beth’s situationship I just wish we would of gotten more from their past 🥹 that is the reason for the .5 deduction out of 5 stars. But other than that this story was so good and it’s definitely one I would re read again! I can’t wait for the 2nd book in the series, Blaze’s history is intriguing to say the least and I need to know more about him, he’s my favorite male character from the story 🥰

Huge thank you to the Author for letting me be part of the ARC Team and giving me the opportunity to review this book :) I’m excited for future books by this author! Wonderful job with this book.

4.25/5

This book was so good that I read it in one sitting! Definitely more of a mystery while the romance is in the background but it was SO good! Loved the cozy small town everyone knows everything going on type vibes we got in this. The tension building in the romance area was perfect along with the suspense of the mystery kept me immersed in this book. Beth was such an interesting main character, I really liked learning more about her and the town. I had my suspicions about the end but really was caught off guard by the twist! I will definitely be reading the second book next year!

Thank you to Cassie Bowen for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

4.25/5 stars - This story flew by, and I was intrigued the whole time! Second chance romance, small town, murder mystery - this made for a good time. I could not figure out who did it until close to the reveal, but it was still a fun ending.

I did think the final scenes were a little rushed, which is why I put this at 4 vs. 5 stars. The romance was definitely put to the back burner, but it felt insta-love at the end. I know there’s history between the two characters, but we didn’t know all the history so it wasn’t as believable.

Definitely still a fun time!

Holy cow!!! There was something in this book that made me not want to put it down! I spent most of the book thinking it was one person, then something would happen and I’d switch to thinking it was someone else! I was wrong the whole time!!

The amount of romance added in was just enough and so good! The writing of this book was perfect. I can NOT wait to read book 2!!!

This book had my attention right from the start. I love a good mystery, and that's what this book is, with a love story thrown in as well. I was very surprised by who did it! I normally figure it out, but this time, I was wrong. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the second one! Thank you to the author and her team for this ARC.

Loved this book!
From chapter 1 it was so hard to put down. The suspense, the mystery, the thriller, it was just perfect! Has you questioning throughout the book and then the big shocking moment at the end had me gasping! A fast read and absolutely a book worth reading ♥️

Favorite quote “it’s not over between you and me, Beth. It’s not done. You could run away right now, fly a thousand miles across this country, find someone new, and try to forget, but you and I both know, it’ll never be over for us.”

I love a good thriller, especially when it weaves in romance and a satisfying ending. Everyone Loved Her kept me on my toes from start to finish. “But people in a small town tend to do a lot of talking, even when they don’t know what they’re talking about.—Don Roff”

Talk about the start of a thrilling new series full of intrigue, betrayal, romance, and mystery. Everyone Loved Her is a quick-paced, small-town thriller that finds 33-year-old Beth back home for her father’s funeral. It has been years since she returned due to a personal tragedy and years since she spoke to anyone in town, including her ex-boyfriend, Garrett. It doesn’t take long before she’s embroiled in another tragedy that hits this small town and is forced into the company of her ex and the new ranch manager and deputy. Her return back home is now full of discourse and suspicion when an old classmate is found dead, and she and her ex, Garrett, are considered suspects.

“That’s the thing about small towns, a person grows up with the small-minded notion that somehow, they’ll stand out in the sea of people. But it’s not easy, and the sea is much bigger than anyone can wrap their mind around.”

I liked the slow-build intro that brought Beth back to Rustdale, and we got a small taste of how the town saw her after the tragedy years before. The supporting cast of characters was introduced organically, and it was easy to feel like I was in a small town with the rumor mill running amuck. I was so immersed in Beth and Garrett’s history and backstory that the pivotal moment of murder popped up and surprised me, and from there on, I was hooked on trying to figure out who was guilty.

“But it’s hard to be strangers with someone whose secrets are burned in your head.”

There were instances when Beth’s character did not seem consistent, either with who she seemed to be with her behavior or with her job as a defense lawyer. However, I could see how it could have been a result of her life changing drastically and the stress of the murder and ongoing investigation. The unreliability of her character made it more challenging to connect with her but did not change the story's overall effect. Across the board, Everyone Loved Her was a solid, enjoyable read, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a convincing thriller. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Thank you to Cassie Bowen for chance to read this!

“Everyone Loved Her: A Suspenseful Small Town Romantic Mystery Thriller” by Cassie Bowen

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75
Genre: Romantic Thriller
Tropes: Small-Town, Second Chance, Closed Door
**Definitely more of a thriller than a romance!!

Thank you so much to Cassie Bowen and her team for an ARC copy of this book♥️

Review:
Folks, this one had me HOOKED from the very. first. page. The pacing was absolutely perfect and I flew through the whole dang thing in like a day in a half. I couldn’t put it down. AND it’s less than 300 pages. I enjoyed the history between the FMC, Beth Young, and the MMC, Garrett Meyers. It added such juicy tension and intrigue AND planted a seed of doubt in my mind about ‘whodunnit.’ I didn’t even come close to guessing!

One critique that I did have was that the FMC, Beth, was supposed to be a criminal defense attorney, but a lot of the action she took, being a suspect in the murder this book is centered around, didn’t feel like it was in alignment with how an individual with extensive experience in criminal cases would act. Also, there was a traumatic event in Beth and Garrett’s past that extensively damaged their relationship which I felt could’ve been flushed out a bit better. And lastly, I would’ve preferred a longer epilogue as I felt some of the dialogue between the characters was more them telling us what had happened 8 months after our final chapter than them showing us, and it felt a bit rushed and forced (IN MY OPINION).

All in all, I loved this book and think it was the perfect mix of suspenseful mystery/thriller and small-town second chance romance. I am so excited to checkout the second book in the series. Would definitely recommend!🔫🛻🥃⏳

First of all this is my first read from Cassie Bowen and I'm obsessed. I was instantly hooked from the beginning all the way to the end. I read this book in one day.

I rate this book
4.5 ⭐

What I loved about this book:

-I typically love romance books (and I do love some spice) but this story did not need spice to keep me engaged or to feel/see the love and yearning between Beth and Garrett (and at times Blaze).

-Loved the mystery thriller theme of this book and all the characters that were involved- I really did not know who did it. Also I was intrigued by Blaze's past and Im super happy that he decided to stick around instead of leaving.

-My heart felt for Garrett- I absolutely wanted to the best for him and although what happened in the past happened- I really wished he had his redemption he deserved.

-Loved the multiple POVs- I wasn't sure how I would feel given that Beth's pov was 1st person and Blaze and Garrett's were 3rd person but I liked it. (again I do generally like 1st person POV as I feel more connected to the characters- but I understand as to why it was 3rd person POV for Blaze and Garrett)

The only reason I am knocking off from .5 - is that I wanted more of a backstory of Garrett and Beth (I would have loved to read scenes of their young romance and a little more on the insight that lead to the accident (since Beth still could not remember what exactly happened).- But this is a preference.

I can't wait until book 2 comes out! I plan to add this book to my collection.

If you love: mystery thriller, murder mystery, small town, brother's best friend, forbidden/secret romance, and second chance romance then I would highly recommend this book!

Well after a very late night of reading to finish this ARC. All I can say is - what a wild ride!
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. This story is a fictional novel that focuses on a mystery taking place in a small town and the how history may sometimes come back to haunt you - in unexpected ways.
Beth returns to the ranch after the passing of her father. It’s been years since she left her hometown after the terrible car crash that killed her older brother. Garrett has been stuck in his hometown since the car crash that killed his best friend. Still stuck on losing his best friend and girlfriend Beth all in one night, he drinks his life away to cope with the pain. When Beth comes into town and runs into an old high school friend, she’s invited to drinks with her. In a strange turn of events, her highschool friend exits quickly and is found dead the following morning near the scene of her brother’s car crash years ago.
Who killed this poor girl? What events led her to leave Beth so quickly without an explanation? Could Beth have changed anything? Why are all the town eyes on Garrett after her murder?
I huge thank you to @cassie.bowen.author for this ARC! There is already a sequel in the works. Now - if you’re looking for a mystery to read this spooky season? This is it. Add to cart - right now. It released today! 📚.

Arc Review

Loved this book was a great thriller book with a who’s done it plot.

Beth our FMC comes back to her home town after 16 years. She’s just gotten a divorce from her narcissistic husband had to quit her job as a lawyer because they worked in the same firm. Comes back to the ranch she always called home after her dad dies. When she gets back she has to deal with the tragedy that happened years ago and comes face to face with the man she ran away from 16 years ago who she used to love.

Garrett a ghost from Beth’s past who she has not seen in 16 years. Something happened 16 years ago that changed both there lives one choose to run away and become a lawyer the other choose to stay and become the town drunk. But when Beth comes back and he sees her everything changes he wants to become sober but all of a sudden he’s a suspect in a murder that he swears he didn’t do.

This debut thriller muster by Cassie Bowen I can’t say enough good things about this book it was written beautifully and kept me hooked the entire time I could not put it down. Occasionally I thought I knew who did it but when the time came to reveal the murder I was like never had that person cross my mind. I can’t wait for the next book in this series where we will get to see more about Blaze and here his story.

My Favorite Quote:

It’s not done. You could run away right now, fly a thousand miles across this country, find someone new, and try to forget, but you and I both know, it’ll never be over for us.”

This book was such a disappointment, more so than the other "mystery" novels I've read so far. For one, the mystery part didn't start until almost halfway through the book. The first half was just filled with a lot of teen angst, which is weird considering all the primary characters are in their thirties. The main character literally has zero connection with the mystery until an encounter with her ex forces her into it. She didn't solve the mystery, she didn't do any investigation, all she does is simp after some guy she dated way back when.

Also, this book kinda make it seem like anyone can instantly become sober if someone they loved told them to or just showed up, I guess. Which is deceitful, harmful and undermines how hard it is living with addiction and alcoholism.

All in all, I hate it. The one star is because I was able to finish it in a couple hours, even though it's mostly skimming. I do no recommend.

ARC review: As the author described to ARC reviewers, this book is a PG-13 thriller; while there’s romance, there is no spice. The romance does play a role in the plot, but it is not the key point, and instead adds to the story. I enjoyed how the author developed the story through Beth Young’s first person POV and Garrett Myers & Blaze Harris’ third person POV. Those third person chapters really contributed to the suspense and mystery by creating dramatic irony. The small cast of characters also makes the “whodunnit” reveal that much better. This book was very reminiscent of “The Nancy Drew Files” I read as a teenager, with enough action and clues to keep you engaged while still shocking you with the reveal. I’m excited to read the next in the series and learn more about the mysterious Blaze Harris.

ARC Review

This was a fast paced easy read packed with a great plot and a twist I did not see coming. Beth and Garrett gave me all the Sweet Home Alabama vibes and I really enjoyed their story line. I got equal parts romance and mystery which I love in a book of this genre. I do wish there would have been a little more character development in regards to Beth being a defense attorney in this story and some areas felt a little rushed in some aspects. HOWEVER, I anticipate maybe Beth’s professional side may be more prominent in regards to Blaze in the next book…? I’d love to see it!
Overall, this was a great read and I think it will be a great series going forward. I can’t wait to continue Blaze’s story in February!

This was my first ever ARC and I really enjoyed having first dibs on the beginning of this series!

4.5 stars

"Everyone Loved Her" is a captivating small-town thriller/romance that kept me hooked from start to finish. The author masterfully blends suspense and romance, creating a story that is both heart-pounding and heartwarming. The small-town setting adds an extra layer of suspense and intrigue, with secrets lurking around every corner.
The plot twists are well-executed and kept me guessing until the very end. The romance element is beautifully woven into the thriller aspect, providing a perfect balance that enhances the overall narrative.
I gave this book 4.5 stars because it delivered on all fronts – engaging characters, a gripping plot, and a satisfying blend of genres. If you're a fan of thrillers with a touch of romance, "Everyone Loved Her" is definitely worth a read.

Look, I’m as surprised as you that you’re reading a NON SPICE review from me, but here we are. Cassie delivers a solid who done it, with a hint of romance and a side of what’s to come.

Beth comes back home to Rustdale to her father’s death only she gets more than what she bargained for. See, not only has she not been back since a tragic accident involving her brother and her boyfriend Garrett, but now a classmate has been found dead.

Beth is not only dealing with her grief, but trying to handle her family ranch finances, the new death and Garrett comes back into her life.

We also get Blaze, he’s the ranch manager of Beth’s family ranch as well as an officer. His story is interesting and as I said prior. We’re getting set up for what’s to come and book 2 belongs to him.

Firstly, I am so grateful to have been selected as an ARC reader for this novel in exchange for an honest review.

I rate this 4.5⭐️

I loved it. I really did. A common complaint I have with books is that they’re 100 pages too long. I could have done with 100 more pages of this book. I needed more.

The romance really is closed door. It’s a tasteful addition to the rest of the story, but it doesn’t take away from the mystery aspect of the story.

I liked all of the characters if I’m being honest. I just wish I got more of their story, more of their day to day. I really enjoyed them.

Also, the twist got me. I can’t wait until the next book in the Rustdale series comes out, I’ve already pre-ordered it!

Thank you Cassie Bowen for the opportunity to ARC read your book.
NO SPOILERS !!
I am usually not one for Thriller/mystery books but I took a chance on Everyone Loved Her and I do not regret it !
I truly enjoyed the small town aspect of “there is nothing you can do without the town knowing”. While this is a romantic thriller , the romance was more a tension in the background type of thing but there nonetheless. Every chapter I was left with so many questions and more suspicious of who was responsible. I did enjoy being able to get multiple POVs throughout the book, it added more suspense. The twist at the end was mind blowing and I honestly didn’t see it coming ! So if you’re looking for a small town thriller/mystery book .. then look no further !!

I really enjoyed this book and I feel like I flew through it! The main plot of the story is the murder mystery while the romance plays a small part in the background. The story was good and had me on my toes with each additional piece of the puzzle that was revealed and I did not see that twist coming. The tension building between the characters was done well and I really enjoyed the pacing of the book.

I’m glad that we got some answers, but the book still leaves us questioning some things about a certain MMC. I’ll definitely be picking up the second book when it releases next year!

If you like small town thrillers, you should definitely pick this one up!

WOW, this book really surprised me!
This was my first read by Cassie and I can definitely say she gained a new reader!
I could not put this book down from start to finish, I really needed to know what was going to happen next! I think the closed door aspect was such a refreshing part about this as well. I love some spice, but sometimes I like to have a story that has more going on then just the spice aspect.
I was not sure how I would feel about the switching of POV by First to third person back and forth, but It honestly did not bother me. I actually found it perfectly done with the way the store is laid out.

I am VERY intrigued with blaze and I can't wait to see what is going to happen with his story!

I don’t even know where to start!!! This book was AMAZING, like seriously!! I definitely enjoy some good drama in a book and that’s what it had like every 5 seconds and I ATE it up!! This was more than a mystery/thriller it had so many factors about life and loss, and definitely made me emotional at some parts. Plus the possible love interest with complicated pasts and the whole small town vibe was so well done. There were also so many twists that were entirely unexpected, and I truly cannot wait to see what happens in the next book!! Guys I urge you to read it you will not regret it!!! Not to mention it’s perfect for spooky season!!!

I plowed through this book in one sitting even though I had other things to do… It was that good! If you like romance, mystery, thriller, and small town drama, this is for you.

The writing style kind of reminded me of Sandra Brown, but the TENSION. Oh my GOSH. The romance was sweet and all the things I wanted.

I don’t want to give spoilers but I didn’t see the ending coming.

A top read for me this year, and I can’t wait for the second one! I’ll be adding Cassie Bowen to my list of authors to follow for sure.

ARC review: This was nothing like I have ever read. I have never read a book considered both a thriller and a romance book. This book was captivating. I have not been able to read books very fast lately and I read this one in only a couple days. I love when a thriller proves me wrong. I was so convinced that it would end how I didn’t want it to and that the main character would have to find a way to deal with it. But knowing it wasn’t who I thought it was going to be was a relief. I can’t wait to read the next books and find out more on Blaze. He seems to be a little suspicious to me.

I enjoyed this book. I like the twist that I didn’t see coming. I was excited to read a romantic thriller as I’ve read thrillers and romance books but not a book that combines both genres. I enjoyed getting to know the main characters and I’m excited to read the next book when it comes out next year to see one of the characters storyline continue.

One of the things I really enjoyed about the author is her ability to grab my attention and get me to like characters I didn’t think I would like.
