Author Muse writes such captivating characters! I loved this story, especially the forbidden aspect of it and how strong Scarlett truly needs to be throughout it. There were a lot of twists and turns, mixed with healthy doses of spice, which left me eagerly reading the next chapter. I personally looooove when a book ends on a cliffhanger, and I’m excited for the second half to be released!!

Well, what should I say about this book now?
Let's just start with the fact that the first edition 'Her Forbidden Alpha' is MY favorite book from Muse and I've read it more than 4 times. And I rarely reread books. Now as for the second edition?
DAMN!
I totally - absofklutely LOVED it. From the start till the end.
Even if I knew the story, I once again lived it to my core. I loved the in-depth details and the first-person POV. Also, the present tense was so much better.
Now things that I noticed and really really loved.
First and foremost. Elijah's POV. He is my favorite of all the Alphas but now that I got to read his thoughts well he got himself so many more points. I love the way that he cared about Scarlett, that he was taking his time in noticing her, and I don't mean the time in checking her out but the tiny details as for example that she was alone and distancing herself from the family. He was always there for her without asking anything in exchange.
Then Scarlett's POV, well it helped me see better how inside of her cold exterior there was a woman who just needed to be loved. Even when Elijah was there for her no matter what she was still sceptical about his care.
The different POV's. A little bit of insight in Amelia - well I do believe that a little bit of witche's blood runs in her veins - was very good, plus Jessica and Indigo helped me see things from a different perspective. Not to mention Zidane. Okay... He is twisted and sick in the brain so I don't know how Muse managed to write his chapters. Standing ovation for that, hun.
Well last, I love when a book ends with a nice cliffhanger and this book's end was BEST.
Now. The best scene from 1st edition was the Bloodmoon scene so I have to wait to read it in the second part. And this anticipation is really killing me. But Rome wasn't built in a day, so Muse take your sweet time because I'm sure it's worth it.
I think it's irrelevant to note about Muse's writing style evolution, but I will anyway. The first time I noticed it was the sneak peek of Kat's book at the end of Skyla Rossi's book 2. Well, your writing has ascended levels (from HFA) like a rocketship!
The book was AMAZING. Whoever hasn't read it or even the first editions I suggest not to waste any more time. It's an absolute must for werewolf-paranormal book lovers and a must for all the others as well.
Well if I could make a petition on Amazon or other review sites to rate it with more than 5 stars I'd do it because 5 is not enough for this book.

I read this book back in 2021, and I loved it. This was the book that opened my eyes to how much I love a good Forbidden romance (step-sibilings 👩🏽🍳💋).
Now, after reading Muse’s rewrite, I fell in love with Elijah, Scarlett, and the world she created all over again. I loved reading Elijah and Scarlett’s POV, as the original was in third person. Getting their internal dialogue outlining their concerns and struggles was everything I didn’t know I needed. The extra detail and care she put into the story was beautiful. Muse’s writing was absolute perfection. The character development for Elijah ans Scarlett was so well done. Muse completely enraptured me in this series again, and I’m dying for book 2 of the duet, My Only Luna.
I gave this book 🌶🌶🌶.5 because the spice be spicing and the chemistry between Elijah and Scarlett was also oh so good. But the tension was palpable 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I have no words to describe tension except as HOT. The banter between Elijah and Scarlett was top tier! I found myself grinning like a fool and blushing more often than not.
Scarlett was the definition of an absolute badass. She was strong and had endured so much. If you love a bad ass FMC, you'll love Scarlett.
I also forgot how delicious Elijah was. As the previous series progressed, he was portrayed as the dad, but ouf, he’s still a daddy for sure. He’s made it on my list of Book Boyfriends, and I don’t think he’ll be going anywhere anytime soon.
It does end on a cliffy, so be warned. But it is so worth the read! This is a series I will continue to recommend to everyone who will listen to me.

What can I say? Even though it is a rewrite and I loved the first book. One word AMAZING!!! Didn’t think a rewrite could get any better but it did. The push and pull between Elijah and Scarlet brings out the passion between them. Love the characters, love the plot, and intrigue. Can’t wait for the next book.

Enjoyed this book at maximum💞💖! The push and pull between Scarlet and Elijah, their banter, their passion! And than the clifhanger at the end which was unexpected😅🤫. Can't wait for the second part.

I didn't think my love for the rewrite would surpass the OG story but it surely did.
Reading Elijah and Red's story re-imagined is more detailed and has the FL and ML's POV's mostly.
We can read about the thoughts, fears, uncertainties of the main characters. Even can learn more about the villains' inner thoughts.
Loved seeing the deeper approach of all beloved characters and it added more beauty of this already passionate and exciting story.
I think I fell all over again in love with Elijah and respect Red's will and determination more.
I understand certain characters more and I feel disgusted by the way some people's minds work.
Moonlight Muse has upped her game in this book and made even more colorful the characters in it.
I have to warn you though: there are TW in this book, so before you start, check them. And like always we have a cliffy at the end of the book, but it's not really surprising because we talk about the Queen of Cliffhangers.
Have fun reading - again - the first book of the Power of Bonds Saga.

Five stars really doesn’t feel like enough for this second edition. Who would have thought changing from the third person to first person would have had such a huge impact? I loved the rewrite of this book! I couldn’t put it down and it still had me feeling all the feels. Plot twists and turns galore, another mighty fine book from Moonlight Muse. Definitely recommend reading this again 💖

Where to start?!
Well here goes! If you loved "Her Forbidden Alpha" you are going to love the reimagined version of the story in 1st person.
Like it's predecessor it's one hell of roller coaster ride and tugs on the old emotional heartstrings. This forbidden love story kept me captivated from the start. The book is left on a cliffhanger but who doesn't love a cliffhanger. This is only part one of Scarlett and Elijah's story but do not let that put you off from delving right into the shifter world of Moonlight Muse.
If you are re-reading this story then the plot line is still the same but with much more added content and interactions involving not only the star struck forbidden lovers but from their family and friends.
If you are new to the world of Moonlight Muse and The Power of Bonds Saga this book takes you into the world of shifters based in the UK.
The story follows the journey of Scarlett the strong feisty FML who thought her abusive past was behind her but she is forced to confront it head on and Elijah the overconfident stubborn MMC who is willing to break all the rules for her.
These two characters are both stepsiblings that have never seen eye to eye until Elijah returns from alpha training camp. He starts to see Scarlett in a whole new different light and the feelings Scarlett thought she had buried for him begin to surface. Both characters clash but there is no denying the chemistry between them. Although it is forbidden these too just can not fight the pull between them.
It's a love/hate relationship that has you crying out for more. Like any relationship it has its hurdles but as you can imagine the chemistry between these two builds up and becomes powerful and intense.
When you think everything is going to be fine Muse throws a curveball.
This book has everything you need: action, romance, adventure, and let's not forget, the added spice.

It is more captivating with Both Elijah & Scarlett's POV, their Inner thoughts, added conversations & spicy scenes. It felt like I was reading it for the first time and I fell in Love with Muse's writing and Elijah & Scarlett once again.
Scarlett is Headstrong , Fiery Alpha Female blessed by Moon Goddess. she has her secrets & past trauma hunting her. She keeps everything inside , stays strong and faces her inner demons and everything alone. She had a crush on Elijah from the beginning.
Elijah is Cocky , Arrogant , Playboy Alpha Heir and Scarlett's step brother. He's Hot & Handsome and gets what he wants with his charms.
Elijah & Scarlett were always teasing , mocking and challenging each other but when He returns from his training their equation changes and they desire each other. They craved the Forbidden Fruit they can't have. The game of lust & pleasure becomes more as feelings & emotions get involved. Elijah is so possessive & protective of her and supports her , helps her in healing.
Their banter is so amusing. The explosive chemistry , intense emotions and their inner dirty thoughts about each other is so Hot 🔥🔥 The intimate moments between them is so passionate & spicy .

Absolutely recommend!!! I'm not usually into rewrites, however this is my favorite book series, so I made the exception .. and I'm so glad I did.
For new readers, who aren't familiar with the story, if you are a fan of Paranormal romance genre then you'll be right at home. This book has everything we love... Werewolves, family and mate bonds, twists and turns and of course just the right amount of spice to heat things up.
The rewrite was masterfully done. The additional content and even the changed POV took a book I already loved and knew well, and enhanced it in a way that allowed adding, updating and renewing without compromising or changing the story itself. I feel like the rewrite has definitely solidified this book as the foundation on which the whole series is built, and it couldn't have possibly been done any better.
It is important to note that this book only covers about the first half of the original. I think splitting into two books was a good way to go - considering the length of the book. It also provided an opportunity for one of Muse's signature cliffhangers, that has left this girl excited with anticipation for the second half, even though I already know how the story goes!

What an absolutely amazing Remastered book of the Original Her Forbidden Alpha of the Alpha Series by Moonlight Muse.
Going into this book having read the original, I was wondering if Muse could up the ante. Well the lady brought her a game and blew me out of the park. The added content, and POV from other characters, besides Elijahs, that was missing from the Original, as it was written in the third person, just made it one of my favourites. I have been following Muse since June 2023 and with each book I read of hers, you can see how her style and language has grown. I give this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, if I could give it 10 I would. I love the banter and spice between Scarlett and Elijah.
Despite Scarlett's cool outer shell inside is a woman who is a fighter, who is loyal but above all just wants to be loved for herself. Elijah is still cocky but you can see his growth through out this book. They both compliment the other. I recommend reading the original then read this one. You will notice the difference and be more appreciative for doing so.

I have been following Muse since June 2023 and with each book I read of hers, you can see how her style and language has grown. I give this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, if I could give it 10 I would. I love the banter and spice between Scarlett and Elijah.
Despite Scarlett's cool outer shell inside is a woman who is a fighter, who is loyal but above all just wants to be loved for herself. Elijah is still cocky but you can see his growth through out this book. They both compliment the other. I recommend reading the original then read this one. You will notice the difference and be more appreciative for doing so.

If you like a spicy shifter romance, this book is for you. This forbidden romance is about Scarlett, a strong feisty FMC that is looked as an outsider by her fellow pack mates and Elijah, a playboy Alpha that is returning home and see Scarlett in a different light. They are constantly trying to deny their attraction to each other, because their love is forbidden. In the end will this be a fling or could it be fate?
This is a rewrite of Her Forbidden Alpha, which you do not have to read to follow along. I love this book better than the original because it is written in many POVs of the characters. This book is a start in the Museverse. It will cause you to want to read more of her work!

I have never read a re-write before. Gosh, have I missed out!
Every time I think Moonlight Muse can't outdo herself, she does. The original version is the first book that introduced me to my now favorite author. While it was awesome just to revisit this story and some of my favorite characters, it was very awesome to read the changes that were made. I honestly don't know how Muse does it!!!
Not only is the story captivating, but Muse makes you care about the characters.
Whether you've never read a book by this fabulous author or you have and don't think you need to revisit this story, trust me. You do.

Well Author Muse my dear you have made me fall for Elijah the bad boy Alpha all over again! I loved the original book, however, the dual POV now is amazing and I love the insight from him. Also, Scarlett (Red) is an amazing strong female character and I thoroughly enjoy when authors bring fierce leading women to the table. The banter, spice and drama all make this book what it is. But be warned there is a cliffy and I’m so happy I got to read this book and can’t wait for part 2 to come out. I can’t wait for the final outcome of Red and Elijah. 🥰

I didn’t think I could love Elijah anymore than I already did but here I am falling in love with him all over again 🥰 the extra bits in this book make it so different yet still the same but better. I love how you get more of other peoples perspectives and get to learn a little more about Indigo. Can’t wait for the next one ❤️

I have read every book this author has written and this is not a re-write, it's a full expansion with way more depth and experiences. The multiple POV is everything for me. I love how she expanded this story and gave so much insight on Scarlett past but also show the trauma Jessica and Indigo endured as well. The love that grows between her Elijah is unparalleled and 🌶️🌶️🌶️. Lots of world building without skipping over the forbidden romance that is brewing between these two.
Muse you have done it again and I can’t wait for the rest of these stories.

I don't know where Muse has been all my life but I'm so glad I've found her books! I fell in love with her books and this one's no different. She has a way with character building that makes you feel all the feels right along with them. If I could give this story more than 5* I would

Reading the rewrite is like being able to read the book for the first time all over again. I have the biggest spot in my heart for Elijah and Scarlett and I absolutely loved every extra bit of detail, every new POV, every little extra bit of everything @author.muse gave us in the first half of this book.
In a steamy story of forbidden love, Scarlett, a badass alpha female has her feelings resurface for Elijah, the ultimate play boy alpha, now that he’s home from training who has eyes for her as well… even though they’re step-siblings.
Navigating their feelings in secret while living as a family, the unexpected chaos from Zidane finding them, and some tension between pack mates from a triggering night is a heavy burden on Scarlett’s shoulders but thankfully eased by Elijah sticking by her side every step of the way.
Literally counting down the seconds until we get the second half of the book, but honestly, @author.muse has one of the absolute best werewolf series I’ve ever read. If you are into shifter romance, take the time to start here!

I luckily received this as an ARC. Brutal cliffhanger. I’m simultaneously worried and excited for the next book. Ugh I need the next. Okay I love this. This book had all the angst I wanted and needed. The pain was painful and the romance was so good. Initially I wanted to punch him in the face but he did get way better. Ugh so good. Some things to note this is a multi pov. Some things this book contains are SA mentioned and talked about, gore, violence, bullying, Oh and misogyny, Torture and child abuse.

My Forbidden Alpha is a bit of a taboo (stepsiblings) spicy werewolf romance between Elijah and Scarlett that has been updated with some new scenes and written from multiple POVs.
Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Spice Level: 3 out of 5 peppers
Series or Stand-Alone: This is the first book in The Power of Bonds Saga.
Ending: This book ends on a cliffhanger. At the time of this review (October 2024) the second book has not been released yet.
Likes
- I enjoyed reading some new scenes in the book and being able to experience what was going through various character's minds
- Good mix of plot and spice
- The plot moves at a nice pace; Nothing felt too drawn out even though there are several chapters and this is just the first book
Dislikes
- Some grammatical issues that were a bit distracting and disrupted the smooth flow of reading such as using the same words from sentence to sentence and punctuation
- A bit too much hot/cold and push/pull in the relationship for my liking but I’m not a huge fan of miscommunication or lack of communication tropes
This book does feature several triggers that may be disturbing to some so make sure you check them out before reading.
Moonlight Muse has a knack for writing entertaining books you can immerse yourself in with excellent plots and plenty of spice thrown in.
My Forbidden Alpha was the first book that I read by Muse a couple of years ago and I was immediately pulled in to continue reading her other books.
I really enjoyed that she decided to do a bit of a rewrite of My Forbidden Alpha to feature some new scenes and points of view that weren’t originally featured in the first release.
Even though miscommunicating or lack of communication is one of my least favorite tropes, Scarlett and Elijah are such well-written and strong, unique characters that I can overlook that frustration and still really enjoy what I’m reading.
If you enjoy spicy werewolf romance and enjoy the stepsibling trope, I definitely recommend giving My Forbidden Alpha a read.
I can’t wait for the second book to be released!

My Forbidden Alpha
While I read the new version of Elijah and Red's story, I fell all over again for them, I was so immersed in all the new details and context that Author Muse has given in the rewrites. It made the story more exciting and helped understanding the characters better.
Let me tell you, the first pov gave much more background about the characters, their feelings and thoughts. A great addition to the povs were the side characters that gave more details to the storyline. Grandma Amelia is one of the best, the little sister Indie - that in fact cares so much for her big sister - and Jessica.
The tension was oh so palpable reading Elijah thoughts and his craving for Scarlett, and hers about the forbidden desire she has for her stepbrother. The banter just added more spice to the build up between them.
One detail I loved the most was Elijah always being there for her, and him noticing her, the real Scarlett. He starts to unweill Scarlett's exterior layer by layer. She is the mystery he is drawn to know, not scared of the skeletons of the past nor about the consequenses of their relationship. He is amazed by her strength that only grows his desire to protect her.
Reading Zidane's thoughts was the hard part of the book, he is fcked in his brain. It must be difficult and consuming to pray in his mind and write his pov.
I want to say that Muse did an excellent work with this book and the best decision to rewrite The Alpha series, starting with Elijah and Scarlett, the ones that paved the road for the series and for the rewrites.
This book ends with a cliffhanger, but it only makes me want to read the second part of Elijah and Scarlett's story which continues in My Only Luna. Even though I already know what will happen from the first edition.

I recommend this book to all paranormal - shifter romance lovers, but not only.

This reimagined version is narrated in first person with additional scenes, enhancing the story of Scarlett, the first female alpha, and Elijah Westwood, the alpha heir.
I was thrilled when Moonlight Muse announced the re-write of My Forbidden Alpha. It’s always been one of my favorite GoodNovel books and one of the first I read. While it takes Elijah some time to get his act together, I love that Scarlett doesn’t just roll over and accept him. Scarlett is the kind of FMC (female main character) I love to read about—she makes him work for it.
Although book 1 isn’t the spiciest, the scenes Muse provides are well-written and purposeful. The character growth in both Scarlett and Elijah is a testament to Muse’s writing. Muse is mighty as she has this uncanny ability to capture your attention from the very first page and keeps you in that ecstatic grip of the best kind of suspense, always wanting more, always needing another dose. You just get addicted, willingly so, and cannot let go! Elijah and Scarlett's story has me totally hooked! This forbidden love story kept me on edge the entire time. That cliffhanger though—I'm already counting down the days until the second part is out! I’ve read other Moonlight Muses stories, but this was my first time diving into this one, and I didn’t even realize it was a remastered version of an earlier release. Loved it! The multi-POV was perfect, and now I’m dying to see more of Indigo and Amelia’s perspectives.
Scarlett has been through so much, and I love how she hides it all behind her strong, independent front. And Elijah...he's always been such a jerk to her, but the moment he starts seeing her differently? I was all in! He notices her need to be independent, and I loved seeing him soften and want to protect her. I’m so rooting for them to be mates! Seriously, I might have to read the original version just to keep myself sane while waiting for the next part.
Scarlett is the perfect FMC—witty, strong, and definitely no pushover. And Elijah? He’s the typical playboy alpha who doesn’t believe in love or mates, which perfectly sets up the enemies-to-step-siblings-to-lovers dynamic. I can’t wait for more of their story!
