There are rules when you agree to a fake relationship. Don’t let it get real.
Rosie is tired, so tired of being bullied, so she bravely starts a new school. She wants to blend in without any trouble coming her way, her plus size figure gets her noticed for all the wrong reasons. She wants peace but when the bad boy has a proposition for her that will help her overcome her fears, Rosie has to decide whether it's worth the risk.
Liam needs Rosie. She has to help him and he sees how she wants to be invisible when she can be so much more. His idea to fake a relationship will help them both, if he can convince her. When Liam's ex decides she isn’t done with him and causes trouble for Rosie, she wonders if she's made the biggest mistake of her life.
How will Rosie survive this new school and resist falling for the guy that believes in her?
As the first in its series, Meet Me at the Bus Stop serves as a heart-warming yet exciting introduction to endearing characters. If you love relatable heroines, bad boys and a story dealing with everyday teen problems, you will love MJ Ray’s unputdownable teen romance.
I live in the Northwest of England with my husband and two children.
In between working part time as a childminder, caring for my children and providing taxi duties I somehow find time to write. My ambition was always to write and I'm so happy that I'm finally getting a chance to do that.
I write YA sweet romance, where I get to create my dream man time and time again, and he gets to be different every time. I am lucky to have a real life perfect man at home that doesn't mind sharing me when I'm writing.
I hope you enjoy my books, as the ideas just keep coming there will be many more!
I'll be honest at the start of the book I wasn't completely hooked but as I kept reading- Oh. My. God. Rosie is loveable and relatable. The character growth was amazing for all the characters. The plot was structured and thought out. It had me captivated to the end. Unlike most dual or multi pov books I genuinely enjoyed seeing both sides of the relationship. It was cheesy and a little cliche but all in all 4/5 stars and I'm ordering meet me at the gym and meet me at our place rn.
Quote: The larger guy with the longish hair speaks up. "I'm Charlie. I’m in year ten. I’m the youngest here." That surprises me because he is so tall and is carrying a little weight; it makes him look older. He might be the youngest, but he is very handsome.
A young adult sweet romance, that is what it surely is. In this genre a good one. Enjoyed it, akdo I am 57 years of age.
I needed a break from the intense stories I’ve delved into. This is a very easy-going fast paced love story based in high school. It’s really easy to connect with as a lot of of what happened had happened with me, aside from the fake relationship haha). I was hooked from page one and I was sad to finish the book, but I’m just as excited to start book 2 because I absolutely love Riley and I’m so excited to see where her story goes.
I kinda feel bad for Riley...but alsoooo...... and omg the way he stood up for herrr, but also the way she stood up for herself like they were perfect for each other
Definitely wasn't expecting to like this but I was pleasantly surprised. Rosie is such a loveable character and it bothered e so much any time anyone was outright mean to her. Generally I don't like the whole fake dating thing as its just obviously lack of communication. But in this they learned a lot about each other while bettering the other. 7/10 would definitely recommend.
A great young adult book for teens to read (and their parents). A well written story about love, peer pressure and family values. The way the author intertwines the individual stories of Rosie and Liam keeps the reader guessing. I don't always enjoy flipping of viewpoints of characters but for this story it works well for the reader to really understand the relationship development. A great reminder of things aren't always what they seem, be careful what you ask for, and don't judge morals contained within the story without coming across judgy. I received this book for free but am quite happy to leave my review.
I could not put this book down. it was so fun to read, i got butterflies but the end was kind of boring but I still really enjoyed this book. waaay better than the love hypothesis. this book deserves way more credit.
A very quick read of about 150 pages, Meet Me at the Bus Stop is slightly reminiscent of Brigid Kemmerer's (😍) books: popular guy (Liam) meets awkward girl (Rosie,) both are dealing with family and emotional issues which become the bonding factor in their budding friendship. There's some cattiness and immaturity that goes with the teen years, but there are plenty of feelings and family interactions that are relatable to all ages. (Rosie's body image issues resonated with me strongly.) I'm glad I found it! These characters spoke to my heart.
A teenage story of learning to socialise, fit in with others, falling in love, setting goals, achieving distinctions through very hard work, sacrificing love for true friendship, working through problems, being honest with those that really matter, developing integrity and character, sometimes without the benefit of parental guidance and support. Mostly, its about two people who fall heavily in love while still in school. Its beautiful.
Honestly as a short book it’s good. It’s the normal cheesy fake-relationship bc I need to change my appearances but then becomes it’s real to me but not to the other person kinda trope. Same trope different story-ish. Cute but the writing was what made it such a low rating because the writing just felt way more juvenile and just threw me off.
I liked this one. Rosie had been through a lot and deserved a lot of love, she really did. I didn't like Liam at first but then he started to show his true colors and I really liked him. They were a cute couple and I didn't like her friend Riley, she irritated me
Cute, fast-paced and easy to get through. The story is definitely cliché, but it’s executed in a sweet and enjoyable way. However, there were a few typos and the writing style threw me off from time to time, which made it harder to fully stay immersed.
Still, the overall vibe was fun enough, and I do want to continue the series — sometimes you just need a light, quick read like this.
3,5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2 🩷🩷 Meet me at the bus stop is about a girl named Rosie who transferred to a new school. She is very insecure about herself because she got bullied at her old school about her weight. She, her new best friend Riley, the cutest guy at school named Liam and some other kinds take the bus to school every day. Out of the blue, Liam asks Rosie to be his fake-girlfriend to show the teachers he could be a good guy too. Rosie agrees eventually and that’s where everything begins. I think Meet me at the bus stop is the YA version of the Twisted series. I love the fake-dating concept even though you already know what’s gonna happen. And I like that the story is so relatable, because everybody is insecure about something. The only little negative thing I have to say is that sometimes I felt like I was reading about 12 year olds, until the romantic stuff happened of course.
Okay also dafür das es so kurz war war es ehrlich ganz schön gut. Also bisschen was war auch komisch trotzdem relatable. Würde das nächste direkt lesen aber ich glaube dass das kostet mal gucken
