Born and raised in the agricultural midwest, I moved every year after school even as far as Shanghai before settling down with my wife in Chicago.

I have always enjoyed Wuxia stories and became thrilled when I discovered harem stories spreading to western books. I've written down my day dreams for years as an idle hobby. Inspired by the harem genre I'm finally fleshing them out into full blown novels.

I'm excited to share my stories with you as I turn them into novels and series.

4.5 stars. This is becoming my favourite of the author's current series, as it's nice to be dealing with mature charcters (for the most part) again. Looks like this one has several more books to go. This is fine as long as the plot keeps moving, so I'm interested to see what's next.

We leave the mafia behind and spend book two at Camp Half-blood. Bran is starting to see how he is changing the past with his actions so far (as he always knows what to do). Overall it was a fun read, and I’m looking forward to next book.

The storytelling is good, but the Harem sex is repetitive and a bit juvenile.

I stay for the story quality and the LitRPG. I just have to skip over the boring porn commercial interruptions. Heh! :-)

Ahhh, I miss the 1970's...we had much better quality porn back then. Kids these days just don't know how to write it anymore...yawn. :-) :-) :-)

A good addition to the series. While this is a harem story that part is more in the background. Meaning that isn't the purpose of telling the story like some others in the genre. This one focuses on the story more. The MC is now going back to his family to awaken his bloodline. It is a fine line he needs to tread. He needs to not really stand out that much so he doesn't become a target but at the same time show enough promise to get noticed and resources. He should have known it wasn't going to be that easy.

Sorry lost Cause

The first book was fantastic. I enjoy the idea of the wandering king going back in time to stop the apocalypse.

However, in this book going to the clan Islands. It was just boring especially because The main character is 500 years old and she should be able to blow away.Anybody in this time frame , no matter If they are Elders or leaders of their clan branch.

I like overpowered characters I like the harem novels and the different women. But I just got tired of the main character.Whining about the women being eighteen or whatever I mean , come on , he went Back and time into the body of a teenager.

This could have been so much better with the story about him and a younger body , but with five hundred years of experience I I mean , this book could have gone as so many different directions and jess brand could have took over The entire clan and everyone should have bowed to him. That's the way the story should have been.

This book did it for me.I won't be reading any more in this series.I do not recommend it at all.

This book (and series) has been a compelling read, which is somewhat odd, as I have an aversion to the OP MC trope. Yet it just works really well, and the author creates a plot that flows from point to point and makes it hard to put down.

Yes, the MC is OP. To the point of absurdity at times. All of his knowledge and skills mean he has an answer for everything that comes his way. And yet he still has struggles. And while the MC has to go to extraordinary lengths to strengthen his body, the author doesn't drag the scenes out.

The harem grows by one, and this one makes good sense. Again, not a big fan of the most beast-like shapes like the gorgon she becomes, but it still works. One harem member is set aside for the entire book outside of quick calls, something the author has a bad habit of doing. Fortunately, that is being resolved by the end of the book, but I still wish it wasn't something they resorted to.

I very much look forward to book 3.

Good dungeon diving story by a master storyteller

The MC visits his clan, the Greek gods legacy where new initiates dive a fettered dungeon, called an instance. There he absorbs the curator, a primordial beasts spirit, which causes the dungeon to start leveling up. He uses this to level himself and a Medusa bloodline girl that he takes under his wing.

The story goes on with demon attacks, interclan politics and body tempering activities, before a final battle. I will say that I enjoyed the first book much more, as it was more a plucky little guy making his way in a harsh world trope. He had to deal with keeping his secrets, getting connected to mobsters that could help him, and making allies of a brothel full of women before defeating some unexpected demon generals. Hopefully the next instalment will return to those roots rather than the greek mythology spinoff, which while good wasnt as engaging to me.

Another great read from Bruce Sentar. In this installment we are introduced to the Heros clan. We get to see the heros that spawned the greek gods and find more about Bran's blood lines. The book takes place entirely away from Vine City, which is good and bad, and we do not really get any idea what is happening there. We also see more about Bran and his mother's backstory and see why his old life ended the way it did.
This book continues to build Bran's development of his power set and explains his blood line benefits. We get to meet Nyx and see how she starts to become a member of Bran's team.
Another fun, quick read with lots of action. We see a major battle with demons and his travel through the mythical labyrinth. Can't wait for the next installment and his return to Vine City and how he begins to prepare for the looming demon invasion.

Bran and Simone make it to the Heros Clan. But things are not as they seem. Now that the future is altered and the clan is not destined for destruction, Bran must alter his plans to just grab resources. Now he must work to incorporate the clan into his designs for humanity to survive the Rapture. Along the way he discovers more about his family and the demon army.

I enjoyed this entry into the series. We get to see how one of the 5 Clans work. A nice counterpoint to the Free Players Alliance. Bran does get his bloodline unlocked. One which requires a Physique to prevent him growing too large.

We do get some Demon conflict as well as another Demon General. One that is a good foil to Bran and his abilities.

It would be nice if the author ended the Dungeon Diving series and started something new. This series (even though I only read one book), and Ard's Oath are so much more enjoyable. I feel the protag is allowed to also do more.

An Assassin learning to dive a dungeon and sleeping with what boils down to aliens of his world (Elves and catgirls) is meh.
I had more enjoyment from book one of Returner's Defiance than I did reading all the books I did so far for the Dungeon Diving 101 Series.

This was fun, but felt less than book one. Book one covered a lot of ground and events, but book two was basically one place on an island.

I dislike that more events from book one weren't followed up on, just brief phone calls.

Will pick up the sequel.

This book is not bad, but it feels abridged in a way.

Interactions and relationships are on a fast track, secrets revealed rather quickly by the MC or a companion, the litrpg elements are more light-litrpg and levels and stats quickly become irrelevant to keep track of, and so on.

Like a cooking show where the chef shows you the ingredients, gives you a quick description of the process, and then pulls the finished product from behind the counter.

I wish more time was given to developing characters more organically, story beats given more time to breath, explore the world building a bit more, take more time in leveling and skill training. Unlikely, but I still wish it.

Note to self: when you see the next book, read when in the mood for dealing with the annoying harem elements.

Great continuation

I am always skeptical of stories that have someone who has lived for hundreds of years then suddenly come back to set things right. Inevitably they act like the age they are instead of what they’re supposed to be with their “experience”. Bruce doesn’t fall into this trap. Bran acts much more mature and experienced, as he should, than an 18 year old and I thoroughly enjoy it. Nothing is worse than someone supposed to be old acting like a stuttering teenage twit.

The continuation of this story was great. The progress kept going smoothly, the fights felt good, and character progression all around was extremely enjoyable.

It's great

I really enjoyed the second book in the series. Further character development. Good battles. Good action. Interesting Powers next was a fun character. Seeing how our snakes from her hair responded to her emotionally, not fully under her control. I like the direction the author's taking the plot. I would talk more about that but I don't want to ruin the book for you, but there weren't any big potholes. There are a couple good twists I'm really looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I apologize for any spelling errors. I'm writing this review with voice to text.

Fun, active, well paced

Can’t wait for the 3rd. Great expansion of the world. Read it in a weekend. Love the depth that is being added to the universe. I hope this series is incredibly long and has spinoffs. Definitely has the potential. Also Bruce has a great way of handling the stats, not drowning you in numbers that cease to have meaning as they grow but giving quick giving context and skipping the long spreadsheets to focus on a key few points that keeps the story going. Huge fan of this. I hope this method spreads to other rpg lit books.

A very good book 2

The story is moving nicely, time between books was more of a problem, trying to remember who the characters were, and what was going on was slightly helped by the “recap’ at the start of the book. I considered rereading book 1, but ended up just continuing the book. The story has good pace with enough action to keep the flow going. Lots of mysteries about his past is revealed and new women enter his life as he works to build himself into the strongest he can be before the Rapture.

Great continuation!

I love every book this author puts out. Like his other series, this has a deep and well written story. The characters and character growth is so well done. The dialogue feels natural and not forced. The romance is also done so so well compared to a lot of books in this genre. On top of all that, this book is even better than the first in the series. I can’t wait for the next!

I still recommend the series

Honestly it's starting to sound like it's only going to be a trilogy. The author sounds as though he's moving pretty slow on this one. Parts of this book felt a little rush and if you were first drawn in by the whole Supernatural mob angle then I've got bad news for you when it comes to this book. The narrators on the first book did a fantastic job and I'm looking forward to their performance when this entry gets the audio treatment.

loved it, story is expanding in a great way

I love most of this author’s stories, but by far this is my favorite and it keeps getting better/deeper. We finally get to the root and wham, gotta wait for the next book. That’s not to say that this was filler, it really added depth to the story and characters, but I wish it was longer (always). Looking forward to the audible and next books, please don’t make me wait long!

The story keeps getting better and better.

I loved the first book and couldn't wait to finally read book two. Once I started it, I just couldn't put it down. The story got better and more intriguing as you read. Characters of myth were brought to reality in a great plot that completed the background story as well as stories of Bran's future. The countdown has started and I can't wait to start reading the next book.

Great and action packed story. The sex scenes felt over the top and rather juvenile, though, as they were male power fantasies. The harem gets another member. Typically, the other women even force this on the protagonist #rofl#.

Unintentionally, the protagonist became way too special for his clan in the book. It was rather unbelievable that he already was almost on par with the strongest members of the clan in the end.

Despite a few ellipses that were a bit too abrupt for my taste, and sometimes the feeling that the writing was a bit sloppy, this second installment is excellent, on par with the first while being quite different.
I think the series has enormous potential; I find it a shame (for once) that the author doesn't want to create a long series. But this may be a strategy to attract readers who are allergic to sagas...
Time will tell.

One Of My Favorite Reads!

Let me start by saying that the author Bruce Sentar couldn’t make a bad book if he tried! The amount of details and creativity of characters in this story has been amazing so far! The introduction to the Helos clan was exhilarating from start with the initiation to end with breaking into Tarturas. Overall, this was a great continuation in the series and I can’t wait for more!

A Good Time.

An enjoyable time, and I look forward to the next one.
Pros: Likable characters, mostly healthy relationships (familial, romantic, friendship, etc.), lots of action, and numerous mysteries.
Cons: Meaningless numbers, low tension violence (the stakes are high, but I never worried about the outcome), unskilled secrecy, and lots of disposable characters.

Flawless

I am a huge fan of Greek mythology, and so I might be biased, but as all Bruce Sentar works, he never fails to captivate or miss a step from books one to two. A very easy ready with compelling storyline and new characters developing that just leave you wanting more. As with all his books, I hope they never end and look forward toward the next installments.

Amazing Book 2!

Love where the story is going. It’s funny how Bran tried to be low key and keep things quiet and everything blows up on him. Definitely makes for a more interesting story but still kind of funny. Love all of the new characters and can’t wait to see them get fleshed out more. Looking forward to where book 3 goes!

Better then the first

Loved this book. The first book was good but I had a hard time liking the MC. He was a little too jaded and all powerful. But with the future fearing from what he remembers and him doing things he never did before he is starting to grow on me. Only reason I read this book was because I love the author and I’m glad I did.

It's a sequel. If nothing else Sentar is incredibly consistent, at least until he's ready to end a series. Lots of fun adventures in this one, including meeting mythical Mediterranean heroes. Read it, it's fun. And the harem stays pretty small so far in this series, with two in the first book, and then two in this book with one of the ones from the first book being off screen for the whole thing.

excellent

Absolutely love this series. The MC is great and so is the stories premise. The girls are unique and I like how they are still engaged throughout the story instead of just a collection. And the action scenes are epic. Keep up the great work

Good story

Really good story. I really liked how the author incorporated Greek mythology into the story. Cannot wait to see the other storylines combine with other myths of the world.
