The internet is an integral part of every person’s life no matter what age you are. It is vital when using it to do so with caution, and we learn the necessary steps we need to take in “Scams, Hacking, and Cybersecurity: The Ultimate Guide to Online Safety and Privacy” by May Brooks-Kempler. The author thoroughly explains how to safely avoid scams and malicious attacks, and even how to safely protect your precious data that hackers can’t wait to get their hands on with malicious intentions. This isn’t just another online security book like others on the market. Instead, it is a valuable tool that every person should have in their arsenal to refer back to from time to time.

Reading this guide provides readers with invaluable tools to protect yourself and your family from malicious hackers who want to wreak havoc in your life while they benefit from your misery. There are many advantages to using the internet, such as the convenience of shopping at home and having groceries or other items sent directly to your door. Or for that college student needing to write a paper for their professor. Another option that’s extremely popular is doing ancestral research for people who want to learn about their family roots. The possibilities are endless, but no matter what your need or desire is to be on the internet, you must be extremely diligent in protecting yourself and your sensitive data.

May Brooks-Kempler is a cyber security professional who has made it her mission to educate the public by giving practical advice that will help keep you and your family safe online while you’re enjoying time surfing the internet. Her goal for writing this book was to supply invaluable information to her readers and arm them with the correct information they’ll need to have fun using the internet, while still being safe doing so.

One point that really stood out while reading this guide was the author’s mention of a valid point that parents teach their children road safety so they can enjoy being safe drivers, so why not equip your child with the appropriate knowledge for being safe while using the internet? This truly resonated with this reviewer and provided food for thought that many readers might not even think of for their children.

Sadly, no one is immune to cyber-attacks, and it doesn’t matter your age, sex, or nationality. Every single person is hugely at risk using the internet and this shouldn’t be lightly thought about. A quote the author provided that really will hit home with readers is:

‘It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently.’ – Warren Buffet

This quote is such a powerful and very true statement that everyone should take a minute to think about it.

Overall, “Scams, Hacking, and Cybersecurity: The Ultimate Guide to Online Safety and Privacy” by May Brooks-Kempler is one book that is a great reference guide for protecting you and your family from malicious hackers wanting to destroy everything you’ve worked hard for. This book is highly recommended!

Good info

Basic, but I've worked with computers since 1971 and am generally the security guru at work. Read and heed, take notes, especially on the graphics and you should be in good shape.
