ALC REVIEW
From the second I finished book 1 - I could not wait to read book 2 - I couldn't wait to continue Alaina and Dax's story, and boy, it packed a punch.
The character development in book 2 was off the charts and was emphasised by the exceptional narration from Andi and Joe.

Alaina faces so much throughout this book. Every time I thought I could breathe, nope, Cj Sweet threw something else at me. Book 2 is an absolute rollercoaster! Only one part played out the way I thought it would. Every chapter left me reeling and questioning what was going to happen next.
Surprises were thrown at every turn, and I ate it up!

The way Andi represented Alaina as she fell apart, then grew into such a strong, determined leader, I loved it. Such versatility in her povs for all the characters she covered - wow!

Joe's representation of Dax was 🤌🏼.
But I cannot deny the secondary POV in this book had chills running through me - our villain in book 2 is already eerie, but Joe's narration took it to another level.

I really don't want to give too much plot away. This book is heavy on plot but we do get that delicious spice, please be mindful of your triggers for this book - the Chapter Summary at 60% was beautifully written and allowed for a more in depth understanding of Alaina's mindset - thank you CJ for including this.

I can't deny I'm sorry to say goodbye to Dax and Alaina - being my first shifter romance in years, but also my first audiobook of the genre, it was great, I highly recommend it.

Please familiarise yourself with the content before you start.

Ugh. This whole series has my heart honestly. I am in love with Dax and Alaina was much more likable this book than the last. Lol because she literally pissed me off last book. The ending to this one was everything and I am so so happy for them. I personally like the pacing of the books. Held my attention and had me wanting to skip work just to read.

Come For Me, part two by CJ Sweet

Format: Audiobook
Narrators: Andi Eloise and Joe Arden
Genre: Paranormal Romance

📖- 6 ⭐️

🌶️- 4+🔥

⚠️ READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS⚠️
Come For Me, part 1 must be read first…

If you haven’t listened to CFM 1, you might not want to read this review. I purposefully give vague reviews to avoid spoilers however there may accidentally be a few in this review.

This book picked up right where part 1 left off… the emotional damage this story caused is insane. I don’t think I’ve ever listened to an audiobook and experienced so many different emotions in such a short time. Once again, Andi and Joe give a phenomenal performance leaving us remembering Alaina and Dax’ journey long after the book ends.

Have you ever found yourself talking to the characters in an audiobook? Like, “What the f•ck are you doing?”Or “OMG, nooo, WHY would you do that?”👉🏼 ME 👈🏼 almost the entire time.

CJ Sweet did a spectacular job weaving these characters into our psyche. At one point, I actually liked the villain in the story... I felt bad for him. He was despicable and a horrible person, but because of the EMOTIONAL DAMAGE of this mind-blowing story, I just couldn’t help myself. Of course my views changed throughout the book, but still. What The Actual F••k?! Alaina had so much character growth in this book, I enjoyed seeing her becoming a Queen and owning the responsibilities… taking charge while her King was away. She was still somewhat of a brat, but we love that about her. Let’s not forget about Sam. He was a character favorite from book 1 and now in book 2, but he too had a major character growth. I look forward to hopefully hearing his story one day 😉

So much happens in this book, I couldn’t possibly describe everything but just know some of these things are beautiful and thrilling and some are tragic and gut-wrenching. The storyline takes a much darker turn in this book and the spice (fans face), it’s even hotter than before so make sure earbuds are fully charged before diving into this one.

Do I recommend? YES! YES! YES!

Must Read Book Series

I can’t properly explain why this book (this series) is so phenomenal. I ended 2024 reading Part 2 and I couldn’t have ended the year on a better book!

CJ Sweet is an evil genius. Her mind intrigues me and scares me all at the same time. Her writing is so FANTASTIC. I felt everything that her characters felt. I think that’s why certain scenes hit me so HARD and I couldn’t help but sob, rage, laugh and love right along with her characters. That in itself should be a testament to her talent.

She pulled us in with part 1. She introduces us to this fantastical world and makes us fall in love with these characters. We become so invested and then she completely f*cking wreaks us in part 2.

Part 2 is going to put you through the wringer. There are heavy topics in this book; such as loss, trauma, and healing. Definitely read the trigger and content warnings.

CJ completely devastated me with this book but then she took me on a journey of healing. I absolutely love this series! Definitely one of my favorite reads of 2024!

Not even Joe Arden’s incredible audio acting could make me finish this book 🙃 between the complete shift in Alaina’s personality from book 1 to the constant forced separations between the hero and heroine, I just couldn’t with this book. There wasn’t a strong enough emotional foundation in part 1 to make book 2’s romance believable. There wasn’t a deep enough connection to the side characters to mourn figures like Caleb’s dad.

Alaina is just as frustrating in book 2 as book 1 but now she’s a ✨queen✨. Shes got these moments of self awareness that make you want to like her, but without the depth, consistency, or connection to the reader to actually make her likable. The OW drama comes back to bite Dax and Alaina, and I just can’t with this new stalker who we didn’t even get breadcrumbs for in book 1.

TLDR;
I tried it, but life’s too short to read books that aren’t enjoyable.

I’m reviewing both books together because I read them back-to-back in a single day—they had me in an absolute chokehold.

Book one ends on such a cliffhanger that I immediately abandoned all adult responsibilities to find out what happened next. The spice? Top-tier. The drama? Delicious. But what really stood out was the depth of emotion—C.J. Sweet made me feel every bit of it, like I was right there with the characters.

I also really appreciated the thoughtful portrayal of mental health and the importance of therapy. It was woven in so naturally and added so much depth to the story. And let’s not skip over the brilliant three-page “menu” at the beginning of each book—it was clever, helpful, and set the tone for what was to come.

If you like your romance hot, dramatic, and emotionally rich, do yourself a favor and pick these up. Just clear your schedule—you won’t want to stop.

Infinity-fcking-stars!⭐️ Helloo?! The plot? OMFG😫 I genuinely thought Colin was just another misunderstood villain given his backstory. I was so relieved when I read Dax's POV again after his nth death😭😭 Seriously, give my man a break😭😭 I lost count of how many times I cried because of him.

And Alaina? I came to love her – she's such a strong queen😭 But what happened to my Caleb? Why did he go radio silent and disappear? My baby is grieving..? I really wish I could hug him🥺 I desperately need his own book now, please😭

I have enjoyed this story. It was an easy, fun little read, which was just what I needed. There is no massive world building, not too many characters. I followed along whilst listening to the audio, and I definitely recommend doing it this way.

There is a lot of praise in this, so if you are into that, you should have a good time.

There is no heavy plot, so it's a nice paced light read.

⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ ALC review!!

ℂ𝕠𝕞𝕖 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕞𝕖 ( 𝕓𝕠𝕠𝕜 𝟚 ) by @cjsweet.author

Well shit.. what a rollercoaster of emotions this turned out to be! After I finished listening to book 1 I NEEDED this audio and it was everything 🥹

Alaina doesn't get it easy in this book, her character development from book 1 to book 2 was fierce! She showed courage and bravery even in her darkest moments. she protected those she loved with an iron fist even when she was hollow inside. @andieloisevoice gave an amazing performance! You felt everything Alaina did all because andie gave her a voice. The emotional journey Alaina endured was heartbreaking!, her spirit might have been crushed but she held on throughout!.

The villain in this story gave me chills! @therealjoearden has many talents and one of them is making villains creepy asf! 😂 His narration was 🤌🏻. The laugh though (shivers) 👀. Every time I heard THAT laugh my skin crawled 😂

Dax oh how I love this alpha male! @therealjoearden made me bubble with a certain scene! (Don't worry no spoiler) BUT when you listen to it you'll understand why!!. Dax's character development might not seem much to everyone but he made huge progress!! This fierce alpha male who installs fear into everyone else, gladly kneels for his queen. His devotion to Alaina is otherworldly 🥺🥹 his need to protect and love her is with his whole being! He breathes for Alaina.

The twists in this kept me wanting to listen for longer! @cjsweet.author definitely knew what she was doing, I'll admit I cursed her at one point but we won't get into that 😂 I can't believe Dax & Alain's story is finished.. I hope we get to see them in future stories!

I continued the series with the audiobook, and there were a few things that didn't sit well with me.

While book 1 was a fun, spicy good time... this book aimed to have a more complex plot that ended up making no sense at all.

Dax dies, for real this time, but then comes back to life because, surprise, surprise, Alaina is a Vampire by birth - she just needs to die to kick in the transition. And being mated to her is what allowed Dax to come back to life... no sense at all. Also, Dax is portrayed as this badass Alpha, yet his dying a couple of times kind of proves a different point.

Somewhere along the audiobook, there is a brief notice before a chapter where SA/non-con relations happen, warning us of this so that readers who may be triggered can skip and move to the next chapter. The actual SA scene was super downplayed, like Colleen Hoover style. I was expecting something far, far worse, but it never happened.

I know the author is a therapist, but there was a whole chapter where our MCs go to couples therapy in some magical realm where 2 hours in real life equal 20 sessions in that realm. Alaina is magically and insta-trauma fixed, so she continues to bang Dax like nothing happened. More proof of SA being downplayed.

While Joe Arden got the memo and was able to play different situations and characters with different voices, etc. Andi Eloise did not. She sounded the same throughout the whole book, even at moments where Alaina was clearly conflicted, same tone.

I really wanted to finish, but at this point, I feel the book is all over the place.

3.5⭐️ | 🎧 Audiobook Version

Wow… I was not ready for this one 😵‍💫😂 Once again, I went with the audio version and couldn’t stop listening again Joe Arden & Andi Eloise were 🤌🏻! This book picks up right where the massive cliffhanger from Book One left off—and let me tell you, it’s a roller coaster from there. So. Many. Twists. I truly did not see them coming.

We finally get to see Alaina grow into herself (thank goodness, because that back-and-forth in Book One was testing my patience 😅). She really steps into a powerful, alpha-female role, and that development was super refreshing to witness.

Dax, my sweet chaotic king. This man has been through it! We see a more intimate side of him in this one, which somehow makes his unhinged, morally grey bad boy energy even hotter 🔥

The plot? A twisty, wild ride. My head was spinning, but in the best way. Overall, it was a super entertaining and engaging listen.

⚠️ Trigger warning: There are some heavy themes in this book. I really appreciated how C.J. Sweet handled them—she included a chapter summary so listeners can skip the content of they’re not comfortable with it. Total respect for that.

And the spice?
The. Spice. In. This. Book. 😳
Dark, intense, and will absolutely make you sweat! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

What a rollercoaster

I just finished Come for me Part 2 by CJ Sweet and I've just been blown away by this book. It picks up right at the huge cliffhanger and becomes an emotional rollercoaster after that. And the way she uses her knowledge to share the hardships of trauma and mental health is phenomenal and something you don't see often in books! 🙌🏻

Then there are the performances by Andi Eloise and Joe Arden. They both killed it! This series introduced me to Andi but she is quickly becoming a favorite. Her performance on this series has made me a fan of hers! and Joe's performance as Colin... I've never hated a character so much but at times, Joe's performance made you kinda feel sorry for the guy (but not really). 🤣🤣

This book was produced by Bluenose Audio with a quality only they can achieve!

If you haven't listened to this series yet, then run! Go add it to your list!! But please check triggers before hand!!

Noteworthy: This is book 2 in the duet even though it has the same title as book one. It may be confusing. Heaving TWs in this one.

Part 2 of this duet was crammed with action. A lot happened in this book. We had a bit of a switch in this one where the FMC Alaina became the complex character with the focus being more on her. She changed a lot from where she started in book 1 and definitely matches the MMC Dax's energy better. Excellent growth, even if it was to the dark side.

The plot still had some flow issues, and the grammar was an issue at times. Mostly incorrect words and sentence structures. The story was strong enough to keep me engaged in spite of these problems.

I will be reading the next is the series that appears to be following new characters.

After finishing book 1, I could not wait to start this one and was so excited for this audio!! It is full of so many twists and I absolutely devoured it! It was an emotional ride though and I shed a lot of tears while reading. Without spoiling anything, this book is literally everything I didn’t know I needed and I am LOVING this series. I already cannot wait for the next book!

The audio for this is absolutely amazing!! Performed in duet by Andi Eloise and Joe Arden and it is so FREAKING good! I could not stop listening because they just brought every aspect of the story to life so perfectly!

Part 2 Review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My gosh—when I say plot twist, I mean all the plot twists. This book had me on a rollercoaster from start to finish. I cried, I raged, I was shocked, I laughed—it gave me every single emotion and then some.

After reading Part One, I knew this series was going to be good, but Part Two blew my expectations out of the water. The stakes are higher, the emotions run deeper, and the twists keep hitting when you least expect them. I couldn’t stop turning the pages because I had to know what happened next.

If you love a story that keeps you guessing while completely ripping your heart out and piecing it back together again, this installment is everything. CJ really knows how to raise the bar with every chapter.

What a fantastic sequel! After the brutal cliffhanger in Book 1 I was ready to go back to this world and find out what happened. Please make sure to check out triggers/content warnings before reading. I loved that the story picks off right where we left off. There's the unknown that Alaina must faced. This was much darker, twisted and action packed. I suspected some of the twists, but was still surprised. I loved how everything played out in the end. Despite the journey being difficult there was still light at the end of the tunnel.

As for the audiobook narration, it's amazing! Performed in duet by Andi Eloise and Joe Arden. They both gave a compelling performance. Andi really gave Alaina a fiercer attitude that exuded Alaina's will to survive. Joe does unhinged characters so well and his performance in this was so dark and hauntingly eerie. You don't want to miss out on their performances. Highly recommend! This is part of a series and must be read in order!

this was SO GOOD!!!! I was on edge the entire time and that’s one of the things that really sends a book to the “five star” level for me. I don’t want to wait for book 3, I need it asap👏🏼 the character growth was done so well & the plot in this second book felt so much more mature, it really was the perfect mix of dark/fantasy/romance 🖤 can’t wait to see where Dax & Alaina’s story goes in book 3 & what happens with their family!

also - TAYA AND SAM?! how did I not see that coming, I love that pairing 🤌🏼😮‍💨

Let me start off by saying I really think the supernatural stuff just isn’t for me. That’s totally a me problem. I read the first book in this series and felt like it was all 99% smut that ended with the story really just getting started on a cliffhanger so I continued on to book 2. I would not have started book 2 if it weren’t for the cliffhanger because I already knew this genre wasn’t my cup of tea halfway through book 1. With that being said, book 2 was way more storyline than smut and I appreciated that - even if I didn’t always appreciate the story. 😅

“This book took me on a full emotional bender—happy, devastated, furious, hopeful, sobbing, feral, scared, sobbing again… and somehow still clinging to joy by the end.”

Come For Me, Part Two was a roller coaster with no seatbelt and vibes set to “emotional damage.”

I didn’t see that plot twist coming. I felt it crash through my ribcage and set up camp in my trauma. C.J. Sweet absolutely nailed the art of keeping you on the knife’s edge—bleeding, breathless, and begging for a soft landing that may or may not come.

At one point I was sobbing so hard I had to put the book down and ask myself if I was okay (spoiler: I wasn’t). But that’s the thing—this book gets it. The emotional depth. The pain. The messy, layered honesty of grief and healing and survival.

💥 The mental health themes? So real, so raw, so beautifully handled.
👏 And can we TALK about the trigger warnings?! Not just at the beginning—but an extra warning mid-book before a particularly intense chapter plus a summary at the end for those who needed to skip. That’s how you respect your readers.

More authors, take notes: THIS is how you do it. Loud, clear, compassionate.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 —
✅ Plot twist that wrecked me
✅ MMC still giving dark, dangerous, “I’d burn down the world for you” energy
✅ Real tears. Real trauma. Real healing.
✅ Jo Arden, again, deserves an award for his performance if you audiobooked this um also am I now in love with Andi Eloise as a narrator? I think I have a girl crush
❌ Half star off because I am emotionally ruined and will never recover

Trigger warnings matter. Mental health stories matter.
And this book? Delivered both with claws and care.

No regrets. Just tissues. And therapy.

*Disclaimer* I did skip the graphic chapter because it felt right to me (I have very minimal triggers but for me this choice felt right.) After listening to the summary I dont feel I missed anything. This story was a roller coaster with some twists I saw coming, others I hoped for, and some I didn't see. I love how truly unhinged Dax and Alaina are. I cackled when Alaina delivered the final punishment.

This picked up right where part 1 ended. I liked this one better than part 2! It had me guessing. What a roller-coaster ride of emotions. I hope we get Sam's story. Love him. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us. More heartbreak and therapy bills, I'm sure.
Andi and Joe are phenomenal together. They represented these characters perfectly.
