Unlikely Amish Christmas #6

Unlikely Suitor: An Amish Christmas Story

Rate this book
The exciting final book in the Unlikely Amish Christmas series! It all started when a five-year-old boy mistook an Amish man for Santa Claus...

Jaycee Parker has always been seen as the little brother or the one who believed in a real Santa Claus a.k.a. Dawdi Christopher.
Now “Jace”—at his insistence—wants to be viewed as a man, but he’s not quite sure how to make that happen.
That is, until he meets a pretty woman from the hospital where he volunteers. Lauren has him pondering things he’s never thought of before—like a love relationship and someday settling down with a family of his own.
Lauren hopes volunteering at the hospital will help heal her own troubled past. For the last few years, she has wanted to find the kind Amish couple who found her when she was at her worst and saved her life.
When she meets Jace Parker, she immediately recognizes something different about him. He’s not like other men she’s known but genuinely seems to have a pure heart—something rare if not nonexistent in her world. Even better, he makes her smile.
When Jace and Lauren become close, they realize they might have a lot more in common than either of them expected.
As Christmas draws near, memories are made and hearts unite. But can the greatest miracle of all—Love—bind them together forever?

My review of “Unlikely Suitor”

“But he did know. Because he remembered the time when he was five years old and without much hope. And then he'd met Santa, and his world had changed forever. But the true hero in the story was God, who had orchestrated all of it.” Jennifer Spredemann writes about Jayce, the main protagonist in her latest book, “Unlikely Suitor”. Just out of high school, Jaycee truly lives his faith. He’s genuine, compassionate, and authentic—just the man you wish you could marry, wish you could raise, or wish your daughter or granddaughter would marry.

Life is messy for us, and for this family. Hope, faith, and the importance of family—both biological and adopted are key themes. They play against the backdrops of loss, grief, marriage, and Amish food, in a multicultural community and family. The story tugged at my heartstrings as I spent the day reading. Jennifer is among my favorite authors for engaging stories and series depicting both Englishers and the Amish.

Rich character development, inevitable ups and downs of life, sweet Christmas memories, and vibrant messages of the free gift of salvation mark Jennifer Spredemann’s Amish Christmas books. “Unlikely Suitor” is no different.

This 6th book in the Amish Christmas Story “Unlikely” series follows “Unlikely Santa”, “Unlikely Sweethearts”,“Unlikely Season”, “Unlikely Singing” and “Unlikely Sacrifice”. “Unlikely Suitor” is a stand alone story, with the series bringing every character to life. As with all of Jennifer Spredemann’s books, I highly recommend “Unlikely Suitor”.

“Unlikely Suitor” was provided to me prior to this book’s release date. This review contains my own reflections and honest opinions.

My review of Unlikely Suitor book 6 in An Amish Christmas Story ( Unlikely Amish Christmas) by Jennifer Spredemann

First let me say you can read this as a stand alone however I highly suggest you read the entitle series starting with book 1 which is Unlikely Santa, book 2 is Unlikely Sweethearts, book 3 is Unlikely Singing, book 4 is Unlikely Season, Book 5 is Unlikely Sacrifice.
You will get to know the characters as well as so much back story.
It was such a wonderful story of just how one act of kindness years before can set the tone for one’s life, how a special relationship will fulfill you in ways you could never imagine.
Jaycee Parker is a character that will pull you in hold your attention and make you believe that all is possible and remarkable in both the eyes of a child where innocent can pave the road to a wonderful life, and as an adult where that life can prove to be a bridge for others to have that same life.
Lauren Pennington’s story will pull at your heartstrings, her past has not been an easy road and yet she remains a bright light with a love just waiting to give freely.
Can her story have the happy ending she so very much desires? Can Jaycee and Lauren prove that our past story doesn’t dictate our future, and we can have a meaningful faithful life.
This was such a wonderful story and I know you all will not only love it but will come away with a new sense of wonderment just as we all had as a child looking up into the eyes of our Unlikely Santa.
I was gifted a pre copy of the book but in no way asked to give a review and I am so blessed to be able to recommend not only this book but the entire series. As always Happy Reading!

UNLIKELY SUITOR is The exciting sixth title in the Unlikely Amish Christmas series by Jennifer Spredemann.

Jaycee Parker Has been the little brother who believed Dawdi Christopher was Santa. Well he is now grown up and has met the girl of his dreams, Lauren. Seems like this is the first time Jace has entertained the idea that he too wanted to have a home, wife and children some day. It is very special how he and Lauren grow as their love grows.

Each of Ms. Spredemann’s characters are delightfully realistic, and we are able to revisit some of our favorites from previous books in this series, such as Sammy. We watch as each characters grows and they becomes and intricate part of the story. She writes in such a way that the story moves quickly, but there is enough information kept out of the reader’s reach so that the events of the next page-turn can not be predicted.

Ms. Spredemann has Such a wonderful way to share the plan of salvation while making it an important part of the story. It is always a special addition to the story.

This 5-star book is a must read this holiday.

I was given an ARC by the author, but was not ask for or required to give a positive review. All opinions are my own.

This was a sweet story around Jaycee Parker, all grown up. This was a sweet and realistic story. Things that happen in real life. The story tells of Jaycee and his meeting Lauren. Jaycee is all a young woman could want. He and Lauren have had lives that were not always easy. As Jaycee shares his faith with Lauren, it is clear that God has His hand in their new paths in life. The search for Lauren's family reminds me so much of my search for my mother's family.
His sister and her boyfriend are a sub-plot, with their story as well. It is a fast moving story of love, forgiveness and family unity. But life happens and things aren't always perfect.

I love how the characters from the previous Unlikely books still come into play and add richness to the story. This book has a real engaging plot that you can't put down. I highly recommend this book and all the previous ones! I have loved them all!

I received an ARC of this book for which I am most grateful. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I adored this endearing and heartwarming 5 star read. I have loved every single book in this series and feel like I am visiting friends each time I open a book in this series. Jennifer's writing is always wonderful and she manages to make us feel part of the story. The conversations are written as if they are really happening and I often feel like interjecting and realize I am talking to my tablet. I especially like that this series returns us to characters we have previously met and introduces us to new ones. This particular book told us Jaycee's story. It was fun reading it and remember as the 5 year old little boy we first met many books in the series ago. All grown up and with such fabulous giving heart and with so much faith to share Jaycee was a truly awesome protagonist. Since Jennifer explains her characters so well this could be read without reading prior books in the series but I would recommend having a binge read and reading them all succession. You won't be sorry. Each one is better than the last.

This final book in the Unlikely Amish Christmas Book Series is another excellent Jennifer Spredemann story. Although the series is in the Amish grouping, the Amish people are only a small part of this episode. It is about Jaycee, all grown up and his family. That cute little 5 year old, who I believe stole everyone's heart if they read Unlikely Santa, the first book, has become a very caring, reliable, young Christian man. It is a strong conclusion to this series. It can be a stand alone book, but I think it is better if the first 5 books are read first. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes to read something that has a good Christian message. I received this as an ARC and this is my honest opinion. Thank you Jennifer Spredemann for this opportunity. I also recommend all of her books, and if you have teenage girls there are some for them, too.

What a wonderful story. This is part of the Unlikely series, which i have read. Jaycee was ln Unlikely Santa, and I fell in love with this character as a young boy. Now he is all grown up and so wise.
He meets Lauren, who has had a very hard life, much like Jaycee. She has a story of her own really. But I loved how God helped these two young people find each other and to find God for Lauren.. this book can stand alone, but I would suggest reading Unlikely Santa, so.you know the characters better.
I was given an ARC copy but not required to leave a positive review.. be sure to read this.. but have tissues ready at the end..

Excellent book!

This book is the perfect ending to a story that started out with Jaycee mistaking an Amish man for Santa. God's grace and mercy overflows in all areas of life, and even when we think we are all alone, God is weaving the tapestry of our lives in the background in ways that we could never imagine.

Jaycee and Lauren's story will have a special place in my heart. I loved their story and the family dynamics. Although there is a little uproar which leads to leaning on God and having faith. It is nice to see prior characters from other books and you have a hit in this book. Story flows amazingly and you will love each character. Some humor is mixed in.

Thank you for allowing me to read a review an ARC copy of this book prior to release. I am under no obligation to give a positive review.

My love for this series has no words. Jennifer Spredemann writes with characters who maintain a place in your heart. Ms. Spredemann always lets Jesus take the wheel and delivers a story with lots of Faith, Belief, and Family love. This is a great stand alone story but it is definitely a perfect addition to this series. (Team Wesley). Thank you for wonderful reading Ms Spredemann you never let readers (me) down.

the best book ever

This book has love, happiness, the loss of the family you read in the first book to finding a new family. Then in this book Jace finds the woman he knew would be his wife, she also lost her mom at 8 years old, lived in an orphanage and never got adopted. She tried to comment jumping off a bridge to end her life but an Amish family stopped her.
You just need to read it and find out how she learned that Our God is an Awesome God.
