I did enjoy this one. I mean we got a guy who's tired of feeling like he's not enough, or worth anything; and he's trying his best to make his dream, his career, come to life by being on a professional hockey team. It's all that drives him. Aiden's determined. He's got baggage, hurts, that he carries as he struggles to stand on his own. His Dad is a real piece of work. He wants to belong somewhere. Aiden is immature at times. He's playing the game most dudes play. But his best friend Jax, a bear of a man, he's a goalie, is going to help him get on a team with a place to live. The thing is, Jax's sister, Aurora, will also be Aiden's roommate. That's fine, but these two have a past history. Dun. Dun. Dunnnn!!🫢🤫 Drama, heat, with a big chunk of secrets.

Aurora. She has now become the social media manager of the Canyon Bay Cyclones. These 3 will be around one another 24/7. It's a lot. Look, there are moments that Aurora got on nerves.😖🤣 There seemed to be a lack of certainty with her. She's 24 and not all 24yr olds act like this, I know, but she's... you know, wishy-washy. I don't know what I want, help me figure this out, why this why that. She needs to be saved. I'm going out with a guy who looks like my ex. That was odd. She's a bit of a hot mess ngl.🤭 Stop keeping secrets, girl. Even from her best friend Kat. What does that tell you? Her start was not fully developed for me. She was assertive but then, it would vanish. No one knows you like you do, Aurora. Either you understand yourself or you don't. Especially since she had an ex that did the things he did. She never spoke on it and it's supposed to be her issues in the story. That didn't make much sense to me. Jax mentioned it once but it didn't really go anywhere. Aurora's not dealing with things. And why was she only in a towel in the beginning when Aiden came over?🫣 I mean, Jax was there too. Yes, you were in the shower. Buuuutt, you don't stand there while.... having a conversation. Geez. Big brother didn't even freak out. lol Jax shouldn't have been so surprised later on that they would get involved with each other, right? That was awkward. No amount of cleaning will fix that couch sir.🛋️🧼🧽😆😆

There's a lot on the line with these two. B/c secrets will be revealed. Hurtful ones. Sad ones. Jax dealing. How will they each handle things when the poo hits the fan? You've got to read it for yourself. To me, Aiden the storm cloud, did grow and develop into a reliable man. He was honest and put his heart out there even though he wanted to run. I won't tell you what happens there. hehe Aurora, halfway through, grew up as well. That's when the story kicked for me. She became saucy, even dirty minded.🙃 Role reversal. I wanted to see that side of her sooner. I did appreciate her defending herself at one point against her ex. Finally!! But she still didn't get it till the very end. Denial. Denial. Whyyy, princess?!! Whyyy?? There's plenty of spice and steam to be read here if you like it naughty.🥵🔥🥵🔥 Question: Why did these two go and do the thing they got the clear sign from without... precautions?!🙊🤦🏼‍♀️ Noooo. Let's have those discussions first kids. Chop chop.😏😂😂

Finally, the author found a guy for the cover who filled the bill of the character. Aiden had to look like a guy who had at least been working his @$$ off hard to be noticed by the NHL and still trying to garner his father's love and approval. Who by the way was for sure a piece of work and up for the worst father of the year award. Find out what comes of the friendship when the two best friends are like icebergs and come to blows at practice. When Aurora’s brother finds out about her and Aiden seeing each other and how it affects the game and the team as a whole.

Although, Jax and Aurora’s parents were hitting an all-new low. As worst parents because stop and think about it how did Ben know where to find her? And then Turner knows where she lived. Both after Jax had already had it out with them. Sounds fishy to me.

Even taking into consideration the background he was raised in, Aiden said some extremely hurtful things things that can’t be unheard. However, when asked by Jax point-blank how she felt about Aiden, even knowing his background and how he had grown up she seemed to have twisted that conversation all around. She had shut him down. Simply walking away.

Can any of them survive this at all? Does the friendship survive? Does it affect the team too badly? Read and see.

Steamy romance on and off the ice

This is a great friends to lovers romance with great chemistry between the characters, humor, banter, brother's best friend & roommates, love and a great HEA.

Aiden's determined to get into the ice hockey major league and can't believe his luck when his best friend Jaz calls to say he's got them both onto a new team. When he arrives in the small town Jaz even offers that he can stay with him but when he sees that Jaz's sister is also living there he knows things are going to get interesting.

Aurora has ended her engagement and has been starting a new life living with her brother and becoming the social media manager for his new hockey team. She's surprised when he brings Aiden home but she's always got on with Aiden, just a little too well at one point, and she's not sure if she can hide her feelings with her brother not knowing about them.

They've both got people in their pasts (Aiden's dad and Aurora's ex) that they want to leave behind and living together they start to lean on and support each other. But they've got history and secrets that Jaz doesn't know about and feelings are soon revived the more time they spend together. But can they make living together, with Jaz, work?.

Aurora was done with her boyfriend and ended things then she moved to where her brother lived. Her brother is a team member to a new team that just came together for professional hockey. Also living with him is his best friend Aiden. Aiden was Aurora's prom date when her then boyfriend bailed on her. Aiden also was the first man she had been with and now they had to share her brother's place with him. Aiden wants to be out of the minors of hockey, so he came up after his friend told him about the new team. Everything was going smoothly until Aurora's ex shows up causing her problems. Aiden steps in to help get rid of him and its not long after they rekindle things between them. What will her brother do once he learns they're together? Can they finally get their happy ending?

This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter on. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Very good full novel with the brother best friend- history topic that I love to read. It was hard to put it down it was very attention grabbing from the start.

Brother, Jax, his best friend since school and fellow hockey player, Aiden. They are thick as thieves and Jax got Aiden on a new Florida major hockey team from his old minor league team. Jax also got his sister, Aurora, a job for the team for their social media. Jax didn't know Aiden and Aurora's history.

Aurora is recently single from getting away from toxicity of an ex-fiancé.
Aiden has been living with a toxic relationship from his mentally abusive father.
Both have secretly thought about the other since his prom when Aurora gave Aiden her v-card, but now all three are living under the same roof and who will be breaking first, Aiden or Aurora????.

I absolutely adore both Aiden and Aurora, I thought their story to be entertaining/enjoyable to read, and the characters themselves are interesting/intriguing. Picking Off-Sides With My Brother’s Best Friend is well-written and well-balanced in the romance. I couldn’t get enough of Aiden and Aurora’s story and I’m thrilled to know that these two characters have a happily ever after. I would most certainly suggest this amazing book to anyone to read it. OMG this book cover was INTRIGUE!!! It was a steamy page turner and the suspense was intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn't even put it down literally. It was addicted. Aurora and Aiden meet the sparks were ignites between them and it was spicy hotness. The chemistry between them were sexual tension and the physical attraction were intimate. Was love in the air for them. They couldn't fight the temptation any longer and the one night with him will change her life forever. It has many twists and turns as it was and hockey romance and it was and action packed of drama and emotions of pain and maybe heartache and surprising moment that was mind blowing events.

What I liked- I enjoyed this story. Aiden and Aurora have a secret past history, and that was fun. Aiden has baggage and it was nice to see him shed some of that when Aurora made him so happy. And I love the Brother’s Best Friend trope. The book also passes the Bechdel test. It’s always good to see strong friendships between women in fiction.

Aurora and Aiden

Aiden, has been playing minor league hockey when his best friend gets him a try out for the major leagues. When he accepts Jax’s help he doesn’t realize it means moving in with Jax’s little sister and his past hookup Aurora.
Aurora, coming out of a bad relationship and now her brothers teams social media manager is back in orbit of Aiden, whom she lost her virginity to years ago.
Cute story was ok, progressed well and decent spice. The editing drove me crazy.. the quotation marks were not always accurate and caused re read of many lines. Also the relationship was a little wishy washy and no one seemed to want to take the first step. They have a pregnancy scare but then have unprotected sex🙄….. Did have a good epilogue.

Been a while since I’ve indulged in some hockey romance and this was just the book to get me hooked again !

The story between Aiden and Aurora is addicting. You want them to work out and have everything they want even if she is he’s best friends little sister and who also may of cashed in her v card to him at senior prom !!
The angst, the tension, the love these two have is so cute so when it all comes out you may want to punch Jax in the face for being a A hole about it

The HEA is one to remember !

The spice is spicing in this one too ! Who wouldn’t want a broody handsome hockey player taking them on the sofa or the kitchen or the bedroom ?!

Fun dynamics, decently developed characters, fast read, decent spice.

I did find some of it to be repetitive and a lot of the drama could have been avoided with some simple adult communication which is frustrating to read. I personally don't see this as an enemies to lovers trope, more of a second chance thing. The ending felt really rushed. I also had the sense that the author didn't have a great grasp on the details of both hockey and being a social media manager. Hockey romances are definitely on the rise and you can tell authors that have a genuine interest in the sport and those that are perhaps just hopping on the hype train.

Wowsa this book is so good it will definitely have you hooked from the beginning until the end and the storyline flows perfectly throughout the book. Aidens life is hockey and trying to get into the majors but being stuck in the minors until his friend helps get a tryout with new team but when he meets Aurora will it end up destroying his friendship with his buddy Jax when he finds out it's jaxs sister? This book was so good and will definitely have you cheering for them but will he pick hockey over hid true feelings for her or can he have it all?.

This is Book 1 in the Canyon Bay Heat Series by this author. It is an off limits, second chance romance between Aurora and her brother's best friend, Aiden. These two flawed but likeable souls and the unique plot make for an enjoyable read. Once they reconnect, it is a bumpy ride with drama and steam, humor and charm, sexual tension and chemistry, twists and turns, plus appealing secondary characters to keep the reader interested. Seriously entertaining.

This is the first time I am reading this author. I was intrigued by the blurb and decided to give it a shot. I am so glad I did. There were definitely a couple of tear jerker moments. Well written story and well developed characters. Her brother and his best friend, both played hockey and had tried for years to get on the same team. Now it was happening. She was the media coordinator for the team and was living with her brother. Her brother decided to let his best friend live with them, too. Let the excitement begin, because, of course she is off limits to all the hockey players.

When Aurora and Aiden find themselves as roommates, the spark between ignites once more. He is trying to prove himself, and she is starting over. Together, they are magnetic and unstoppable once they can move past their emotional barriers. The plot was lighthearted with a bit of seriousness, and the characters were complex and well written. Great story!

Aiden ‘s best friend is Jax. Jax’s sister is Aurora. Aurora and Jax had sex on her prom night. Then that was it, never to be spoken about again. But now Aiden is living with them both. amazing story

I loved the banter between the characters and the ups and downs had my emotions everywhere. The overall story was fantastic. There were a few parts I got confused on, story line wise but other than that this was a great read! definitely recommend!
