About the author

Tony McManus was a Scottish writer, musician, translator and activist. He taught English at Deans Community High School and Queensferry High School and campaigned on the quality of Scottish education. He was the leading authority in the English language on the work of Kenneth White, the head of the Scottish Centre for Geopoetics, and the founder and chair of the Scottish Association of Teachers of Language and Literature.
