Shifters, Inc. #3

Pixie The Lion Tamer

Rate this book
Pixie Montana is a reformed (mostly) thief and a hustler. Dominick is the sexy lion shifter who’s been voted “most likely to bite Pixie’s head off – literally”. And the two of them are Shifters, Inc.’s, only hope. A mysterious intruder has infected the staff of Shifters, Inc. with a deadly plague, and his price for the cure is a mysterious jewel known as The Bloodstone – a jewel that’s impossible to steal, because it kills all those who touch it. If Pixie doesn’t return with the jewel in 3 days, every one of her friends will die. Pixie and Dominick must set aside their differences and battle their strange, growing attraction to each other, or demons from both of their pasts will derail their mission and put all of their lives at risk.

Georgette St. Clair writes hot, sexy romances starring Alpha heroes. The road to love may be rocky and fraught with peril (and humor and scorchtastic sex and healthy heapings of snark), but her shifters will stop at nothing to claim the women they love.

Georgette has worn many hats in life: newspaper reporter, EMT, internet marketer, cocktail waitress, temp, nurse’s aide (not in chronological order).

When she’s not rescuing fur-babies, she spends her days in a fantasy universe where she nudges her smart-mouthed, take-no-gruff heroines onto paths which will set them on a collision course with true love.

On the fence here, I loved loved this book I really did and I was SOSOSOSOSO excited to read Pixie's book but there were a few issues in this book - writing things like just grammar not even grammar just uughhhh im bad at explaining but okay here it is: spoilers from book one and two i am certain - now Jax and Bobbi are married? We totally just skipped and i get that in a writers head that characters are constantly moving forward with their lives we don't see. Anyways sorry about that little ness, it was just a few tiny tiny tiny things like that, that pulled me out of the book, and of course I wanted more. but that isn't why i would ever knock a book down.

Song Choice: "I Know You Care" by Ellie Goulding

First Thoughts: EEEE I was very excited about getting to read Pixie's book and i can honestly say i wasn't disappointed She quickly became one of my favorite characters in book two (which is the book i started with because im weird. i thought it was possible to read these out of order, which in part it was, and sort of not) anyways Pixie is just such an intriguing character in general but she is such a spitefire and i am getting ahead of myself. Alright sorry I loved the again the adventure, the characters overall awesome-ness right here.

Thoughts on Plot: I loved the story for Pixie and Dominick. it was again filled with twist and turns that i didn't really see coming, some i did, but it was interesting and kept me waiting to go until i finished it completely. Curse you Georgette For keeping my prisoner to your books because even as I write this review i want to read the first book and the next one! alright anyways I really loved the movement of this book, the pace and the over all just awesome-ness that is Pixie right? Okay so know that we have established i have an obsession over this character. There was a lot of action in this book, the pace was fast, exciting and over amazing.

Characters:

Pixie: I was just over ecstatic with finding her book was next i was just trying to get here so i could read it. Honestly i wish her book lasted longer but it was okay because it was also totally awesome. She is a really cool character and i just really enjoyed the story i couldn't read it fast enough. I know it was a short book to begin with but it was still such a fast read.

Dominick: He was interesting i honestly felt a little more disconencted to him than i did with Pixie because she had shown up in the book beforehand more than him so i felt like I already knew her. Dom i didn't know him as well i wondered if i read the first book first that i would have had more of a connection with him. i didn't hate him i just wished there was more of him. he was protective and sexy that is for sure but i felt like it was implied we should have known more about him.

Oh I knew this was coming for a long time coming, "she glanced over Dominick, who'd gone back to human form but was glaring at Fraser with murder in his eyes. "And he is not my lover boy." Dominick that boy is just not sensitive when it comes to Pixie, "you better be," he growled. "If you cry, I'm going to have to smack you around some, and you might like it too much." But at the same time the boy can be needy especially after doing the naughty, "Dominick rolled on his side and pulled her up against him, wrapping his arms around her. She pressed into his warmth, and strength, for a brief moment, wanting to stay there forever, and then started to pull away. He pulled her back, his arms tightening. "Don't leave me," he growled into her ear." And he's protective of his woman, "Dominick let out a warning growl, and fur ripped on his face. "Touch her, and you will die," he snarled, moving in front of Ion." I think these books keep getting shorter and that really upsets me because I love this damn series.

I do like the shifters inc series and I love pixie's character so it was great to see this book focus's on her story.

The staff at shifters inc are all infected with a deadly virus and it falls on Pixie and Dominic the lion shifter, who usually spends most of the time trying unsuccessfully not to lose his temper at pixie, to try and save their friends.
The person responsible for the attack needs Pixie's skills but can Pixie and Dominic work together alone without killing each other ?

This is a fast paced roller coaster of action and intrigue with some secrets reveal about Pixie's past .
A great entertaining read

Another Great Shifter Romance

Just what I needed to bury the blues of a bad work day. I have been waiting for Pixie and Dominicks story. The two with a new cast of supporting shifters have to work together to save there fellow shifter Inc members. Cue the laughs, romance and surprises.
Pixie and Dominick are fated mates but Dominick was not aware because of magic he was wearing blocked it. When he is no longer protected by the magic and they are in high pressure situations all bets are off. If you like alpha shifters and spunky heroines you'll enjoy this quick light read.

Oh my gosh WOW I knew that Pixie would have a great story. And the way her and Dominick went at each other throughout the series like they hated each other. They are really great together. I loved all the characters of this series. You just wanted to be in their world 🌎 or at least they're BFFs. Only four stars because I personally thought these two deserved a better ending. And I know in the writers mind that time is still moving forward but I would have loved to see Jax and Bobbi get married. Like REALLY!! It was small things like that which pulled me out of the book. I just wanted more. The laughs, romance and surprises were freaking awesome.

Dominick and Pixie were made for each other. He didn't know that she was his fated mated because his first fated mate cheated on him. And he had magic place on a necklace to block any desires for women. He vowed to stay away from women. But he had to work with Pixie when all the shifters working for Shifters Inc feel ill to a toxic magic. And Pixie and Dominick's journeys begins. There was allot of action in this book, the pace was fast, exciting and over amazing. I didn't know Dominick but Pixie was introduced in previous books. I felt like it was implied that we should have know more about him. I didn't feel that connection with him but I really wanted more of him. What a great but short story. I wish it was more to read. I waited forever for Pixie's story. Perfect amounts of funny moments and a dash of spice. I wanted a better HEA.

Love this series.
I have really enjoyed ready this authors books.
I have loved Pixie from the beginning and the way she has tortured Dominic through previous books was so amusing.
Finding out why he was so antagonist towards Pixie was enlightening.
Poor Dominic and then Ryder.
Poor Pixie, finding out the truth of her birth. What a shock.
And Hilary, what a turnaround, glad she ended as she did.
I was just a bit surprised that this story seemed to just end quite abruptly without a good epilogue to wrap a few things.
Like was Barbara and her family caught?
I have owned this book for ages but my previous reviews from the back of the book is missing.
Love rereading about these zany characters.

Witchy Poo And The Lion

Love the story with mystery, who is who, from good to bad to good again. Learning where Pixie came from and who her family members were. Getting even and saving her friends and learning to be excepted. Look forward to Shifters, Inc. Maybe kids happening, and friends in need.

Great series!

The Pixie character is very well written. She is complex, loyal, daring, and brave. The Lion shifter is the perfect antagonist, and their interactions are most entertaining. The story is exciting and just entices me to read more of this series.

Another good read

Another story in the paranormal series and just as funny and entertaining as the previous ones. Like the feistiness and sass from pixie.

I've been waiting for Pixie's story since Shapeshifters Inc #1, which is the reason why I invested in this series. But I've been left disappointed. It moved too fast and some of the scenes were too predictable. Even the characters themselves seemed less than substantial. In the other books Pixie comes across sassy, independent, street savvy and reckless. That's what I loved about her. She had her own beat and owned it with pride. Unfortunately what I was presented with was a femme fatale who fell miles short of the benchmark.

However, it did have a few high points. There's the introduction of dark magic users; Bobbi and Jax don't interrupt the story, much; Dominick finally releases his aggression and Pixie becomes the Hero.

I would recommend this for those who don't mind something quick, laced with dysfunctional familial ties and a lot of 'mine, Mine, MINE!'.

Happy Reading

Good, but...

I loved pixie in the previous books, and Dominick is a good foil for her character. However, it needs a bit of editing. Sometimes, wrong names are used. For example, Taylor's name instead of Ion, which made the section really confusing. A couple of times, scenes were a little garbled. All in all, it reads either like an early draft, or a book in need of better editing. If grammar mistakes bother you, then this is not a book for you.
That said, it is a quick, cute read. With the plot of the brothers, going to try to be vague sho not to reveal spoilers, the book could've been stretched out a few chapters to flesh out characters. The ending with the hero's family, I wish it were longer, seemed a bit rushed.
So, I can recommend the book. It is cute, rather short, but pixie is spunky without being shrewish, and the hero is alpha with being an a-whole.

Gah - why did I keep reading this series? I bought them all at once in an Amazon deal and thought the reviews could be trusted. Dear god, the poor storylines, super easily concluded plots and irritating dialogue. I wish I'd quit at the first one.

Anyhoo - I know these books are popular. No offense to the readers and the writer. Not my jam. I thought this would be in line with G.A. Aiken's series. Nope. Nope. Nope. So, if you're looking for a writer that's in on the joke and self-aware about the over-done tropes and heaving bosoms/hormonal "MATE" urges, this ain't it. These books take it seriously. And, unfortunately - it didn't jive with me. If you want a "MATE - must have mate, can never look at another being again" Maybe this will be your cuppa.

Happy reading :)

Disappointed in this one. It seemed like a vehicle driven by Pixie's (not always clever) one liners. The lion had no, well, let's say he would have been more appropriate hanging out with Dorothy and a few flying monkeys, The plot was outrageous- Really. Just when you thought it was too far out there, the author added another impossible layer. In cases where I give a 2-star, it's due to thin storyline- in this instance, the plot was so thick I wanted to take a machete to it. Ending was wrapped up really quick with a bunch more... ready for it? Impossibly coincidental reveals. A wasted 2 hours of my time, not to mention 99cents

I always knew that Pixie and Dominick would get together it was only natural.

Another great book from Georgette, what can I say I love this author.

As we all know, who have been following the series that Pixie is interesting, very interesting. What can you say about a woman that can pick any lock! Dominick is a lion that knows what he wants, but really not sure how to get it. Toss in Pixie and she will tell you not only how, but where, and when to do it. This book is HOT! The action starts on the first page and never stops.

For those that have not read the series, no worries because this can be a stand-alone as all of Georgette books can.

Price point what can I say bang on.

The third book in this series features Dominik and Pixie. Pixie is a fairly strong heroine who can take care of herself. Good thing, because Dominik is a very poorly sketched out hero. He’s incapacitated by his lust for her at first - though curiously I didn’t feel any real chemistry between the two. The story itself is interesting, and fleshes out Pixie’s backstory, but as a romance I think this entry just falls short. The time from kiss to sex is non-existent and there’s no buildup. It’s the world that’s the more interesting part of this tale, and that’s a shame because I really wanted to see Pixie get a good romance.

This was a sure fast read, that had a lot going on--there were a couple of subplots--somehow all were resolved without the story feeling "cramped". Even though the story moved quickly, it flowed well. I also enjoyed the suspense/mystery aspect--the twists were surprising. Perfect amount of funny moments, and just a dash of spice. Loved the characters. To me, Dominick seemed a little over shadowed by Pixie's character, but not enough not to get a real sense of their relationship. Secondary characters were very entertaining too--I really hope we get Pixie's friend Anastasia's story soon.

This book was recommended to me by Amazon. I was expecting another great shifter romance, unfortunately there wasn't much romance at all. While cleverly written it is more like a YA story aside from the explicit sex. I liked Pixie's fiery character and her endless clever one-liners. I wished Dominick would have been a stronger character. Pixie drove the story. The plot was outrageous. It was supposed to be a stand alone story ... maybe I would have appreciated it more if I had read the first in the series first?

Wow!!!!Great!!!!!!

Sometimes I find an author that I just love every book that they put out. Geogette is definitely falls into this category. Another great read. I love the humor the drama and all the twists and turns, but at the same time she explains it so I don't get left behind. Pixie and Dominic have a wonderful story that adds to the great dynamic that flows through the Shifter Inc. series.

Was actually really disappointed with this one. I powered through the first two in the series and was really excited for this one since Pixie is such a character and has a dedicated history of tormenting Dominick. I felt like the author put so much effort into creating an interesting plot (and she did!) but left out developing the relationship between Dominick and Pixie. There was so much potential for growth and hijinks between those two. I feel like an opportunity was missed.

Love This Series

Love this series especially this one of Pixie and Dominic. Im glad he finally realised his fated mated instead of the one that cheated on him. This was by far my favourite out of the other 3 books. Gotta love pixie and the need to drive her lion mate crazy is funny as anything to read. Can't wait for the next book to this series and wonder whose book it will be.

Secrets and lies
Some books just get better the more you read them and this is one of those books. I love the characters, and how each one has a different past that has shaped their present. Good thing they have Pixie to straighten them out. Even if it is a swift strike to the head. The author kept the story moving with all of the action, danger, and snark while setting these two on a course for their HEA. I am really enjoying this series and I can’t wait to read the next installment.

Enjoyable installment in series that features Pixie and Dominick. Would have appreciated it more if it had been longer with more depth to characters, sequence of events, and climatic ending. Romance element was sweet with a touch of snarky sexual tension. Did wish the ending would have been different though.

Love me some Dom

every new book in this series makes me crave more. oh, and Dominick and Pixie together is hilarious. She's a spitfire and he's all gruff. Prefect Match. I'm super glad I took a chance on reading the alpha meets his match because now I have a new hilarious, sexy, and downright fun series to get lost in.

Love! Love! Love it!

Ms. St. Clair has done it again. oh was so waiting for Dominick and Pixie's story. They are awesome together, I read this in one sitting, not even taking a bathroom break. I love that these characters are so amazing you want to be them or at least be bff with them, but they're also real with flaws. definitely recommend it. read and enjoy.
