This series just gets better and better - I hope the next installment isn't too long in coming ...
Again I stopped normal life and immersed myself in Tori's world - and what a great place it was to be. Her indomitable spirit almost in spite of her conscious thoughts is wonderfully expressed by the writer.
You need to have read books one (Captive) and two (Bound) to get the full story, but there is some reflection which gives further understanding of her upbringing.
This is book 3 in the series [I believe there will be book 4.5,6 and 7]
I am always a bit reserved when it comes to series that have so many book attached to them. My reason is this:
I usually enjoy book 1. If I don't, then I try book 2, if that is still......um ah, no, then I leave the rest.
Sometimes authors give what they readers want, OK, I am OK with that, except, can the author deliver it as good and as interesting and as awe inspiringly captivating as previous books in that series. A lot can get weaker with POV series. I have a 'thing' about these, sorry, but its my humble preference.
Can I just say, THIS IS NOT THE CASE WITH THIS SERIES.
I was captive with book #1, I was eagerly reading book #2, breathing heavy by the time I got to book #3.
Tori is the CAPTIVE, I felt myself as the reader being the victim of an awe inspiring, emotional, angst, strong character, rollercoaster ride of emotions.
THIS BOOK IS JUST AS STRONG AS BOOK 1 EVER WAS, and book 2.
We now see Tori's life settling a bit. She can now safely leave the 'safe house' and start a new life for herself. Is it going to be easy though.
Henry [who we met in book 1 who was kind to her and had advice for her, leaving her with a key to something she didn't know what was at the end of it], Henry's brother now comes into the picture who promised Henry before his death, that he would keep Tori safe.
They find the box that the key belongs to, and hence the journey begins.
Tori never ceases to amaze me, she is one strong cookie. Yes she has her weaknesses as we all do, but with what she has gone through could have broken her. Yes it did, but not right through, it left cracks in her character, it left scars on her physically and emotionally. Getting through it all has been a remarkable experience for her and for me!
This author has a great way of telling this story, I don't know how she came up with this, but its an awesome read.
If you've not bought book 1 and 2, do so, you need to read the previous books before reading this one. They are NOT stand alone.
My hat goes off to this author, I just wish I had read these before.
SO after reading and loving both Captive and bound I thought that I had a good sense of where Entwined was going. I could not have been more wrong, and that my friends is why I love the writing of Miss Jacoby. She keeps me engrossed in her amazing stories that are always fresh and new and never boring. This installment of Tori’s story has just sucked me in even further and raised the bar for other stories. Entwined has reaffirmed that Tori is tough as nails, smart, and resourceful, while allowing Tori to grown and redefine herself. This novel brings so much more depth to Tori, and kept me invested even more than the previous novels. Samantha has introduced Michael into the story and god love him he is a good guy, which is new for Tori – Samantha wrote with amazing detail and flourish bringing the reader insight into Tori’s internal war that she struggles with having this new person in her life. One that has now given her new direction. But it seems that Tori’s broken soul has a few more hurdles to overcome since everyone is as invested with her as the readers are. I can not wait until the next installment to find out just what happens next !!!!!
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.
Entwined is book 3 of 7 in Samantha Jacobey's New Life series and the books must be read in order. This series is a tough read, given the life our heroine has lead, but worth reading.
Told mostly from the point of view of Tori's travelling companion, Entwined gives us a different view of Tori and I think this helps keeps the story fresh. Entwined has a quiet, steady pace and the relationship between Tori and her travelling companion is built slowly and is very well written. The whole time I was reading knowing I was being lulled into a false sense of security, knowing at some point Tori's past was going to have to come back and bite her. For me this has been the best book so far.
I am completely in love with this series and can't wait for book 4. I would highly recommend Entwined and the entire New Life series.
After the agony and turmoil of Captive (Book 1) and Bound (Book 2), Tori finally gets a chance to fall in love in Entwined, the 3rd book of the New Life Series by Samantha Jacobey. Mr. Hottie, Michael is back and determined to know what happened to his beloved brother Henry. He remembers a promise that he made him long ago and was determined to fulfill it. Tori, on the other hand, after she touched rock bottom and made it out in Book 2, stumbles in fear upon a face from her past and flees her new life in California. She is on the run but Michael has no problem catching up to her to find the answers he needs and fulfill the promise that he made to the person that is most important to both Tori and him, Henry. The dynamics between these two characters is mind blowing. The author is able to walk us through their relationship with caution and delicacy. The result is magical as Tori and Michael embark into a relationship too good to resist. As the new romance flourishes, so does the new conflict that involves them. This series is definitely worth your time and money! I cannot wait for Book 4 which will come out mid 2014!
In this installment, Tori is continuing to build a life for herself and FINALLY putting down some "roots". She's coming into her own and it's genuinely uplifting. As she begins to "come out of her shell" she's also starting to trust - question is who CAN and SHOULD she trust?! Not much "action" occurs, instead it's full of introspective growth for our heroine - She is one strong woman. As soon as you begin to feel excited that she will get to live a normal life, you realize that her life is a cruel joke. Based on the past two books, I feel this one was a bit more low-key. BUT I still NEED TO KNOW what happens!!!!
Book: Entwined (A New Life #3) Author: Samantha Jacobey Publication Date: 3/24/2014 Reviewed by: Tammy Payne- Book Nook Nuts My Rating: 5 Stars
REVIEW Wow book 3 takes us on one hell of an emotional journey with Tori. We finally learn who it is that followed her on the bus. We also learn about the shocker from book 2. And I can’t say we get a HEA yet but wow I am ready for book 4 now. Tori is one very strong woman she is not weak by any means. A survivor who keeps being put through hell but she comes back swinging.
This is the third book in the series and is still holding my attention!
Tori has been emancipated and has started piecing her life back together. She has a small business and a love interest. She finds out who has betrayed her and why. She is trying to put the past behind her and get to a point where she can start living a "normal" life but sins of the past have a habit of rearing their ugly head and once again, Tori has to deal with them.
This book really cuts deep into Tori's character. Her fears are laid open as she struggles with matters of the heart.
While there isn't a lot of action in this book compared to previous books, it's no less of a story because this covers the human angle.
This series just keeps getting better and better!!!
Again, if you have not read books 1 and 2 in this series please stop and read those first. These are NOT standalones.
In Entwined, Tori is finally trying to put down some roots and trying to build her life. As she learned in book 2 you can't always trust everyone you think. Will she be able to find that person in this book?
This book is so full of twists and turns I can honestly say I think it is my fav so far. I just could NOT put it down.
I am loving Michael!! Damn Cliffy yet again....I will try to patiently wait for book 4!!

Entwined, the 3rd book in the series is awesome! Among the books in the series, this one is my favorite! From the start up to the last, this book never bores me. I can't put it down!! I love the events that happened in this book. It's exciting and full of surprises!!
The characters, Tori, Michael and Eli are awesome! The things that happened in this book, man I didn't see that one coming! Loved it!!
The first book I finished it in one night, second book just as addicting, for whatever reason, I had a hard time staying interested in where Tori' s story was going... the last two chapters really got me back on track. This is not a series for people with triggers. Its a dark series that shows how strong Tori / main character is. I love the twists and turns! I am rooting for Tori to keep believing in a happy ending.
This story of a girl named Tori raised by a bikers in not the good way for over fifteen years was a heartache to read, but there was some good people in her life and love as well in the end but people from her past come back after her, was so interesting book, on to the next book!💗
Holy smokes! I loved this book and seeing another side of Tori. And Michael is not what I was expecting at all I am so glad they found each other. I hope they are able to make it through whatever is coming their way. I am so glad I stumbled across this series and author. It is so good!!

This installment slows the pace down as Tori runs from Michael and embarks on a journey of discovery and acceptance. He follows her and vows to keep his promise to his beloved brother and to Terry. He said he would look after Tori so he he follows her and sticks by her regardless of her pushing him away. He cautiously re evaluates his opinion of her as he questions his brother's devotion to this hard to reach woman, who he believes is nothing more than an emotionally detached whore. By spending time with her he realises how harshly he judged her. Treating her like a dangerous cornered animal he slowly tried to win her trust, her friendship and in the process loses his heart...
Their shared journey gives Tori time to reflect on her past, her previous relationships as such, and want she truly wants to do next. She blossoms like a delicate flower in the rays of adoration that Michael bathes her her. His tentative approach makes her realise she wants more than her addiction to dirty rough sex and booze to blot out the acts. His friendship enables Tori to let go of some her ghosts, to accept them and embrace her future. They build a life, friends and a home...until events spiral once more out of control...
Entwined again starts off right where Bound left off. I have to admit I was kind of wary of reading this third book. I was a little afraid that it wouldn't be moving forward. I have to say the first two books in this series were very slow. Yes I understand that the author was trying to get us introduced to Tori and get us to understand what happened to her.
In this book we find ourselves being introduced to Michael, who is Henry's brother. Michael who is the man who Tori saw at the music store at the end of Bound. Michael catches up to Tori and they both start theis treck to Texas.
I have to say this book is where I started liking chracters. I liked Michael right from the start. I liked how even though he had these preconceived ideas about Tori, that he was willing to give thone up and get to really know her.
I also have to say I really started to like Tori in this book. We get to see a little bit of a different side to her. And really hope that things have started to change for her.
I have to admit this has been by far my favorite in the series so far. It really started to pick up and there weren't as many flashbacks. I felt like we got to know the characters as they are now, instead of how the were.
I'm giving Entwined 4 out of 5 stars.
***I received a copy of this book from the author for my honest review***
So when are you ever free, never if your name is Tori Farrell because despite being out of the gang and away from the Dragons, she is still playing life by the rules of others. The FBI have her on a tight leash. She may think she has autonym by what is freedom if it is within a confined space. Taking control of her life she starts the wheels of her future spinning and to hell with the consequences. Can she get what she wants or will they be back to wrestle the control from her hands? This feisty little madam has a plan to make good on the events that shaped her childhood and it will take a strong man to stand in her way because e=backing down is not an option, as far as she is concerned. I liked Michael but found it difficult to understand Tori’s need to play her cards so close to her chest where he was concerned. She was so guarded and that was a shame because Michael deserved better. Change is never easy and for Tori that is the who crux of the issue. She has come so far but she has some much more to achieve. The story continues to deliver on the emotional intensity and Tori is beginning to take shape and with that I was hopelessly enthralled.
I loved this book... It is amazing to finally see Tori coming out of her shell and getting to experience life as it should be. She is experiencing a great friendships and even love!! You will not be disappointed with this book. I know I can't wait for the next!!
"Entwined" is book three in the twisted tale of Tori and her life. She left to try and find a life for herself away from bikers and everyone and everything she knew, but then pops in Henry's brother Micheal. Michael promised he'd take care of Tori no matter what, and he doesn't even like her. Is it possible to build a "normal" life after the way she was brought up? Just when you think she might get a little peace, her past shows up on her doorstep.
True to the New Life series, this one holds a lot of sex/sexual abuse, so if you have those as triggers, then I wouldn't recommend this for you. Tori finds out a lot about who she is in this book, and is definitely more humanized in this installment. Here's Amazon's link for Entwined: https://www.amazon.com/Entwined-New-L...
I had to extreme pleasure of reading this entire series from start to finish. How my heart broke and then leapt for joy when I finished this. Excellent writing and gosh the storyline was Divine. All seven of these books were delicious. You will experience every emotion know to man reading this. Don't miss out.
Very creative author with what I must say seems like a heart of gold.
finding these really hard to put down you want to get to the end but not want the book to finish very addictive wanting to see whats in store and will she get happy ending
“Love is worth it, no matter the outcome. I mean, when it ends, it’s gonna hurt, whether you had thirty days or thirty years. But the joy of that time… it’s completely unbeatable.”
This was dark places that were read in this place. What the girl went through some have been so tough. I am glad that she met Michael who really cares for
This is the 3rd book in this series. This book is better then the last 2. I still have the same exact complaints as the first 2 but I do like the story line. I really did love the new characters in this book. Every book we get to know more of Tori's backstory and more secrets are revealed. Slowly the whole story is being given and the lies that have been told are making some sense.
We pick up right where Bound left off. Except not in Tori POV instead in the man that made her run outta the music store and onto a bus. Remember back to book one Captive we heard about Henry. The guy who practically raised Tori and he genuinely loved and cared about her. We met Henry's younger half-brother Michael Anderson. Michael had made a promise to his brother to take care of Tori. Micheal knows his brother loves this girl but for the life of it he can not see or understand why. But, he'd do anything for Henry. Michael has been waiting for Henry to send him the girl. But, hasn't heard anything from Henry in a year.
Eddie Farrell the head of the dragons had made Michael get a job as head security for the group Indelible. He couldn't believe his eyes when he saw Tori working there. When she saw him and took off he convinced Terry he was there to help and protect her. Now, their on a bus to Denver for who knows what. Michael can't stand Tori and the feelings are mutual. Tori thinks Michael took advantage of her all those years ago. She doesn't realize that other then Terry he's the only other guy in her life to never touch her. Michael can't even look at her. He thinks she's nothing but a dirty nasty slut a dirty whore. Little does he realize that all that time with the Dragons she did things not by choice. She did it to stay alive. She did it to not get beat up and hurt more then she already was. Tori had to adapt.
Michael got Tori to agree to let him stay with her until she got to her final destination and settled down. They get to Denver and eventually end up in Texas. Tori knows it's the perfect place to disappear too. Tori knows as long as she's alive the organization will never stop looking for her. Which means she'll never be 100% safe. That's why she can not have friends bc she will not let anybody else get hurt because of her.
Michael refuses to leave Tori. They agree on a date he will leave by. Tori tries to just ignore the man. That definitely doesn't work too well. With the money they have they buy an abandoned gas station with attached house. Michael shows Tori all about fixing houses and certain basic living. Everything is basically new for Tori from what she was used to growing up with the Dragons. Tori then teaches Michael how to fix motorcycles. They fix them up and sell them and do it all over again.
The more time these two spend together the more they realize they were wrong about the other. Michael can see why is brother loved Tori. He knows there is nobody that can protect, care and love her like he can. He needs to make her his and that includes her having his last name. Tori realizes Michael isn't the man she thought he was. And, the more time she spends with him the more she realizes she doesn't want him to leave. She wants him to stay which is so weird for her. Just when they both thought they had everything figured out for now somebody from Tori past comes knocking at their front door.
This book moved pretty quick for me. I loved how we got a completely different side of Tori. Michael POV of her was great to see. Even though they spent so much time without speaking to each other. They still figured out a way to coexist together. The more space Michael gave her the more Tori opened up. The more stuff she learned she liked and the new stuff she learned. Tori learned how to live an everyday life. The way she should have. Tori learned to trust Michael. I loved that she started having flashbacks/dreams. From what and where we still aren't sure. But, I'm hoping that means we will find out more of Tori's past life sooner then later. Seeing how patient Michael was with Tori was awesome. He went from thinking the worst of the worst to the opposite. Even when he didn't think highly of her he still gave her the respect. Even if just for the sake of his brother. Other then Terry he's probably the best thing to enter her life. I still could not stand the lack of dialogue and the way stuff was worded. It killed me!! It's obvious by the storyline that the author is not a prude. So, why the words folds and salty ooze and others. It takes away from what's actually going on. For me anyway. I will read book 4 bc I need to know what's next for Tori and Michael.
Was really hoping Tori would be able to get a happy ending. The men in her life ruining everything, her poor life! The Fbi is just as bad as the men who kidnapped, beat and repeatedly, brutality raped her. This ends in another cliffhanger, not sure if I will read the next book
Tori Farrell thought she'd left the past behind. In her mind, doing so meant she'd be able to move on, and live a life of her own making. Man, was she wrong! Though she has more freedom now than she did before, she doesn't quite get to be free of the Feds and all of the their rules. Sure, she sees to things as she sees fit, but only if what she wants to do agrees with the rules they set forth for her.
Refusing to sit on the sidelines, Tori sets into motion a series of events that may or may not be the best choices she's made. Still, she's not that worried. Well, sort of. She's determined in taking the bull by its horns, and making something of herself. Granted, she knows that her freedom and days are numbered, but she won't bend to the powers that be. She has the chance to do make amends for the mistakes she's made in the past, and she's going to do just that.
When Henry's brother comes along for ride, Tori soon realizes that things aren't as simple as they seem. She has a lot of explaining to do, and time isn't exactly on her side. She knows she owes Michael answers, but she's afraid to show him who and what she truly is. She's hidden her inner self for so long that it's hard to trust someone. Most especially when it's a man like Michael. Nevertheless, she's willing to give things a shot despite the fact that things will end up changing completely in the long run.
Entwined continues where Bound left off, delivering an emotion-packed story that's sure to leave you breathless and wanting to read more by the time you get to the very end. Tori's life is still full of ups and downs, but she's no longer alone to take the brunt of the adversities coming her way. It's heart-warming to see that she's growing up in so many ways. She's dealt with so much pain, always promising herself that the next day will probably be better. I'm not sure what Exposed, the fourth book in the series, has coming for Tori, but I'm willing to bet the book will be just as explosive and action-packed as this one. So can't wait to see what comes next!
I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is NOT a stand-alone novel. They must be read in sequence.
This series keeps getting better the more you read. This is another great can't-put-down novel. As you read, you become invested in Tori's story, and you are compelled to get through as quickly as possible. As the stories progress, you are just as captivated as when reading the first book. Maintaining that level of interest is quite a feat, and the author has done a great job of taking you into Tori's world. Each story takes you someplace different, and never where you expect it to go. At the end of book 2, we see Tori get on a bus and she realizes, sitting in the seat next to her, is Michael, a ghost from her past. Their paths had only crossed once before, briefly. Tori decides to allow him to follow her to Texas, with the intent of making him leave once he has served her purpose. Taking on a slightly different tone, this book is a bit sweeter than the others as we get to know Tori a little better and she begins trying to forge her own path. There is still a few gritty, dirty memories, but they are becoming fewer, perhaps as they are for Tori. You also get to see some of the past from the eyes of other characters, getting altered perspectives. Seeing Tori form connections with others without trying is so endearing. But trouble is never far away. With each question that gets answered, more questions arise, and of course, the biggest one, Who is Tori and where did she come from will leave you wanting to get through as quickly as possible to see what awaits on the next page. When you get to the end, you will immediately need to pick up book 4.
This series is a Must Read- not meant for the faint-of-heart. The books contain scenes of extreme violence and sexual content.
Entwined is the third book in this gripping series and the prologue starts by taking us back to where (and under what circumstances) Michael first encounters Tori all those years ago. It gives us his pov of the story we already heard in the previous book.Michael's misunderstanding of what Tori's life was like and how willing she was, means that he holds her in a very dim light. Despite his disrespect for her, he is bound to uphold the promise he made to his brother, Henry. What ensues is a long, cross-country journey begrudgingly forcing Tori to pair up with Michael. What Tori learns is that he may be the first honourable man that she's encountered (besides the father-like figure that is Terry) and despite his misgivings, Michael begins to see a different side to her too. Tori still loathes to be touched and even though she is reluctant to show it, she's grateful for not only Michael's help but also his company. When she suspects that he's getting too comfortable though, she goes against her own developing feelings, demanding that he leave her alone. While Michael and Tori are side-stepping one another, there's the lingering questions about the FBI and their motives. Tori has already begun to deduce that there's more going on than she's been lead to believe but will we ever know what they're hiding? Will Tori ever be left to make a life for herself? Although the story still touches on horrific subject matters, it is far less harrowing and dark than certainly the first book was. Either that, or I'm becoming desensitised!Once again, this instalment in the series has been beautifully written. It left me with many more unanswered questions and I can't wait to see what happens in New York.
