Keke Wilson’s life just keeps getting worse. The product of a teenage pregnancy and a selfish, uncaring, absent mother, Keke grows up in the care of her grandmother, Lottie, with a gaping hole in her heart that she desperately wants to fill.
At the age of 15, Keke meets and befriends Rodney Preston, who soon becomes her baby’s father, then abandons her, which completely turns her life upside-down. As a result, Keke runs the risk of following in her birthmother’s footsteps as she tries to balance the responsibility of motherhood with the trifling acts of her baby's daddy and his new hoodrat girlfriend, Shantrell. Keke quickly discovers that her baby’s daddy ain’t shit and neither is the bitch he’s fuckin’!
Lissen — This was such a whirlwind of a read! Keke’s life has been rough from the jump, and she had to learn some hard lessons to try to come out on top.
The author has a really good grasp on emotion and getting the reader to feel how they want us to feel. Def a fan, def would read again.
She is a young girl growing up with her grandmother because her mother had her at young age and didn't want her, everybody said she will turn out just like her mom the neighborhood tramp but so far she is doing better with her child than her mom did with her
This was entertaining but so sad. I wish we could have gotten a glimpse of where Keke and Marcus went. It was so sad how much Keke had to deal with on her own. Thank goodness she had a friend. Her grandmother and mother were works of art. Where do you throw out family at their lowest point at? I would have really loved to see her make and I wish the story would have showed that. It didn't, but it ended with her stepping forward. Definitely recommended.
