Twenty years have passed since the last revision of this best-selling resource for pastors. This third revised edition features everything ministers love about the classic, with some valuable updates for twenty-first century ministry.
I’ve been using this book for quite some time. Mainly for scriptures to use during funeral processionals and recessionals. I do not find it useful for other liturgical purposes. There are plenty more helpful books that can assist with ministry, sermon prep and the planning of various types of services and worship celebrations as well as giving guidance on visitations, House blessings, blessings for street namings, prison visitations, and other tasks the modern preached is called upon to perform.
Even though I have this book on my iPhone, this ebook is a source of answers to many questions of ministry questions. The format is clear and easy to access.
It is a very concise and informative book, good I think for any denomination. Written I think from a Baptist perspective but, as a Methodist Pastor, I found no conflicting theology. I will continue to use it as a reference as needed.
