Pale Moon Rises is an 85,000+ word Urban Fantasy with a shadowy Mafia twist.
Shaye Torrel has always loved to make believe. Reading was an extension of that, an opportunity to imagine hundreds of different people and places. As a teenager she discovered that by writing she too could create windows into other worlds, letting all the imaginary people out of her brain and onto paper. But life happened and her writing was shelved for Someday. After a brush with her mortality, Shaye realised there is no Someday, only Today. So now she is happily pursuing her dream of being an author with the loving support of her partner, The Tradie, and their four legged fur-baby. Shaye lives in the South Island of New Zealand, likes iced almond milk chai and reads whenever she can.
Another fantastic read by this author. I can’t lie I may have shed a little tear when Lorcan finally bonded with his foster mum. This couple had so much childhood trauma to get over. Such a fantastic story. Hopefully book 3 won't be too far behind.
A beautiful slow burn romance that you need to read if you love werewolf stories. This is a very fast paced story that I flew through in two sittings only because I had to go to bed. When reading book one I knew I wanted to get to know Maeve and Lorcan on a deeper level and I got that within this book.
I really enjoyed the pacing, I felt things moved very well, I enjoyed seeing Maeve and Lorcan in their own environments before they both came together to deal with the situation that arises.
I had a lot of fun learning about wolves and the authors take on them. That was so much fun.
Compared to book one I do feel we had less of a dynamic plot because it was quite insular to Maeve and Lorcan. I do believe that this is a much more character focused novel which I enjoyed.
The slow-burn romance is great I loved watching them slowly fall for one another and do little things to take care of one another throughout the story. I am sad we getting to see much of the other characters from book one but I am excited to see where this series goes.
I found this series at the recommendation of a friend and absolutely devoured the first book.
Pale Moon Rises is the second in the series and, while existing within the same world with characters we've met before, is completely different from the first. And that's what I love about it. It has all the best parts of the first book in the series -- the touch of mystery, the paranormal elements, the mood and flavor of this world -- and then adds in elements I didn't expect. There's a touch of coziness and comfort in the storyline as well as hurt and heartbreak, a few WTF! moments, and we slowly learn more about the Court and its denizens.
Did I enjoy this book as much as the first? ABSOLUTELY!! Did I devour it, too? Yes. Yes, I did. Will I read it again? You bet I will! Will you read it?
Lorcan and Maeve’s story pull you right in to the romance, intrigue and drama. I love an alpha with a heart of gold and a tough woman. Shaye’s words have you right there with the couple. I highly recommend this paranormal romance. I can’t wait for the next one in the series.
Gahh I loved this one even more than the first. Lorcan was a big ol’ alpharoll who had my heart back in book one and his softie vibes had me kicking my feet in this story. Lorcan, Maeve, and Cassidy made the most adorable family and I enjoyed watching them fall in love
