I don't normally write reviews for books that I don't completely finish, but let me explain.
One: Joy is a walking hazard. She not once, but twice caught herself in a huge mixer just walking by. One of which I'm shocked she didn't lose a limb.
Two: This was so confusing!! I thought Joy owned the bakery, but she didn't. The man who first walked in ended up getting dumbed. I definitely didn't get that from the interaction. The whole time I thought he was hitting on Joy literally after getting "dumped" just to find out he was gay. I could go on. I hope there is someone else who felt this way and not just me.
After seeing a review that the ending wasn't much better, I'm so glad I didn't continue this one.

This was a very cute story however very short book. I was totally expecting something with more detail because it just would’ve been better and some more extra events occurring. I love the story. It was very cute story but I just wish that they extended it to make it a legitimate book Because this book could’ve been really good if they added more flavor and more structure to the story overall it was a very cute story, but very short it should’ve definitely been extended.

What the heck happened with Mateo then? Because the next book is with a whole different person ANOTHER 5 years later? Did we forget about him? Like yeah I’m glad because dude was engaged so eww, but did you forget you were going that route or what? Or am I missing a book? What was that epilogue for???
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

This was a cute little short book that I grabbed off of the stuff your Kindle day, not a lot of substance but a cute and quick read. It nearly earned three stars from me until the twist and cliffhanger at the end, I abhor cliffhangers and always take off a star for those. Two stars.

A short story that introduces the reader to many of the characters in the "Valentine's Sweethearts" series.
Joy Blessing is having a disaster of a Valentine's Day. Not only is she alone, but she's found herself stuck in a mixer on more than one occasion. Luckily, Mateo Curtis comes around to rescue her and the two share some interesting Valentine's Day experiences.
Honestly, this story was such a rip-off. I was so confused at the beginning because I thought that Joy owned the coffeehouse, and then it turned out she was just an employee that was left there alone. This story is only the start to Joy and Mateo's romance, which I thought was dumb. If one is going to write a short story about characters from their upcoming series, why not give it a happily ever after? Also, Joy and Mateo's date was completely skipped over, which I also thought was a major L decision.
Overall, "Joy's Coffeehouse Romance" was a horribly written story that left me feeling confused and angry. Nothing made sense in this story, and it literally ends with no resolution. This definitely didn't make me interested in reading the rest of the series. It actually has me wanting to boycott the author completely because it is cruel that they are charging people money to read this!

Perfect short story romance til the epilogue.
A cute short story romance taking place all in one day and should have stopped there. I imagine the epilogue was added to tie it in with the series. Joy is having a rough Valentines Day, though she makes a new friend who prompts her to open her heart to the possibility of love. Then she realizes she has been ignoring a real possibility all along.
Another bonus story is added that is less dynamic but still part of Joy’s life.

Joy is hoping for her Valentine, but she is too busy with work, school and planning for her own coffehouse.
A sweet romance of missed chances and being oblivious to each other. Quirky and fun characters make this a good read to enjoy and laugh along with.
I received a copy of this book from the author. I am leaving a voluntary and honest review.

It's really amazing how oblivious we can be when someone is flirting with us. All the missed signals. The messages being dismissed as friendly. Mateo has had his eye on Joy. Hers are about to be opened.

Really cute story. But I really disliked the ending epilogue. It was good until then. Really, who would think it would be ok to ignore someone for 5 years. Without the epilogue I would have given this 5 stars.

This is a quick read. A cute romance where Joy was oblivious to Mateo's feelings for her until it was pointed out to her. I didn't care for the ending.
I received a free ARC, and this is my honest opinion.
