I’m thrilled to introduce my book, The Seed of Beej Ganit (Algebra) through Stories, which proudly holds the distinction of winning the Golden Book Award 2025. This project was born from my heartfelt desire to help young readers discover the joy of learning—especially when it comes to a subject like math.
Inspiration struck when I read articles about how children in both India and the U.S. often find math, and algebra in particular, difficult and even frustrating. I began to Why should children dread learning about the mysterious ‘x’?
As an engineer, my own journey with math was far from enjoyable. I learned it through rote memorization—formulas forced upon me by my parents and grandfather to pass exams. But I believe there’s a better way. I asked myself, “Can we teach math through stories, making it engaging and fun?”
This book is my answer. By weaving the basics of algebra into stories that resonate with everyday life, I hope to transform math from a daunting subject into a delightful adventure. My aim is to ignite curiosity and make learning an enjoyable experience for kids aged 8–12.
Welcome to a new way of looking at algebra—one where every story plants a seed of understanding that grows into a love for learning. Enjoy the journey!
