My Knotty Mountain Men

Rate this book
When I find myself snowed in and alone while I'm supposed to be on a girls trip in the mountains there's a knock on the door I don't expect.

I open it to find three sexy strangers who are about to turn my whole world upside down.

Realization that we’re scent matches has them feral and determined. That's how I found myself thrown over one of their shoulders and swept away to their cabin.

Life isn't a fairytale and when my heat breaks, I'm back in Calling Wood with a broken heart.

To make things more complicated, I find myself pregnant. Knowing I can't keep this to myself, I need to go back to the little mountain town and let them know.

Seeing them again, I expect the worst.

Only I'm wrong and spent so much time away from them for nothing.

Now I have my dream pack, a baby on the way and a life I've always wanted.

But that's not proven as easy as we'd like when there's someone determined to take what's rightfully mine.

Ok, so good and bad, but overall, I liked this novel. The issues I had, I think, were very much me. There were just a couple of things that took me out of the story, but that may be because there are logical parts of my brain I just can't turn off.
First, I will say this story was super sweet. It did a great job of being very inclusive of all pack members and their relationships with each other, not only the FMC. Also, it is very well laid out what you are getting in the beginning. A very sweet story with a few OTT WTF moments due to another woman's (not "other" woman) drama. It hit the right notes with a lot of those.
The things that got me were enough to GET me, IYKWIM. The gun toting omega. I come from a gun toting state(even if I myself am not a fan), and who in the world waves a gun around so freely? The first time she pulled it out, I thought I read it wrong and went back. The first time shots were fired, my eyebrows hit my hairline. Also, after the hospital, who thinks the first thing they want to do after a few days of giving birth, is to head to the coffee/sandwich shop to take their baby that is days old so they can get out amd have a bite? FR, here, people.
And I think Sweets is possibly the worst endearment I've read. There, I said it. The cringe took me out of the story every time I read it.

Sweet fulfilling snowy OV
Violet is our FMC whose beginning to question if there’s something wrong with her…she’s a 28 year old Omega who hasn’t had a heat or found her pack yet 😩
Our MMCs are Alphas Aiden and Thomas with beta Nolan, all slightly older they’ve been on the look out for an omega to complete their family, although all happy and active with each other they know they’re missing something!
A girls trip to Violets mountain cabin goes horribly awry when she gets snowed in all alone…and yup you guessed it this pack comes to the rescue…and wow do these turn into protective growly men 😄 and the claiming of her is 🔥🔥 however it leads to a surprise none of them were prepared for!
It’s so cleverly written that in the back of your mind you know somethings going to happen because it’s all soo sweet and fulfilling but you can’t work out what cause it’s all going so well….and then wham Ms Williams hits you right with it 😮
Thankfully this pack finds its self back together and eager to live out their lives full of the love they have for each other…lots of group inc MM scenes 🌶️
A cozy fulfilling read

DNF. I just couldn't with this book.

First, she's an "older Omega" plus the picture and the lead in that makes you think she's in her early to mid thirties. Nope. She's 28. I suppose that's *technically* older than your average Omega at 18-21 but come on.
Also, a virgin? She's never even gotten herself off? I get that she hasn't found her pack but she hasn't even really ever dated.
The guys also take one whiff of her and literally kidnap her while growling "mine", but which I normally like but this was just gag worthy by how over the top and cliche it was.
Oh, and she immediately triggers her heat after never having one. They don't even know each other's freaking names or any info but they are all talking about forever and moving in together and everything after literally a few sentences to each other.

Overall, just way too over the top, extremely cliche, and just ridiculous in a not funny way.

Loved this one!! I’m a big fan of omegaverse and this did not disappoint! Violet is an omega longing for a pack. Aiden, Thomas, and Nolan are a pack that have given up hope on finding their omega. One chance encounter in a grocery store, a crazy blizzard, and semi kidnapping later and they realize they’re scent matched. They spend a week together when Violet goes into heat, then there’s a huge misunderstanding that sends Violet running from them. She comes back a few months later and learns what she thought was wrong. These alphas and beta are so sweet to their omega. They adore her and have no problem showing it. There’s some other woman drama, but no angst or 3rd act breakup. Once Pack Wheeler claim their omega, they stand together to weather every storm. I loved it and can’t wait for more stories in this world!

DNF: Mixed Feelings

The first 42 pages are everything I hate in a novel - and this is where I stopped. I might go back and revise this review….but seriously. When I look for an omegaverse, the last thing I want to read is the Alphas acting like real world misogynists. Thomas and Aiden don’t care about Violet. They don’t even know her. As soon as her heat spikes it’s like they’re all in a locker room high fiving each other because because nookie is inevitable and it’s going to be the “sweetest” they ever had. In the omegaverse, sex is usually at the forefront. But this? This was so concerning. Violet even says “I don’t know these men…” She’s right. They kidnap her, don’t give her any say in her own care, and then basically when she falls asleep no further communication - bam, heat. I get it. This was done to cause tension, to ratchet up the insecurity, to cause drama. What I think Williams fails to understand is this behavior from the Alphas - who are as clueless as all get out never having helped an Omega in heat (and why would a pack that has been trying so hard for an Omega do some dang research?) seem to think they are entitled to Violet. Like magic, this 28-year old woman is going to be their salvation with no work on their part. Congratulations, these Alphas are stereotypical men. I may as well be reading a contemporary romance or something equally annoying.

Irritating Inconsistencies

SPOILERS:

Would have been 4 stars if not for big inconsistencies. How these even happen when you when you have Alpha readers, editors and/and ARC team is unbelievable!

#1 Macys siblings - Nolan explains at the beginning that Macy is raising her younger brother and sister who were 8 & 3 5 years ago so 13 & 8 now, even going on to mention how much her little sister looks up to her like a hero. Later at the coffee shop Macy mentions to Violet how hard it is raising 2 hormonal boys.

#2 Violet tells them all she is a virgin, they let Nolan go first because not being an Alpha he will be gentler on her for her first time. Later in the book after finding out she had male friends growing up Thomas becomes irritated stating "I don't want to find out how many people you've been with or who, because I'm telling you right now, baby girl I'd kick all of their asses" How does he forget that she hadn't been with anyone?

I liked the book overall but I was very irritated by the inconsistencies.

I didn't care for this one. It started out pretty good, and the story wasn't too bad, then we have the conflict, and things are moving toward the HEA.
But wait! We are only 30% into the book by this point. Really? What else could you put in here to make it worth it to have 70% more? The answer: not much.

First off, please tell me how teachers are able to take a week off of work at a moment's notice during the school year? My parents were teachers, and I can tell you, they can't.

Later, I found a wrong word used. Who's is not the same as whose. Editing should have picked that up. Or even just a proofread.

So, after she went back to them, that's when everything started going downhill for me. Everything was stretched out with some boring sex scenes rather than background or emotional bonding. Everything was insta-love for everyone, which i don't like because it feels like a cop out to real emotional and relationship building.

The writing also felt juvenile. None of the characters felt like they were over 24.

I will not read this again and would not recommend it.

Snowed in alone in her mountain cabin Violet opens the door when she's dug out to find three sexy men. Within minutes she is dressed in her warmest clothes, thrown on a four-wheeler, and on her way to their cabin. They are scent matches, and they are keeping her. Their proximity triggers her heat and Violet has the best few days of her life, but after her heat ends, everything falls apart. She heads home alone and heartbroken... and pregnant. She knows she has to let the men know, so even though she's scared, she and her friends head back to the mountains to share the news. It turns out better than expected and Violet's dreams come true. She has everything she's ever wanted, a pack, a home, and a baby on the way. However, there's someone convinced that Violet is an imposter and trying to live a life undeserved. Someone determined, that Violet's life is meant for them instead.

I loved the premise of this book and it started strong but the overall execution was uneven. At times, it was too much. The title and cover were cringeworthy to me. The writing was a bit juvenile. The pregnancy was silly. She couldn't go skiing and it was risky to go four-wheeling, but she hopped in a hot springs. She was enormous barely past the midway point and the doctor wasn't concerned. She pulled a gun during an emotional meltdown more than once. Then she heads straight to the coffee shop when leaving the hospital with her new baby. Yeah, no new parents ever. My final problem with the book is personal. I am not a big poly fan. I love mm, but want it to stay secondary to the female Omega relationship. I want the pack to revolve around her. This felt primarily mm with the Omega brought in as a breeder. It was insta-scent and I was never convinced that who Violet was mattered. The men loved each other and had for years, she was the missing piece to provide children. It didn't work for me.

My Knotty Mountain Men by Alisha Williams is the start of a new series. It is connected to her Calling Wood series but it is not necessary to read it before this book. There is one female omega, two male alpha and one male beta; there is MM.

Violet has been alone for a long time with only her best friends as her family. She has been looking for a pack but has not found the right one yet. She decides to visit her parent’s old cabin that she has not seen since their death. She runs into a cute beta (Nolan) while stocking up at a local store. He knows there is something special about her right away.

Nolan heads home to his packmates and lovers; Aiden and Thomas. As a snow storm rolls in, they notice smoke from a cabin that is uninhabited and decide to go check it out. They find Violet there by herself and the moment the alphas smell her they know she is their scent match. They have been looking for an omega for a long time but have not found the right one for their pack. They decide to take Violet back to her place and very quickly her first heat starts.

From here, things get a little complicated. After her heat, an old girlfriend shows up and scares Violet into going home before talking to the guys. A few months later, Violet finds out she is pregnant and decides no matter what the ex says, she needs to go back to the guys and tell them the news.

How will the guys react when they see her again? How will they react when they find out she is pregnant? What will happen when that ex shows up again?

This is a great read and I look forward to reading more from this series. There are certainly a number of characters that will need a HEA. Go read this book now.

4.5 ⭐

My Knotty Mountain Men is about Violet who is in Snow Valley, Colorado to have a girl's trip with her best friends, but a snowstorm came running through town trapping Violet in her family’s cabin and her friends back in California.

After noticing smoke from a chimney in a cabin nearby, alpha’s Thomas and Aiden and beta, Nolan snowmobile to the cabin where they meet Violet, their omega and she finds herself swept away to their cabin.

When her heat breaks a week later, Violet’s back in Calling Wood with a broken heart. Three months later, she finds herself pregnant and returning to Snow Valley and to her mates, but someone is determined to take her mates away from her.

I’m still new to omegaverses but I have to say I’m absolutely in love with the alphas and beta’s primal need to be with their omega. I love their possessiveness over her and how protective they are of Violet and their unborn baby. I loved Aiden, Thomas and Nolan’s relationship and the relationship that they have with Violet. There’s a ton of other women drama with an insufferable woman who Thomas, Aiden and Nolan had a couple dates with. I do feel like it was dragged on just a little too much, other than that I enjoyed this book so much! I loved all of the love and support Violet had with her friends. I absolutely love the accidental pregnancy trope and thought it was well written. I enjoyed the plot, characters, and oh my lord the spice is extremely hot!!!

I can’t wait for what comes next in Snow Valley.

I'm pretty disappointed in this book. There were a lot of problens and plot holes here.

The guys desperately want an omega so they can become dads. According to Nolan, the guys were all really happy together, but he had to watch his alphas grieve their chance to be parents because Nolan couldn't give them that and they hadn't found their omega yet. It felt like the guys were completely fulfilled by each other in their poly relationship, and all they needed now was a breeder.

I'm not even sure if the guys like Violet (FMC) as a person, or if they don't even care about getting to know her because all they want is her uterus.

The fact that these guys are in their late 30s and early 40s, but they are completely clueless about omegas and omega care is ridiculous. Apparently, they've been searching for an omega for decades; you'd think they would make sure they knew what to do with her once they found one. But no, obviously all they needed to know about omegas is where to stick their cocks.

This book is really heavy in MM relationships and sex. It was far more than I'm comfortable with. There is a fine line authors need to juggle with this topic, because no one wants to read about uneven relationships. I don't want to read about a vulnerable female omega being emotionally and sexually neglected because the guys love eachother too much.

Alisha is my Queen of Omegaverse. Her books hooked me in from the beginning and this one was no different.

Violet and her men were amazing. My favorite thing about the entire book was that even though we did get some drama it wasn't between them. There was no fights and no unnecessary break ups half way through the book. Yes they did separate for a little bit but they wasn't even together so I'm not counting that. They instantly became obsessed with each other.

They were all together which I love. The chemistry was off the charts. The connection they all had was so raw and real it made me fall for them so fast. The guys didn't hesitate when it came to showing each other and Violet affection. They loved each other deeply and made sure the rest of the pack knew it.

I liked all the side characters. They had an amazing support system. Loved how close some of them were to their friends and family. Most definitely looking forward to some of those characters story.

The drama that was going on kept me entertained. I was always waiting for something to happen so I was always at the edge of my seat. BUT their story and their love for each other didn't really have me too worried about what was trying to keep them apart. I knew they were gonna have their happy ending cause they were not gonna stay away from each other.

I have been holding out for Violet's happy ending after reading the first few chapters in an anthology last year and this didn't disappoint. Omegaverse is becoming one of my favourite why choose tropes even though I am not an insta love fan in general I am a sucker for the instant connection between Alphas, Betas and Omegas. This cozy read starts off with a spicy meet cute, has a bit of angst but also plenty of sweet moments.

Violet was really likeable and I was rooting for her and her pack. Thomas and Nolan were great but Aiden was my stand out. Although everyone suffered through their separation, I felt Aiden's was the most genuine. He really broke my heart with not only with his feelings about Violet but also how it impacted his relationship with Nolan and Thomas. I also liked the twist on the other woman drama and how Violet's girls rallied around her. I cannot wait to hear more from this universe with that afterword too!

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

I love every addition into Alisha’s callingwood Omegaverse universe.
This book felt like a spin off season, because like her book ‘Knot Going Anywhere it doesn’t take place at Callinwood.
It’s more of a bringing the wider world as a whole into it & I love that. Especially because in the future will be getting more from violet’s friends.
Who I LOVED! Alisha has a way of writing friend groups without them feeling like second thought background characters. And this group of girls was no different.
I love how we got a spin on the “other woman” drama trope. Cause while it was kinda another woman. It was more crazy woman drama. We also got a spin on the miscommunication trope. Because it made sense WHY it was there and wasn’t drawn out for the sake of drama.
The relationship between Nolan, (the beta) Aiden & Thomas (the alphas) was absolutely beautiful. We get moments with the three of them and not forgetting their relationship once Violet comes into the picture.
While I wouldn’t consider this book one of Alisha’s spiciest stories. The spice and the sweetness was amazing. I loved all the moments!

Great Omegaverse

I really enjoyed this Omegaverse. Violet is such a great Omega, and the Alphas, Aiden and Thomas, are hot and perfect mountain men. Add in Nolan, the Beta, and Viol8is one lucky girl.

Violet is a twenty eight year old Omega who suffered from something traumatic when she was eighteen. She thinks that because of that, she hasn't had a heat ever. She felt lonely for a while but found her girl friends while working at Calling Woods. She decides to go to her family cabin in the mountains and her friends will meet her there. While there, she goes to the grocery store to stock up and runs into a Beta who stirs something in her.

Nolan is with his Alphas and spending time when they notice smoke coming from the chimney of a cabin a little bit away that has been vacant for awhile. With the snow so heavy, they decide to go check on whoever is staying there. When the door opens, they are hit with a smell that makes them feral.

So much happens in this book and is some crazy woman drama, but man, is this book perfect. Don't want to give anything away. Just read this! Can't wait for books on the side characters, too. Great cast of characters!

I have complicated feelings about this book. I really liked the premise and the characters, but the pacing felt all wrong. This review may contain spoilers so read at your own risk!

I loved Violet/Letty as an FMC though because she has a really big heart and the guys needed someone like that, especially sweet Nolan. she also immediately came and told them about the baby instead of trying to hide it which was nice. I enjoyed the MMC's dynamic and relationship growth in addition to their relationship with the FMC.

This was another awesome Omegaverse book by Alisha Williams. Although the FMC works at the school Calling Wood, this is completely separate from her other books set at Calling Wood as the book primarily takes place in the small mountain town of Snow Valley. So no need to read any other books first. Though you really should as they are quite good.

I loved the scent match aspect of this book. In this book, the alphas are all in as soon as they realize Violet is their scent match. And they are completely obsessive Alphas! I loved both Arden and Thomas. However, the star of this book and pack is their beta, Nolan. He is funny and sweet and makes everyone and everything just come together so well.

This book was really good. Enough drama to keep things interesting, but overall the focus was on Violet and her pack and her pregnancy.

I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to see more books about the side characters in this book, particularly Macy!

Blurb: "When I find myself snowed in and alone while I’m supposed to be on a girls trip in the mountains there’s a knock on the door I don’t expect.
I open it to find three sexy strangers who are about to turn my whole world upside down.
Realization that we’re scent matches has them feral and determined. That’s how I found myself thrown over one of their shoulders and swept away to their cabin.
Life isn’t a fairytale and when my heat breaks, I’m back in Calling Wood with a broken heart.
To make things more complicated, I find myself pregnant. Knowing I can’t keep this to myself, I need to go back to the little mountain town and let them know.
Seeing them again, I expect the worst.
Only I’m wrong and spent so much time away from them for nothing.
Now I have my dream pack, a baby on the way and a life I’ve always wanted.
But that’s not proven as easy as we’d like when there’s someone determined to take what’s rightfully mine."

Violet is the cutest omega ever. She thought she would never find her perfect pack, yet getting snowed in would result in meeting her matches and gah it sounds lovely doesn’t it? Well, it’s not as easy as it seems. Violet had to go work communication and trust in order to truly be at peace. And oh boy, did Nolan, Aiden & Thomas delivered!
Nolan is the one who keeps the balance, the glue of the pack - and the voice of reason once pheromones take over lol. He’s so protective of Violet, and I love how they bonded you could truly see how deeply they cared of each other.
Thomas & Aiden king of reminded me of Viking royalty lol. They were so delicious. They had an intense pull towards Violet but I think it worked perfectly. The redhead and the blond could be my knights in shinning señor any day of the week tbh.
This is the perfect holiday read ❤️. There’s connection, passion, longing, smut, found family goodness.

I am really loving this story ! We got a little look into it in an anthology and the ending left me on the edge of my seat. Alisha writes a fantastic omega-verse, and I ate this one right up. I love that Nova is not the typical younger FMC, it was really interesting to relate more to that age and make myself able to imagine myself in the character’s role. I mean, with those pack of men she’s become part of, how could you NOT?
This was a quickly moving plot that kept me engaged and not wanting to set it down. This author does such a great job of creating different all consuming worlds of all different kinds of tropes, and each time I continue to be speechless at her ability to so.
One thing you can always count on when reading her books, is that you’re going to get some good spice, she always delivers!
Did I mention what a lucky lady Nova is?
This is a def read for omega-verse readers! Intriguing!

So glad we finally got this story. We were introduced to the first handful of chapters of Violet and her men's story in an anthology Alisha participated in and I couldn't wait to dive back in since we were left on and epic cliffhanger.

Finally being able to dive back in was awesome, there was lots of emotional ups and downs in this one. Violet was really tested and was really brave and passionate once she found herself back in Snow Valley. The support of her men, her best friends who are her only family she had before finding the guys is absolutely heartwarming. I love being able to dive into these amazing omegaverse stories that Alisha has been creating. It's so completely different from her other contemporary books but I love them just the same. I love her wide range and endless supply of greatness. I can't wait for more of this universe she's built.

Loved this is a sweet and very spicy OV with a dash of crazy. Violet is an omega on a girls trip in the mountains when a snowstorm prevents her friends from making it and she gets snowed in. When three men show up at her door to help she gets the shock of her life they are her scent matches. I absolutely loved Violet she’s sweet and feisty with a fierce determination to go toe to toe with a certain someone when push came to shove. The guys omg they were so fun to read about and I enjoyed seeing their relationship both with each other and with Violet, I’m so glad they finally found their omega and got their HFN cause it hurt knowing what they went through when they were apart. I also loved seeing her friendship with the girls and that they had her back no matter what, I can’t wait to see more of them in the future.

FINDING FATE ON A MOUNTAIN

"Babe, don't threaten me with a good time. Now, hush and be good Alphas." - Nolan

"I'm falling madly in love with her, and I don't want to stop. I could fall forever with this Omega." - Nolan

The Omegaverse genre is one which I truly enjoy reading, and Alisha Williams has absolutely delivered a standout book. Without a doubt in my heart, Nolan is my favourite in this story of an Omega finding her scent matches, a pack, a family and finding love. This is just a beautiful story and I loved the interactions between all the characters, the way they grew as a family was heartwarming and full of emotion. The writing and character development were spot on and the story flowed smoothly and flawlessly. I cannot wait to see more from Snow Valley.

My Knotty Mountain Men is just what I needed over the holiday season with my warm beverage next to the fireside.

I’m newer to the omegaverse world and my favorite thing about the book is Alisha’s writing style. It was easy to understand, follow along and gave me all the feels!

Violet plans a girls trip to Snow Valley and ends up getting snowed in by herself. Little does she know her world is about to be turned upside down by three hunks who rescue her and they plan making her their entire world…and they do just that.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a sweet, cozy yet SPICY omegaverse with MM!

I really really really hope we will see Sylvia’s baby’s daddy book sooner than later!
