Rissa

Quitting her job in a spectacularly violent way, Rissa storms out of a popular bar swearing she’ll gut the next person who crosses her! Instead of going home and cooling down, she ducks into Sanguine, a small bar she’s never noticed. Ready to spend her last twenty on something good, she doesn’t expect to be captivated by the handsome bartender. Then his husband shows up

To her shock, these two won’t leave her alone. If she’s being honest, she doesn’t want to be left alone!

Anatoly

As a vampire, Anatoly might be a creature of the night but he’s not interested in the nightlife of San Diego’s Gas Lamp district. Unfortunately Zan, the only member of his beloved flock, adores people and socializing. Incapable of denying Zan anything, Anatoly financed Sanguine, a bar specifically created for magical creatures.

Normally he spends the night lurking in a corner of the bar while Zan flitters between customers, chatting, and skillfully crafting individually tailored cocktails. On one of the rare nights Anatoly is forced to assume Zan’s role as bartender a human woman wanders right past the wards.

She’s a fiery and exquisite creature. He won't let her get away.

Zan

Returning to his bar after helping a friend, Zan finds his normally grumpy vampire kissing a stranger. At first he’s incensed, then realizes she’s his mate.

The only thing left is to ease her into their world and woo her into their bed!

Deck the Skulls is a holiday novella featuring a human woman with a hard shell hiding her soft center, a powerful vampire determined to claim another member of his flock, and a gregarious mountain lion shifter who simply wants everyone to have a good time…and drink alcohol!

Deck the Skulls

This is a fun holiday story. I appreciate how this author pushes the boundaries of gender stereotypes, including in the spicy scenes. Just because you are big, or the toughest fighter, doesn't mean you are the Dom. The adorably snooty vampires tend to be (but not always).

I think one of the very real reasons that many readers turn towards romance novels is to live in a body positive world for a little while. Geez, RL is brutal about women's bodies and most men take so much for granted, women don't even notice when kindness is missing. Like this thought process,

“They’d been living together for an entire week now. It was getting to the point where most of the guys she dated realized she couldn’t be “tamed” and started getting snippy. Waiting for one of the guys to lose their temper or patience with her was putting her on edge. They couldn’t possibly like her this much. No one liked her like that.”

But of course, they actually do like her that much. And when the guys force her to recognize her intelligence and beauty, she has a terrible time believing it.

“But I’m not,” she whispered with a shudder. “I’m fierce and strong, but I’m not smart or gorgeous.”

I could probably read an endless number of MFCs having these same revelations and still appreciate being reminded. RL is so pervasive in telling us to be small and weak, this kind of positive repetition in the opposite direction is incredibly affirming.

This was cute!

After a terrible night at her job where she rage quit, Larissa, Rissa to her friends, found herself at a bar she never knew existed. Here she met Anatoly, the bartender, who was immediately taken by her. Only Anatoly seemed to be married to Zan, as proof by their wedding rings. But not everything’s what it seems and they both want Rissa. First they need to get her to trust them. Then try to explore a relationship with her. And maybe eventually tell her they’re not human and that she’s the missing part of their flock. So what happens when she finds out accidentally when a bar fight breaks out?

Anatoly, Zan, and Rissa get their happy ending in this standalone book.

I loved how each of them had such distinct personalities and needed such different things in their relationship but also complemented each other well. I do wonder what they guys’ plan was to eventually tell Rissa about them because that had to happen to move forward. I do love that the guys had people in their lives they could introduce Rissa to before she knew about the supernatural world that she then could turn to with questions after she found out. And that the guys knew they could trust with her safety too.

A beautiful love story!

I absolutely love this series!! Such a wonderful blend of sweet romantic love, compassion, and kindness without being sickly sweet. It’s also gritty, sometimes violent, and realistic. For me that’s a great blend. I appreciate a female lead who is quick with her fists to defend herself and others.

SPOILER WARNING…. DO NOT keep reading if you want the full surprise. Describes off page violence against VERY bad evil people and partial spoilers.

The meaning of the title is explained in the last few pages. It made me happy to read the ending!! People who rape small children and people who deliberately harm kids for profit are a special kind of evil. Anatoly’s solution for Rissa’s rapist foster father was awesome!! Ditto for the evil dentist!!! Those attacks balanced with her mate’s support for the two non profits made for lovely holiday story.

Overall great read! Thanks for another installment!!!

Ooh! Such a fun one! A great story with a slight holiday feel. Rissa was phenomenal. I’m not sure I would have handled it half sd well as she did when she going out the paranormal existed. Especially the way she did! So crazy but so good. She was right there willing to support and trust these men she was getting to know. Did she have hang ups? Sure. Who doesn’t. But she didn’t let those doubts stop her from living. Zan and Anatoly were such a fantastic couple! I loved how close these two were and how willing and able they were to open their hearts and home to whatever Rissa needed. They were so great. The connection and steam wad there and I was all for it! I loved these three so much and their Christmas morning was just the best! Perfect for them. I also adored the cameos of so many previous flocks. So fun to see how they were briefly doing too.

Great Read!

I’ve read several books by RK and, like the others this, one did not disappoint. The storyline was quite interesting and the characters shined in the roles. Following Rissa’s evolution from an angry, skeptical human to the strong formidable woman was intriguing and interesting; the changes were oftentimes subtle yet impactful while the effects helped to move the story along. While Zan and Anatoly planned to explain their unique qualities to Rissa at the right moment, life doesn’t always go as planned. Read to find out how Rissa handled things and how things were finally resolved.

Rissa,Zan and Anatoly

I like all of the Ours Evermore books. This one is just as good as the others. There were parts that had me laughing out loud.I like how her characters seem real even though they are shifters, vampires and other things along with humans. All these books are triads, which I like.Seeing them all learning each other is fun.Excellent story.

I loved it!

This book has some explicit scenes, but they do not overwhelm the story. It is a romance with a twist. Rises is a curvy, dominant personality who has endured many obstacles in her life. Anatoly and San bring her into a world of magic, shifters, vampires and more. They introduce her to unconditional love. It was a story that I would highly recommend.

This is the first book I have read by this author, and I loved it! It is unique and fun. There isn't a lot of Christmas, but I think it was just right. The chemistry between the three of them is great, and there is action and intrigue mixed in with the adult content. The HEA is satisfying in a delightfully twisted way, proving that vengeance can indeed be sweet.

Rissa finds a flock

Rissa walks into a bar she's never noticed before and is kissing the bartender before she even realizes it. This places her in a world completely unknown to her before.

This story takes place during December but is not heavy on the Christmas themes, which feels realistic. Most of us are still having to live our everyday lives in December.

Rissa has a complicated backstory and a busy current life she won't give up just because she's fated to a vampire. I love how RK highlighted issues that often go unnoticed in society.
