Alanis I hate him. Everything about Roman Genovese makes my skin crawl. Our hatred towards one another is built on the plight of our past. We’re enemies and that will never change. No matter how many times he backs me into a corner. No matter how many times my heart skips a beat when I'm near him. Roman will never be more than the boy who stole my heart and obliterated it without even flinching.
Roman Alanis Bonanno has always been a force to be reckoned with. She's a badass in her own right, knows exactly what she wants. But the one thing she's wrong about is me. She'll always be mine; my stubborn, defiant, yet independent girl. She might have her heart set on hating me, but the past isn't the past until I say it is.
Sophie is neurodivergent, British author currently residing in Dubai. She writes Mafia Romance with all the twists and turns you thought you saw coming.
I quite enjoyed mafia realm romantic drama! The couple very quickly has a push-pull inevitability. Their chemistry past and present is always fiery. I was a little disoriented at first about what happened in their past as it's not dug into early in the story but stick with it.
I connected with bad boy Roman more than Alanis..but who doesn't love those morally grey bad boys!? I admired him knowing that even through his mistakes in the past (Hidden with good intentions) he always knew Alanis was his endgame.
There's some suspense and familial mafia drama workings going on too which adds to the tension between them. This one took me a bit longer to get hooked in but when I did I really had a good time with where the drama was heading!
I think Sophie is becoming my queen of Mafia stories. I loved The Five series and this allows us to see their children all grown up. I really loved Alanis she is such a strong and feisty woman who is determined to tread her own path in the world. Roman is everything you expect in a mafia man, except when it comes to Alanis, I love that we get to see a softer side to him when they are together. I also love the push and pull between them it makes the sexual tension jump off the page 🥵. Brilliant read and I can’t wait for more.

Tropes: Mafia Romance Frenemies to Lovers Brother’s Best Friend Angst Traumatic Past
What it’s about: He was the love of her life, but then he just left her- for that she’ll never forgive him. When he turns up again, saying no to him is next to impossible. While she juggles his re-entry into her life, she’s also dealing with taking the next steps in her life, a step that could put her at odds with her family.
My review: I might be a tough crowd since I’m a big fan of mafia romance, but this one just didn’t hit the mark for me. The plot felt slow and dragged on, which isn’t what I look for in this genre. Typically, I love when mafia romances bring in a strong feminist edge, with the heroine challenging the patriarchy and pushing back against the mafia culture. This book skipped over that angle entirely, which could have worked if it was going for a fresh take, but unfortunately, it just didn’t delivery what I respond to. While I have a deep understanding of what I like from a mafia romance, if you’re interested in a new take on this sub-genre this might very well be a book/universe for you. The author spent a lot of time on a subplot involving young men stepping into their fathers' roles within the organization, but even this felt underdeveloped. These new heirs came across more as clueless, "nepo baby" mafiosos than capable leaders, which made it hard to believe they could actually handle the family business. I would have loved to see more of the fathers being involved in the organization, mentoring these young men and giving them a “chance” to prove themselves. I really loved the spice in this book. It didn’t take over from the plot and you could feel the attraction the characters had for one another.
I’m having a hard time rating this because while I didn’t hate it I didn’t love it. I guess I’ll give it a 3.5 for now.
So this is second generation to a series I didn’t read. While I did feel out of the loop just a little bit it can be read as a standalone.
Honestly the only reason I read this book was because I want to read the second one in the series which doesn’t come out until May. It’s a MM mafia book which is my favorite. This one didn’t have any reviews about safety so I went into this blind which I hate doing but I was pleasantly surprised.
So we have the five mafia families. This series is about their children who have taken over. We have Roman and Alanis who grew up together as bffs and then fell in love and were a couple. At 18 Roman decided to move across the country to expand their empire and Alanis has never forgiven him for breaking her heart by leaving. Roman had every intention of coming back to her once everything was settled but he doesn’t come back for 5 years. So when we start this book it’s 5 years after they separate.
I actually really liked Roman. He came home from being in Cali for years and the first thing on his list was to get his girl back. She was always his and she always will be. He was not giving up and I love how obsessed he was with her. Now it doesn’t say anything about their sexual history but I’m going to say he was celibate while he was gone. He had every intention of coming back to her and I don’t see him sleeping with anyone else and then later on he says how Lani was it for him the moment they got together and he’s never even looked at another girl!! He’s not a manwhore and he only has eyes for her.
Alanis is deeply heartbroken when Roman leaves and then to top it all off the night he leaves she’s attacked by three guys. We don’t find this out until a little later on but there are hints thrown out the whole time so I wouldn’t classify that as a spoiler. She blames Roman for what happened to her so naturally she hates him when he comes back. While I feel for what she went through I honestly didn’t care for Alanis very much. Every time we got to her POV I found myself heavily sighing like “alright let’s get this over with” because I hated being in her POV. I didn’t like being in her head, her thoughts were so conflicting. She has BBS sooo freaking bad. She even said once that she has control over her body and I was like no girl you really don’t. One minute she hates Roman so much and the next she’s sleeping with him. She had two thoughts the entire book: how much she hated Roman and how much she wanted to have sex with him. 90% of her monologue is her getting wet for him. I swear this girl had wet panties for the entire book. Which led to the book having way too many sex scenes. It was so frustrating. Every time they got angry with each other all he had to do was smirk and she got wet and they had sex and problem solved!! She was not my favorite FMC at all.
I also found myself skimming a lot because there was so much unnecessary information and descriptions of things. I skimmed like the last 10% I think.
There is no OW Drama at all though so that has to count for something!!
I will be reading the next one because that’s why I read this one. I’m so intrigued by Alvaro and Milo!! I love that Alvaro is the head of the family and he’s the farthest thing from a manwhore. Roman said Alvaro doesn’t have casual sex and he doesn’t date and there is so much tension between him and Milo I can’t wait to read their book.
NO CHEATING NO OP DRAMA NO THIRD ACT BREAK UP PAST SEXAUL ASSAULT ON FMC DRUG USE BY MCS (Mary Jane) TORTURE MURDER
WOWZA!! This book had me reeling in emotions left and right!! I will say this is probably this MOST SPICY book i’ve ever read and im not disappointed at all!! It was so so good! It took me a couple chapters to really get my head into it but the overall story was super grasping!!
I really enjoyed the character development of Alanis and Roman, how theirs world always seem to intertwine (even tho Roman NEVER wants to let her out of his sight)!! I especially enjoyed how different both worlds were for each character but they still come together to find each other throughout this read!! They have this passionate but toxic love that keeps you addicted and wanting more after each page!! I’ve never been so on edge while reading before!! I really really loved and enjoy this one!!
I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys mafia, romance, enemies to lovers to enemies to lovers?? 😅 morally gray characters and SUSPENSE LIKE NO OTHER!! also TONS of spice!!!
This was a fun ride. Precious Legacy is full of trauma, secrets, and revenge… with a side of tension and drama.
I enjoyed Alanis & Roman’s story. These two were fun. Their push & pull, banter, and chemistry was so good.
Alanis was so strong and fierce. She’s struggling with some trauma from her past, which she subconsciously blames Roman for. So she’s tying her hardest to hate him, but she just can’t. They’ve got this really hot hate to love & enemies to lovers thing going on.
I loved Roman. He’s a bad boy, mafia boss with a soft spot for Alanis. I loved how he fought for her, knowing they were endgame. He would do anything for her. Don’t mess with his girl or you may end up 💀.
The only aspect of this story that I wish was different was how often these characters went out to clubs and partied. Especially with what Alanis was struggling with. (But tbh, I guess that’s what I did in my early 20’s too, so idk, maybe I’m just old! That’s probably it! 😂)
Enemies to Lovers Brother’s Best Friend Second Chance Mafia Morally Grey Hero Touch Her & 💀 Strong FMC Past Trauma
I’m so excited for book 2, Deviant Legacy! I can just feel the tension and attraction between Alvaro and [redacted]. If you want to find out who the other MC is, you’ll need to read Precious Legacy. It’s a good one!
This is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me. Dark Mafia Romance and oh my does it bring the 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I loved it. Great story of a woman that is born into a Mafia family but struggles to be her own person all while being in love with one of the mafia family’s son but won’t admit it. Watch her battle her tragedy and her own strong will. She is stubborn and wants her own path but soon realizes that family is where strength is and always will be. But in the end may find a new way to make both paths combine. We shall see in the next book! No major cliff hanger but leaves you wanting more. Great job @the_notoriouswriter I loved it!
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely loved this book. Could not stop reading it! Please read the trigger warnings though. There is mention about an assault that could be triggering for some people.
Alanis (Lani) - love her name! She is strong-willed, stubborn, and knows how to hold a grudge. However, despite the family she grew up with, she has not lost herself and her own beliefs. When she makes up her mind, she sticks to that.
Roman is her one exception. He is flawed, but he is good deep down. He knows what he wants. Very "Touch Her & Die" vibes.
I didn't find any noticeable spelling or grammar errors. The plot is fantastic. I really hope there are more books about Varo and Haldon though! I want to know more!!
Tropes: Touch her and Mafia Enemies to lovers Hate to love you
Main Characters: Roman & Alanis (Presh)
Stand out lines/quotes: “Sometimes love doesn’t make sense –sometimes love is hard, but that makes it worth it in the end.”
My Thoughts: This is my first Sophie Dyer and boy am I upset that I haven’t read any of her books before now. I really enjoyed this book. Roman and Alanis’ story is so good. The storyline was chefs kiss and the spice was just right.
As a big fan of the Notorious Five series, I've been itching to get the stories of the next generation, and this first installment did not disappoint! Alanis and Roman set the pages on fire from the very first chapter. I loved their push and pull with one another, and don't even get me started on those spicy scenes! I also loved the introductions to all of the other Notorious children that we'll get to see more of as the series goes on. I'm so excited to see what happens with Alvaro and Milo, but I'm absolutely DYING for Haldon's story! Can't wait to get my hands on the rest of the books in this series after how well this one teed them up.
Holy rabies I'm finally getting to update with an ARC review!
Let's jump right in: If you're looking to jump into the Mafia romance department the Precious Legacy might be a good place to start. Not as dark as others out there, but there is definitely some morally grey/black behavior going on in this one. Our MMC Roman holds no punches when it comes to protecting our FMC Alanis.
When he pops back into her life after five years..let's just say our girl holds a grudge. We have an FMC with trauma y'all so read those TW's.
There was a lot of groundwork being laid out for us with this one and there was a lot of focus on family. We have a whole lot of characters and tree limbs to follow.
The spice in this one is fun and the enemies to lovers aspect comes through I. The banter between our MC's Alanis loves to hate Roman and it makes for some fun times.
“What did you do?” she rasps, eyes locked on the blood trickling down my hand. I glance at it, not really caring about the cut, then trail my gaze down to her thigh, rubbing my palm over her skin. Our blood blends together, so perfectly depicting us. If at all possible, my smile grows wider when I admire the letter R engraved in her skin, and I feel my insides twist with primal satisfaction. “Marked my f*cking territory.” 🥵🥵🥵
Tropes: Frenemies to Lovers Knife Play Mafia Romance Gun Play Morally Grey FMC Touch her and Die
My review is super late to the party and the reason being was because I was *this* close to DNF'ing her. But how, those tropes are "chef's kiss". Yes, yes they are. However, I was super disappointed with the FMC. Even as I'm writing this I'm grimacing because the way she was written was just "ugh". I enjoyed all of the other characters, except the main one. I have yet to experience that with any other book.
The story was good, which is why I gave it 3 stars.
I enjoyed the sibling relationship, their banter, their emotions. It was very relatable. The family dynamic was as well. Not surprising that the 2nd book is going to be about her twin.
I loved how the FMC and MMC knew each other from childhood and how their love grew as they did. The spice between them was explosive. You had hate sexy time and you had the feels' sexy time. Either way, they kept it interesting.
I won't be in a rush to get to book 2 when it comes out, but I will make time to read it in 2025.
Roman and Alanis know how to work each other up for the better (and worse). Despite being part of a big mafia family business , Lani wanted to make her own name and identity for herself to work out past trauma all on her own and I loved that. And Roman will do anything to protect his girl , she's his it or nothing. He protects and stands beside her to watch her thrive. And the families are great in their own roles too , each having a similar individual background.
A dangerous fictional world I would want to visit again, again and again :3
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Love Alanis. Don't hate Roman. Together, they can be great. I wish we had more about Alvaro.
In my opinion, the book is too long. It took me a while to get through it due to what I felt was a drawn out story line. Again, that's just my opinion.
What an exhilarating experience! The banter and spice in this organized crime storyline were perfectly balanced. It featured numerous spicy scenes, but not to the extent that they overshadowed the plot. The writing was exceptional, seamlessly incorporating characters from the author’s other works. This was my first time reading Sophie Dyer, and I was thoroughly impressed. Although it is interconnected with a previous series and marks the beginning of The Notorious Legacy series, I believe it can be enjoyed as a standalone. The plot and character connections were clear and complete, with no loose ends.
Roman and Alanis share an electrifying chemistry that is palpable throughout the narrative. The push-and-pull dynamic of their relationship is highlighted several times, and rightfully so. They complement each other remarkably well. The dual POV provides valuable insight into their interactions both together and apart. As a couple, they rank highly on my list. There is an undeniable allure to their relationship that makes them a pleasure to read about.

⭐️ARC REVIEW⭐️ Precious Legacy by Sophie Dyer 5 ⭐ /4🔥🌶
This was my second book by Sophie Dyer. I loved everything about it! I know some people are not into dark romance and some like to have a slow burn. But there was just something about Roman and Alanis and them “reconnecting” so early in the book that was 100% them and just made the book that much better.
Roman is returning to NYC and to a part of The Five! Alanis is the girl he left behind. He broke her in more ways than one! She hates him and blames him for the trauma and pain she has endured. She is rebellious, trying to remove herself from her family and the Mafia. She is joining “the enemy” and her reasons are sound. Although her family see’s this as a betrayal, what they don’t see is the advantage it can give them if Alanis can just stay and complete her training.
Roman and Alanis are both stubborn. They’re fire and ice, oil and water. They are both badass! Their hate/love relationship that carries the book and brings the 🥵 will most likely be their strongest asset! They are bound to set the City on fire and be the next Power Couple to rule it!
I have this weird obsession for Mafia Romances. Okay maybe not weird. But Mafia Romances just hit different for me! In. A. Good. Way. The Morally Grey MMC the strong FMC. The constant banter and push/pull. The possessive AF Male with the “touch her & ☠️ attitude”. The 🥵🥵🥵 scenes.
Precious Legacy has it all! It’s a must read! A add to your TBR Today!
I loved Alanis and Roman's story. It was such a great introduction into this new world of leaders...
I love Alanis. Her personality is so fiesty but she is fiercly loyal to those she cares about. She has grown up in a world full of death and destruction but wants to create her own path in life and seek justice the right way. She has secrets that she has kept from everyone in her life except her bestfriend.
Roman. I am obsessed with him. He is loyal to the Five and his best friends. He is so dark and alluring but the way he feels about Alanis trumps them all.
I really loved Lani and Roman's story. I think it was the perfect start to this new generation. When Roman comes back to town, Lani initially thinks it'll be for a few days, but little does she know, Roman has other plans and they include her. Things aren't as easy as they seem for both Lani and Roman, Roman is navigating his path with the Mafia and Lani is not only navigating family drama, work problems but also Roman. It's very complicated for both of them and to top it off, Lani can't help but be drawn back into the web Roman has weaved. I really liked their connection, Lani fought a good fight for sure....
I highly recommend this story. Sophie, what an amazing start, I can't wait to see who's next??? I know who I want it to be but who knows??? 😊😊😊
Thank you so much to Sophie and your beautiful team for giving me the chance to read this story and be apart of your ARC team. It's such a privilege 🙏
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶
🚓 dual pov 🚓 mafia vibes 🚓 lovers to enemies to lovers 🚓 Brother's best friend 🚓 morally grey mmc 🚓 touch her and ☠️ vibes 🚓 spicy scenes
This book reminded me why Sophie Dyer is one of my favorite mafia romance authors.
Roman and Alanis are kids of two of the original heads of The Five, a criminal syndicate that runs the city of New York. As such, they grew up together being childhood sweethearts. After turning 18, Roman leaves to the West Coast to expand his family's business, leaving Alanis behind and heartbroken. Needless to say, when he returned 5 years later, Alanis was not waiting to welcome him with opened arms.
I absolutely loved the banter and the push and pull between Roman and Alanis, and how Alanis proved herself to be a badass bitch, who gave as good as she got. I truly enjoyed the fact that even though Alanis would always fall into the temptation that was Roman Genovese, she kept her heart locked away and protected to avoid getting hurt again. Still, Roman was a man on a mission, and his mission was to get Presh back.
One of my favorite things about the story was the way that, no matter who her family was and what they wanted for her, Lani did her own thing, for her. And I loved the way that, even before he knew her reasons, Ro did not fight her on her decision or tried to convince her to change her mind.
I feel like I could go on forever mentioning things I enjoyed about this story, but... spoilers 🤫 *River Song's voice*. One last thing I will say is that Sophie did a great job with the build-up for this series, and I can not wait to read the next book!
Quote: “I want to make her scream my name until her throat scratches. I want to cover her in my marks so she knows who she belongs to, and even then it wouldn’t be enough.”
Because Sophie Dyer is putting them all through the wringer.
First out, Lani (1 half of The Bonanno twins) & Roman, Ryder’s mini him, in the most charming, chaotic and delicious way possible.
All the kids are grown up now (where does the time go 🥹🫶🏽) they’ve been raised together since they were in their wombs, and are taking the reins from their parents and continuing the Notorious Legacy set by their fathers.
Lani and Roman have always had their own special and possessive relationship, as they grew closer they became childhood sweethearts.
Ro was always looking out for Lani, protect and possessive of her … until he wasn’t.
One night … changed everything
As they grew older, family business became top priority. As such, Roman had to leave NY, but now he’s back, and wants nothing more than to pick up from where they last left off.
Except … not everything is sunshine and rainbows
There’s a secret Lani has been harboring from Roman, for years .. a secret so great that it shaped her and she is now on odds ends with her family and loved ones, due to career choices she’s making.
As we all know, secrets have a way, of coming out .. unless your name and father is the one and only Axel Bonanno .. then he’s already 10 steps ahead.
The push and pull, all the seggual angst/tension makes Precious Legacy an amazing story to start second gen series: The Notorious Legacy
What becomes of these 2 childhood sweethearts when secrets, personal career choices are made?
Precious Legacy is the angsty mafia/dark romance you didn’t know you needed. Alanis didn’t choose to be born into one of the 5 notorious mafia families that has taken claim to the five boroughs. Having chosen to walk away from the family business and knowing that her career choice will mark her as the enemy, Lani is just ready to be her own person.
Roman, left New York for California to set up an additional crime hub, spreading his family’s business to the west coast. Upon his return, his priority is getting Alains back and cleaning up the streets from the enemy.
Alanis is a fierce woman that doesn’t hold back. She doesn’t want to be the damsel in distress, and even more she doesn’t want to be told she can’t do something.
Roman is charming, scary, and matches Alanis’ energy, breaking down her walls. While his dedication is to keeping his families legacy intact along with the other Notorious Five, his hot pursuit of Alanis (or Presh, as he calls her) is also his priority.
The two of them together have such a fiery passion ❤️🔥 that the push and pull between them is incredible. The fire they both yearn for each other is unmatched, and despite Alanis hating Roman for leaving, she aches for him the same way he does for her.
‘Precious Legacy’ is spicy, filled with drama and lust, and has swoon worthy morally grey bad boys, with women who don’t shy away from danger and can hold themselves.
***Thank you to Sophie Dyer for this ARC. This review is 100% my own thoughts and opinions and contains no bias. For any questions, please reach out to me directly***
This book had me swept away in a whirlwind of emotions! I can confidently say it's the most thrilling read I've ever encountered, and I was not disappointed at all! The overall narrative was truly compelling.
I loved the character development of Alanis and Roman and how their distinct worlds intertwined. Their passionate yet toxic love kept me hooked, making me crave more with every page. I’ve never felt so on edge while reading before! I absolutely adored this book!
I wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who loves mafia themes, romance, enemies-to-lovers dynamics, morally complex characters, and unparalleled suspense! Additionally, it’s packed with an abundance of spice! I’m eagerly looking forward to diving into the rest of the series after how brilliantly this book set them up.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. Great start to the second generation of the Notorious Five. This first book starts off with a two for one. Two second generation kids that are together, were together, maybe together. The rocky relationship that Alanis Bonanno and Roman Genovese have spans decades. Roman is back after being away for five years to set up the family business in California. A move that created an irreparable rift between him and Alanis. Roman is hoping to pick things up where they left off when he left. Alanis is a stubborn, head strong woman. She and Roman were not on the same page. Alanis was mad. The one person that said he would never leave her, put the family business ahead of her.
That was just the tip of the iceberg. This next generation of the five were close. Roman, Alvaro and Haldon were best friends. All were poised to be the next in line. Alanis had her sights set on a different career path. She wanted nothing to do with the family business. In fact, she had applied to the Police Academy. Ready to follow in the footsteps of her Aunt Lexie. This decision caused a huge rift in the Bonanno family. Will things get back on track? Roman and Alanis have history. Will they let their time apart ruin what could have been? I am one hundred percent in on this series. Their parents gave readers quite a ride. I don’t think their kids will be too different.
If you like Mafia romance then this book is for Defintley for you. I received an advanced review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I am relatively new to mafia romances so was excited to get started on reading this book. And I can say I certainly wasn’t disappointed.
I have to give a big fat 10/10 for the world building in this book. There are some other characters stories in some of Sophie Dyer’s other books. However, I think this series is good to read stand alone too. But wow the connections between the characters were so well written and were perfect for a mafia family. The main male protagonist is a mafia romance bad boy who will do absolutely anything to protect his girl. And although this is the stereotype the character still feels unique and has plenty of depth. The female protagonist is even more interesting. She’s the perfect balance of powerful and vulnerable.
There is only 1 reason why I’ve rated this book a 4 instead of a 5. The book is enjoyable to read and is packed full of action at every turn. However, I felt there was an abrupt stop in this in prep for the next book. This may have been planned by the author however as it made me feel dissapointed in a way where I wanted to read more.
Overall I very much enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the others in the future. And as an ARC reader for this book it has certainly made me want to read more mafia genre books.
Roman and Alanis are the ultimate definition of a hate/love relationship that hits all the right spots. 🔥 Growing up together, they were like fire and gasoline, but five years apart turned that spark into a full-on inferno! Roman left Alanis behind for his family's empire, leaving her simmering in unresolved anger, but he’s back, and oh, the tension between them is off the charts. Alanis doesn’t just let him waltz back in, though. She’s fierce, independent, and ready to make him work for every inch.
Honestly, I wanted to shake Roman half the time (hello, stubborn alpha male vibes 🤦🏽♀️), but his obsession with Alanis? Total swoon. He’ll do anything to win her back, and that intense dedication, along with some well-placed knife play 👀...definitely delivers on the spice! Their push-and-pull keeps things sizzling, and if you’re a sucker for that classic mafia trope where love comes with a side of danger and just a touch of chaos, this book is a must-read. 🖤💀
We’ve got strong FMC vibes, protective MMC, banter for days, and all the crime, revenge, and family drama you could want. Plus, Sophie Dyer’s trauma and LGBTQ rep is 👌🏻, giving this story depth beyond the usual mafia romance. More to come in this series too, so the family feuds and unfinished business continue!
This is a legacy series that carries on from Sophie’s previous Notorious Five series. If you are a fan of starting from the beginning I would suggest reading those first. Having said that I have not read the Notorious Five series prior to reading Precious Legacy and I don’t feel it detracts too much from the story. You are so busy with the events between Roman and Alanis that theres not enough time to think about it. I am going to read back though as past events are mentioned that seem really interesting. Alanis is a fantastic FMC who kicks ass (literally) and isn’t afraid of going against her Mafia family to find her own way in life. Roman is the OTT OP MMC who uses his charm and his body to win back his Presh but none of it is easy going. These two are explosive, toxic and equally as stubborn. Their hate s£x is so spicy you can see why they forget why they’re mad at each other in the first place. There’s a lot happening in the background story with the other characters and Mafia families that is unresolved (though no cliffhangers) which is great as you know the drama is going to continue for the other legacies of The Five and I’m really wanting to see Alvaros and Milos story next.
This is one of those stories that you are not sure if you should like the MMC at all, but soon find out he’s everything you could have possibly wanted in a main character. Especially once you see how he reacts to certain things pertaining to the FMC.
As it turns out, the FMC he never got over. Alanis was feisty and strong. She had to be after what she had to endure. And as a result, misplaced anger as to which she eventually realized and corrected.
Roman knew Alanis was it for him.. he was in a position where he had to leave and left the one person he’d ever love. He was back now, but why was Alanis so angry? Why did she hate him so much? This is information you don’t find out right away but adds to the push and pull of these two.
I loved the angst, the way Roman would do anything for Alanis, and took her revenge into his own hands, despite what she wanted. They are both stubborn, care and love deeply, and would do anything for those who they love. Not to mention, Alanis is pursuing a dream that could very much ruin her family. But she wants to make her own way in life and has her reasonings behind it.
Obsession, love, revenge, angst, and so much more. Total swoon.
This was my first book be her lovely Sophie Dyer and this is also second Generation. So….. you know what that means! I must go read the first generation immediately!
Alanis was everything I love in an FMC! Wants to be independent, get it on her own and not use her family name. She has a fire personality and sassy mouth on her as well! And the confidence she expresses in her femininity is exquisite. To see the character development in her was heart breaking! She goes through it!
But with her heart wrenching story, came in Roman to pick up all the pieces. She fought so hard for it to not be him and he pushed back at every defiant effort she gave. Their push and pull was so perfect for their history!
Roman just does not give af. He will do what he thinks is best even if they tell him otherwise. And time and time he only proved that he was making the right decisions!
What to expect: -mafia romance -love to hate to love -morally grey posessive MMC -fiesty FMC -brother’s best friend -touch her and ☠️
Now let me be honest if Alvaro’s book is anything related to all the hints in this book with Milo (M/M) that will probably be my favorite of the series!
Thank you @the_notoriouswriter for allowing me the opportunity to read this as an ARC💛
This is my first read from Sophie, Dyer and Precious Legacy has opened my eyes to her fantastic writing. I really enjoyed this sexy mafia romance. Alanis is trying to find herself in the overbearing powerful mafia world she was born into. Expectations and responsibilities are a continuous pressure. But she is stubborn, feisty and determined to do things her way. She’s incredibly loyal yet powerfully independent. Yup, my savage Roman has driven his way into my heart. He is viscous, dark sinful and alluring. Devoted to his family and all that is expected of him, there is a passionate soft site that peaks through when it comes to Alanis. Lovers to enemies to lovers, equally matched, their deep rooted sexual tension, emotional push pull and banter is turbulently sizzling hot. Roman’s obsessive, possessive passionate drive slowly cracks on Alanis’s walls as he is truly insatiable and impossible to resist. Secrets, betrayals, angst revenge, lies, murder and true love all come together to create this start to a new generation. I really enjoyed meeting all the family members and friends, getting a feel for their dynamic. I truly cannot wait to see how The Notorious Legacy continues.
Pssssst…. I will be going back to read The Notorious Five.
ARC Review What a ride! Mafia romance, but with a unique twist.
🖤Second chance 🖤Brother’s best friend 🖤Mafia romance 🖤Touch her and die 🖤She’s mine (initial carving 😏)
I DEVOURED this book! I honestly couldn’t focus on anything else until I finished it, that’s how sucked in I was. The characters, the plot, the storyline, the spice…everything was phenomenally laid out and well written. And she’s definitely a thick book! I don’t know how Sophie did it, but it didn’t feel like it dragged on at all. There was something happening on every single page and I honestly could’ve read more!
Alanis and Roman’s relationship was everything. Roman knows exactly who he wants, who he’s always wanted…but Alanis needs a little reminding. And Roman is definitely up for the job. I loved how NOT ONCE did this man ever waiver in his devotion to Alanis, no matter how much she tried to push him away. And Alanis is such a badass. Her traumatic past only motivates her more to be who she wants to be in her life. I commend her for carving her own path in the life she was born into.
If for whatever reason you’re hesitating to pick this up, DON’T! Highly highly recommend!
The notorious five but make it second GEN. Welcome back to the world of the notorious five. While this book focuses on Roman Genovese and Alanis Bonanno, there are appearances of members of the other families as well.
I absolutely fell in love with the notorious five series. And I flew through the entire series in like three days. So when I saw this book and realized that it was the second GEN I was so excited. I always love when you get to see what happens after the series is over, and when an author can bring their children into the world that they created.
Let’s get onto to the book itself. Just like previous books that I have read from this author I was blown away by how she is able to bring her novels to life. Well, this book does have quite a few triggers the way that they are intertwined with revenge, love and family softens the blow a little bit. Reading this book actually makes me want to go through and reread the notorious five series because of how much I loved that series. And seeing that this is just book one of the new series I know I will be waiting on pens and needles for each new book.
