Vermilye has done it again with this third installment of The Carols of Christmas. He weaves the history of the carols: "Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus", "It Came Upon The Midnight Clear", "What Child is This?", and "Angels from the Realm of Glory." seamlessly with the Bible and enough devotions to get a believer through Advent and prepared for the birth of the Savior. The unique histories of each carol help the reader to understand and put into perspective the times in which they were written and the selected Bible verses bring those histories into our daily lives.

I really enjoyed this edition and it makes a perfect addition to his other carol/Advent collections.

I look forward to each entry

This is the third in a series by Alan, and I am delighted to see he has published a new one for Easter hymns, as well.. I have both recommended this series to others and purchased them for gifts. They are a blessing not only to retain the depth and history of these hymns, but also to settle into the stillness and ponder more deeply the heart this sacred time.

A wonderful look at some of our Favourite Christmas Carols

This is the last volume in the series and it’s just as good as the other two. It was a real joy to read throughout Advent and I felt it helped to boost my faith and to centre me on the true reason why we celebrate Christmas. Would thoroughly recommend all 3 volumes.
