هذا الكتاب وليد خزين من التجارب والذكريات والمواقف والأفكار التي تراكمت اثناء المهنة الحياة، وكانت العزلة على الجزيرة القبرصية، في زمن كورونا وسجونها الاضطرارية، قد ولت عند احتياجا الى الفعل، ودفع الضيق الى الخارج، وتحويل الضجر والعزلة والابتعاد عن الاصدقاء الى شيء نافع، أو تحويله الى ترياق لمعالجة الحياة والتقدم في العمر وهواجس الأفكار والحالات النفسية والعاطفية التي تضغط.

الكتابة عندي تشبه العلاج، فهي تعيد ما فقدته، وما أنا بحاجة الى أن أتفحصه مجددا، المنسي او عند عتبة الذاكرة لكنه بلا شكل وكيان. والحال، إنني أفرغت الكثير مما في جعبتي في كتبي الثلاثة عن المهنة وعن الحياة، عن المواقف والمعارك القديمة او التي ما زالت قائمة تسهم بها جمهرة كبيرة من المعماريين الجدد. بيد ان العديد من القضايا الخاصة بالمهنة واصلت الالحاح بسبب التطورات الجديدة التي تستدعي المتابعة وابداء الرأي.

Maath Al-Alousi is founder, Principal/Senior Partner for Alousi Associates Technical Studies Bureau , Baghdad, Iraq, and Alousi Associates Technical Studies Ltd., Limassol, Cyprus. He has forty two years experience in the planning, design and project management of residential, commercial, industrial and governmental projects throughout the Middle East.

He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Middle East Technical University, Turkey and the Architectural Association Diploma (Tropical Studies), United Kingdom.

He is a member of the Iraqi Architects Society and the Iraqi Engineers Union. He has lectured at the Higher Institute of Technology, Baghdad, and the University of Technology, Baghdad, where he was also External Examiner for M.Sc. degree projects in urban design.

He has written numerous research papers and has contributed and edited several publications and periodicals on traditional houses of Baghdad and on Islamic and Iraqi architecture.
