The storyline was good. I think this author could have a good career - I would certainly give her another chance. However, she either need to get an editor, or find a better one. There were many mistakes in clause placement, spelling or misused words, and the comma usage was even worse than mine. These mistakes were frequent enough to pull you from the story. Again, this is easily fixed with a little outside help, and with said help, this author should do well. Great story, just needs a little assistance from a grammar Nazi ;D
To be the owner of a sticker company had been Millie's dream and she was satisfied when she finally made her dream come true. Unfortunately, the murder of a close family friend upset her world. Who could have murdered, Vince, the friendly pizza man? Everyone liked him and his fabulous pizzas. Millie sets out to discover who the killer is. Finally, after investigating suspect after suspect, she finds the right one, and it's a big surprise! Lots of information about stickers and the creative art of making them. An enjoyable book.
This book is amazing. It's a wonderful mystery with some unexpected twists. I enjoyed reading it. The concept of sticker shop is something unique. What I loved most about this book was a super thrilling climax.
Millie has a p.anning sticker business and a lot of curiosity. When she finds an old friend murdered, she snoops with the help of her Aunt Ro and her friends.
Read the book yet didn’t really connect with it. Background story young female entrepreneur is wonderful. Online ‘sticker’ business has no allure. The mystery had some good catch but was not fluent. If there’s a 2nd book in series I will start it though. There is potential.
Read the free sample on Amazon because I was genuinely curious about this and had some time to kill. Hence why I'm not rating this, but I did want to jot down my thoughts. I'm surprised none of the reviews point out a glaring issue.
× Oh my word, the writing is poor. I know a lot of the time we as readers complain about a lack of description, but this is one of those few instances where there is too much description for everything -- and I mean EVERYTHING. There are also issues with the main character's narrative repeating herself and sentences that go on for too long.
× I know who the killer is. Just from reading the sample.
× Main character tells us her aunt told her she was "blessed" for having a petite figure and then we learn the aunt is a curvy woman. I'm sorry, what's wrong with curvy women?
× The characters feel flat. Like they were created to fill a certain role in the story, but they have nothing beyond being that role sadly. Which is probably why it's so easy to pick out who the murderer is.
I don't know. This might be better for younger readers or people just starting to get into murder mystery books, but the writing overall just turns me away. Cute idea, poor execution.
Your life won’t be in any way negatively affected if you skip this book.
The plot of this murder mystery is fine, if somewhat juvenile. The frustrating part is the writing. So many unnecessary details that serve no purpose to the story and/or character development, and so much repetition. If we just read that a situation occurred, we do not need to then read the main character summarize it to her aunt.
Editing is also your friend. Spell check, comma usage, spacing - learn it, use it, love it.
Please don’t spend your money on this book. $0.99 is too much when there’s fan fiction available for free online. If you have kids, or have access to kids, ask them how their day was - it will be a story better told than this book.
Hated the fact from very start guessed who the murderer was. Too few people in story likely to have committed the murders characters quite flat. Not one had any depth Cardboard people
