If you're reading this, it may mean I'm in trouble. I am, Riley is...the whole world is in deep strife.

With their friend missing and people throughout history falling through holes in the continuum, 17yo Madison and Riley must travel to the future to get to the bottom of who's at the top of the shadowy time travel organisation known as Recall.

At the front of their mind is a question—how did Recall find out about time travel? Who told them? If they learn the answer, they'll need to undo that one moment, winding back the chain of events that led the world into an almighty mess. If they can't find that precise moment in time—the point of origin of all the trouble—and reverse it, the temporal walls separating one age from another might come down, leading to a terminal global event.

Time travel's like that, you see. Here one day, utterly erased the next.

A high-stakes fast-paced time travel adventure.

I am the author of a six-book YA time travel series, called The Time Travel Chronicles. Secrets of the Nile, book one in the series, will be released on 18 July, 2023. I hope to release books two and three by the end of the year and the final three in 2024.

Creating this series has been the most fun I’ve ever had as a writer. It took me over a decade to write, involved researching five historical periods and tapping out over half a million words!

The process for each book began with research. I spent a couple of months reading as much as I could on each new period and taking notes. I usually filled an A4 notebook and more with details — not of historic events or real characters — but of the way people lived. I focused on the food, the homes, the social order, courting rituals, the general vibe of a place, ferreting out as many true details (especially the gory ones) as I could find. Only when I felt I had inhaled the essence of each period did I sit down to write.

Once I had a completed manuscript, I edited it multiple times, before giving it to my family to read — they’re all good writers and structural editors. They gave me notes. Then my script editor went over it…more notes. And some people from my writing group looked at parts of it…notes, notes, notes. I also had input from my writing teachers at the Faber Academy. Plus sensitivity readers when cultural issues arose. The proof reader mopped up what was left!

And so…after that looong process of writing and revising, I’m now here, preparing to launch my first baby out into the world.

I have had the privilege of serving as an advance reader for every book in Paulene Turner's Time Travel Chronicles series, and "Point of Origin," the final story, is just superb. All the events of the prior five books culminate in the quest to re-set the delicate time continuum which had been rocked by the work of Recall, and of course, to do that, there's time travel! :)

SO many layers of time travel in this piece--it's unique, awesome, and thought provoking.

Probably my favorite thing about this final book in the collection is how it brings back some of the best characters from the first five novels. I won't spoil "who" or what actually happens when they return, but all I can say is I loved every interaction.

Turner does an amazing job of tying up any loose ends before closing out the series. The characters, as always, are well drawn and relatable. She creates the best kind of villain here as well (again, no spoilers on WHO it is)--but what makes it great is that the villain is multi-dimensional and the reader, like the characters in the book, is left to question--are they truly bad? Are they good but just misguided? (There are several characters throughout the entire series that appear to be villains, but again, complicated ones that are unfailingly human.

Finishing the series was both exceptionally satisfying and sad, in a way--I loved journeying with Maddy and Reilly through Egypt, Medieval England, the Wild West, the Pirate Era, ancient Japan, and now in this final book, through Sydney--turning the final page was like saying goodbye to good friends. And... I want more! That's the sign of great writing...when stories and characters stay with you.

Highly, highly recommend the entire series (you can start with any one of the books and still have a good sense of what's going on), but for the full experience, start with Secrets of the Nile and keep going! Turner impresses with each new "chapter" and wraps up the series in Point of Origin with a twisting, turning, exciting, mind-boggling, emotional and highly satisfying ending. It's the way time travel should be!

**I received an advance copy of this book, and all opinions are solely my own.

The most INCREDIBLE ending to the most incredible series!!!
Wow - I really don’t know how to put into words how much I loved this book (and this entire series)! Time travel is complex and multi layered and the 5 previous books sent Maddy and Riley deeper and deeper into that messy spiral….I don’t know how you did it Paulene but you managed to pull all the strings together and tie everything up PERFECTLY! And importantly - the journey to get there was gripping, exciting, unexpected and a roller coaster of emotions. I couldn’t have predicted a single thing that happened and I was gasping aloud at some of those twists and turns.
Without giving away any spoilers ;) I was so delighted at the appearance of some character and absolutely horrified at the others. Every character in the whole series seemed so real and genuine and I felt a strong connection to everyone. This was the perfect ending to everyone’s story - how I wish it wasn’t the end and I didn’t have to say goodbye!!
I have never been so encapsulated by a series before. Thank you Paulene for making me fall in love with reading again. I don’t know how any book after this will ever top the Time Travel Chronicles…I guess I’ll just have to reread them all again!!!

Point of Origin, the last book in The Time Travel Chronicles, has more action and twists than a Marvel Avengers movie! In the events at the end of Samurai Steal, the previous book in the series, all hell broke out on the time continuum. Point of Origin picks up with our main characters Madison and Riley riding into the future to determine a method at solving the problem that have gone awry. If they don't, the whole world will be in heaps of trouble.

I have always been fascinated by the concept of time travel. I grew up in a generation that was fixated on the idea too with movies such as The Terminator, Timecop, and Back to the Future. Back to the Future, I had watched over and over again when it came out on dvd. It seemed simple to travel back in time, but with the simplicity, complications arise. Really true for Paulene Turner's books, too. And I place this series in my top five time travel related stories.

Point of Origin has so many loops and twists of perplexity that keeps the reader engaged on a wild roller coaster ride. Just when one disconnected wire is reconnected, the time continuum throws in a wrench, spinning the reader back into the vast inquisition of whether or not the players will be able to solve it and how. The complications and rational scenarios were intricately placed to the point if they moved ever so slightly in either direction, the train might completely derail. I am in awe of Paulene's talent of keeping the train on the track and giving a masterpiece of literature for the time travel lovers out there. This series will truly be a treasure of novels I will hold dear to my heart, not that I think a pirate like Dustin Crowe will take it from me, but because I thoroughly enjoyed it.

While I am a bit sad at this being the finale, as the unique characters have become a part of me, I am also glad I was introduced to each and everyone of them. To say goodbye to them is like knowing people in school for a certain number of years, only to put on a cap and gown and depart separate ways. Hope still lies on the horizon that maybe somewhere in this seemingly big, but small world, we will meet again someday. So to you, my friends, Madison and Riley, I raise the Parting Glass, and wish you well on all of your future (hopefully safe) endeavors.

After five previous travels into the past (Ancient Egypt, Medieval England, the Wild West, the Pirate Era and Edo Japan), it all comes down to the point of origin and for that Riley and Madison must jump into future Sydney, Australia.

The conclusion of the time travel tale is told to us by teenager Madison as she gets a glimpse into her future life and the choices she has made, some of which are very surprising to her.

Time is cracking up and people from past tales emerge in modern day Sydney, a strange and wonderful place for them. However, there is work to do and time must be sorted out, they can’t sit around drinking coffee all day.

There are some wonderful time twisting moments along the journey to save time itself and when it does get impossibly jumbled up, Madison is on hand to explain it with her cool head and practical choices.

This tale is fast paced, as it propels you back and forth in time, a truly wonderful conclusion to the epic Time Travel Chronicles.

Although, in all honesty, I’m sad, sad that this adventure is over, I will miss Madison, Riley and their friends but I’m wish them all well and I hope that things work out for them all in the future.

I was an ARC reader for this book, it’s out on 10th November, giving you time to get started on book 1. Great story telling.

Point of Origin by Paulene Turner is amazing of course and well written. She has great voice and style.

It's the sixth of The time travel chronicles ( So it's best you start from the beginning)
Madison has found that the timelines have come together and have been altered. She feels she has to find a way to fix things. With all of them coming together it sounds messy but nothing is impossible right? She teams up with the people from her past travels and her friends to try and change things back to normal. Or what can be considered normal but she finds some drastic things have changed and interfered with everyone. Have they all collided is it too late?

This book should be more then five stars it is addicting and makes you want to see if the author has anything else up her sleeve. Just like the main character ;) I would support more from This Author.

This Arc was given to me in exchange for an honest review all opinions are my own.

Wow, what a perfect ending to this epic series! I was lucky enough to get an advanced readers copy, and I can tell you that Paulene Turner delivered! This book six was not what I was expecting at all, and I'm thrilled to say, she's closed this series with utter perfection! Lot's of mystery unfolding through this finial book, as well as the usual adventures and excitement that she put in all of her books. I highly recommend this entire series! It's one I'll be enjoying for years to come! Not going to give anything away, but the ending was beautifully done, and in my opinion couldn't have been done any better!

After spending the last year rollicking through time with Madison and Riley, I can safely say that this last book of the series is also the best book of the series. We see some loose ends tied up, we finally find out what's going on with Recall, and we get quite a few shocks along the way... along with a few pleasant surprises. Anything more I say will just spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it yet, and I want everyone to enjoy this book as much as I did! Suffice to say that the book's conclusion is supremely satisfying, and I can't wait to see what Paulene Turner does next.
