Scott Sisters #6

The Bride on Marco Island

Rate this book
Dr. Hannah Scott is good at fixing everyone’s problems but her own.

Despite her family’s wishes and expectations, Hannah has had seven attempts at lifelong relationships only to run away again. Fleeing from her engagement to rejoin her family on Marco Island, Hannah nearly buckles under the weight of her own self-doubts.

Starting all over again is daunting, but Hannah’s family finally convinces her to take a job as a school counselor at the local high school. Being back in her old stomping grounds brings up old emotions and memories that Hannah had long since buried—including her crush on the former swimming sensation and heartthrob Brad Goddard.

Hannah unwittingly bonds with his 15-year-old daughter Becky, who is struggling with the loss of her mother. As she grows closer to Becky and Brad, Hannah runs into her former bully and Brad’s high school sweetheart.

In this tale of redemption, second chances, and the transformative power of love, Hannah and Brad must confront their shared history, navigate the challenges of blended families, and learn to embrace commitment once and for all.

For the best experience, read the books in order. This is the sixth book in the six-book series!

I was a little apprehensive about reading the sixth book in the Marco Island Scott sisters’ series without reading all the others; fortunately for me there was enough ‘repetition of the previous books’ relevant content to satisfy my curiosity and to fill in the gaps. However, it could be irritating for readers who have completed the series to have this repetition!
The focus is on psychiatrist Hannah, the youngest sister, who admits to a fear of commitment as she escapes from her third attempt at marriage. Returning to her home on Marco Island, she meets up with swim coach and teacher, Brand, a friend from her own school days.
Besides their budding romance, there is quite a complicated mystery involving a painting gifted to Brand. Hilarious incidents involving rebel St Bernard, Moose, touching romantic scenes and danger which threatens Hannah and Brand hold the reader’s attention as the cryptic clues are unravelled.
I received a free advance review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

The Scott sisters are wonderful characters that feel like friends you get to know throughout the series. This last book shows Hannah's story, which is the sister that is shown as the runaway bride in the story. Not only do we hear the whole story about that tendency and when it started, but we see Hannah make a self-discovery and find out how to move past it.

Two things I didn't like about the book was there felt like too much recap of the previous stories and the whole kidnap scenario made no sense to me. If that had been left out and Hannah and Brand just talked things out at the end I think would have given the story a more satisfied ending. However I do like that the epilogue sees all the Scott sister's having found their happily ever after.

Though the whole series was enjoyable, I thought the earlier stories which I read before Rafferty's name was put on them better written and a more solid storyline than the last few. I would love to see Rose Ryan write another stories and hold to the voice she showed in the first books of this series!

This is the final book of the series and like the rest it was a great read. Nice clean books that I recommend to everyone. The series is about the Scott sisters and stories of their getting to know the men they will marry. One sister is married but experiencing marital problems. The other 5 sisters know their future husbands but have no connections to them recently. This book is about Dr. Hannah Scott, a psychiatrist who runs from her third marriage ceremony. She has yet to face the why of her inability to get married. Now back on Marco Island she meets her first fiancé Chad, who no one knows she was going to marry when all her family was gone. She hates the man but her feelings have softened enough that she can be nice to him. Things happen that result in them becoming close again and addressing the strange events that a occurring on Marco Island. In a surprise event ‘Hannah and Chad are forced to marry. Later Hannah finds out why Chad didn’t show up for their first wedding. She also finds out what happened in his first marriage. HEA finally happens for Hannah and Chad.

What a wonderful conclusion to the Scott Sister series.
This one focuses on Hannah and her status as a "Runaway bride". Hannah once again flees before her trip down the aisle. She needs to figure out what is going on. Karma is hitting her constantly and she needs to face her past.
Brand has moved back to Marco Island with his two children. He too is trying to get his life back together after his accident.
These two have a past that no one knows about, except Nicky.
They are once again brought together by the mystery about the painting.
Hannah and Brand are wonderful characters. Their love story is one of years not just moments.
There is also the mystery surrounding the painting and who is trying yo get it. Who shot TJ? Who has broken into Brand's office?
All questions are answered and all women of the Scott family have found their HEA.

Last and best

Lots of clever hints I didn't pick up. The authors? are better at constructing mystery than editing. I would love to know which author wrote the stilted descriptions. Or were they AI generated? Some were so obviously different in language and context -- like they had been directly copied from another text.
Sadly the story conclusion was unsatisfying and weak. Still it was a fun series and all the characters were delightful -- each had a distinct personality from the six sisters, the other women and all the men. Even the dogs and the "evil" cat.
If readers can overlook major editing flaws and textbook scene descriptions they will enjoy the series. TJ was my favorite character with his snarky comments and self obsessed attitude. Readers with a sense of humor will love him. ENJOY!

Brilliant end to a phenomenal series!

An absolutely phenomenal series about the Scott sisters. I love each of the six books in this series and with each one I read I felt closer to the Scott family. The characters drew me in and I felt like their friend. I cried, I smiled and I rejoiced as they met so many challenges in their lives. An absolutely beautiful ending to this fabulous series. My only disappointment is that the series is ending. The upside is I know Amy Rafferty will surprise us with another wonderful, engaging series that I'll add to the list of my favorites. I can't wait! I highly recommend this series and others by Amy Rafferty.

I read this book as part of an advance reader team and am providing my honest opinion.

Hannah has skipped out on her wedding for the third time! As she drives home to Marco Island she wonders why she keeps doing this. Almost as soon as she arrives calamities start happening. First with a giant dog, then Brand, a guy she knew back in high school.

Things get weird when what’s supposed to be her first night in her cute cozy little cottage, she comes home to find a bear in her bed! Brand helps get to the bottom of the bear mystery and all the other strange things going on.

I don’t want to give too much away, so I’ll just say a great ending to another great series!

The Scott Sisters have been an entertaining and intriguing read! I have enjoyed the story of each sister. Hannah story is a great end to the series. Even though it was a romantic suspense I got some chuckles as well! The bear cub on her bed then TJ’s references to Goldilocks😂. The history between Hannah and Brand was heartbreaking but they got their second chance‼️ Love the interaction and support of the six sisters and their mom, the normal sibling bickering, etc but also how they have each other’s back. I highly recommend this series as another hit for Amy Rafferty and Rose Ryan! No caveats for language or sexual content which is a huge positive for me! I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a review.

This is another great story

Hannah has once again run away from getting married and she has run home to Marcos Island. As she nears her family home and Inn, a large dog runs in front of her car and she slams on her brakes to miss it. While she sits there gathering herself a man hits her fender, gives her a look, then takes off after the dog. This starts her reunion with Brand, the man who left her at the alter when she was 17. As the two get to know each other again, a mystery involving a painting develops and Hannah and Brand work with TJ to solve it. Will Hannah and Brand's past stop their future? Will the mystery of the painting interfer? Or will something even more strange happen to the two?

What a fantastic story and the perfect ending to this series! It ties up all the loose ends even though it is Hannah and Brand’s story. As a series, you can read each book alone but it is so much richer to read them in order because of character development in each book. I loved this setting and, not being familiar with Florida, will need to see if it’s real. I would love to visit! There are so many twists in this but it has a HEA. A delightful series you don’t want to miss!

great ending for this series

The book starts with a wedding and ends with one. In between three is a forced marriage, but destined to be and should have been years ago.
The storyline in this last book explains much more than one person's experience. The whole past life of Hannah and Brand is raised and has an impact on their present. Torn between anger, despair and emotions, the story unfolds around amissing painting and other people.
I like this couple's relationship and feelings, their dynamic together and separately. Individuals joined with a past that still lingers.

Amy Rafferty and Rose Ryan were able to drag me kicking and screaming into reading a serial. I’ve always avoided them because I’m so impatient for the next chapter. These two authors have me hooked on their series. I have loved their characters and storylines. Do read the books in order so you can be familiar with the Scott family. All six girls are interesting and different but I think the differences between Hannah and Jess is the most startling because most people expect twins to be more alike. I know better. I’m going to miss this family.

Great ending to the series. Hannah Scott has just bolted from her third wedding, leaving the unsustainable groom at the altar. On the way to Marco Island a gigantic dog runs in front of her car. Moose belongs to her high school sweetheart Brand, who left Hannah at the altar

Throw in the drama of an art thief, a kidnapping, a want to be girlfriend and action surrounds Hannah and Brand.

Will the Scott sisters pull off a wedding?

Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.

What a beautiful climax to the Marco Island series. It didn't appear there would be such a beautiful climax to this troubled family. But, somehow, somewhere they worked all for the good. I highly recommend this series on Marco Island for your reading pleasure. You will not be disappointed. Six sisters, six life challenges, six women seeking the perfect man for them. How much work do you imagine they went to? Stir in mystery in the guise of an acquaintance turned art thief.

The collaboration of Amy Rafferty and Rose Ryan is unbelievable. I was truly shocked at the stories behind Hannah's 3 "Run-A-Way Bride" histories. But her true love was finally reunited after a lot of mystery going on in the last book.
**************A MUST READ**********
fantastic job Amy & Rose. Loved the entire series and this final book.

Returning home after seven attempts of runaway marriages, Hannah return home to Marco Island. The one man she never gave her heart to was Brad Goddard, her childhood sweetheart. They re-kindle the attraction between them as they come together as friends on her return. This is the only book I've read in the series, and it's the final one. It's well written, and it can stand alone. These sisters find love late in life, but in the end, it was worth it all.

A charming book about second chances and family ties. I haven’t read the other books in this series yet; however, I will definitely be looking to read them. Even though this is a later book in the series, you can still read and enjoy it without feeling like you are missing out on half the story. This is a wonderful book for those who like slightly more mature characters instead of college-age romantic partners.

Here is the conclusion to the Scott sisters’ saga. This is the sixth book & Hannah’s story of her marriage phobia. Her past comes to light, or rather someone else’s. There’s a sisters’ fairytale ending bringing all together.

It's a shame this is the last book in the series covering six sisters from Marco Island! However, it does a great job of telling us where each sister is at, amongst the major story of Hannah and the various events she has been and is involved in. I enjoyed remembering the prior happenings amongst this close family.
I received an ARC from the author, but my opinion is given voluntarily.

I read this book as an arc reader.

Hannah has tried 3 times to get married and has run from all 3. She moves back home to Marco island to her family home. She has a run in with a St. Bernard named Moose, Brad who’s an old boyfriend who she’s never gotten over & a thief. What will become of this mess. Will Hannah make it to the alter and stay this time?

Hannah Scott was about to get married at Palm Beach Hotel and she was marrying Dr. Vince Vine. But she returns to Marco Island and comes across Brand Goddard and his dog “Moose”. There is a lot of humour and a mystery in the read. A great read about family and what matters. I am on the ARC team and leave a honest review. I recommend this book to other readers

Wow, this storyline took me back! This is a wonderfully, sweet story with perfect humor, depth and a whole lotta spark. The chemistry, emotions, and fun were just a delight from start to finish. I laughed, cried and cheered! I loved every one of the Scott sisters and the excellent supporting characters. This was an amazing series and hate to see it end.

What a wonderful ending to a great series. I absolutely love Moose, he had me laughing throughout most of the book. This book ended with some shocks and drama that I was not expecting.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

A great read

I really enjoyed this story of Hannah and Brand. The setting is gorgeous, the plot is definitely twisted with intrigue and a bit of suspense and the characters could fall off the page and jump into real life. It's a take anywhere, laugh out loud, sweet, clean romance!

Absolutely amazing series. I'm so sad its over. Each book was better than the last, if you can believe that. There are 6 books and they must be read in order. As you learn all about the Scott family, all 6 girls, sisters, and their soulmates.
