I’m not meant for a happy ending.I wasn’t even supposed to be an Omega but two years into college, I presented and my parents all but sold me to an abusive Alpha for a price tag that would set them up for life. However, my heart is still with my lover from sophomore year, my heart and soul—Blake. He was there for me when I was just a Beta, when I presented, and the terrifying days afterward. He’s been there ever since, dragging his Alphas to the diner I work at, and sneaking texts whenever he can. I’m in love with someone I can’t have. Someone who doesn’t have what I need. Because Blake isn’t just mated. He’s also an Omega. And when everything starts to fall apart, Blake is there to pick up the pieces, introducing me to a pack that I never thought I’d have for myself. Luther. Grayson. Maceo. Blake. Society says this isn’t going to work. That a pack can’t work with two Omegas. Blake says fuck the system, that I’ve always been his. I want to believe him. Because they’re the only ones that can pull me from the edge. From the Edge is the first installment in the Always Yours series. It is an 18+ MMMMM fast-burn Mpreg Omegaverse with dark themes and ends on a cliffhanger. TW/CW in the Author’s Note.

I was really hyped for this because I love omega x omega romances (even when there’s other pack members involved, I gotta take what I can) and while I wasn’t exactly disappointed it also didn’t live up to my expectations.
I think my issue was the lack of building with the relationship development. I understand with Blake and Luca, but the rest was a bit too underdeveloped, especially with the 5th member.
I still did enjoy the book, and the narration was really good. I’m looking forward to continuing the series and reading more of the authors works.
Also for anyone who also enjoyed this story, I must shamelessly rec my fav ao3 original story which has a very similar dynamic (two alpha and an omega in a pack with an outside omega) https://archiveofourown.org/works/210...
Pretty good read with a decent amount of spice. The drama was good and all the emotions were felt deep with this read. Being an all male pack definitely made this book interesting and I can’t wait to see where the next book takes us all
I couldn't put this book down! Just be sure to check the trigger warnings.
I felt terrible for poor Luca. He found himself in a dreadful situation with no clear way out. He has a love interest who isn’t his Alpha, and this love interest is also an Omega. Luca's life has been stripped away from him, all within a society that denies Omegas any true rights or safety.
Luther and Grayson are wonderfully supportive of both Omegas; their care, love, and protective instincts drew me in from the very start. However, that ending completely shattered my heart!
Phew that was intense at spots and I just wanted to scream no at the end, be warned, plot cliffhanger, the story continues in book 2. This book tho, whoa, talk about intense feelings and some stress and so much heartache and love. Luca and Blake were childhood friends, Grayson they met in college. But Luca is forced into a mateship with Hudson, who is absolutely horrible and abuses poor Luca. When Luca has had enough, Blake and his Alphas, Grayson and Luther are there to help. But the law is really setup against Omegas. It becomes a fight to save Luca, but his heat has thrown a wrench in those plans. It’s hot, lemme tell you. These men are sexy AF, and they are sweet and give Luca and Blake all they need and want. These two Alphas, they are everything a man should be. I adore these men. I adored this story. And I really can’t wait for book 2. Exceptionally written. N. Slater always packs a punch, always delivers an excellent plot and amazing and lovable characters, with some that we want to punt far away. So good though. And there were some developments I didn’t see coming but I loved every minute of it.
in From the Edge we meet 2 omegas who despite everything are meant to be together. One has a heavenly pack. They allow him a world where Omegas are practically property to be the person he wants to be and follow his dreams. The other is living in hell.
The story follows the escape of Luca and it is so well done. The emotions are like a rollercoaster, happiness, sadness and just plain anger. N Slater knows how to write a baddy that will leave you still angry long after the you have closed the last page.
She also knows how to write the goodies and everybody needs a Luther, Greyson and Maceo.
This ends on cliff-hanger and I cant wait to read the next one. Would highly recommend.
Omg!! N. Slater never ever disappoints! Could not put this book down. CHECK TRIGGER WARNINGS!! That is a must!! Some scenes are a lot. But this book is absolutely amazing!!! My heart goes out to Luca. The situation he was in was just heartbreaking. It’s ends on a cliffhanger and omg…… my heart!!!! Can’t wait to read the next book.
From the edge book one was so amazingly beautiful these characters We're amazing together. Some are broken beautifully Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down. I read this book within a day. And the story still stayed with the after. I read it if you like omega alpha. Omega dynamics with dynamics within a story and a great story plot This is a really good book to start with.I cannot wait to read book 2.The cliff hanger from bookmone was chef.Kiss I highly recommended reading this book
I really loved this book! It was so good and I honestly had so many emotions while reading this book. The characters, plot and even the pacing of the book was so good. I absolutely love N. Slater’s writing and this was another good one.
I wanted to cry for some characters, the things they have been through stuck with me, especially Luca. I just wanted to wrap him in a bubble and keep him safe. I love how he was a silent fighter and how loving he was. It made me happy when he was fighting for what he wanted. I honestly really like the pack too. I like how they all seem to fit together as a pack and they each bring something different to the table. I liked that the alphas wanted to give their all to their mates it made it all more special in swoon worthy moments.
I can’t wait to read the other books in this series. It was so worth the read. I will say I can’t wait to read book two because this one just made me want to all the more. Highly recommend if you love omegaverse like I do! Make sure to check TW.
While this is not my first book by this author it is definitely one of my favorites. I love the story line and it has the perfect amount of spice. Luther, Greyson, Blake and Maceo are exactly the good Luca needs in his life. But also, screw Hudson. I honestly can’t wait for book 2 to see where this story goes and to find out what’s next for the Keller Family!!!
I'm glad that we at least have the pack members figured out and kinda together by the end of book 1. The situation with Luca and his abusive alpha is horrible and very frustrating since this is a plot point that runs to the next book and not solved within this one.
It was so heartwarming to finally see Blake and Luca united, even if it's unconventional to have two omegas in a pack. Grayson and Luther could see that they belonged together, and that Luca belongs to them. Adding Maceo to the mix was a pleasant surprise that I was happy for, and I fell in love with all 5 MCs as they all navigated the challenge of dealing with Luca's abusive alpha, Hudson.
Unfortunately in this world, Omegas don't have equal or as much rights, and the laws are backwards as well as the people in authority, so Hudson seems to get away with everything. No relationship angst, but plot angst is everywhere, and I'm anxious to see how it's resolved, especially with how this book ended. Onwards to book 2!
Read the TW/CW if you have any safety concerns. Spoilers (No Major plot points or twists)
This story starts off with showing Luca’s life with his alpha who is terribly abusive. He has been with him for years, and his body is barely holding on. He still fantasizes about his one true love, an omega named Blake, and those feelings are reciprocated. While they’ve seen each other over the years they know they can no longer have a relationship because they are both mated. Blake, specifically, to two alphas. But fate has something else in store, and when Luca decides enough is enough the pieces begin to fall in place.
Honestly the beginning of this story tore me up. I mentally adopted Luca in to my family. Even without getting through half the book I felt emotionally invested. I was desperate to see his happy ending. Through his pain and hopelessness he kept fighting, even when he didn’t think there was anything worth fighting for. He was sweet, loving and the silent kind of fighter. I thought he’d be my favorite but I’m still on the fence.
All of these characters (besides the evil ones) were extremely likable. There’s a little bit to offer for everyone. Blake was fierce, loving, dominant, and even a little bratty. He had a lot of his own things going on but he maintained a protectiveness of Luca that I admired. He was the first to action when it came to him, consistently.
“I know, Alpha but I cant stop. I need him like I need you guys even though it’s not fair to say.”
One of the first things he says about Luca.
Alpha Grayson is on the sweet and tender side. I was surprised to get that in an omegaverse. I don’t read many alphas that like different things sexually or aren’t trying to be the most dominant thing in the room. He was refreshing. He contrasted well will Alpha Luther who takes the more traditional role. He was the pillar of the family. He was the most dominant one, but he wasn’t perfect and I liked that about him.
If you see that this is M5 not M4 you know there is one more. He comes a little later into the book so I won’t talk about him here. I will just say that he might actually be my favorite. As soon as we met him, I was fully ready to write a letter to the author begging to include him in the new pack. Vibes alone.
The only thing that didn’t sit right with me is the way omegas are talked about. The book kind of makes them out to be hormonal and whiny. The kind of quirky and demanding characters that are among so many omegaverse books. It left a bad taste in my mouth, but not so much that I hated everything about it. On the flip side I liked the caretaking of these characters, how the alphas wanted to fall to their every demand but also make sure they had what they needed above all else. I don’t want to rate it down more when there were aspects that I actively enjoyed.
I’d definitely read this again. I will 100% read the sequel. >!I wanted to know much more about these characters and see everyone get what they deserve.!<
I’d recommend this to anyone who like omegaverse, daddy/little (doesnt have this but it reminds me of those dynamics at times), and/or poly because the characters are all different and mesh together very well.
This was the first mm only book that I have read and I loved it. My heart was breaking for these characters. I really enjoyed the characters and the story. I'm hoping that they finally get their happily ever ever!
The first half was great, but after that it was as if i was reading through blurred lines- everything got mixed up. Also Maceos entrance ruined it all.
The book was really good. The story line was amazing and this is my first book by this author. I love the whole omegaverse storyline. Can’t wait for book 2!
I've had this book in my TBR for a long time and I'm really glad to finally having read it. While it's a short book with a fast pace, I was surprised at how everything worked out well despite the amount of characters in a short amount of pages since this is a poly MMMMM omegaverse. I had an amazing time and there were many things that I enjoyed, which I'll highlight later.
The story is about Luca, an omega forced into an abusive relationship with an alpha after his family sold him off. In this world, omegas don't really have rights and their abuse isn't taken seriously, especially in Luca's case because the abusive alpha has more power than him. Everything is more complicated because Luca yearns for another omega, his friend Blake, which is forbidden in their society. One time where he's on the verge of dying, he's taken to the hospital and Blake desperately tries to save him with the help of his two alphas: Luther and Grayson. Along the road, another person will be on their side, Maceo - a lawyer who'll do his best to fight back the charges agaisnt the alphas saving Luca's life and stop the authorities from giving Luca back to his abuser.
The book does an amazing job at delivering the h/c element, in the exact way I like it which is having a lot of painful scenes and then adding good comfort. Luca's story was very tragic, but it felt satisfying to read about him having people that want to protect him and give him the world. After everything he's gone through, he absolutely deserves that and his four mates. This sold a solid poly dynamic by giving emphasis on how each pair share their affection, and the inclusion of Maceo is very intriguing since it was teased to be developed more in later book(s), and I'm totally here for that.
Speaking about Maceo, there were a few details that I would've wanted differently, which is for the book to perhaps have more pages so that Maceo's introduction to the formed pack would've been smoother and for the fast pacing to slow down at one moment so it gives room for feelings to sink in. I'm guessing that this will be explored later, and I'm very interested in his role after that ending.
I also thought the mating/smut scenes were well done since they were necessary for the characters to bond and it was fascinating to read about how much the pull affected everyone. The fact that each one is territorial and possessive of the other? Perfection. I especially was very into Luca/Blake's dynamic because they were very sweet and supportive, I just really enjoy omega/omega pairings.
About the ending, although it's sort of a cliffhanger and it doesn't end happily in this installment for plot reasons, it felt really fitting to the story's direction since it wasn't possible to wrap it up when Luca's abuser is such a threat for all. It adds a layer of seriousness to the plot because he isn't someone that can easily be taken down. I was also surprised that he had one chapter from his perspective, I don't think I've seen a villain/antagonist to get theirs in other romance books.
Ultimately, this was a really well done poly omegaverse book with an intriguing plot, with two adorable omega MCs that are loved by their mates and vice versa, with protective mates and subtle recovery journey full of comfort. I absolutely am looking forward to book two.

It's a story about the true face of what Desperation means, beyond the limit of endurance and the taste of pain, when it's all you have left. This is dark omegaverse with heavy vibes of hurt-comfort-healing, in a fictional world, where the lives of omegas aren't usually pretty fairy tales. Luka and Blake are more than best friends. From the moment they have met, they share a soul deep connection that nothing can break, even when the twists and turns of life lead them down different paths of shattered dreams and glum reality. For Luka, who never thought, he will present as Omega and Blake who already is one, this is a catastrophe with huge proportions. This is a very emotionally heavy story, gripping and heart touching. As per usual for this author, the plot development is seamlessly tied to the level of spice and the two unfold perfectly. But more valuable is that the story provokes the reader to reflect on the values of life and how much love is really worth. Is a moment with the people you truly love worth sacrificing everything you are and everything you have? How far will you go to fight for them? So many questions and a mean cliffhanger, but I can't wait to see the sequel.
I felt bad for Luca and wished he had never gone through so much crap with Hudson. It's a shame that no one stepped in until it got too bad. It seemed like Grayson had a chance to stop everything from happening at the beginning but I felt like he was too much of a coward to fight for Luca. I also felt like he chose Blake over Luca since there couldn't be two omegas in a pack.
I didn't like that Blake was so obsessed with Luca. It felt insensitive to his alphas and made them seem like an afterthought. I'm not sure why they added Maceo to the pack so late especially if he was Luca's scented mate. I wished he would've had a better story line with Luca.
Overall, there wasn't much of a storyline, just a lot of smut. The omegas, Luca and Blake are basically in their own world the whole time. They also acted too childish for my liking. The alphas, Luther and Grayson were fine. Maceo seemed okay but was barely in the story.
I think I have found my new favorite pack in the Keller clan. I absolutely love how Blake doesn’t fit the mold as your stereotypical Omega and I just love how he and Lucus are with each other. This spin on the Omegaverse that N. Slater takes is probably one of my favorites. Her worlds generally revolve around characters who don’t the way they’re supposed to and that not everything is as it seems. From the Edge shows a potential dark side of the OV trope and she handles it perfectly, easily balancing the pain and trauma with the care and comfort one needs to begin the healing process. The Keller pack lives rent free in my head and while I loved Woodland Appeal, I think this one is going to be my favorite.
As always, N. Slater rocks my world with another Omegaverse series that has me addicted. Luca and his true pack are everything. Poor Luca has gone through so much and deserves a happy ending, but with an unruly abusive Alpha having a claim over his life, it's hard to see a path forward. Mixed with twists and turns, trauma, and a pack that'll do anything to keep him safe, Luca's story will leave you on the edge of your seat. I absolutely need book #2 because the cliffhanger left me in tears. Gahh, I hope they can make it through the trials yet to come.
I am disappointed massively. I love me some omega x omega with alphas etc however this completely missed the mark. It felt rushed but slow and I feel like they're all quite stupid To get themselves out the pickle surely Luca just needed to testify? but no! Also I felt like they laughed a lot at Luca's omega needs because Blake didn't do them? Won't be continuing with the series. Also I felt like there were too many storylines happening at once.
It took me a while to get to this review because I needed to sort out my feelings and thoughts first. From chapter 1, my heart felt like it was constantly being constricted into a knot the more I kept walking through Luca's mind. It was so heartbreaking and there were times when I even felt myself like it was hard to breathe. The way Luca was so hurt and broken and seeing him navigate through the kindness he was never shown was both difficult to read at times and heartwarming.
The pack was so beautiful with him. Grayson being such a tender Alpha, wanting to take care of Luca and Blake since always. Then there was Luther, the strong leader who protected everyone no matter what. I adored the way he was especially gentle with Luca and how careful he was with his triggers. Blake, the Omega who wore his heart on his damn sleeve. He was everything that was colorful, bright, and good. And lastly, Maceo, the unwilling newest member of their Pack, the Beta that carried himself like an Alpha.
Everyone complimented Luca so so well, and I loved reading the way each of them took care of him in their own way. The author did such a great job in writing them, showing their unique personalities so effortlessly. This book literally had me at the edge of my seat, turning page after page, both dreading to see what obstacles they had to face and eager to see how this beautiful pack continued to grow. That ending affected me and I cannot wait for the next book. In fact, I am quite actually offended I need to wait at all.
It was not what I thought I was getting, but it was so good. I’m not thrilled it is in three books not one, BUT the author makes that clear before one even starts. I like the non traditional relationships and personalities.
I’m going to try another book by this author, and I’ve already (at chapter three!) pre ordered the next!
Nothing like an omegaverse with 2 omegas in a pack. I loved this story. It's so emotional it pulled at my heartstrings from beginning to end. Great pace, and great plot. I just want to hug Luca and Blake and never let them go.
I loved this book! This book was so emotional and heartbreaking. I loved the characters and how beautifully written this was. I literally can’t wait to read the next book
I am not a fan of poly relationships but thought I’d give it a try and lone and behold an amazing story full of romance and pain. Moments you wished Blake was an alpha and others where everyone makes sense. Cannot wait to read the next book
The pain and heartache that Luca goes through breaks my heart. I kept yelling at Hudson to leave him alone. I believe that it as his love for Blake that kept him going. Blake’s alphas fighting for him was everything. I can’t wait for part two to see what happens.
