3.5 All of the material is presented in a logical, well organized manner and though potentially intimidating, there's an equal amount of reassuring and relevant remedies or solutions. The first half contains excellent information to motivate, and prepare aspiring expats/immigrants while the second half seems like it would be more helpful once you have moved.
FOR THOSE WITH LIMITED TRAVEL EXPERIENCE this will be an excellent source of much late night note taking and hopefully inspiration.
However, for those who have traveled a bit and especially if you have spent a few months or more in a foreign country then a significant portion of the material will understandably not be particularly new. Still, the author lists a lot of quality online resources for a variety of concerns - health insurance, shipping, visa info, filing taxes, etc., so there's that. Additionally there are a few chapters at the end that breakdown popular destinations and that was kinda fun.
No doubt most everything in this book is available online but this is a solid one stop source, and for those who are ready to take the leap it will be a great source of practical information, comfort, and most important - motivation.
Very thorough. The author tackles every (to me it seems at least) possibility, from planning, logistics, finances, adapting, etc. Clearly laid out and explained.
