The Family
LONDON. Early morning, June 2019: on the foreshore of the river Thames, a bag of bones is discovered. Human bones. DCI Samuel Owusu is called to the scene and quickly sends the bag for forensic examination. The bones are those of a young woman, killed by a blow to the head many years ago. Also inside the bag is a trail of clues, in particular the seeds of a rare tree which lead DCI Owusu back to a mansion in Chelsea where, nearly thirty years previously, three people lay dead in a kitchen, and a baby waited upstairs for someone to pick her up. The clues point forward too to a brother and sister in Chicago searching for the only person who can make sense of their pasts.

The 5/5 only goes for None of This Is True. I haven't read the other ones yet but I'm going based off of the only one I have. the plot twists make my stomach SICK because they are written so well. One of these characters ends up being absolute evil and I live for that
The book from this collection I read is "Then She Was Gone." I struggled between three and four stars with this book. It is quite gripping, and will leave you wanting more as you find yourself reading faster and faster. That said, it is quite predictable; you know early on what the outcome is going to be. For this reason, most of the mystery is discovering the why and how of the events. The author does a great job of storytelling that leaves the reader intrigued from start to finish. She also does a fine job of character detail, so the visual in my head was easy to build and create. It is an easy, somewhat intense, emotional read, and truly one that I do not regret and would easily recommend. The author's ability to hold in the reader's attention despite the rather simple predictability of the story is what pushed me from three stars on up to four stars.
Read one out of the collection: And then She was Gone
I found that the book progressed at a good pace and unraveled itself. It foreshadows the ending throughout the story, so if you’re paying attention it’s not that hard to figure out what happens. A bit odd and a bit sad.
I read And Then She Was Gone! It was one of those books that I couldn’t put down! I am usually a Historical fiction reader but really enjoyed a change.
At first was confusing, but after it was a huge jump from looking for Ellie and after poppy and his father and after the "Mother" of poppy having Ellie at her house, and at the end Ellie was Poppy's Mother, mind explode
