This Christmas, join Dawn and Debra as they unravel romance and rekindle love in the enchanting charm of Breckenridge.
Dawn and Debra Taylor, who lost touch with their brother years ago, are stunned when he suddenly invites them back to their childhood hometown of Breckenridge for the holidays. They return to find a man in ruins – and the estate they’d fought over so many years ago lying in shambles.
Determined to rekindle their relationship with their only remaining family, Dawn and Debra settle in for the holiday season… and they quickly reawaken fond memories from their childhood.
But when their brother mysteriously vanishes, leaving behind nothing but a cryptic trail of clues, the twins are plunged into a puzzling scavenger hunt to find him before Christmas. As old flames step back into their lives, long-forgotten romances begin to smolder as both twins are brought face-to-face with the men they thought they’d left firmly in their past.
Can Dawn and Debra find their brother before Christmas night? And as their hunt for clues takes them across town and deep into their own pasts, what will the sisters discover about themselves along the way?
As a delightful feel-good Christmas read that intertwines wholesome romance with a dash of mystery, The Christmas Cottage is a fun and festive contemporary women’s fiction series that will warm your heart and speak to your soul.
Grace Meyers is an author of beachy feel-good romances and women's contemporary fiction. She was born in the south, but has traveled a bit since then and now lives in a small coastal town.
Can't really get into this book. Too many mistakes that editing should have caught. Dawson seems like he is crazy and apparently half the town is in cahoots with him. All of the other adults are acting like teenagers with their first crush. Just not my kind of book.
Fun learning all of the characters; Dawson brother to twin adopted sisters Dawn and Debbie. Debbie's husband has passed away for a year now and she has a daughter Francesca, and her high school sweetheart Pierce still draws her attention and she does him as well. Dawn, the more vocal twin has a son, Erickson who is with her on holiday break and she's recently divorced from Erickson's father and her old flame, Orlando, is trying to be desperately charming and win her over. All this is going on while Penelope, Dawson's wife, is not at the cabin with everyone and he is playing to pull a movie stunt on his sisters, and neither Pierce or Orlando are happy about it and pleading with him to reconsider.
I received an early copy, ARC, and am giving my honest, free and voluntary review.
The banter between twin sisters Debbie and Dawn is enlightening. They are funny and by the description of the story, a handful. Dawson is mysterious and has something up his sleeve and his twin sisters are determined to find out what he is hiding. Pierce and Orlando seem to be witty and playful and know what Dawson is up to but will not let the "cat out of the bag" sort of speak. These five make the story likeable and I cannot wait to see how this story unfolds. It's a bit different from Grace's other series, but still entertaining and delightful. Loving the story so far!
I’m now on book 5 and have a few complaints. First, as each book goes on the grammar, present/past tense is getting worse, and there are quite a few references about one twin when it should be about another. Do they not proofread? Another is there’s way too much complaining/worrying/questioning over and over about the brother’s disappearance. It seems so many are in on this crazy scheme of his but none have thought through what they should be saying to put the sisters at ease. Now that I’m getting closer to the last book (#6), it’s going to be interesting to see if they find out the stupid truth.
Terrible. I have never read a book like this. The plot was bizarre. Characters not developed. Even worse the grammar and phrasing was nonsensical. Some reviewers commented it felt like an AI written book which I agree with. I tried to look up info about the author and it was vague. I won’t be reading the rest of the series.
This is one of the most poorly written books I've read. I wanted to stop when I stumbled into the first confusing paragraph that I had to reread multiple times and still couldn't get to make sense. I just finished The Nantucket Christmas Escape and loved it. I can't believe the same author wrote this junk.
The twin sisters get a note from their brother to come home, and that begins the mystery. Keep reading to meet their friends and try to solve the mystery of what's up with brother, Dawson. Stay tuned for Book 2
Was not sure wh we n I started this book what was going yo be the story line but TBE deeper I got into the story I found my self grabbed by the plot. I now by ave to get book 2 to see what the mystery is.
Not my cup of tea I like complete stories not serials which this seems to be if you want to write a long book finish each part so that you feel it’s complete but leaving you wanting more. This is one author that I’m not following, sorry even if she writes others.
Not at all interesting. Wanted to stop reading from the beginning, but thought it would get better. Which it did not. It ended abruptly, going into book two. Sorry, but this stops here for me.
Love the story but getting there has been a challenge. Finally got Debbie and Dawn straightened out in my mind, but the brother just keeps creeping in when another male character is speaking. Hoping for the best on the next one.
This on going mystery continues & their brother is still missing. They’ve decided to try to have a nice Christmas, if that’s possible. They keep receiving all these strange messages of things to do to insure Dawson’s safe return, but who are they from? Are they really from Dawson or has someone else entered this little game that Orlando & Pierce are unaware of? They are receiving challenges that doesn’t seem like what Orlando & Pierce agreed to. So are the messages from Dawson, the stalker or someone else? Orlando & Pierce are getting very irritated that Dawson didn’t tell them that this little game of his involved his sisters! They sit all night by the outdoor tree they use for their challenges. They have fulfilled all the challenges they have been sent, hoping to see who is placing the challenges on the tree, but they all fall asleep. The 2 men who are being paid to watch the twin sisters & they are all falling back in love. So how will this end when the sisters find out the guys are involved? I don’t think it will end well for any of the guys! What about the ring? They still can’t figure out where the ring came from & all the strange stuff upstairs. What about the book Orlando snatched up before they could see it. What’s that all about? Just TOO many secrets! Stay tuned!! Just two more books.
I received this ARC for free & I am giving my review for free in my own words. Can’t wait for this ending!!
In book 4 there isnStill no word on Dawson’s location . Debbie and Dawn continue to try to unravel the mystery of his disappearance. Pierce and Orlando continue to try to keep secrets for Dawson but their feelings for the twins are getting stronger.
A mystery package arrives and the group must solve puzzles each day to find something to hang on a tree to make sure Dawson returns for Christmas.
Thanks to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion
Dawn and Debra return to Breckenridge to reconnect with their brother. They find their childhood home in shambles and their brother not much better. They connect with their past, connect with prior boyfriends, and their brother disappears. Will they find him? Read on to find out. Thank you for the ARC copy.
