Wanting to spend one last summer weekend with his family, Detective Jude Byrne books them into a four star hotel on Maine’s beautiful rocky coast. Unfortunately, when Jude arrives, he finds the name of the hotel is Four Star and the motel itself looks the same as it did when it opened in 1976. It’s a dump and no one wants to stay the night, especially after the owner tells them its haunted by Cyrus Longfellow; a notorious playboy who was found robbed and murdered in his room back in 2010.
Psychic Cope Forbes spends the first night in the room Cyrus died in, listening to strange sounds, not knowing if they’re coming from the decrepit motel, the ghost himself, or his husband who over did it at the all you can eat lobster buffet. Feeling as though the ghost deserves a happy ending, Cope digs in, hoping he can contact the spirit to find out who killed him and get Cyrus to cross into the light, all before their last weekend of fun comes to an end.
When Cyrus refuses to name his killer, Cope is at a complete loss. He’s never encountered a spirit who didn’t want his murderer brought to justice. According to the strange spirit, he’s having the time of his life being more infamous in death than he was in life. With the colorful locals placing bets on whether or not Cope and Company can solve the Case of the Penniless Playboy, it’s a race to the finish to find out who murdered Cyrus before the killer can strike again.
Sick of the slogging rat-race of her 9-5 job, Pandora Pine put pen to paper (literally!) to make her ambition of becoming a romance novelist a reality. She cut her teeth in the dog-eat-dog world of fanfiction, still dreaming of the day when she would be a published author. She lives in Massachusetts with her blabbermouth muse who’ s a fan of middle of the night plot twists.
In her spare time, Pandora fancies herself an amateur nature photographer. She enjoys mucking around in swamps, hiking through the woods and crawling around on her hands and knees in her backyard seeking out the perfect shot. Pandora is a fan of roadside seafood shacks and always thinks Mexican food is a good idea at the time.
Some of Pandora’s favorite things are chocolate, writing longhand with purple pens and handsome men falling in love with each other.
Don't miss Pandora’s seductive new novel coming soon to an e-reader near you.
As usual Pandora Pine has done it again with Ghost Motel. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I just can't get enough of Cold Case Psychic and Haunted Souls series. Each one is better than the other. I truly admire her imagination and writing skills. Amazing is not the word. Giving her readers an interesting and a fast paced book, a puzzle to solve, and bringing all her main characters together, Jude, Ronan, Fitz, Ten, Cope, Jace, Everly, Woflie, Aurora, etc. to make it an enjoyable read.
Jude was tricked into vacationing in a run down motel in Maine via an email sent to him advertising a luxury and a beach front hotel. The gang planned to have a last holiday before the summer holidays end, but when they drove down they saw a depleted run down motel instead.
Here they get to know about a murder committed fifteen years back of a playboy Cyrus Longfellow in room number 13, the same room allocated to Cope and Jude, and thus starts the investigation into the cold case. The story plot had a nice twist at the end keeping the reader guessing.
Readers interested in paranormal and smart detection stories must read Pandora Pine to quench their thirst of solving murders and activating their grey cells. Every book in both the series is a delight to read. It's fast paced, and keeps the interest going till the end.
Looking forward to the next book, Psychic convention in Niagara.
This was a unusual story for Cope and Jude and and Ronan and Ten because they did not seek to solve a cold case but were instead tricked into going to a run-down motel in Maine by a reporter who wanted the murder of a rich playboy Cyrus Longfellow solved after 15 years. And when Cope speaks to Cyrus he won't tell him who killed him. The reporter Chip Hines was a jerk but the former stripper Samantha was very nice and so was former dancer Al. I should have guessed who the murderer was but of course Everly knew and convinced the others to let it go which was especially hard for Fitz. Looking forward to the psychic convention in Niagara.
Jude has the bright idea to book everyone into a hotel in Orchard Beach, Maine, to finish off the summer before all the kids go back to school. Best land plans. The email enticing him to Maine is a scam. When they see the motel it is hardly the four star hotel they expected but someone wanted to get Cope and Ten there with their psychic abilities in the hope of solving a twenty year old murder of a rich playboy who haunts the motel.
Another good fun adventure for the psychics and their detective husbands. I never get tired of reading Pandora’s books which are full of fun, witty banter, lots of innuendo and love.
Jude sees an email offering a cheap long weekend in Maine, the final bit of summer before fall. The gang all go but unfortunately they were bought there under false pretences as one of the local reporters wants Cope's help in solving a 14 year old murder. Cope does eventually make contact with the ghost but although he knows who killed him he won't give Cope the name. The gang do some detecting on the down low in between going to the beach and the pier with the kids. Quite a sad ending really with regard to the murderer.
I know I say this every time, but I adore this band of brothers! This time Cope and Jude are leading the Scooby Gang on a trip for an end of summer last hurrah at a Maine beach resort, but nothing is what it seems at first glance...
There's everything you expect here - good plot, lots of ghostly shenanigans and that unshakeable family bond that's been the tie running through all of the Salemverse books...a total comfort read. A couple of bot so subtle hints at some upcoming events are just the right kind of tease, too. Love it!
Ghost Motel is a brilliant book. I guessed who the killer was and was pleased I was right. This is as always for Pandora, a bit emotional. Especially Greeley, THAT was a shocker but hopefully he'll be in the next book🙏🙏
I always love Jude and Cope. I liked reading about Cyrus Longfellow and I kinda figured it out towards the end who the killer was but I won't spoil it for the next reader.
Wow, Pandora has done it again. I really enjoyed this book and getting more of Cope, Jude, Wolfie, Lizbet, Ronan, Ten, Everly, Ezra, Kevin, Jace & Aurora. Poor Jude was just trying to make a fun weekend for his family and friends by booking them all into a four star hotel on Maine’s beautiful rocky coast. Unfortunately when they arrive, the hotel is actually called four star and it looks the same as it did back when it was opened in 1976. To make matters worse the owner tells them when they’re checking it’s haunted by the spirit of Cyrus Longfellow a notorious playboy who was found robed and murdered in his room back in 2010.
All I can say is that Cyrus was the oddest spirit that Cope has encountered to date and that he’s happy staying at the hotel and that he knows who killed him but he wont tell them who it was. Even though Cyrus lived his life hard, fast and to his own rules he seemed to be genuinely a nice person just didn’t want to settle down with anyone. I’m looking forward to reading more books from this universe, as well as other books from Pandora. I’m thinking that Greeley is going to be in more stories like I’ve wanted forever but I really didn’t expect what was revealed. Like WTF??. He totally deserves some fantastic luck after everything he’s been through and what he’s had to overcome. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
