Holly's life as a soap opera star has cut her off from a lot of things most teenagers take for granted - parties, friends and dates. Sometimes she worries she's giving up her own life to play Lindsey on popular daytime series "Hartley Square".

Lindsey's got it made, while Holly's always struggling to keep up with her busy schedule and still find time for Tim. He means more to her than any boy she has ever met, but there are hardly enough hours in her day to see him. With no script to guide her, Holly must decide if she can have stardom, popularity - and a romance, too.

This book is less about love and more about friendship and growing up. There wasn’t much interesting in the relationship with Tim -just a basic boy meets girl. However her friendships both new and old, good and bad were explored more. Through this, Holly grew up and started making better decisions. Except for her fashion choices if the blouse/jacket on the front cover is anything to go by...

What in the world kind of message is this to send? Give up a career-enhancing trip to Trinidad and change schools for a guy? Horrible.

And speaking of horrible...THAT SHIRT! Stripes & lapels & buttons & ribbons & SHOULDER PADS all made out of a slimy-looking fabric.

Honestly at the end of day she was just kind of annoying. She could've had a carrer while having a boyfriend. But who cares? Might as well give it up.

A sweet story of young love and responsibilities. It gave me a warm feeling of Christmas in June. It had a clear moral of 'don't change who you are for other people' and to 'stand up for yourself'. Again, it was a book I chose to read in public transport because it was short and easy to carry. I enjoyed it and would read again!
