Three stories. Three couples. Three chances for a happy ever after.
Midnight Memories is a collection of three short romance stories. From a supposed unrequited love in story two, and a love that was written in the stars in story one, to second chances in story three. Each story is a short standalone that follows a different couple and features friends to lovers, brother's best friend, and a second chance romance. Follow each character as they find their own versions of a happy ever after.
Sami S is a twenty-one year old reader and writer from England. Her debut book Midnight Memories is a collection of three short romance stories. When she’s not writing or studying you can usually find her locked in her room with a romance or fantasy book with folklore or evermore playing in the background.
There are three short stories in this book and I can definitely see potential in all of them. They were cute. However, I think the stories lacked alot of context, you get the gist of it but even though it was short there was little depth to the stories. Still, cute YA feeling and think there can be development. The second story was a favorite.
This was my most anticipated read and also my first book of 2025. I remember seeing the character and being obsessed, wasn’t sure about the short story genre but I was blown away.

𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱: 1) The possibility of us: 5/5⭐️ 2) Midnight Sun: 4.5/5⭐️ 3) I miss you, I’m sorry : 4/5⭐️
This one was super cute! Like him watching her whilst she stargazes, remembering her favourite flowers, flying all the way to watch her graduate? Adorable honestly. It definitely gave the YA feeling since it started when they were kids and progressed onwards till they’re were adults. The choice that Leo made that ended up hurting Aurora I felt was explored personally. Due to them still being young and navigating their feelings and emotions I felt was very much needed. Overall they’re adorable and I gave it a solid 4.5/5!!!
NOW THIS BOOK!? My absolute favourite. It was a brother best friend but we also stepped into forbidden territory. I loved every single second of it. The yearning that Xander and Isabella had for each other? The backstories? Him always watching out for her? Their first kiss? It was perfect. Probably one of the best brothers best friend tropes I’d ever read. Xander was such book boyfriend material. Like even when he was forced to choose between the brother or Isabella he made a decision but still went to check up on her. I loved Isabella personality like she was sassy but full of life. They’re definitely both sunshine x sunshine couple. Midnight rain by Taylor swift perfectly summarises their dynamic. From the story itself to the bonus chapters? I loved every second of it.
This one was also super cute. Honestly, I did into it unsure. Second chance romance is not a genre that I particularly spend my time reading but this one was realistic and enjoyable. We dove into people pleasing which ultimately caused Leila and Eli’s breakup but they couldn’t stay away from each other for that long. I think this one was the most poetic out of three. Even thought they knew they couldn’t be together all they would think about is each other which I found adorable. I’d say I was satisfied with the ending and it was a nice finish to the series of books.
It was a stunning debut novella. I finished it in less than 24 hours and couldn’t put my Kindle down. It heavily leaned into that YA territory since there were a lot of suggestive scenes but no heavy spice. I did wish for more exploration within some books. Like in Midnight Sun, we mainly focused on Leo and his hurt, and Aurora had things going on which weren’t expanded on fully. However, we have to consider that this is a collection of short stories, and expansion on certain aspects can and would be limited. I did wish for a little more detail since the dual POV throughout would heavily focus on one side without much context on the other person. With this being my only nitpick, I enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to anyone who maybe needs a palate refresher or just something cute to make you feel fuzzy. •🌒🎀📚🎶•
