Lani Lynn Vale is married to the love of her life that she met in high school. She fell in love with him because he was wearing baseball pants. Ten years later they have three perfectly crazy children and a cat named Demon who likes to wake her up at ungodly times in the night. They live in the greatest state in the world, Texas. She writes contemporary and romantic suspense, and has a love for all things romance. You can find Lani in front of her computer writing away in her fictional characters world...that is until her husband and kids demand sustenance in the form of food and drink.
Baker is a new mother of baby Holt and her life is imploding. Her boyfriend is a jerk who had no problem making a baby, but caring for one is not of interest. She is drowning with PPD and wants out. Her family is another sore point for her after turning their back on her because of a choice she made, all but her dad. It is when her dad calls in a favor to Copper that Baker begins she can finally breathe again.
Copper knows Baker needs time, but he is hoping once she takes time for her that she will eventually be open to getting to know him. Copper is completely entranced by Baker and her baby and it is not just because he is doing a favor for her dad. With life swirling around them can they find their own happy or is it about to implode.
Another wonderful story by this author. My heart was wrecked for Baker and Copper is just what she needs. I can't say enough good things about this book, it exceeded my expectations.
Copper & Baker! Copper falls in love pretty much immediately, but bc of his past, he doesn't think he's worthy. Baker just had a baby & is going through a very difficult time. Copper, proving that he's worthy of all the good things, doesn't hesitate to step up for her.
I ADORE these two & baby Holt. The bond Copper & Holt form is extremely swoony. And Baker, tho she doesn't think so, is an amazing BA! She asks for help when she needs it & accepts the help given.
This was an emotional, fun read with the added steamy goodness. Very much enjoyed!!
Enemies to Lovers is a knockout. Whether you’ve been rooting for Cooper from the beginning or meeting him now, this is a story of second chances, unexpected love, and the kind of family you fight for.
From the very first book in the Content Advisory series, one thing was clear—Cooper needed his own story. A man with a past heavy enough to crush most, he deserved not just redemption, but a soul-deep happily ever after. We had to wait until Book 3, but Enemies to Lovers makes every second of that wait completely worth it.
Lani Lynn Vale brings the full package here: emotion, suspense, sizzling chemistry, and raw healing. If you’ve read the previous books, you already know some of Cooper’s heart-wrenching backstory. But even if you’re diving in fresh, Vale weaves the necessary pieces in seamlessly.
Now out of prison, Cooper is a changed man—scarred, focused, and out to take down the family business that betrayed him, in the most spectacular, public fashion. He doesn’t have time for complications. He certainly doesn’t have time for love.
But when a prison friend—the man who looked out for him inside—asks Cooper to do a favour, he says yes. That favour? Take care of his daughter Baker Ritter and her young son, Holt.
What Cooper doesn’t expect is for Baker and Holt to slowly crack the cold, hardened exterior he’s built around himself. Holt, with his innocent heart and joyful spirit, is the kind of child who could melt steel. And Baker? She’s fighting her own battles, including postpartum depression—something Vale writes about with empathy, honesty, and care.
This story is so much more than its enemies-to-lovers title implies. The tension isn’t from hatred, but from fear—of getting close, of losing everything, of not being worthy. But through stolen moments, slow trust, and fiery chemistry, Baker and Cooper find something they both thought they’d never have: peace, passion, and a future.
And of course, true to Ms Vale’s style, there’s danger, suspense, and moments that will keep you clinging to every page. She blends emotional depth with a pulse-racing plot and steamy connection effortlessly.
As Baker tells Cooper: “You were never broken, Cooper. Just bruised.” A line that perfectly sums up this story—aching, healing, and deeply romantic.
Enemies to Lovers is the next book in the Content Advisory series and features Copper and Baker. Baker is a new mother but instead of cutting ties with the father of her child, she tries to make a go of it again and eventually seeks help.
Copper is a friend of Shad, who helped him when he was in prison. He calls and asks Copper for a favour which involves his daughter Baker. I loved getting to know Copper and some of the other various Truth Tellers. I can’t wait for the next book…I always look forward to Lani’s books and devour them so quickly that I’m left chasing that book hangover for days thereafter❣️
A wonderful addition to the series😍 I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review.
I felt for Baker at the start of this one. You could tell that she was at the end of her rope, needed help desperately, didn't matter who, just anyone who could help her. So when Copper stepped up I was happy, especially when he realized how bad off she was. He didn't make her feel bad, just quietly went about to do what needed to be done and kept doing that even when he pushed her away. There were times though that it felt like he crossed the line to creepy, like with the gifts he left/sent her in the shotgun house and how he would come in when she was sleeping to do what needed to be done and to just spend time with Holt. Baker kinda knew or at least guessed a bunch of it, but it still felt like it was just a bit too much.
Things got more than a little crazy towards the end and Baker was just plain lucky. It was nice to see how happy this little family was at the end, they deserved all the happiness they could find.
I guess it was ok, but honestly, it was boring at times, and there was a lot going on that didn't make sense for this story, so it was more a meh then ok read for me.
first, the title doesn't describe the trope of the book. They aren't enemies. There is forced proximity though! I wanted to smack Copper in the face because he was being so stubborn with his "I'm not good enough" bs. The book shines a light on postpartum depression. You also get a bit more of the other Truth Tellers which is always great. Plus, there is a cute baby! What more could you want!
Interesting setup for the introduction on these two. Baker had a fiancee/boyfriend who was abusive and pretty much absent after the baby was born. They'd gotten pregnant together but she broke up with him just prior to birth (not really explained as to why). The asshat showed up at the hospital with some other woman but in the weeks following the birth, she takes him back. That decision wasn't really explained unless it was part of the indifferent reaction due to her Postpartum depression. She had it bad and it went on for months before she finally was spurred into reaching out to her dad for help. He had known Copper in prison, and due to the family being out of town on jobs, he called in a favor for Copper to 'rescue' Baker.
The reactions and interactions at the beginning were very spot on for someone struggling with PPD and I enjoyed their slow growth into a connection after she was diagnosed and things leveled out for her. But Copper pushed back so hard whenever they were feeling things towards the future, so much so I'm not so sure I'd have allowed him back in my life after the way he acted.
Aside from that, slow start but then they got their groove on after his sister and his best friend finally stepped in to educate Baker. Lack of communication was a huge problem until they sorted themselves out.
THEN, the reasons I removed 1.5 stars.
The two nasties in this book were just so farfetched I just felt disconnected from the story at that point. Sometimes, LLV brings this stuff in last minute and it always feels forced and rushed. Reign was a nutcake but so was her ex apparently though he didn't die... Not to happy with that last 20% to be honest. That ambush at the courthouse then the armored truck that got away?? What?
Final thoughts, there were at least two instances in the first 50% where I felt like something had been edited out and a sentence/paragraph made little sense. And lastly, A HUGE PET PEEVE with some of LLV's earlier books, she hints at "They only thought the bad stuff was over" or something along that lines at the 84% mark. Yet the rest of the book was setting up their home/business/baby. We learned way to much about their planning a new home/building a business etc... That's just a given. We don't have to see it all. Also, the next book could have some of those details in it. Just feels like overkill that 20% of the book is after the climax.
Honestly, not as good as the last book. Also, please stop using song titles/tropes/memes as a title and it having ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with the book plot.
I love LLV's books because they are normal people dealing with normal stuff except when they feel rushed and smashed together like this one. We didn't even get a sneak into who the next book is going to be about and usually we have some interaction with him/her unless it's Apollo or Webber.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This book was nothing but absolute perfection! Another LLV book that I read in one sitting. Completely devoured in a matter of hours. Each book in the series is always better than the last lol.
Copper Clayborn is the eldest of four siblings and being the true protector he is, went to prison for beating their father to death after he discovered the man had been putting hands on his baby sister. Now, after serving fifteen years in prison, he’s finally out, taken over the company, and is trying to live his life. What he doesn’t need is a woman and her infant son living with him, if only temporarily. But he owes Shad is life, so when he calls asking for this favor, he can’t say no.
My heart hurt for Copper, but it absolutely BLED for Baker. Bless her heart! I wanted to just hold her and squeeze her and tell her everything will be alright. After delivering her son alone (because the POS dad showed up to the hospital with his side piece and she kicked him out!!), delivering so quickly she tore from one end to the other, she is struggling. She decided to give douchebag another chance because it’s his kid after all, but she quickly learned she should have just cut her losses. When Copper swoops in as a favor to her dad and brings her and baby Holt to his apartment, she’s grateful. LLV handled the writing of her postpartum depression with the upmost of grace and empathy, but detailed enough to know that I thank my lucky stars I never went through that and sympathy for anyone who has. Her journey proves how strong of a character she really is and what an amazing character Copper is for taking over baby duties even though it’s not even his baby.
The chemistry between Copper and Baker was sizzling. No matter how much he wants to fight it, he can’t deny he’s completely fallen for her, even though he feels completely unworthy of love and that he would never be a good father. I swooned over the sweet moments with baby Holt. Seriously, I’m pretty sure my ovaries woke up and said “awwww!”, and I’m menopausal LOL!
And true to all LLV stories, this one has the touch of suspense we have all come to love and adore. Overall, this book was fabulous and I just couldn’t devour it quickly enough. I love how real these stories are and how these characters get their happily ever after’s even if they have to wade through all the shit first lol. I can’t wait for the next book to do it all over again!
Once again LLV has kept me from doing things around my house because I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!! I’m not sure how she does it, but with each book of this series I fall madly in love with both the Hero and Heroine. In this case, it’s Copper and Baker. If you’ve read other books by LLV, Copper is no stranger to you. We met him the Semyonov Bratva series. This man has spent the last 15 years in jail, for a crime that was more than justified, and is now out, seeking revenge for corporate crime against his family’s business, and in the Truth Tellers MC. He is also so broken and doesn’t believe he deserves greatness and happiness in his life. Well, Baker is about to enter his world and everything gets turned topsy turvy.
Baker has been in a relationship with a complete a-hole for half of her life and she’s just given birth to the most precious boy. Unfortunately, the father of her son is not at all interested in him or helping her and she’s experiencing some serious PPD. I have to give so much kudos to LLV for tackling this sensitive subject because she doesn’t hold back and we are really in the trenches with Baker and now Copper. My heart hurt so much for her.
Thanks to Baker’s dad Shad, Copper swoops into their lives and truly helps her with Holt while she’s lost in her depression trying to understand everything that’s happening with her body and mind. Copper is a man that I want in my corner because as much as he doesn’t want to admit it, he needs both of them more than he realizes and when that’s put in jeopardy, everything changes… for everyone!
I was glued to my kindle the entire time I was reading this book. It’s filled with relationships that are both good and bad, found family, oh so steamy sexy times, emotional connections, revenge and a love that is greater than either of them have ever experienced or expected. Along the way to a suspense filled ending, that truly had my heart beating out of my chest, we see two people that are healed beyond measure and finally understand that both of them are healed because they have each other!
Enemies to Lovers is everything I wanted from Cooper Clayborne’s story and more. This book blends emotional depth, suspense, redemption, and a tender, soul-deep romance that hits hard and stays with you. Cooper’s been a fascinating character since his first mention in the series—scarred, rough-edged, and walking that fine line between dark past and hopeful future. Vale finally gives him the spotlight, and she delivers big. Cooper’s focus is on rebuilding his life and burning down the corrupt family business that betrayed him, all while keeping everyone at arm’s length. Love? That’s not on the agenda.
Enter Baker Ritter—a single mom who’s been through hell and back, betrayed by the man she thought she’d spend her life with. Baker’s strength and vulnerability are written with honesty, especially in how Vale portrays her postpartum depression. Her struggles feel raw, real, and relatable, and it’s refreshing to see a heroine given so much emotional complexity.
When Baker moves in with Cooper (thanks to her father calling in an old prison debt), their dynamic is electric right from the start. They don’t hate each other—they’re guarded, cautious, and terrified of what opening up could cost them. But page by page, that caution burns away, replaced by slow-building trust, fiery attraction, and moments that are as sweet as they are steamy.
And let’s not forget Holt—Baker’s son—who might just be one of Vale’s best kid characters yet. He’s all innocence and light, the perfect balance to Cooper’s hardened exterior and Baker’s wariness. His relationship with Cooper is heart-melting and gives the story an additional emotional punch.
True to Lani Lynn Vale’s style, there’s also plenty of suspense and danger woven into the romance, with twists that keep the pace moving fast. But what really makes this book special is the healing arc—two people broken in different ways finding not just passion, but peace and family.
Cooper’s redemption, Baker’s resilience, and Holt’s infectious joy make this one of the standout books of the Content Advisory series. It’s emotional, spicy, heartfelt, and 100% binge-worthy.
Lani Lynn Vale knows how to make her characters as real as possible and nothing is more real than post partum depression.
Baker finds herself in a position where she gives birth and her boyfriend decides to bring his new girlfriend to the birth of their son! Things just started going down hill more and more after this.
When Copper gets a call from one of his buddies, Shade, to help his daughter while him and his family are away, he of course agrees. After helping move Baker out of the house with her dead beat boyfriend, he finds himself desperate to help this woman who clearly wasn't well. What he didn't count on was finding himself easily falling into a domestic life he never saw himself having. He loves coming home to Baker and her infant son, Holt. But Cooper knows he's not good enough for Baker.
Baker, after suffering through months of darkness and depression, finally decides it's time to leave her boyfriend who refuses to help in anyway raise their son. When her Dad sends his friend, Copper, she can't help but admire his strong and good looks. She starts to realise that she needs help and goes to see her doctor who helps her realise she's suffering with PPD. Copper goes above and beyond to help her and ends up doing a lot more than she expected with her infant son. She doesn't know what she'd do without him. But when she over hears a conversation that Copper has with someone she sees that she's imposed on his life enough and jumps at the opportunity to move out.
This book is so real! I felt myself relating to both of these characters on SO many levels. Post partum depression isn't mentioned enough in books, especially romances and I loved that LLV wrote a character like Baker. And Copper, who is an ex-con, who is trying to find his way through life after being in prison for 13 years. Not only is he trying to pick up the pieces at the corrupt corporation his father left behind, but he's also trying to find his self-worth in love.
I cannot recommend this book and this series enough!
📖Genre & Tropes📖 : biker romance x single mom x toxic / crazy ex x forced proximity x spicy scenes
I particularly enjoyed the treatment of postpartum depression (it's quite rare that we talk about it, and we often feel like it magically disappears) !
Bref, une romance de biker sexy forte en dramas !
⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐~⭐
A nice biker romance but nothing extraordinary !
I love the single mom trope and was curious to learn more about Cooper, so I devoured this book !
It's not a huge favorite because the dramas were a bit surreal (and even though I love these kinds of dramas, the crashed car thing ...) and the plot was a bit muddled (lots of things happen in parallel, but we feel like we're not getting the whole story ... Reign's story in particular was super weird !), but I still enjoyed reading it !
J'ai particulièrement apprécié le traitement de la dépression post-partum (c'est assez rare qu'on en parle et souvent on a l'impression que ça disparait comme par magie) !
In short, a sexy biker romance with a lot of drama !
Lani Lynn Vale's Content Advisory series is proving to be my catnip because even in the midst of me being sick and all, I couldn't resist reading the newest installment. Enemies to Lovers is the third book, and while the title doesn't actually reflect the story, it was every bit as entertaining as I expected it to be. Like the previous novels, you can read this new one as a standalone, but fair warning, there will be spoilers when it comes to couples who were featured before, and that's not limited to this specific series.
Baker Ritter belatedly realizes the mistake she made when she took back her cheating ex. He's as terrible a boyfriend as he is a father to their baby, Holt. When she finally decides to leave him, she turns to her father, who in turn contacts the one person he trusts to keep his daughter and grandson safe--thirty-three-year-old Truth Teller (and ex-con) Copper Clayborne. Their setup was supposed to be temporary, but soon, these roommates feel like they're their own kind of family. But someone doesn't approve of it.
Both Copper and Baker had interesting back stories, particularly when it comes to the dynamics they had with their respective families. I liked seeing them create a safe haven for themselves and how they formed a bond the more time they spent together. Copper with Holt had me sighing happily, and I applauded how Baker fought to manage and overcome her post-partum depression. Can I also say that I'm just glad the whole Reign saga has FINALLY come to an end? I'm handing Enemies to Lovers 4.5 stars.
Enemies to lovers is about Copper Clayborne (Chevy from the first book’s older brother that is out of jail now). And Baker from the second book (the baby that Searcy walked around with while serving customers). Copper gets a note from Rain that causes him to run to her rescue only to learn this woman is TRULY crazy and have her put in an insane asylum. A close buddy from jail asks him to do him a favor while he’s a trucker on the road for the next 9 days: pick up his daughter Baker and her newborn from her dead-beat fiance. She has post partum and he’s awful. Copper jumps at the chance to help the older man that helped the 18-year-old boy suddenly put in jail for killiing his father after discovering him touching their little sister. He can pack up the woman and her baby, move them in with him, and also dismantle his father’s million-dollar business and the corrupt stockholders that made sure he stayed in jail. Baker spent 15-years with a man that treated her poorly. When he showed up to the birth of their son with a date, her family told her to leave but Joey apologized so she stayed, and they all turned their back on her – all except her dad. So, when the finally felt broken enough to call – her dad her his daughter and grandson out of there in no time. Together, they tackled post partum, her ex-fiance, and Rain who returns with a vengence! Great book.
He’s a felon recently released from prison. She’s a new mom suffering from postpartum depression, and her now-ex-finance baby daddy is a worthless deadbeat. She’s so alone and has no one but her dad to lean on. But her dad can’t be there, so he does the next best thing. He sends a good man he trusts in his stead.
Copper owes his life to Baker’s dad, he saved him while in prison and kept him alive. Copper would do anything for his friend, including taking in his adult daughter and her new baby, who need a soft place to land.
Copper expects total chaos when Baker and her baby son move in with him, but what he doesn’t expect is to fall for them both. However, there isn’t any way he could have a future with them. He’s an ex-con and no good enough for them.
This book was awesome! It was very fast-paced; there were quick resolutions, and there wasn’t a ton of dragging of the storyline. I was never bored in the slightest. There was a lot of unexpected action near the last of the book that really kept me on my toes.
I struggle when a book ends without more, but this book didn’t disappoint! When most books end, this book continued, and I loved it!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
This is the story of Cooper and Baker. Cooper is a man with a past that is super heavy. Most people would be crushed under the weight of his past. I am going to let you discover it for yourself. Cooper now is fresh out of prison and is a very changed man. He is a man on a mission to take out the family business that betrayed him. He is planning to do this in the most public way possible. He is a man on a mission and has no time for love. When his friend in prison asks him for a favor Cooper can't turn him down. The man needs his daughter taken care of. She has just had a son named Holt. He wasn't ready for who he would find. And how they would affect his life. Baker is a girl fighting her own battles including postpartum depression. This story is so good. I have to stop talking about it or I will give something away. This book has everything you need in a great story. Lots of emotion, suspense and some King hot chemistry between the main characters. You do not want to miss this book.
Baker was struggling. She knew things should have been over even before Joey showed up to the hospital with another woman when she had just given birth to their son. But, she gave him another chance anyway when she never should have. And with no support and severe postpartum depression, she needed a lifeline.
Copper was still trying to find his footing after 15 years in prison, but when his friend Shad reached out for a favor, he found himself with new roommates. He had no idea what postpartum depression could do to a person, but he vowed to make Baker and Holt's lives better.
But Copper believes he isn't good enough for them. And Baker thinks he doesn't want her. Plus there is a whole lot of crazy following them both around.
Lani did an amazing job dealing with the sensitive topic of postpartum depression. Watching Baker overcome so that she could be the parent that she wanted to be was beautiful. And, Copper . . . maybe he was a bit stalkerish but damn, he was truly hooked on Baker and baby Holt.
I loved the drama in this one. There was so much happening at once and it was amazing as always. 5 stars
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Copper & Baker. Triggers- PPD, mental illness, family discord, kidnapping, gun violence. So I have to say that I loved this book but it honestly took a little bit for me to get into. As LLV mentions in her author's note, the story touches heavily on postpartum depression and while I deal with my own depression, I don't have kids so I couldn't relate to that part of the story. Everything else was very relatable. Copper is brother to Cutter and Keely, the one who just got out of prison. He's asked to help his friend's daughter move from her fiancés. Baker is dealing with postpartum depression and a fiancé that isn't much help. When she finally decides to leave it's with the help of Copper and the TTMC that she's able to. I love this story just for the love and support Copper provides while Baker maneuvers through motherhood. But of course, no LLV story is complete without drama and there's a lot of it mixed with some steamy moments. LLV never lets me down.
4.5 Stars I'm so glad we finally get Clay's story! I've been eagerly waiting for it. It was everything I wanted it to be and then some. This MC bad boy has some cinnamon roll tendencies especially when it comes Baker and her little one Holt. Holy hot mode when it comes to Clay holding little Holt. My heart broke for Baker. She was put through the emotional wringer, but to see where she ends up, wonderous moment. A lot of karma dealt out in this one to my joy. After reading this and getting to know Clay's BBF Webber I can't wait for his book. Man these Truth Tellers have hooked to the point I can't decide whose book I hope is next. I always enjoy the epilogues in Lani's books, but this one just hit me different this time. I think it has to do with Baker's initial struggle she had, but the beautiful turn around. Clay and Baker are going to stick with me for awhile. It made my heart so happy for Clay because he has inner struggle himself on what he thinks he deserves. A great addition to the series. To say I'm excited for more from this series is an understatement.
Copper and Baker officially meet when she has to go live with him and her baby boy, Holt, to get away from her now ex-fiance'. She realizes that she has PPD and goes to the doctor to start medication to get back on track with her life. She feels like she is drowning. Copper quickly realizes that she has checked out and takes it upon himself to get her back to normal. He did have some understandable misgivings about her getting involved with him. He didn't want her to have to deal with people questioning why she was with a convicted felon, etc. He didn't realize that she knew he was the reason she started to get better. There were quite a few things going on in this book as usual. I didn't understand the need for some of it to be honest. It was good to see these 2 realize that they were important to one another. Copper stepped up big time. Was happy to see Baker realize that without someone else having to point it out to her. Some of the stalkerish things he did though were too much at points though. Overall this was my favorite so far in this series.
Baker knows that her relationship with the man she is having a child with is less than ideal however she wants to make it work for the sake of her infant son Holt. She soon realizes that she needs to end this toxic relationship, so she reaches out to her dad who sends Copper to help her.
Baker’s dad was there for him when he was in prison so when he asks for help Copper isn’t going to say no. He now finds himself living with Baker and her son Holt, but he soon realizes that it isn’t an imposition but everything he didn’t know he wanted, and he will do whatever is necessary to protect mother and son.
Although the reasons are very different both Copper and Baker have difficult pasts that will have you feelings for both these characters. The heat between them is undeniable and the suspense part of the story adds a little intrigue as Cooper and Baker get the happiness they both deserve.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first: Grumpy Sunshine (Content Advisory, #1) Look at Her and Die (Content Advisory, #2)
This is Baker and Copper’s story. Since he got out of jail, he is making it his mission to take down the company. But in the middle of all of that he gets a call from someone he serves time with. His friend asks for a favor. Help his daughter. Baker is having a hard time. She is depressed and having to take care of her baby all alone as her boyfriend is a piece of trash. Copper is about to rescue her. He helps her deal with the ex and her depression. As they spend time together they fall but misunderstandings and overheard conversions have her pulling away. Can he convince her that she is the one for him? What happens when two people from the past are out to get them? Will they survive or lose each other in the end?
I was so excited to read Cooper Clayborne's book. He was the mysterious brother who was already there. After spending years in prison, he's finally home and ready to ensure his family's safety. Then, he gets a phone call from someone he considers a friend. His daughter is in trouble, and he needs Cooper to get her out. Baker didn't plan her life this way, but she didn't know how to get out. When she's finally had enough, she calls her dad. The hard part—and this may be a trigger, so read the warnings—is that she has postpartum depression. I loved that this was included in the book and that Lani showed all the signs of it. Baker didn't know what to do, but meeting Cooper was about to change her life. However, sometimes you have to walk before you can run, and Cooper and Baker will need to take a hard look at things and see if they can make something work—or if they'll be forever friend-zoned.
Enemies To Lovers will steal your heart from the very moment that these two have their lives intertwined. Copper and Baker are characters that not only draw you into their story but take a hold of your heart and just won’t let go. Their story is not all sunshine and rainbows but is also filled with heartbreak, self doubt and fighting for what you want. Copper sees himself as not worthy of Baker’s love and Baker doubts his feelings for her. Mistakes and misunderstandings are made but can either of them walk away fully. Copper will melt your heart with his interactions and care of little Holt not to mention the little things he does for Baker from afar. The heat between these two is off the charts and will have your skin on fire. There was plenty of banter, suspense, drama and a little chaos to have you captivated and enamoured by this story.
Highly emotional and super satisfying! The third book in Lani Lynn Vale's Content Advisory series is the Clayborne we've all been waiting for ... Copper is re-establishing his life after prison and finds love when he least expects it ... or wants it! Baker is a new mom, suffering a life of hell and just so happens to be the daughter of the man who continually kept Copper safe in prison. He might not be emotionally ready to have a weary woman thrust upon him, but there's no way he can turn his back when his friend needs his help. Meant to be a temporary reprieve for a broken heart and body, his house turns into a home when Baker and her son Holt breathe life into it. Their story is filled with emotion, danger and intrigue as they fight their way towards forever with each other. I highly recommend this book as well as the rest of the series!
I love good enemies to lovers story line. Baker an Cooer know of one another as met a time or two because of Bakers dad. Baker ends up in a bad spot when the man she thought she was going to marry brings another woman to the birth of their child. Baker finally sees the light of day a few months after giving birth, so she calls her dad for help. Who ends up sending Cooper to help while he is away for work. Oh boy does Cooper help. He steps up and helps Baker with her son while she works on her postpartum she is working on. Once Baker comes out of her fog, she sees what a real man should do for his family and starts falling for him. But of course Copper keeps her at arms length until Baker moves out to help get Cooper confess his feelings and stop hiding. Another great story with funny banter from characters we all know and love.
This is the 3rd book in this brilliant series and I am loving these Truth Tellers men! talk about SWOON!!
This ones features Cooper, and Oh how I wanted good things for this man after years of being in prison after killing his abusive father, he deserved so much more. When asked to help a friend out by taking his daughter and her son in he never realised his whole world and life would be tipped upside down but the cutie that is Holt but also by his Mother.
Baker is dealing with a lot, a useless baby daddy that is not helping her post partum depression as he cannot tear himself away from his gaming to actually parent his child, its not until she hits rock bottom and admits she needs help that things start looking up when he knight is leather steps up and shows how real men parent!!
Lani touches a very real subject of post partum issues beautifully, emotionally and in a real way. I honestly felt Bakers pain and despair through the words.
Lani has a brilliant way of writing these stories and worlds that keep you entertained, hold your attention and fall in love all at once. Once you start you wont want to put this down until you have finished every word and then you are left excited and eagerly anticipating her next book.
I was gifted a copy of this book by the author and this is my honest opinion
This is the third book in this amazing series, and this is Baker and Cooper’s story. Baker though she had her HEA, until she is left pregnant, alone, and struggling, and when she contacts her ex-con dad, he sends Cooper to help her. Cooper is the eldest of four siblings, and he spend 15-years I jail for killing his father, who has his hands on his baby sister, and he is now running the family business. Cooper owes Shad a lot, and is willing to help Baker, even though he has a lot on his plate. This is a well written action packed, emotional roller coaster, with family, friendship, loyalty, enemies / lovers, engaging and realistic characters, humor, witty banter, soulmates, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and unpredictable, addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
